HONOR MAGIC VS
HONOR MAGIC VS

In Brief

Honor is a popular smartphone brand with many admirers as most of its models have been extremely well received and continue to grow in popularity with each passing day. Although 2022 has been a great year as far as smartphones are concerned, Honors’ contributions are not much discussed.

Fortunately, its users are in for a treat as Honor has announced a new product release event scheduled for November 23, 2022, where it will reveal details about its new foldable smartphone model to the general public called Honor Magic VS that will have extremely advanced upgrades in comparison to its predecessor.

As is usually the case, there are tipsters that know the scuttlebug of any new device that is awaiting release as they have good relations with inside sources who reveal a thing or two about its details prior to its launch and the same has happened this time as well so what is revealed can be considered accurate and authentic.

Honor Magic VS

Key Specifications of Honor Magic VS

To begin with, Honor Magic VS will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset instead of Snapdragon 8+ Gen 2 as was expected initially but it is considered reasonable as it is not the next generation of the foldable smartphone model.

Honor has also launched a promotional video where Honor Magic VS has adopted a an inward folding design with a golden middle frame, which was well received by the users that are highly looking forward to it.

It will come with a dual battery capacity viz. 2030mAh and 2870mAh cells that will come with a 66W fast charging support, aside from getting a brand new hinge design that will make it stand apart from its predecessor as the body will become lighter, while the overall structure will be optimized.

While these upgrades are noteworthy, the other specifications are the same, which means that it will come with a 7.9 inch display screen, along with a 90Hz refresh rate that will also have a punch-hole design and 2K screen.

Brief Summary

There is nothing like going on a long drive to take you away from the professional stress that office work gives you. While some people prefer going alone for long drives, others love to go with their significant other but, again, there is nothing as calming to your nerves than a long drive, or at least many people think so.

Nowadays, people prefer listening to music by connecting their smartphone to their car to get the proverbial entertainment experience and with significant advances taking place every now and then, it becomes more and more exciting to go on a long drive.

It is a well known fact that Google has been working on Android Auto, which makes connecting your smartphone to the car much easier, it will make for an enthralling experience as the company has come up with a new graphical user interface, termed as Coolwalk, for Android Auto.

The makers are quite hopeful that it will prove to be revolutionary for Google’s in-car system, while the hopes are quite high as Android Auto has already been tested by a handful of people and they all have only positive remarks to give about it.

Android Auto

Android Auto Expectations

The new Android Auto will come installed with a central app bar where ‘The Maps’ icon will be present always as it belongs to the car system for searching and tracking locations, while the other things will entirely depend on the usage patterns that the user is accustomed to.

The central app bar will make multitasking easier because there will be two different apps running side by side in the split screen simultaneously, while the area designated on the maps will obviously occupy the bigger section of the screen.

The other will be a dynamic portion of the screen where the user will launch the multimedia content app that they use on a regular basis whilst simultaneously hosting the phone app whenever they get a call.

Multimedia applications have also undergone vast changes but within the context of the graphical user interface as the control buttons meant for playback take a completely different shape depending on the current playback status.

Apart from that, unread messages and notifications will be refreshed as well so that they become comprehensible to readers where users can get a refreshing experience in a similar manner to Apple’s CarPlay.

Android Auto

Conclusion

Android Auto is in its testing phase as the beta version is being examined and is available for public use but only for those that have signed up for the beta program, while those who’ve not can try by manually installing the most recent Android beta version and downloading it from third-party stores.

Sundar Pichai To Tim Cook: Here’s How Much Top Tech CEOs Earn In A Month

0
Top Tech CEOs

Tech companies are everybody’s favourite these days. These companies are mostly competing for consumers’ time with their tech products and online services. Meanwhile, their growth and work culture are often a topic of discussion. And so are the pay cheques these valuable big tech companies offer. Ever wondered how much these top Tech Company CEOs earn in a month? Well, even if you weren’t wondering per se, some of these salary figures are worth noticing. We have made this list from Sunday Pichai to Tim Cook and let’s see how much these star CEOs are actually taking home every month.

Sundar Pichai

Top Tech CEOs

Let’s start with the one man who is really running probably the most important tech company of all, Google. Sunday Pichai joined the company in 2004 and got elevated to the CEO position in 2015. If various media reports are to be believed, Pichai took home over $1 billion (which is around 100 crores in Indian currency) annually from 2015 to 2020. Media reports say that Pichai’s base salary is $2 million (around Rs 20 lakh) which excludes the CEO bonuses and stock grants.

Satya Nadella

Satya Nadella

Talking of big tech companies, Microsoft will never be far behind. Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella was appointed to the top post in the year 2014. As per many published reports, Nadella’s annual salary was elevated to almost $50M after he took over the position.

Moreover, it has also been published in the media that Nadella’s total salary saw a whooping increase of over 12 per cent to $49.9 million in the financial year of 2021 ended at the end of June month.

Tim Cook

Tim Cook

If we are talking of big tech CEOs, Apple’s CEO is probably going to be named one of the most powerful CEOs. The company has always been personality-driven with many star CEOs. Tim Cook has been adorning the crown perfectly since he took over the position of CEO of one of the world’s most prestigious tech companies in 2011. Before taking over as the CEO, Cook was working in the company as COO (chief operating officer). He was handling Apple’s worldwide operations and sales.

As per many international media reports, Tim Cook’s annual salary in 2020 – 2021 was almost $265 million. With a base salary of $3 million (which is around 30 lakh in Indian Currency), Cook reportedly receives multiple additional compensations. These additions to the base salary include $1 million as his perks, $10.7 million as a bonus, and a whopping $250 million in stock awards.

Mark Zuckerberg

Top Tech CEOs

The fifth richest person in the world right now, Mark Zuckerberg is one of the most popular faces when it comes to big tech companies (or in fact while speaking of any business for that matter Zuckerberg is a popular face). An interesting fact to note, Zuckerberg voluntarily takes compensation of just about $1 per annum.

Zuckerberg started the company named Facebook (which was originally named Face mash) in the year 2004 while at Harvard University. His friend and partners Eduardo Saver, Andrew McCollum, Dustin Moskovitz and Chris Hughes were also involved during the inception of what now is the world’s biggest social media company. Facebook garnered much attention and value once it reached the milestone of 1 million users in 2012.

Elon Musk

Elon Musk

Last but in no way least, Elon Musk is the man at the helm of SpaceX, Tesla, and now Twitter (though not officially announced for Twitter yet). The richest man on earth surprisingly is one of the lowest-paid CEOs as per multiple media reports. One recent report suggested, “Musk “realized” compensation worth almost $23.5 billion in 2021, from exercising some Tesla stock options awarded in 2018.”

Samsung Galaxy Watch 4; Paralyzing Update

0
SAMSUNG GALAXY WATCH 4
SAMSUNG GALAXY WATCH 4

Brief Summary

Samsung has released a slew of devices in 2022 and most of them have been well received, while it has another slew of them lined up in the pipeline that will see the light of the day in 2023.

While smartphones are well known, it is the Samsung smartwatches that also deserve to be just as better known but are not, unfortunately. Samsung just recently launched its new smartwatch models, Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 4 Classic in August 2022.

Both models were met with good reviews as users were quite impressed with its features and specifications but there have been a few updates that haven’t been as well received especially the one that led to serious issues.

The update in question is so serious that it can paralyze and disable smartwatches as there have been rampant reports from several countries and those owning this smartwatch should avoid such updates at any cost.

Samsung has issued a clarification that a limited number of Galaxy Watch 4 series models have fallen prey to bugging, although it is still unclear if all smartwatches will be disabled due to this but it has been confirmed that the bug update bears the version identifier R8xxXXU1GVI3 where ‘xx’ can be 60, 65, 70, 75, 80, 85, 90, and 95.

Samsung Galaxy Watch 4

Samsung has stopped distributing updates on the two smartwatch models as it is busy investigating the issue because it drains the battery of the watches completely. It is possible that many Indian readers are also facing this issue and has bricked their smartwatches.

What they can do is send their smartwatch to Samsung asking for a replacement because it is futile to wait for a new update to sort out the issue and avoid the clock switching off, which happens due to low battery.

Conclusion

Samsung is going to work out a solution to the problem sooner than later but anyone who is facing this battery issue in his/her smartwatch can simply replace it with a new one by consulting Samsung immediately.

  • Windows 11 Gaming Issue
  • Performance Debugging
  • Microsoft Operating System

In Brief

Games are an essential part of a youngster’s life, where you can find many that don’t lose their love for them even after growing up. You can look no further than the generation that grew up in the 90s and 2000s where they had Pokemon, Ninja Turtles, Contra, among many others at their disposal.

There can be nothing more exciting for gamers than to sit together in front of their PS5 or Xbox 360 and play their favourite ventures for hours and hours with little respite, which has been a long time practice of sorts.

Microsoft launched the Windows 11 operating system back in 2021 that was extremely well received but not by gaming aficionados as many of them pointed out a major problem in the Windows 11 22H2’s gaming performance, which they felt was not up to the mark, at least for them.

Even Microsoft had confirmed the issue regarding performance in parallel to the users, who discovered the matter the moment they started playing games like bugs and stuttering.

The issue was initially thought to be from NVIDIA Graphic cards as changing drivers did not sort things out. Despite doing their best to solve the problem, Microsoft warned that certain games and applications will perform very slowly or freeze on Windows 11 22H2.

Windows 11

After much toil, Microsoft finally discovered that it had unintentionally enabled GPU performance debugging, although it hasn’t specified what all games and applications will become slower in speed due to the bugging issue.

Microsoft has not been able to work out as to why some applications and games on Windows 11 22H2 have activated the debugging feature as it hasn’t yet worked out as to how many applications have become slow.

This isn’t the first time that users are facing an issue with the new Microsoft OS as many PC owners with AMD chips had noticed a performance drop in 2021 and even earlier, while Microsoft too has stopped automatically updating the devices that are facing the issue and are working out a solution.

It is surprising to note that it being more than a year since the launch of Windows 11 OS, there is still a sizeable portion of the Microsoft community that hasn’t yet switched to the new desktop operating system as only 15.44% of worldwide PCs have Windows 11, while 71.29% are still using Windows 10, and 9.61% using Windows 7.

Conclusion

Microsoft is well known for tackling such issues and will definitely work out a solution over the issue because a large portion of its users belong to the gaming community, i.e. they are suckers for online games.

Moto G62 Review: A Decent Option for Stock Android Aficionados

0
Moto G62 Review

Motorola with its Moto G62 is expanding its range in the budget smartphone segment encompassing a decent Android interface and 12 5G bands supported by Snapdragon 695 SoC. However, the smartphone even with everything in its specification sheet doesn’t truly offer anything new or innovative when compared to other smartphones available in the same segment. Motorola as a brand has been quite active in recent days announcing new devices at regular intervals, especially adding models in the Moto G-series. However, how this particular model scores in its overall specifications and performance is what we are discussing in this Moto G62 review.

Unboxing the brand new Moto G62, you get a USB A to USB C charging cable, a power adapter, a transparent case and a user manual apart from the handset. The dark blue cardboard box in which the smartphone comes matches the device’s colour. A quick glance at the smartphones reveals the regular design with the matte finish polycarbonate back body and a three cameras rear setup. Let’s find out more about the specifications in detail.

Quick Pros and Cons of Moto G62

Pros

  • 12 5G bands support
  • 120Hz refresh rate
  • Fast processor
  • Dual speakers

Cons

  • Underwhelming rear cameras and its performance
  • No fast charging
  • LCD display
  • Outdated design

Moto G62 Review

Design

Speaking of the design, the back has a triple camera pill-shaped module supported with an LED flash. The signature Motorola design pattern is visible in this smartphone as well. Even though it has a smooth finish and a matte glass look, the device seems to be catching fingerprints easily. The right side has the power button and volume rockers and the left side houses a regular SIM tray.

The bottom edge features a 3.5 mm headphone jack, a USB Type-C port, and a speaker grille. Moto G62 comes with Gorilla Glass 3 protection and an IP52 rating. Therefore,  users can relax as it has some protection from any external exposures. The phone also houses a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. The sensor at first glance and usage appears perfect with responses. The overall design is a decent comprehensively designed smartphone, nothing revolutionary but works well when looked at from a distance.

Display

Following the brand’s recent shift in engineering vision when it comes to Display, Moto G62 has also ditched AMOLED display for LCDs. The smartphone sports a 6.50-inch IPS LCD panel, a 1080×2400 pixel resolution function and 600 nits peak brightness. The LCD panel provides decent colours and enough vibrancy on the screen.

The display supports full high definition plus resolution and it comes with a 120Hz refresh rate which can be easily noticed when you scroll or use the device for gaming. It, however, does not have HDR certification and the colour accuracy also seems substandard. Moreover, the display has a Widevine L1 certificate, which will allow users HD streaming on the phone screen.

Camera

The Motorola G62 5G comes with a triple camera setup which looks very similar to some other smartphones released by the brand in the recent past such as Moto G42 and G52. The triple camera setup includes a main camera of 50 MP, an ultrawide lens of 8 MP and a macro camera of 2 MP. As for the front, the handset house a 16 MP front camera for selfies and other video communication. The primary lens gives decent photography capability in daylight with shots having proper detailing and sharp imagery. As for indoors, the camera works well only under well lit up interiors. The dynamic range of the camera is purely about average and most of the time the shadows don’t appear well.

Moto G62 Review

The 16 MP selfie lens in the front shoots quality selfies. However, again the quality of images looks good only when taken in broad daylight. Most of the time the highlights look overblown and selfies usually get a lot of noise in the imagery when taken in low light. The video recording feature is available at 1080p and at up to 60fps. The daylight video quality looks good. However, the video feature again struggles in low lighting conditions.

Performance

This is one aspect where Moto G62 5G scores really well and never ceases to impress even for a moment. The handset hardly glitches and provides a smooth trouble-free smartphone experience. Regular usage which involves messaging, streaming videos through OTT such as Prime Video or Netflix, calling, browsing the internet, and clicking/checking photos or other apps among other activities shouldn’t be an issue with this handset. For this optimum performance, the smartphone is powered by Snapdragon 695 chipset. It further has up to 8 GB RAM and 128 GB storage. The storage can also be expanded easily up to 1 TB.

The smartphone’s performance is reliable. The fast processor supports multitasking with multiple apps being run at the same time in the background without facing any crashes or hanging issues. The touch controls are fluid and swift.

Battery

The Moto G62 5G has been developed to be supported by a massive 5000 mAh battery. This greatly works in the favour of the smartphone. For regular moderate usage, the smartphone can easily last over a day. Light users, on the other hand, can rejoice as the battery will easily last for more than 2 days in their case.

As for charging the smartphone, Motorola has lagged behind since the smartphone has been bundled with a 20W power adapter for fast charging. This 20 W charger feature usually takes at least more than 2 hours to charge the smartphone from 0 to 100%. Considering where the technology of fast charging has reached, comparing Moto G62 with its contemporaries would make it look weaker.

WhatsApp’s New Feature to Mute Groups; Details Inside

WhatsApp

Highlights

  • New Feature Up for Grabs
  • Google Play
  • Group Notifications

In Brief

WhatsApp is the proverbial messaging platform that everyone uses that has replaced SMS service a long while back and evolved from being a mere service for sending and receiving messages to being a way to virtually communicate with near and dear ones sitting on the other side of the planet via video calls.

It has been more than a decade since WhatsApp came into existence but continues to hold fort when it comes to messaging services despite the likes of Telegram and Signal having a significant following of their own.

For any application or product to sustain itself for a long time, it has to come out with upgraded features so that people don’t lose interest over the app and start looking out for better alternatives for it, which happens quite a lot.

Fortunately, WhatsApp is among the few that does bring out features every now and then, with the latest one being something that many users will love as it has been in high demand for a long time.

A big problem that many users have had with WhatsApp is its notification feature that constantly goes off whenever a new one is generated, which has unfortunately earned WhatsApp a small notoriety of being one of the most annoying apps on Google Play.

This is why many users have demanded an automatic muting of groups so that they don’t constantly pop up a new message every second because the notifications go off whenever the message pops up.

Luckily, WhatsApp Mute feature is steadily reaching users due to which certain WhatsApp Groups will be automatically muted by the platform, which annoyingly cause vibrations or ringing on your smartphones nonstop all day and so the platform is turning off all notifications for all groups that has more than 256 members so as to avoid oversaturation.

WhatsApp Mute

WhatsApp has provided support for groups having up to 1,024 users, a big number and so all groups with more than 256 members will be muted automatically even though the messages will continue coming in, but without alerting you as the smartphone will not let you know until the app is launched.

Also Read: WhatsApp Down? Users Unable to Send or Receive Messages Across the Globe, Including India

It is a different matter for users that want to get notifications as they can turn it on if needed and if you join a large WhatsApp group with more than the requisite number of members and stop getting notifications, it is the feature to blame.

Conclusion

As mentioned, if users are joining a group with less than 256 members, the notifications will be turned on by default, which they can easily disable, but only manually, not automatically.

Realme 10 Series Launching in China on November 17

0
Realme 10 Series

Realme is launching its flagship model Realme 10 Series as soon as 17th November 2022 in China. Along with putting light on the models and monikers of the upcoming series, Realme has also tipped some specifications that are keeping spectators hooked to the fast-approaching launch date. Since, the Chinese smartphone designing and developing company has already tipped and informed the viewers in its most recent teasers of the available features in the Realme 10 Pro+, which will include a curved AMOLED panel for the front display with 120Hz refresh rate and the back of the handset adorned with the triple-rear camera setup. The upcoming Realme 10 Pro+ will also contain a new generation of eye protection technology. In all the news coming regarding the Realme 10 Pro+, it is further discovered that the handset will be generated through the MediaTek Dimensity 1080 SoC processor. Moreover, it is anticipated that the 108 MP sensor will be used in the main camera of Realme 10 Pro+, along with the 12GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage that might as well ensure great storage quality.

Apparently, the news that is making rounds talks all about the ‘plus’ model of the Realme flagship, there are barely any reports about the Realme 10 model. However, the other two flagships are sporadically spotted in the market, where it has seemed that the Realme 10 Pro handset will arrive with a flat frame and no curved edges, along with this it is assumed to see the daylight with a 64 MP triple-camera setup and the front camera for selfies with 16 MP. In line with this, the Realme 10 pro will come with a 5,000 mAh battery, assuring great power retention while doing the basic activities on the smartphone. It is further speculated that the smartphone will be helmed by the Android 13 operating system, along with 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage.

Realme 10 Series

Realme is forever known in the market as producing a bulk of smartphones every year with slightly different features owing to the diverse usage particulars by its different users, to be relevant at various levels for numerous consumers. Realme has successfully expanded its consumer base by delivering smartphones at comparatively lower prices. In the past as well, while it was the time to review the Realme 9 series people were majorly satisfied with, then recently launched handset; however, tech gurus did find some discrepancies in line with their expectations regarding its listless performance in the expense to lactate a 108 MP camera, that also produced sharp images but tailored weak video recording quality and want these features to be fulfilled with the Upcoming Realme 10 series on November 17th in china.

Conclusion

This economically friendly smartphone has never come with the easily forgettable series of flagships, and so are the expectations of the market with the Realme 10 series that is nearing its launch date. It’s best to wait for further specifications on the series before the debut.
