Apple’s future iPhone plans have surfaced in a new leak and revealed key details about the company’s expected 2027 smartphone lineup. According to popular tipster Digital Chat Station (DCS) on Weibo, Apple is already working on several next-generation iPhones including the iPhone Air 2, iPhone 18, iPhone 18e and even the iPhone 19 Pro series.

The leak also suggests that Apple’s second-generation foldable iPhone is already in the testing phase. Here are more details.

iPhone Air 2, iPhone 18 and iPhone 18e Specifications Tipped

DCS’s post on Weibo. (Translated via Google Translate)

According to DCS’s post, Apple’s 2027 lineup will include the iPhone Air 2, iPhone 18, and iPhone 18e. All three smartphones are said to feature 1.5K OLED displays although their screen sizes and refresh rates will differ.

The iPhone Air 2 is tipped to sport a 6.55-inch display with a 120Hz LTPO panel. The standard iPhone 18 is expected to feature a slightly smaller 6.3-inch 120Hz LTPO display.

Meanwhile, the iPhone 18e is said to be the most compact model in the lineup with a 6.12-inch screen. Unlike its siblings, it is expected to use a 60Hz LTPS display instead of an LTPO panel.

Launch Timeline

The latest leak aligns with previous reports regarding Apple’s launch strategy for the iPhone 18 series.

Apple is expected to introduce the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and its first foldable iPhone during the fall of 2026. The standard iPhone 18, iPhone 18e, and iPhone Air 2 are then expected to follow as part of a second launch phase in early 2027.

iPhone 19 Pro and Second Foldable iPhone Under Development

The leak further claims that Apple has already begun testing and moulding work for the iPhone 19 Pro series. While the devices are still a long way from launch, this early development cycle is in line with Apple’s usual hardware planning process, which typically starts more than a year before a product reaches the market.

Digital Chat Station also states that Apple has started testing the display for its second-generation foldable iPhone, which is currently referred to as the iPhone Ultra 2. According to an earlier report, the upcoming foldable is expected to feature a larger display than its predecessor.

The tipster also notes that the “iPhone 19” branding is only a temporary label used to describe Apple’s next-generation iPhone lineup. This means the actually moniker of the lineup could be something entirely different.

iPhone 18 Pro Series – What to Expect?

While the latest leak focuses mainly on Apple’s future lineup, previous reports have suggested that the iPhone 18 Pro models will receive significant camera upgrades.

The Pro variants are expected to feature a variable aperture camera system along with improved image sensors. Apple is also reportedly planning to further differentiate its standard and Pro models by offering more premium hardware and camera features on the higher-end devices.

As with all early leaks, these details should be treated with caution as Apple’s plans and specifications could change before the devices are officially announced.

iPhone 18 Pro Series Launch Tipped For September 8 or 9, 2026, iPhone 18e and iPhone 18 Surfaces in New Leaks

0

Highlights

  • Apple’s iPhone 18 Pro lineup is tipped to launch on September 8 or 9, 2026 alongside new Apple Watches.
  • The iPhone 18e may stick with a 60Hz LTPS TFT display, lacking ProMotion and Always-On features, while the standard iPhone 18 is expected in spring 2027.
  • Both iPhone 18 and 18e are rumoured to feature 9GB RAM with A20 chip, while Pro models and the foldable Ultra could get 12GB RAM and A20 Pro chipset.

Fresh leaks have shed more light on Apple’s upcoming iPhone 18 launch timeline and has revealed possible launch dates for the iPhone 18 Pro lineup. Details about the rumoured foldable iPhone and key hardware specifications for the iPhone 18 and iPhone 18e models have also surfaced online.

According to recent reports from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, TF International Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo and tipster Digital Chat Station, Apple is expected to split its next-generation iPhone launches across late 2026 and early 2027. Here’s more on what we know based on recent leaks.

iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone Ultra Launch Timeline (Tipped)

Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman believes Apple’s next major launch event after the summer break is most likely to take place on either September 8 or September 9, 2026. According to the report, these are the two most likely dates for Apple’s annual September event.

The event is expected to introduce the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max and Apple’s first foldable iPhone, which could be called either the iPhone Ultra or iPhone Fold. Apple is also expected to unveil the Apple Watch Series 12 and Apple Watch Ultra 4 during the same event.

Meanwhile, the standard iPhone 18 and the second-generation iPhone Air are reportedly expected to arrive later with their launch said to be pushed to spring 2027 if previous rumours and leaks prove accurate.

Gurman noted that Apple has chosen September 9 for its launch event over the past two years, although the company has previously held September launches both earlier and later. According to him, Apple generally schedules its iPhone launch event on the first Tuesday or Wednesday after Labor Day in the United States.

If the event is indeed held on September 8 or September 9, pre-orders are expected to begin on September 11. The report also suggests that the iPhone 18 Pro lineup particularly the rumoured iPhone Ultra could carry significantly higher prices.

iPhone 18e May Continue With a 60Hz Display

Another leak from Chinese tipster Digital Chat Station suggests that the upcoming iPhone 18e will retain the same display technology as the current iPhone 17e.

According to the tipster, the affordable iPhone model will continue using a 60Hz LTPS TFT display, meaning it will not support ProMotion’s 120Hz refresh rate or Apple’s Always-On Display technology. The rest of the iPhone 18 lineup is still expected to offer these features similar to the iPhone 17 series.

Digital Chat Station’s post on Weibo. (Translated via Google Translate)
Digital Chat Station’s post on Weibo. (Translated via Google Translate)

This comes despite many competing Android smartphones in a similar price segment already offering 120Hz displays.

The claim aligns with an earlier report from Korea, which suggested Apple may not introduce LTPO display panels to its affordable iPhone lineup until the fourth-generation model expected in early 2028. LTPO technology would enable adaptive refresh rates ranging from 1Hz to 120Hz.

The report further claims Apple’s future plans depend partly on the development of a next-generation “LTPO+” display technology. This new panel is said to use oxide semiconductors in both switching and drive transistors, improving power efficiency compared to existing display technologies.

Apple is reportedly planning to reserve LTPO+ displays for its premium devices including future iPhone Air models and its foldable iPhone, while standard LTPO panels could eventually become available for more affordable models. However, if the new display technology is delayed, the arrival of LTPO panels on future iPhone e-series devices could also be pushed back.

iPhone 18 and iPhone 18e Tipped to Feature 9GB RAM

TF International Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has also shared details about Apple’s memory plans for its 2027 iPhone lineup.

According to Kuo, both the standard iPhone 18 and the rumoured iPhone 18e expected to launch around March or April 2027 will come equipped with 9GB of DRAM. This would be an upgrade over the 8GB RAM available on the current iPhone 17 base models.

The new memory configuration is said to use six 1.5GB memory chips alongside Apple’s upcoming A20 processor.

Earlier rumours had suggested Apple could increase RAM to 12GB on the standard models to support more advanced on-device AI capabilities. However, Kuo claims that supply constraints and cost considerations have led Apple to settle on a 9GB configuration instead.

The upcoming A20 chipset is expected to be manufactured using TSMC’s advanced 2nm process. According to rumours, the new chip could deliver around 15 percent better CPU performance and up to 30 percent improved power efficiency over the A19 series. These improvements are expected to translate into faster day-to-day performance, better battery life, and a more capable Neural Engine for future AI features.

Meanwhile, the iPhone 18 Pro models and Apple’s first foldable iPhone, which is currently rumoured to launch as the iPhone Ultra, are expected to feature a more premium hardware package with 12GB of RAM and the A20 Pro chipset.

Ming-Chi Kuo has a strong track record when it comes to Apple-related leaks. However, these details remain based on early reports and the final specifications could change before the devices are officially unveiled.

Samsung has introduced its flagship inspired Bypass Charging feature on the Galaxy M47 5G. When users play games while the phone is connected to a charger, power is supplied directly to the processor instead of charging the battery. This helps reduce heat generation, minimises thermal throttling, and maintains stable gaming performance during extended sessions.

For photography, the Galaxy M47 5G sports a triple rear camera setup comprising a 50MP primary sensor with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), a 5MP ultra-wide camera, and a 2MP macro sensor. The primary camera uses OIS to reduce the effects of hand movements, helping capture steadier videos and sharper low-light photos. The camera system also supports 4K video recording for improved detail and colour reproduction.

Samsung has also integrated its Nightography technology into the camera app to improve image quality in low-light conditions by enhancing exposure and reducing noise. On the front, the smartphone features a 12MP HDR selfie camera designed to deliver balanced skin tones even in challenging lighting conditions.

The Galaxy M47 5G runs One UI 8.5 based on Android 16 out of the box. Samsung says the software uses automated optimisation to place inactive apps into hibernation helping reduce unnecessary battery consumption in the background.

One of the biggest highlights of the device is Samsung’s long-term software commitment. The Galaxy M47 5G will receive six generations of Android OS upgrades along with six years of security updates, setting a new benchmark in the mid-range segment.

The smartphone also comes with several AI-powered and productivity features including Google Gemini integration and Circle to Search for contextual search and smart assistance. Samsung Wallet with Tap & Pay support enables contactless NFC payments, while the on-device Voice Mail feature allows callers to leave voice messages when users are unavailable or in meetings.

For security, Samsung has equipped the Galaxy M47 5G with Knox Vault, which combines dedicated hardware-based security with software features such as Auto Blocker to safeguard biometric information and encryption keys.

Vivo X500e Tipped With Snapdragon 8-Series Chip and ZEISS Cameras, X500 Pro Max leak reveals LPDDR6 RAM and 8,000mAh-class battery

0

Highlights

  • Vivo X500e tipped with a compact 6.59″ display, Snapdragon 8-series chip, square ZEISS camera module and IMX8 periscope telephoto sensor.
  • X500 lineup may include four models such as X500e, X500, X500 Pro, and X500 Pro Max, more variants like X500s and X500 Ultra could arrive in 2027.
  • X500 Pro Max prototype features 6.85″ 2K LTPO 144Hz BOE display, LPDDR6 RAM, Dimensity 9600 Pro chip, 200MP periscope camera and 8,000mAh-class battery.

The Vivo X500 series has been part of several recent leaks and the latest information suggests the lineup could include four smartphones. Fresh leaks from tipsters Digital Chat Station and Smart Pikachu have revealed new details about the Vivo X500e, the expected X500 series variants and the flagship Vivo X500 Pro Max. Here are more details on the latest updates by tipsters and several other sources on the upcoming Vivo flagship lineup.

Vivo X500e – Key Specifications (Tipped)

Tipster Digital Chat Station’s post on Weibo. (Screenshot by Gizmochina)

According to Digital Chat Station, Vivo is working on a new e-series model under the X500 lineup. Although the tipster did not mention the phone by name, the leaked specifications suggest it could be the Vivo X500e.

The smartphone is tipped to feature a compact 6.59-inch display and be powered by a Snapdragon 8-series chipset. The leak also claims that the phone will adopt a new design featuring a square camera module positioned in the top-left corner. The camera setup is expected to include ZEISS-tuned sensors that makes it visually different from the other X500 models. The model is also rumoured to feature circular camera modules.

While the complete camera specifications remain unknown, the Vivo X500e is said to include an IMX8-series periscope telephoto camera with a large sensor.

Launch Timeline

Vivo has not officially confirmed when the X500e will launch. As a result, it is uncertain whether the device will debut alongside the other X500 series smartphones, which are expected to be powered by the upcoming Dimensity 9600-series chipset and could launch in September.

Since the X500e is rumoured to feature a Snapdragon 8-series processor, it may follow a different launch schedule. Current speculation suggests it could debut alongside the Vivo X500 Ultra, which is expected to feature Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 chipset.

If that happens, both smartphones could arrive during the first half of 2027. However, this timeline is entirely based on current market speculation for now and we have to wait for final brand confirmation.

Vivo X500 FE May Not Arrive

Vivo X300 FE in the picture. (Image credit – Vivo)

Previous reports revealed that the China-exclusive Vivo S50 Pro Mini was rebranded as the Vivo X300 FE in global markets. Vivo recently introduced the S60 series in China consisting of the S60 and S60e, also known as the Vitality Edition. Notably, the company skipped launching an S60 Pro Mini.

According to current rumours, the Vivo X500e may replace the missing S60 Pro Mini in China. If that happens, Vivo may also choose to launch the X500e in both China and global markets, which could mean there may not be a Vivo X500 FE this time.

That said, this is only based on speculation, and reports regarding the possible absence of the X500 FE should be treated with caution.

Vivo X500 Series Could Include Four Models

Tipster Smart Pikachu’s post on Weibo. (Screenshot by Gizmochina)

Another leak from tipster Smart Pikachu claims the Vivo X500 lineup will consist of four smartphones: the Vivo X500e, Vivo X500, Vivo X500 Pro and Vivo X500 Pro Max.

Although not mentioned in the latest leak, previous reports indicate that Vivo could also introduce the X500s and the X500 Ultra during the first half of 2027 expanding the lineup further.

Vivo X500 Pro Max Specifications (Leaked)

Tipster Digital Chat Station’s post on Weibo. (Screenshot by Gizmochina)

Digital Chat Station has also shared new details about the Vivo X500 Pro Max engineering prototype. The flagship smartphone is said to feature a 6.85-inch 2K LTPO display with a 144Hz refresh rate. The panel is reportedly built using LIPO packaging technology enabling ultra-slim and symmetrical bezels on all four sides. It is also expected to feature large rounded corners, a 2.5D flat design, and a BOE-supplied display panel.

The prototype is also tipped to include LPDDR6 RAM suggesting Vivo could become one of the first smartphone brands to adopt the next-generation memory standard. This further hints that the device may be powered by the upcoming Dimensity 9600 Pro chipset.

Tipster Digital Chat Station’s response to user comments on Weibo. (Screenshot by Gizmochina)

For photography, the Vivo X500 Pro Max is expected to retain a 200MP periscope telephoto camera with a large 1/1.4-inch sensor. Previous leaks also suggest it will feature a 50MP Sony LYT-838 primary camera with LOFIC technology and a 50MP IMX8-series ultra-wide camera.

On the battery front, Digital Chat Station claims Vivo is targeting a battery capacity starting with the number “8” indicating that the phone could feature an 8,000mAh-class battery. However, the battery design has reportedly not been finalised.

Since all of these details are based on an early engineering prototype, the final hardware and specifications could change before the smartphone is officially announced.

Vivo X Fold 6 foldable smartphone was recently launched in China at a starting price of 7,999 yuan (around $1,175) for the 12GB + 256GB variant. Now, Vivo has officially disclosed the repair part pricing for the X Fold 6 on its website. It gives users a clear idea of how much repairs could cost if the device is damaged.

Vivo X Fold 6 Repair Part Prices

As is the case with most foldable smartphones, the internal folding display is the costliest component to replace. Vivo has priced the complete inner display at 3,780 yuan (around $556). However, the company is offering a 25 percent discount on the first screen replacement reducing the price to 2,835 yuan (around $417).

Users who opt for a reserved or pre-booked repair can get the same component replaced for 3,380 yuan (around $497). If only the inner display panel requires replacement instead of the complete assembly, the repair cost drops to 1,899 yuan (around $279).

The external display is considerably cheaper to repair. Replacing the outer screen glass costs 299 yuan (around $44), while the complete external display assembly is priced at 920 yuan (around $135). Vivo also offers a reserved repair option for the outer display at 620 yuan (around $91).

Battery and Camera Repair Costs

Battery replacement is comparatively affordable with Vivo charging 259 yuan (around $38) for a new battery.

Repair costs for the camera modules vary depending on the sensor. Replacing the front-facing camera costs 105 yuan (around $15), while the rear ultra-wide camera is priced at 110 yuan (around $16). The rear periscope telephoto camera replacement costs 290 yuan (around $43), whereas the 200MP main rear camera is the most expensive camera component at 390 yuan (around $57).

Motherboard Replacement Prices

The cost of replacing the motherboard depends on the storage variant of the Vivo X Fold 6.

The 12GB + 256GB model requires 3,700 yuan (around $544) for a motherboard replacement. The 12GB + 512GB variant is priced at 4,200 yuan (around $617), while the 16GB + 512GB version costs 4,700 yuan (around $691). Users of the top-end 16GB + 1TB model will need to pay 5,200 yuan (around $764) for a new motherboard.

Vivo has also listed the official charger set at 199 yuan (around $29).

Labor Charges

It is worth noting that all of the prices listed above are only for replacement parts. For devices that are out of warranty, Vivo charges an additional labor fee of 50 yuan for each repair visit. If multiple components are replaced during the same service session, customers only need to pay the labor fee once.

OnePlus 16R, Nord 7 Tipped to Feature 185Hz Displays as OnePlus Expands High Refresh Rate Strategy

0

Highlights

  • OnePlus plans to make 185Hz refresh rate displays a standard feature across both flagship and mid-range smartphones.
  • The upcoming models like the OnePlus 16R and Nord 7 could also adopt 185Hz panels.
  • OnePlus 16R is expected in late 2026, while the Nord 7 may debut in early 2027.

OnePlus is reportedly gearing up to bring 185Hz refresh rate displays to more smartphones beyond its upcoming flagship lineup. While the OnePlus 16 and Ace 7 series are expected to debut with the new high refresh rate displays later this year, a fresh leak suggests that the company plans to extend the technology to its mid-range devices as well. Here are more details.

OnePlus To Expand 185Hz Displays Across Lineup

According to tipster Smart Pikachu, OnePlus is working on making 185Hz displays a standard feature across a wider range of its smartphones. The tipster claims that the company is preparing a new display strategy that will introduce these display panels with high refresh rate not only on flagship models but also on select mid-range offerings.

The brand has already introduced a couple of premium smartphones with 165Hz displays and recent rumours have suggested that the upcoming OnePlus 16 and Ace 7 series will be the first to receive upgraded 185Hz panels. The latest leak indicates that this technology may not remain exclusive to the flagship segment for long.

OnePlus 16R and Nord 7 Could Also Get 185Hz Panels

At present, the OnePlus 15, Ace 6, Ace 6T, Ace 6 Ultra, 15T, 15R, and Nord 6 are equipped with 165Hz refresh rate displays. Among these, the Ace-branded models and the OnePlus 15T are available only in China, while the OnePlus 15, OnePlus 15R and Nord 6 are sold in select global markets.

If the latest leak turns out to be accurate, the successors to all of these devices could arrive with 185Hz displays. This means the OnePlus 16R and Nord 7 may also feature the upgraded panels alongside the OnePlus 16. In China, the entire next-generation Ace 7 series is also expected to adopt 185Hz refresh rate screens.

Launch Timeline

The OnePlus 16R and Nord 7 are not expected to launch anytime soon. The OnePlus 15R was introduced in December 2025, while the Nord 6 made its debut in April 2026.

Based on OnePlus’ previous launch schedule, the OnePlus 16R is expected to arrive in late 2026 whereas the Nord 7 could make its debut in early 2027. More details around the phones and their arrival may surface in the coming weeks.
