Samsung Galaxy A18 4G Launched With New Exynos 1610 Chip, 90Hz Super AMOLED Display and 6 Years of Updates

Samsung has officially launched the Samsung Galaxy A18 4G, bringing an unexpected processor. While earlier benchmark listings had suggested that the smartphone would use a MediaTek chipset, Samsung has instead equipped it with its own Exynos 1610 processor.

In August, benchmark listings had pointed to the MediaTek Helio G99 as the chipset for the Galaxy A18 4G. The same processor has already been used in the Galaxy A15, Galaxy A16 and Galaxy A17 4G. Samsung has now gone with the Exynos 1610 instead, although there is still limited information available about the new chipset. Here’s everything you need to know about the new phone.

The Samsung Galaxy A18 4G features a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate. The phone has a flat frame with rounded edges, while the front panel uses a waterdrop-style notch for the selfie camera.

The phone carries an IP64 rating for protection against dust and water splashes. It measures 164.4 x 77.9 x 7.7 mm and weighs 196g.

As for colours, the Galaxy A18 4G is available in Black, Grey and Light Blue colour options.

Samsung Galaxy A18 4G – Key Features

The new Galaxy A18 4G is powered by an octa-core Exynos 1610 chipset with an octa-core CPU paired with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of onboard storage, which can be expanded by up to 2TB using a microSD card.

On the software front, it runs One UI 9.0 based on Android 17. Samsung will provide six years of OS and security updates for the smartphone, following the same update policy introduced with the Galaxy A17.

For photography, the Galaxy A18 4G gets a triple rear camera setup consisting of a 50-megapixel primary sensor, a 5-megapixel ultrawide camera and a 2-megapixel macro camera. The main camera comes with autofocus and supports up to 10x digital zoom, but there is no optical image stabilisation.

On the front, the phone has a 13-megapixel selfie camera with an f/2.0 aperture. The rear camera can record Full-HD video at 30fps and also supports HD slow-motion recording at up to 120fps.

Samsung has also added several Galaxy AI features to the phone including Circle to Search. The Galaxy A18 4G also comes with Gemini integration allowing users to perform tasks such as sending messages and adding calendar events using natural language.

The Galaxy A18 4G is powered by a 5,000mAh battery and supports 25W wired fast charging. Samsung claims that the phone can reach 50 percent charge in 30 minutes.

For connectivity, the smartphone supports 4G LTE, dual SIM, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC and a USB Type-C port. It also supports GPS, GLONASS, Beidou, Galileo and QZSS positioning systems.

Samsung Galaxy A18 4G Price and Availability

The base model comes with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.

In France, the phone is priced at €280. In Norway, it starts at NOK 3,290, while the starting price in Sweden is SEK 3,290. The Norway and Sweden markets will also get a 256GB storage variant, priced at NOK 5,190 and SEK 5,190, respectively.

There is no update on its arrival in India as of now.
