Vivo V80 Gets Malaysian SIRIM Approval Ahead of Expected October India Launch

The Vivo V80 appears to be getting closer to its wider launch as the upcoming smartphone has reportedly received approval from Malaysia’s SIRIM authority. Previous reports have hinted that an India launch could be planned for the first week of October, even though there is no official confirmation. Here’s more on what we know based on the latest certification.

Vivo V80 Receives SIRIM Certification

Tipster Anvin @ZionsAnvin on X has shared a screenshot of the SIRIM certification entry, which identifies the phone with model number V2648 and also confirms the smartphone name as Vivo V80.

According to the Malaysian SIRIM entry, the device is registered under VTALENT BUSINESS SDN BHD, with Vivo listed as the manufacturer. The certified model is identified as V2648, which is expected to be the Vivo V80. The listing carries the reference number RGQL/49L/0926/S(26-5043). It categorises the product as a mobile phone with the certification dated September 9, 2026.

The SIRIM approval suggest that the Vivo V80 has cleared the regulatory certification process in Malaysia, allowing the device to proceed toward sale and network use in the market.

However, Vivo has not yet officially announced the phone‘s launch date for Malaysia.

Vivo V80 – What Else We Know So Far?

Recently, tipster Yogesh Brar @heyitsyogesh on X  revealed Vivo is targeting the first week of October for the Indian launch of Vivo V80.  The phone is expected to sit in the premium segment in India with its price reportedly set above Rs 60,000.

Meanwhile, earlier leaks have suggested that the upcoming V80 will likely feature a 50-megapixel ZEISS Night Telephoto camera with support for 3X optical zoom. The camera could reportedly offer up to 10X zoom when shooting portraits, making this one of the more interesting camera features expected on the V80. The phone is also tipped to introduce a 4K cinematic video mode, which could be aimed at users who regularly create video content using their smartphones.

Among other expected specs include a 6.59-inch flat AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. The smartphone is also tipped to use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset.
