Just days after suspending the “Twitter Blue” service, the richest man in the world Elon Musk has now announced that Twitter will again be relaunching the “Twitter Blue” service on Friday, December 2, 2022 with some modifications.
Twitter Chief, while replying to a tweet revealed that the updated Twitter Blue service is going to feature many unique checkmarks specifically for different units.
Elon Musk, while replying to a question about why the user couldn’t verify their account, said, “Sorry for the delay, we’re tentatively launching Verified on Friday next week. Gold check for companies, grey check for government, blue for individuals (celebrity or not) and all verified accounts will be manually authenticated before the check activates. Painful, but necessary.” The response came to the previously posed question by the user on a thread where Musk had suggested $8 for account verification, and asked, “Elon, I’m trying. It won’t let me and I’m Verified (need to edit 1 character I can’t spell).”
What is Twitter Blue with Gold, Grey, Blue checkmarks?
The Twitter verification system is all set to go through another set of changes to make it all more streamlined. The previous Blue Checkmark of verified Twitter accounts will now be divided into three colours that include Gold, Gray, and Blue. As per details revealed by the Twitter Chief himself, going forward, the gold colour checkmark will be for organisations, the grey colour checkmark for government, and the blue colour checkmark will be for individuals (celebrity or otherwise).
Elon also specified that according to new rules and settings, all verified accounts will have to be authenticated manually before the check can be activated on user profiles.
Those Twitter users who wish to get a Checkmark and subscribe to the Twitter Blue privileges will have to pay a monthly fee of $7.99. Previously, the verified accounts as well as the blue Twitter checkmark were free for notable personalities such as politicians, famous personalities, journalists, and other public figures. Users can simply go to their Profile section on the Twitter app or the web app and Tap on Twitter Blue to pay for the subscription fee and complete the account verification process.

If you are a WhatsApp user, this new report should rightly alarm you. According to the latest Cybernews report, mobile numbers of approximately 500 million WhatsApp users across the globe have been put on sale in an incident of a massive data breach.
The report says that according to an ad posted on the hacking community forum, they are selling a large database of 487 million WhatsApp user mobile numbers from 2022 in the community. The database of mobile numbers includes users from more than 80 different nations such as the US, the UK, Italy, Egypt, and Saudi Arabia among others. The list of nations also includes India.
The mobile numbers leaked in such a data breach are generally used for phishing attacks on a large scale. Many industry experts have warned WhatsApp users across borders to be extra cautious while answering messages and calls from any numbers that are hard to recognise.
As per the Cybernews report, the seller actor has claimed during the online illegal sale of mobile numbers that the leaked database includes at least 32 million US user records. The actor has also claimed that the database includes around 45 million users from Egypt, 29 million users from Saudi Arabia, 11 million users from the UK, 35 million users from Italy, 20 million users from France, 10 million users from Russia and 20 million users from Turkey among others.
Several media reports have claimed that the data is being sold at a heavy rate. The report reveals, “threat actor is selling the US dataset for $7,000 (approx. ₹5,71,690). While the cost for the UK and Germany datasets is $2,500 (approx. ₹2,04,175) and $2,000 (approx. ₹1,63,340), respectively.”
It must be noted that there has been any official word yet on whether the data is genuine and the entire Cybernews story is based on the claim made in the hacking community. This is also not the first time a Meta owned platform is facing massive data breach allegations. A similar incident was reported last year as well when information from over 500 million Facebook users was offered online at no cost.

According to a recently released and now partially redacted document from Sony, the company has scheduled the official release of the PlayStation to be after 2027, which is almost five years away. Although Consoles usually have a longer lifespan, many users were quick to express their surprise about the 7-year lifecycle of PlayStation 5, which had a 2020 release.
The document was made public as a part of the UK’s Competition and Markets Authority investigation regarding the acquisition of Activision Blizzard by Microsoft. PlayStation Lifestyle was the online portal to first carry the document and catch the PlayStation 6 release timeline. The document also revealed the release window of the next Xbox Console, which it seems is also almost 7 years away.
Sony has already expressed grave concerns about Microsoft’s acquisition bid to take over Activision Blizzard. The company is particularly concerned because Call of Duty is most likely to become an Xbox exclusive in the near future. It has repeatedly claimed that the Microsoft acquisition of Activision Blizzard “will harm competition, industry players, and users.”
According to an international gaming magazine, CMA has also expressed its concerns about Microsoft owing Call of Duty once the acquisition deal is complete. The regulator, while speaking to the media, mentions, “This impact is likely to be felt especially at the launch of the next generation of consoles, where gamers make fresh decisions about which console to buy.”
As a response to the concerns voiced by different stakeholders in the industry, Microsoft and Activision said that they “do not dispute that some portion of gamers are likely to re-assess their console ownership at the start of a new generation. This is an event that only occurs approximately every eight years. The next new generation of consoles are not expected to be released before the fall of 2028 at the very earliest.”

Revealing the details of the feature in an official blog post, Google noted, “We specifically heard from the transgender community that resurfacing certain photos is painful, so we’ve been working with our partners at GLAAD and listening to feedback to make reminiscing more inclusive.”
The announcement was accompanied by some more features the tech giant had announced during the 2021 I/O developers conference. These other features were specifically developed to make the platform much more inclusive. It included a more accurate camera and AI-based cinematic photo for representing the more natural brown skin tones expanding Google’s skin tone data set. The Addams Family is a popular IP among groups of all ages. Since its beginning in 1938 by the creator “Charles Addams,” we have seen many iterations of everyone’s favourite spooky family in movies, TV shows, comics, and animated series. Netflix has added an 8-episode Addams Family spin-off series centred on the character Wednesday Addams to the franchise’s long list.
The first 4 episodes of the series are directed by the legendary director Tim Burton, the fifth and sixth episodes are directed by Gandja Monteiro, and the seventh and eighth are directed by James Marshall. The Titular character is played by Jenna Ortega, who was tremendous as young Jane in Jane the Virgin.
This tone and style of the series are perfect as they are spooky and are under Tim Burton’s control. Jenna Ortega plays a very likeable, stoic, Gothic, and calm female. The series seems to have struck the proper balance between making Addams Family fans nostalgic and providing streaming consumers with a fresh plot to immerse themselves in. Christina Ricci, who played a younger version of Wednesday in the movies, is also a great advantage for the show.
