Nokia 3.4 Review: Refreshing Contours but is that enough?

0

Nokia has finally announced the launch of Nokia 3.4 which the company was delaying for a long time. The new Nokia 3.4 is the latest entrant in the budget range where it is sure to face tough competition from the likes of Redmi Note 9, Poco M3, Realme Nazro 20A, etc. In this review of ours, we will highlight what the new Nokia 3.4 has to offer to make it stand in the top tier of the competition.

Design

Nokia has used the unique pattern design on the new Nokia 3.4 as well which we have seen earlier in Nokia 5.3 and Nokia 5.4. The pattern design at the rear side of the phone is giving an aesthetic appeal to the phone. The phone size is compact and fits the palm quite comfortably and thanks to the curvy edges the phone has a better grip as well. The bodyweight of the phone is light as the company has used plastic body which reduces some amount of body weight. The company is now accustomed to using the circular frame at the rear side to incorporate the camera sensors and the new Nokia 3.4 also has the same circular frame inside of which lies a triple camera sensor and an LED flash. The rear side also has a physical fingerprint sensor which is quite fast to respond to touch. The front side of the phone sports a huge display and a punch hole notch. The use of punch hole notch in the Nokia 3.4 which is a budget range phone is something that will get the attention of the users. The placement of the buttons is just like the previously launched Nokia phones whereon the left side lies a Google Assistant button and a dual-SIM tray and a dedicated micro SD card slot and on the right side the power button and the volume rocker. The top of the phone holds a 3.5mm headphone jack, while the bottom is having a USB-C charging port and speaker grille.

Display

The Nokia 3.4 comes with 6.39-inch IPS LED screen and has an aspect ratio of 19:5:9. The screen offers wide viewing space and the colors produced on the screen maintain a good contrast level. The bezels on the screen are quite prominent on the bottom side of the screen where lies the logo of the company whereas the bezels on the sides are slim. The display has a screen resolution of 720×1560 pixels and has 400nits brightness which enables the screen to be visible under bright daylight.

Cameras

Nokia 3.4 has three rear camera sensors which when tested provided satisfying results. The primary sensor is of 13MP wide lens. The secondary sensor is a 5MP ultrawide lens and the third lens is a 2MP depth sensor. The images captured during the daytime maintained a good color level with an average contrast level. Sometimes the images get over-sharpened but overall the quality is ok to be for a smartphone in this price range. Increasing the resolution makes the images unstable so I would suggest using the camera lens in their default mode. The images captured at night were of average quality, not something very exciting. The flashlight though assists you to capture a good amount of light in dim lighting conditions. At night there are some graining and noise effect visible. Overall, it could be said that the Nokia 3.4 delivers an average quality of images which is to me is ok when we look at the price tag of the phone but it surely falls a little bit behind Redmi Note 9 in the camera section. The selfie sensor is 8MP which delivers selfies of good quality as the selfie captured were clear and bright. The selfies did not possess any unwanted effect which we liked about the selfie sensor. Nokia 3.4 can record videos in 1080p@30fps and there is not stability feature so the videos recorded will be a little shaken up if you won’t keep the camera steady.

Platform

The new Nokia 3.4 is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 460 processor which has eight cores where four cores are clocked at 1.8GHz Cortex- A73 and the rest four cores are clocked at 1.8GHz Cortex- A53. The processor is mediocre as it is only good for using light applications. The processor gets slow while using heavy apps and multitasking. You have to be very patient while multitasking as it takes few seconds to launch the apps. The 4GB RAM though provides some power to the processor to carry out the tasks. The ROM size of the phone is 64GB which can be expanded with the help of a dedicated microSD card slot. The gaming experience is not that so good as the phone fails to impress us while playing 3D games. The normal games run smoothly but if you try to switch to big games then the phone gets extremely slow.

Nokia 3.4 has the Android 10 stock version and just like the previously launched phones from Nokia, it will be able to receive the update of Android 11 whenever it will be available. The Android One has a clear interface which we liked.

Battery

The battery power of the Nokia 3.4 is impressive as it is powered by 4,000mAh battery power. The battery can last a day if it is used moderately otherwise if you prefer heavy usage like watching movies for hours, browsing, or playing games for hours then you have to charge it once again to make it last a day. The battery draining could have been avoided if the processor would have been more powerful. The charging speed is moderate and the phone comes with a 10W charger and it takes few hours to completely charge the phone.

Conclusion

The Nokia 3dot4 comes with decent cocktail of features and pricing. The smartphone comes in attractive colour options that feel refreshing. The display provides enough area to enjoy content. Cameras do as expected, not very detailed but, can manage decent clicks. The octa-core QS chipset assists the 3dot4 comfortably. The battery can take you for a day under normal conditions. The Nokia 3.4 sells at Rs 11,999 for the base variant of 4GB and that makes it stay away from the crowd with stock Android and Nordic feel.

Motorola e7 Power Review: Huge Battery, Clean OS, and Type-C in Budget

0

Motorola has added a new smartphone to its e-series with the launch of Motorola e7 Power. The e-series of Motorola is one of the successful series from the company in the budget range section as the e-series was once on top of the budget range section in the Indian smartphone market. The company is eyeing to capture its top spot in the budget range with the launch of Motorola e7 Power. So, we will be looking at all the features that the new Motorola e7 Power has to offer and whether it can emerge as a new favorite in the budget range section.

Design

The new Motorola e7 Power comes with a general look meaning it’s neither too catchy nor too dull. The phone has a light body weight which is due to the plastic body of the phone. The phone fits the hand quite easily and the curvy edges provide a better grip to operate the phone comfortably. The front fascia of the phone is dominated by the tall screen with a waterdrop notch. The backside has dual rear camera sensors followed by an LED flash within a frame that is slightly protruded outside. At the middle of the rear side lies the physical fingerprint sensor which has a quick response rate. The right side has tri-buttons, one for power, one for volume, and a customizable side key that can be used for specific tasks or apps. The left side offers a hybrid SIM tray in which you get two SIM slots with a microSD slot. The bottom side has a USB Type-C port for 10W charging and a microphone while the 3.5 mm is at the top side, the loudspeakers are at the backside.

Display

Motorola e7 Power comes with 6.5 inches Max Vision HD+touchscreen with an aspect ratio of 20:9. The display offers wide viewing angles which allow you to enjoy games, movies and edit documents very comfortably. The phone has a screen resolution of 720×1600 pixels and has 269 PPI density making the screen visible under bright daylight when adjusted to the maximum brightness level. The colors produced on-screen are bright and vivid. The screen is quite good considering the price range in which the new e7 Power falls.

Platform

The Moto e7 Power runs on Android 10 with a clean stock interface, bloatware-free which is one of the good things which we like about Motorola phones.

Motorola e7 power comes with an entry-level processor which is MediaTek Helio G25 with eight octa cores where four cores are clocked at 2.0 GHz Cortex-A53 four cores are clocked at 1.5 GHz Cortex-A53. The processor does a decent job handling the tasks but you can’t indulge in heavy multitasking. The processor is good for light apps and it struggles while using big apps. To support the gaming and graphic applications the phone has PowerVR GE8320 GPU. The graphic support is good for average games but you cannot play heavy games on this phone because the graphic level degrades and it takes a lot of time to load the heavy games. The processor is supported by 4GB RAM which helps the processor to maintain stability while using the applications. Motorola e7 Power has 64GB ROM and it can be extended with the help of a microSD card but for that, you have to sacrifice one of the SIM slots.

Cameras

Motorola e7 Power offers a good quality of images in the budget range section. The images which we captured from the rear camera sensors stood out to be exciting as they maintained a good color level and clarity. The portrait shots were decent with the right focus level on the subject. The focus of the rear camera sensors at daytime was good as we were able to capture some well-detailed images and the contrast level was average as well. The images captured at night were not as good as the images captured at daytime but they can be considered of average quality. There was some noise and graining effect when we increased the resolution both at daytime and night and the focus level also gets distorted. The dual rear camera sensors hold such configurations where the primary sensor is 13MP with an aperture of f/2.0 which is also the wide lens. The secondary sensor is a 5MP macro lens with an aperture of f/2.4. For selfie lovers, there is a 5MP selfie sensor with an aperture of f/2.2. The selfies captured were of good quality with no extra effects on your face. The camera interface includes Portrait mode, Manual mode, Macro mode, Panorama mode, and a video mode that records videos at 1080p resolution at 30 fps.

Battery

The new Motorola e7 Power comes with an impressive battery power of 5,000mAh. The battery is long-lasting and while testing its longevity we found out that the battery can last a day easily with moderate use. To charge the phone it has a 10W Charger which charges the phone completely within few hours. The Type-C port makes it a worth deal too in its segment which is a rarity.

Conclusion

The Motorola e7 Power constitutes the elements of being a complete smartphone in the budget segment such as a high capacity battery backup, dual rear lenses, and a huge sized display. At Rs7,499, the moto e7 Power beats its rivals with clean performance and yes of course, the Type-C charging port availability makes it even more desirable. The smartphone suffices the ongoing demand of e-learning and online classes with its features.

The Indian advertising industry is expected to grow to USD 19 billion by 2025 from the current USD 10 billion. Airtel Ads is well-positioned to capture a meaningful share of the growing pie with its sharp focus on quality, it said.
