Redmi 12

HIGHLIGHTS

* Xiaomi recently launched Redmi 12 in Thailand.
* The smartphone is an upgraded variant of Redmi 12C.
* A report reveals the Indian launch timeline of the new device.

Xiaomi made its latest move in the budget segment with the release of the Redmi 12 in Thailand.
The brand is yet to bring the phone to one of its major strongholds – India.
The phone is not yet available in the market, but that will change pretty soon as the phone is set to debut in the country.

Xiaomi is working on the upcoming Redmi Note 13 series smartphones, which will debut in December or January 2024. Recently, one of the forthcoming devices was spotted in the IMEI database.

Redmi 12

However, the company has continued launching smartphones as part of the Redmi Note 12 series branding.
The Chinese OEM has unveiled over a dozen smartphones under the Note 12 branding.

After multiple leaks and rumours, Xiaomi recently unveiled the Redmi 12 smartphone in Thailand.

The company is expected to launch the new Redmi smartphone in India next week.
A new report from Xiaomiui has revealed the launch timeline of the upcoming smartphone.
The device would be priced above Redmi 12C and features slight improvements over the existing device.

Redmi 12: Launch Imminent with the Indian Software

Redmi 12

According to experts at Xiaomiui, the phone will land soon in the Indian market. It will come with the market-specific software V14.0.2.0.TMXINXM.

It’s common for Xiaomi to split its releases into three distinct regions: China (CN), Global (G or EU), and India (IN).

As we can see, the V14.0.2.0.TMXINXM has the “IN” for India. Now that the software is finalized, it’s just a matter of time until Redmi India schedules a launch for the local Mi fans.

Redmi 12

The differences between EU, IN, and Global ROMs are mostly in the number of languages available and some market-specific details.
The Chinese version of MIUI is the one that differs more from the other three branches.

Xiaomi is popular in India and the Redmi smartphone series is always among the best-selling devices in the market. So it makes perfect sense for the brand to move to the Indian market.
The device is a nice budget option for consumers that don’t need 5G.

The Redmi 12 packs a 6.79-inch LCD screen with a 90 Hz refresh rate. It has a Full HD+ resolution with 2,460 x 1,080 pixels and a punch-hole for the selfie snapper.

Redmi 12

Under the hood, the phone boasts the aging MediaTek Helio G88 with up to 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of Internal Storage.
The phone has a triple-camera setup with a 50 MP main camera, an 8 MP ultrawide snapper, and a 2 MP depth sensor.
There is a modest 8 MP shooter for selfies and video calls.

The Redmi 12 draws power from a 5,000 mAh battery with 18W charging.
The phone has micro SD card support, a 3.5 mm audio jack, Bluetooth 5.3, and an IR Blaster.

The phone is available for about €151,99 which comes to about INR 13,660.
The Redmi 12 has an appealing price and offers a decent set of specs for Indian users that don’t need a powerhouse or 5G connectivity.
It’s also a better offering than the Redmi A2 or A2+ smartphones.
Hence, it should find its audience in the market despite the strong competition.

Redmi 12 Launch Timeline and Specifications

Redmi 12

Xiaomiui has spotted the Indian firmware of the upcoming Redmi smartphone in the official MIUI server.
The report reveals that the upcoming device will have the build number V14.0.2.0.TMXINXM.
The “IN” in the firmware denotes that the software is made for the Indian market.
The “IN” would be replaced by “EU” and other codes for smartphones in other markets.

The report adds that Xiaomi might launch the smartphone in the first week of July. We can expect Redmi India to officially announce the smartphone’s launch date in the upcoming days.

Redmi 12

Xiaomi had priced the smartphone at TBH 5,299 (approx. Rs 12,530) for the base variant with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage.
The company hadn’t revealed the pricing of the other variants with 4GB RAM and 128GB storage and 8GB RAM and 256GB storage.

Xiaomi is speculated to price the smartphone at Rs 10,999 for the base variant with 4GB RAM and 128GB storage.

The smartphone offers a better display, processor, camera, and fast charging support than the Redmi 12C smartphone.
Xiaomi has launched the vanilla Redmi 12 smartphone in Midnight Black, Sky Blue, and Polar Silver colour options in Thailand.

Redmi 12 The company equips the smartphone with a 6.79-inch display with a Full HD+ resolution.
Underneath, it is equipped with MediaTek Dimensity Helio G88 SoC which is built on a 12nm process.

The chipset is paired with Mali G52 GPU, up to 8GB of RAM, and 256GB of storage. The smartphone runs on MIUI 14 based on Android 13 out of the box.

Regarding optics, the device has a triple rear camera setup with a 50MP primary camera, 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 2MP macro sensor. The smartphone is backed by a 5000 mAh battery which supports 18W fast charging tech.

Flipkart Launches Exchange Program for Non-Functional Smartphones and Appliances

0

 Highlights

* Customers can now upgrade by exchanging used, non-functional electronic and large appliances purchased from anywhere
* Customers benefit from attractive buyback offers, hand-in-hand exchange of upgraded products, and the convenience of doorstep pick-up of non-working appliances
* Necessary measures will be taken to erase the data residing in mobile phones – smartphones and feature phones, and laptops before being refurbished or disposed responsibly
* Flipkart’s new exchange program covers smartphones, feature phones, laptops, and even home appliances.
* Flipkart will arrange the pickup of defunct products for a hassle-free experience.
* Flipkart has partnered with authorised vendors for the safe handling of e-waste.

Product exchange schemes from online shopping platforms help users get rid of their old devices and save money on new purchases at the same time.

However, these schemes come with a major condition that those old devices should be functioning. Flipkart is changing this with its new exchange program that allows users to exchange their non-functional smartphones and appliances. Here is everything you need to know about the program.

Flipkart, India’s homegrown e-commerce marketplace, today announced the launch of an Exchange Program for non-functional appliances, smartphones, and feature phones.  This program will allow customers to exchange their defunct large and electronic appliances for upgraded products ranging from appliances like television, refrigerator, and washing machine to laptops, smartphones, and feature phones.

The program is designed to address the concerns of customers who find it challenging to dispose of their non-functional appliances. Flipkart’s exchange program eliminates the cumbersome tasks of identifying a vendor for selling or exchanging defunct appliances and arranging the delivery of large appliances. With this program, customers will not only enjoy a hassle-free process of disposing of their inoperative appliances but also get an exchange value that can be used to purchase an upgraded product.

By converting non-functional products into currency, the program further aims to reduce electronic waste (e-waste) generated by improper disposal. Flipkart has partnered with authorised vendors to ensure responsible disposal of e-waste. Depending on the condition of the defunct product, it will be refurbished, recycled, or disposed of responsibly by authorised vendors.

Commenting on the launch, Ashutosh Singh Chandel, Senior Director & Business Head, Re-Commerce at Flipkart, said, “India is the third largest e-waste generator in the world (with 3.2 million tonnes in 2019); however, only 10 percent of the waste is collected for recycling, as per MEITY policy paper (source) which necessitates the shift to a more circular approach for the sector. With the new exchange program for non-functional appliances, we want to provide our customers with an innovative, sustainable, and convenient solution to discard unused electronic and large appliances and upgrade to a product they aspire to have. Apart from benefitting our valued customers, this program will act as a catalyst to transition to a circular economy and reduce the impact on the environment.“

Flipkart, through its extensive logistics network and efficient tech-driven processes, will enable the exchange in a single visit, ensuring a convenient and hassle-free experience.

Flipkart Exchange Program for Non-functional Smartphones and Appliances

India’s leading eCommerce platform Flipkart has launched a new exchange program that will allow users to exchange non-functional smartphones and appliances. The program covers different product categories including smartphones, feature phones, and laptops. Customers can even exchange defunct home appliances like televisions, refrigerators, and washing machines.

The aim of the program is to not only help customers get rid of their dead devices but also reduce e-waste at the same time. This is the reason Flipkart has teamed up with authorised vendors for the safe handling of e-waste. From the customer’s perspective, they can now give their non-working devices to the company instead of throwing them away along with other garbage or looking for a relevant buyer themselves.

Another good thing is Flipkart is even offering exchange value for defunct devices offered by the user. It is currently unknown what value will be provided and what would be the criteria for finalizing the exchange value. The company will also take care of device pickup which is specifically beneficial in the case of heavy appliances.
Flipkart says defunct devices will get refurbished, recycled, or disposed of based on their condition. The first priority of the team will be to check if it can be refurbished. If not, the device will be checked for recycling process and at last for proper and responsible disposal.

What the new exchange program offers

Flipkart reveals that the new exchange program is designed to address the concerns of customers who find it challenging to dispose of their non-functional appliances. With this program, Flipkart aims to offer a hassle-free process of disposing inoperative appliances to its customers. Along with this, the exchange program will also offer an exchange value that can be used to purchase an upgraded product.
With this exchange program Flipkart also aims to reduce electronic waste generated by improper disposal. Depending on the condition of the defunct product, it will be refurbished, recycled, or disposed of responsibly by authorised vendors.

What company said about the exchange program

Ashutosh Singh Chandel, senior director & business head, Re-Commerce at Flipkart, said, “India is the third largest e-waste generator in the world (with 3.2 million tonnes in 2019); however, only 10 percent of the waste is collected for recycling, as per MEITY policy paper (source) which necessitates the shift to a more circular approach for the sector. With the new exchange program for non-functional appliances, we want to provide our customers with an innovative, sustainable, and convenient solution to discard unused electronic and large appliances and upgrade to a product they aspire to have. Apart from benefitting our valued customers, this program will act as a catalyst to transition to a circular economy and reduce the impact on the environment.”

The Realme Narzo 60 series has been making rounds of the internet since the beginning of the month.

It is now time for a new leak that gives us a good look at the phone’s design. It also offers details about the colour options and possible back panel finish.

Realme Narzo 60 Series Martian Horizon Design Leaked

The folks over at 91Mobiles have received an exclusive Realme Narzo 60 series smartphone design render. It shows the smartphone from the back and reveals important details.
The Narzo 60 5G design is reportedly called “Martian Horizon” as it is inspired by the Mars landscape.
It is bright Orange in colour but there will likely be other colour options as well.
The smartphone has a big, round rear camera module similar to what we saw with the Realme 11 Pro series.
However, it is expected to be a 100-megapixel primary sensor. The leaked camera module design is surely in line with the official Realme teasers.

There is Narzo branding towards the bottom and the overall feel of the design is quite premium. The report says the Realme Narzo 60 series smartphone will likely have a vegan leather finish. The phone will have volume up and down buttons on the right side.

Realme Narzo 60 Series Specifications and Features

While many details about the upcoming Realme Narzo 60 series are under wraps, the company has already teased a few. Realme is touting the phone’s storage capacity to be enough for storing over 2,50,000 photos. There are speculations that the phone will have up to 1TB of storage space.
The Narzo 60 series is further teased to feature a 61-degree arch panel with a centred punch-hole. It essentially means the phone will have a curved display. Realme is also teasing a luxury vegan textured design for the series. Some rumours suggest Realme Narzo 60 Pro 5G could arrive as the rebadged Realme 11 Pro 5G. The launch date is unknown but recent teasers and leaks suggest it is around the corner.

Here’s a first look at the Realme Narzo 60 series ‘Martian Horizon’ design

Realme is gearing up to launch its latest generation of Narzo series smartphones in India soon.

However, prior to an official announcement, a new leak has offered us a first look at the upcoming device’s brand new design.

Realme Narzo 60 leaked with Martian Horizon design

According to a report ,a source close to the matter has revealed the design of the Chinese smartphone maker’s new Narzo 60 smartphone. This leak offers us a first look at the device and showcases a design that the company calls the ‘Martian Horizon’. As the name suggests, the brand is taking inspiration from the fourth planet in our solar system, Mars. Looking at the leaked image, we can see the Narzo 60’s rear panel in all its glory.

The device features a large circular camera island on an orange rear panel. This bright color is clearly inspired by the Martian landscape, although, the design of this device looks quite similar to the Realme 11 Pro series that was recently launched in India. The designs are especially similar when it comes to the rear camera module. While finer details are unclear, the back of the Narzo 60 series also appears to feature a faux leather design, similar to the 11 Pro series.

Apart from this, the image reveals that the right side of the device houses the volume rockers and power buttons. The sides feature an aluminum frame and the corners are rounded as well. Unfortunately, key specs of the new Realme Narzo 60 series are still unclear, but it is expected to launch in at least one variant with a massive 1TB of internal storage.

Faqs

1) What is Realme Narzo 60 series design details?

Ans)Realme’s next smartphone launch in India is going to be the Narzo 60 series which will come with 5G support. We’ve also got our hands on an exclusive image of the Realme Narzo 60 series phone that gives us a good look at its rear design. At first glance, one will be reminded of the Realme 11 Pro series that launched in India recently. This is evident from the wide circular camera module at the back.
The Realme Narzo 60 5G is seen in a bright Orange colour and the company will be calling it ‘Martian Horizon’ as it is inspired by the landscape of Mars. The same is echoed on the phone’s teaser page on Amazon. The phone also appears to have a vegan leather finish. The volume rocker and volume buttons are located on the right side of the phone.

Overall, the Realme Narzo 60 5G sports a premium look, and has a strikingly different appearance than its predecessor. It will also come with a curved display, suggested by the teaser on Amazon.

2) Realme Narzo 60 5G: what we know so far?

* According to its teaser page on Amazon, the Realme Narzo 60 will feature a curved display with a 61-degree curvature.
* The smartphone will also feature a punch-hole display with the camera placed at the top centre.
* Realme has also teased that the biggest storage variant will be able to house 250,000 photos. This hints that the Realme Narzo 60 5G will come with up to 1TB storage.

3) Realme will unveil the Narzo 60 series on July 6, offers a peek at the design.Details?

Ans) Realme has scheduled the unveiling of the Narzo 60 series for July 6 (Thursday next week), the event will go live at 12 noon local time.

The company also gave fans a peek at the design that will be used for the upcoming series. And it’s a design that we’ve already seen – save for the “NARZO” that is printed on the back, this looks a lot like the Realme 11 Pro/11 Pro+. Well, almost, the Narzo version lacks the decorative stitching that runs along the spines of the 11 Pro duo. This particular colorway is dubbed “Martian Horizon”.

The company will launch two phones: the Narzo 60 and Narzo 60 Pro. Presumably, these will be quite similar to the Realme 11 Pro duo. If you look closely, you can just make out “100MP” written on the back, that’s the resolution of the Realme 11 Pro. The Pro+ model has a 200MP main camera (and 8MP ultra wide), but we don’t know if the image above depicts the vanilla Narzo 60 or the 60 Pro.
The Realme 11 Pro+ has proven to be a hit in India, scoring a record-breaking first sale. Together with the Realme 11 Pro they dominated the ₹20,000-₹30,000 segment on Flipkart.
And that is one key difference between the Realme 11 phones and the Narzo 60 phones – the Narzo pair will live in the Amazon India store, you can track new developments on this landing page.

Note that unofficial info (Geekbench results) showed that the Narzo 60 will be powered by the Dimensity 6020 whereas both Realme 11 Pro models use the Dimensity 7050 instead.

The 6020 uses older tech (7nm vs 6nm, Cortex-A76 vs. A78, Mali-G57 vs. G68), so looks can be deceiving and the two series could be more different than they appear at first glance.

Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event

Samsung is all set to unveil its next generation foldable smartphones. The company has confirmed some details about its next Galaxy Unpacked event in which the company will launch its new foldable smartphones. Scheduled for July, the event will take place in South Korea specifically at COEX in Samseong-dong, Gangnam. During this event, Samsung will unveil its latest foldable smartphones, namely the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Galaxy Z Fold 5. Alongside these foldable devices, Samsung is also expected to showcase its Galaxy Watch 6 and Galaxy Tab S9 series, adding to the excitement and anticipation surrounding the event.

Samsung Galaxy M34 5G India Launch: What You Need to Know

The Samsung Galaxy M34 5G will likely be one of the most affordable smartphones in India to feature a 6000mAh battery under the hood. The device is set to debut in India on July 7. Samsung has revealed some key features of the phone already. For starters, there will be a 50MP camera sensor on the back. The primary camera of the phone will offer optical image stabilisation (OIS) support. Samsung claims that its “no-shake camera” can shoot high-resolution and shake-free photos and videos, eliminating blurred images caused by hand tremors or accidental shakes.

The phone also features Monster Shot 2.0 feature that uses AI Engines to capture up to 4 videos and 4 photos in a single shot. There are some other camera features, such as Nightography, Fun Mode, etc.

Samsung has officially teased the design of the phone, which shows a triple-camera setup on the back. However, the details about the other two sensors have been kept under wraps.

The company, meanwhile, has claimed that the 6000mAh battery will last up to 2 days. These claims are, of course, lab-tested stats and the real-world results might vary depending on the usage.

The device is also confirmed to feature a smooth 120Hz refresh rate support. Samsung revealed that the Galaxy M34 5G will feature a Super AMOLED panel.

This is an upgrade over the outgoing model, which was launched last year with an IPS LCD panel.
The company has not confirmed the display size, processor, RAM and storage details of the phone at the time of writing this. Some leaks suggested that the phone might be a rebadged version of the Galaxy A34 5G.

However, looking at the teased specifications, we feel that the Galaxy M34 5G will be a different device.

The phone might launch in India with up to 8GB of RAM and 128GB/ 256GB of storage. It is also likely to offer 25W fast charging. Like most Samsung phones launching in 2023, you are unlikely to get a charger in the box.

The Galaxy M34 5G is also expected to boot Android 13 out of the box. It will have a layer of One UI 5.1 on top of Android.

HIGHLIGHTS

* Nothing Phone (2) is two weeks away from its July 11th debut.
* Nothing has now announced its partnership with Swedish House Mafia for a customised ringtone pack.
* It will be available through a new Glyph Composer that will most likely debut with Nothing OS 2.0.
* Nothing Phone (2) will get new light and sound setup at the back.
* The new 5G phone will go on pre-order on July 29 via Flipkart.

Nothing has been keeping everyone engaged with the launch of its upcoming smartphone, the Nothing Phone (2). It has been teasing the phone by revealing information bit by bit.

The latest official announcement is about Nothing collaborating with Swedish DJ trio Swedish House Mafia to launch a Glyph Sound Pack for the Nothing Phone (2).

It is no secret that the Nothing Phone (2) is launching on July 11. It is impressive to see that this is just the second generation phone from the company and people are already excited about the next Nothing phone, which is something that is pretty much evident on social media.

The credit mostly goes to its unique design approach combined with well-balanced specifications. Nothing has posted a new video, revealing that the Phone (2) will feature a new light and sound setup at the back.

Users will also be able to compose ringtones. Here is everything you need to know.

Nothing Phone (2) to get new light and sound setup at the back

The Nothing Phone (2) seemingly has a semi-transparent back panel design with a new light and sound setup, which looks pretty cool. It shows changes in the appearance of the LED strip and wireless charging coil.

Both elements are now broken into multiple parts. So, users get more options to customize different lights and accordingly compose sound for it.

In a post, the company revealed that the new 5G phone will have a Glyph Composer, which will let you personalize and remix Swedish House Mafia’s custom sounds. One will just be required to tap the pads to trigger different light as well as sound combinations and compose their own Glyph Ringtone, as shown in the above image. Nothing has also announced that the new ‘Glyph Composer’ feature will also be available on the Nothing Phone (1) smartphone, suggesting that this will be part of the latest Nothing OS 2.0 version.

Nothing x Swedish House Mafia

Nothing has partnered with the Swedish house music DJ trio to create an exclusive Glyph Sound Pack for the Phone (2) and Phone (1) as well.

These are customised ringtones made with this new feature called the ‘Glyph Composer’ that will most likely debut with Nothing OS 2.0. The ringtone synchronises with the Glyph Interface which is the set of white LEDs on the back of the phone.
With the Glyph Composer, you will be able to personalise and remix the custom sounds created by Swedish House Mafia. You can do so by tapping the pads to produce different light and sound combinations. This way you can compose your own Glyph Ringtone.
This is going to be available for the Nothing Phone (1) but there’s no release date yet. Since Nothing OS 2.0 is debuting with the Nothing Phone (2), the software upgrade is expected to reach Phone (1) around the same time.

The Nothing Phone (2) is getting fully official on July 11, and as we get closer to that date, Nothing is doing everything it can to stay in the news cycle almost every day.

Case in point – it’s now announced that house music group Swedish House Mafia has composed an exclusive Glyph Sound Pack for the upcoming device.
You can get a taste for it by playing the video in the embedded tweet below.

The Phone (2) will also launch with the new Glyph Composer on board, which allows you to personalize and remix Swedish House Mafia’s custom sounds.

You simply tap the pads to trigger different light and sound combinations to make your very own Glyph Ringtone.
If you have a Nothing Phone (1), worry not, for the Glyph Composer is also headed to that device.

A release timeframe is unclear right now, but Nothing did say in the past that Nothing OS 2.0, the software the Phone (2) will launch running, would make it to the Phone (1) by the end of August.

If we were to speculate, we’d guess this Glyph Composer feature will be part of that update.

From the video we can see that the Nothing Phone (2) has a non-curved screen, which is no surprise really since it’s rumored to stay about as iPhone-inspired as its predecessor, and iPhones don’t have curved screens either. The sides are also, unsurprisingly, flat, and there seem to only be two cameras on the rear once again. The selfie camera also appears to be center-mounted, not left-aligned.

Nothing Phone (2) launch

Nothing Phone (2) is launching globally on July 11th.

The smartphone will be available in India, and you can pre-order it from June 29th onwards via Flipkart. There are pre-order offers such as a 50 percent discount on Nothing accessories.

Nothing Phone (2) specifications

* Display: The smartphone will feature a 6.7-inch display since the company said it will be 0.15 inches bigger than the Phone (1).

* Processor: It will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset.

* Battery: Nothing Phone (2) is also confirmed to pack a 4,700mAh battery.

Other confirmed specifications of Nothing Phone (2)

The upcoming Nothing phone is confirmed to pack a 6.7-inch screen. Comparatively, the Nothing Phone (1) offers a 6.55-inch display.

We do expect the company to offer support for wireless charging tech because the same was available on the first-generation phone too.

In one of the tweets, Nothing also revealed that the latest 5G phone will pack a bigger 4,700mAh battery under the hood.

The new mid-range phone will be powered by Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC under the hood.

Nothing Phone (2) pre-order details revealed

The company’s official website revealed that the Nothing smartphone will be up for pre-order in India starting July 29, and the window will be open via Flipkart.

Nothing has already announced sale offers that will be available during the pre-order event. Consumers will get a 50 percent discount on Nothing accessories.

Nothing Phone (2): Expected price in India

The Nothing Phone (2) is expected to be priced between Rs 40,000 to Rs 45,000 if we go by the specifications and design.

It will likely be seen competing with the Pixel 7a and OnePlus 11R. To recall, the Nothing Phone (2) was launched in India for Rs 32,999. We will have to wait for a few more weeks to know the official pricing of the 5G phone.

Nothing Phone (2): What to expect

The teaster also gives a first look at which is likely the Nothing Phone (2). The smartphone in the video appears to have a centrally-aligned punch-hole cutout, which is in line with the rumours of the Phone (2). Further, the Phone (2) could have flat edges, similar to the Nothing Phone (1).

Pei has been dropping hints about the Phone (2) and suggesting that the upcoming smartphone will offer a superior experience compared to the Phone (1).

The Phone (2) will feature an upgrade to the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip from Qualcomm, which is a step up from the Snapdragon 778G+ used in the first version.
Nothing has confirmed that the Phone (2) will have a larger screen, but rumours suggest it may be about 0.15 inches bigger than the Phone (1). Additionally, the Phone (2) will also boast a larger battery with a capacity of 4700mAh, which is 200mAh more than the previous model.

Nothing Phone (2) will run Nothing OS 2.0, which is said to combine the best of Android to enhance accessibility and efficiency for users. The company showed off the interface, showing new widgets and wallpaper. Further, the Nothing OS 2.0 will be available for the Phone (1) as a software update in the future.

Nothing Phone (2) is set to launch on July 11 at 7:30 PM. It will be available to pre-orders starting June 29 through Flipkart. The Phone (2) will now be manufactured in India, according to the company’s announcement.

Red Magic 8S Pro 24GB RAM Debut Phone Launch on July 5 ; to feature Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Leading Version

0

HIGHLIGHTS

* RedMagic 8S Pro’s massive 24GB RAM is actual RAM, not virtual RAM.
* OnePlus and Realme are working on 24GB RAM smartphones as well.
* The RedMagic 8S Pro will also have an overclocked Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor.

Earlier this week, nubia confirmed that it will introduce the RedMagic 8S Pro, successor to the RedMagiC 8 Pro in China on July 5th.

Today, the company has confirmed that it will be the first phone to be powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Leading Version clocked at up to 3.36GHz compared to the standard Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.

The Adreno 740 GPU’s clock speed is also expected to be increased, from 680 MHz to 719 MHz increasing the GPU performance.
It will also be the first phone to come with 24GB of RAM, said the company.

This doesn’t include the virtual RAM. Recent rumours revealed that OnePlus Ace 2 Pro will be the first phone to use 24GB of RAM, and realme will also launch a mobile phone with 24GB of RAM, it added.

It is also expected to come with up to 1TB UFS 4.0 of storage. We had already seen 16GB + 1TB model in the RedMagic 8 Pro.
The phone is expected to retain the 6.8-inch Full HD+ OLED display with 120Hz refresh rate, 50MP Samsung GN5 sensor, 8MP ultra-wide lens, 2MP macro camera and a 16MP under-display front-facing camera.

We have seen Android brands fight with each other over who can pack smartphones with the most insane numbers on the spec sheet. This is the reason we have phones with 200MP cameras and 210W fast charging speeds.

The brands are now preparing to take existing crazy RAM numbers a notch above in the coming days. Nubia’s RedMagic is set to announce a new smartphone next week that will bring an insane 24GB RAM capacity.

RedMagic 8S Pro Coming with Massive 24GB RAM

Nubia has confirmed on its official Weibo account that the upcoming RedMagic 8S Pro will feature an insane 24GB RAM capacity. If you are thinking this is because of the virtual RAM feature, we would like to make your jaw drop by mentioning that all 24GB RAM will be actual physical RAM.

There is no doubt that such massive RAM will surely boost the multi-tasking, gaming, and heavy editing experience on smartphones but one can argue that it will just be overkill for the majority of the users. This is a discussion we can keep having but brands are certainly interested in making headlines and attracting customers with such massive numbers.

OnePlus and Realme are other brands reported to be working on 24GB RAM smartphones. The OnePlus Ace 2 Pro is tipped to launch next month and comes with a mammoth RAM capacity. As far as the Realme 24GB RAM smartphone is concerned, no other details about it have surfaced yet but it is also expected to arrive sooner than later.

This is not surprising as both OnePlus and Realme are owned by the same parent company.

RedMagic 8S Pro Specifications and Launch Date

Nubia has further confirmed RedMagic 8S Pro will be powered by an overclocked version of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor.

This variant will have a 3.36GHz clock speed as compared to 3.19GHz on the standard model.

It is referred to as the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Leading Version in the teaser post.
Even Adreno 740 GPU clock speed is expected to receive a boost from 680MHz to 719MHz.

The RedMagic 8S Pro launch is set for July 5th at an event that will take place in China. It is also expected to announce a new gaming tablet at the same event.

The rest of RedMagic 8S Pro specifications are expected to stay the same as the RedMagic 8 Pro that debuted globally earlier this year.

It means we will likely see a 6.8-inch Full HD+ OLED display, 120Hz refresh rate, 50MP triple rear camera setup, 16MP under-display front camera, 6000mAh battery, and 80W fast charging.

nubia Red Magic 8S Pro Confirmed to Have Snapdragon 8 Gen 2

As per the official announcements, the Red Magic 8S Pro will ship with the same chipset that powered the Red Magic 8 Pro. Specifically, it will feature Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 rather than the previously rumored Snapdragon 8+ Gen 2.

This confirms that Qualcomm is not working on a new 8 Gen 2 chipset at the moment.

nubia has also confirmed some important specs of the Red Magic 8S Pro. The phone will ship with 24GB of RAM, which is double the RAM count of the Galaxy S23 Ultra.

Thanks to that, you will get a smooth multitasking and gaming performance out of the phone.

In comparison, the Red Magic 8 Pro came with a maximum of 16GB of RAM. Therefore, the new 8S Pro is set to provide a significant upgrade in terms of RAM capacity.

However, nubia did not share any other details of the device. So, it is unclear whether the rest of the specs of the phone will be similar to the 8 Pro or not.

We will need to wait for more official announcements regarding the phone to get more details.
