HIGHLIGHTS

* WhatsApp is testing a new feature that will make it easier to transfer chats to a new Android device.
* This feature eliminates the need of backing up your chats to Google Drive.
* It has started rolling out to WhatsApp beta testers on Android.

WhatsApp lets you transfer your chat history between phones so you don’t lose your old messages even when you change devices. The process can be cumbersome sometimes since you have to back up all your chats to Google Drive before transferring them. WhatsApp is now working on a feature that will let you directly transfer your chats without the Google Drive backup.

This feature essentially lets you transfer your chats to another Android device without having to back them up first on Google Drive, hence saving time and data. First spotted by WABetalnfo, this feature has been in the works and it is now rolling out to WhatsApp beta users on Android.

WhatsApp Android Chat Transfer Tool

WhatsApp Latest Feature

If you’re on the latest version of the WhatsApp beta app on Android you might have received the feature. You can check by going to the settings menu, opening chats, and looking for the chat transfer option. You can then hit the start button to begin the chat transfer process. After this you will get a QR code which you’ll have to scan to transfer your chats to a new Android device.

The new feature offers a faster and more convenient process than the Google Drive backup especially if you’re someone who saves all your WhatsApp chats. It often happens that we have more than 1GB of WhatsApp chats which we have to first back up to Google Drive, then restore the messages on the new device. With the new feature you won’t have to go through this hassle.

Having said that, one should also note that not backing up to Google Drive can be risky since you might lose your chats. As for the feature availability, it has only started rolling out to beta testers. WhatsApp is expected to make it available to all users soon but there’s no official confirmation yet. If you’re interested, you can apply for the WhatsApp beta program to try out unreleased features.

WhatsApp Latest Feature

WhatsApp is working on a new feature to make it easier for you to transfer your chat history to a new device. The messaging platform already allows people to transfer old chats to a new device, but the process is not very simplified for those who don’t know how to use a phone.

Here is everything you need to know about the upcoming WhatsApp feature. WhatsApp is testing a way to let you migrate chat history without using Google Drive. Users could soon be able to just use QR codes to transfer chats, which will cut the long process of first backing up the latest chats and then going through the transfer method. WaBetaInfo spotted the new feature and shared a screenshot, revealing how the feature would work.

People will be required to open the chat transfer section and use their old phone’s camera to scan the QR code which will be available on their new device. Once you scan the QR code, the chat history will get transferred to the new Android phone. As of now, there is no information on whether a similar feature will also be introduced for Android to iOS transfer.

The chat transfer feature is currently under development and the cited source is saying that WhatsApp hasn’t yet announced when the new feature will be released to everyone. While we don’t have details of the launch, we do know that the new chat history transfer feature will first arrive for beta testers and then it will be made available for everyone. This will likely take time.

WhatsApp's iOS-to-Android chat history transfer tool rolls out to Samsung devices | Engadget

WaBetaInfo is claiming that the feature has been spotted in the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.2.7 update, but this might not be visible to everyone. Currently, there are different ways to back up chats and transfer them. People can either save chats locally in the phone’s storage or cloud storage solutions like Google Drive. After this, you can log in to WhatsApp on a new device, and then the app will let you recover the chat history.

The process to recover data from local storage is complicated and Google Drive is way easier. It doesn’t require a lot of effort. People can choose to enable auto backup for chats.
The chat backup option is visible in the messaging app itself. One just needs to go to WhatsApp’s settings > Chats > Chat Backup. You can choose to select “Daily” option in the Back up to Google Drive section.

WhatsApp allows you to select your own Google account or any other email id, which you can enter in the Choose an account section. The iPhone users get iCloud option to backup chats.

Faqs on WhatsApp Latest Feature

1) How to do whatsapp data transfer from android to android ?

Ans) If you want to know how to transfer WhatsApp data from Android to Android, and not your entire chat history, then you can use AirDroid Personal to do so! AirDroid is a multi-purpose app that allows you to seamlessly transfer all your files between your devices.
Whether you want to transfer photos you’ve received on WhatsApp, or documents or media, you can do it all with AirDroid! It works across Androids, iOS devices, and even with your computer, and it has tons of other features. Here’s how.

-Download and Install AirDroid
Go to Google Play Store on both your Android phones and download and install AirDroid Personal. Set up your account. Remember to use two different accounts.

-Turn on Bluetooth and Wi-Fi
Check if your Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are turned on both devices and if AirDroid is active. Then you can connect to each other.

-Navigate to the File
Depending on what you want to share, you have to navigate to the file. If you want to transfer photos you have received on WhatsApp, they get automatically saved in your Gallery app. For other files like documents or mp3, you can usually find them inside the File Manager app. If not, you can always go to WhatsApp and then press and hold on the file to download and save it.

-Transfer the File
Once you have located the file or files, you can tap and hold the file to select it, and then tap on the Options button which is the three dots on the top right corner of the screen. You should see a Share option: tap on it. From the Share Sheet, select AirDroid to transfer the file. Once you’re inside AirDroid you should be able to see the name of the other Android device pop up in the list. Tap on the name to send the file and you’re done!

2) Can you restore your WhatsApp backup from an Android to an IPhone ?

Ans) Yes, you can transfer your WhatsApp from an Android to an iPhone, but it’s not as easy. This is because, in Android phones, WhatsApp backups are saved in a certain format in Google Drive, whereas WhatsApp backups in iOS devices are saved as a separate type of file in iCloud. These two are incompatible and one cannot open the other.

This is why you can’t use the default WhatsApp backup option to transfer your chats between Androids and iPhones. Instead, you should use third-party software like iTransor which works between platforms to transfer your chats. You can also use AirDroid to transfer your files from WhatsApp to an iOS device since AirDroid works on both platforms as well.

So while it is not impossible to transfer WhatsApp between Androids and iPhones, it’s still easier to back up history when you are on the same OS.

Leaked! iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 pro max CAD Renders reveal secret for first time: biggest design change show much talked about Action buttons & Camera changes

iPhone 15 series

HIGHLIGHTS

* iPhone 15 Pro CAD renders show that Apple is going back to physical buttons instead of haptic keys.
* However, Apple is retaining the Mute switch.
* iPhone 15 series is set to debut later this year.
* The two pro models are likely to be iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max
* The iPhone 15 Pro Max may launch with an iPhone 15 Ultra moniker
* The iPhone 15 series is expected to launch later this year

iPhone 15 series has been all over the news as they’re one of the most-anticipated flagship launches of the year. The lineup is expected to bring some notable improvements, especially in the camera department. Now, folks at 9to5Mac have obtained a detailed set of CAD files from trusted sources. These confirm some of the rumours that surfaced online in recent weeks.

These images show the iPhone 15 Pro models will have traditional buttons, including the Apple Watch Ultra-like Action button, as opposed to widespread rumours about haptics. Apple might have hit a roadblock during production and went back to familiar territory (physical buttons).

iPhone 15 Pro CAD-based Renders

iPhone 15 series

The earlier surfaced CAD-based renders showed the iPhone 15 Pro series will feature new haptic buttons, including a push mute button. There were supposed to be two new haptic engines dedicated explicitly to emulating a button press.

However, it looks like Apple has now backtracked on this, probably owing to production hurdles or the software is not completely ready.

This sudden change in design, interestingly, didn’t affect the mute switch as the new CAD-renders show the push button instead of the toggle that is currently on most iPhones. The new mute switch is expected to come with increased functionality but the details are under wraps. The only significant change to buttons is the mute switch this year too. Speculations are rife that this button could emulate the Action Button found on the Apple Watch Ultra.

iPhone 15 series

The earlier leaked CAD-based renders show a gigantic camera bump, with individual protrusions larger than the current iPhone 14 Pro’s entire camera bump. However, with the new renders, the camera bump on the iPhone 15 Pro seems reasonable. While the camera bump is still present and is larger than iPhone 14 Pro’s, the protrusions don’t appear that mighty.

On the other hand, the iPhone 15 Pro Max could have a slightly larger camera bump, which adds to the ongoing rumours that it might have a periscope zoom lens.

These renders also show the presence of a USBType-C port, the bezels are narrow and the entire frame appears to be more rounded than the current iPhone 14 series.

iPhone 15 Price to increase?

iPhone 15 series

Separately, Twitter user Revegnus claims that compared to the iPhone 14 series, the production cost of the iPhone 15 base model is expected to increase by almost 12 percent and iPhone 15 Pro models by around 20 percent. He says that the TSMC fabrication price hike could be the main culprit here. It remains to be seen whether Apple would pass on this burden to customers by hiking the price of the iPhone 15 series or bear the weight.

1) Leaked CAD Files Showcase New Design of the Apple iPhone 15 Pro Models.Details?

Ans) The previous rumors regarding the iPhone 15 Pro models utilizing solid-state buttons also said that Apple would use additional Taptic Engines for haptic feedback. While the plans for that change have shifted to iPhone 15 Pro models, the previously found Mute Switch may not make it to the new models.

Instead, the iPhone 15 Pro phones will feature an Action Button. And the leaked CAD files kind of confirms that the accessory makers are currently working on a new design. And these new CADs line up perfectly with the previously leaked 1:1 high-quality renders.

As you can see, Apple has completely ditched the solid-state buttons. Instead, Apple has reverted to traditional button design for the iPhone 15 Pro models with separated volume buttons. But the main highlight is the lack of a mute switch.
Instead, the CAD files showcase a mute button, which is likely to be named Action Button.

It is unknown whether the new Action Button will completely replace the functionality of the mute switch. Many are speculating it could emulate the Apple Watch Ultra’s Action Button. And that button allows you to customize the action according to your preference. In other words, you can program it to do several tasks.

As you might have guessed, the Action Button will be an exclusive for the iPhone 15
Pro lineup. That is, the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus models will have the traditional mute switch.
So, Apple could indeed add some special features to the new button.

2) What are the Camera Changes in the new iPhone 15?

Ans) So, the new iPhone 15 CAD files are not just all about the Action Button. Instead, they shed light on a slightly changed camera bump. The early schematics showed a gargantuan bump with individual protrusions that were larger than the bump found on the iPhone 14 Pro.

But with the new CADs, the camera bumps appear to be in the reasonable range. Yes, the bumps are still larger than the iPhone 14 series. But the protrusions are not as comical as showcased in the previous CADs.

That said, the bump on the iPhone 15 Pro Max looks to be a bit larger. This leads us to believe that the periscope zoom lens for the highest-end model might actually be a thing.

However, the iPhone 15 Pro does not appear to have the same treatment. It is not rumored to feature the periscope zoom lens either. For that reason, we were not surprised to see it having less bump on the back than the 15 Pro Max model.

With the camera and new button design, the CAD also corroborates several design details in the previous CAD models. For example, the new renders show incredibly narrow bezels, the presence of USB-C, and a much rounder frame than the iPhone 14 series.

Airtel Xstream Fiber Broadband Lite Plan launched at Rs 219 per month Launched to Take on Jio Fiber Rs 198 Backup Plan

Airtel Xstream Fiber Broadband Lite Plan

HIGHLIGHTS

* Airtel Xstream Fiber broadband service has a new affordable plan.
* This plan is the cheapest one launched by Airtel so far.
* Here’s a look at what you get with the Airtel Xstream Broadband Lite plan.
* Airtel Broadband Lite plan silently launched in India for Rs 219 monthly rental.
* The plan takes on Jio’s Rs 198 Backup Plan that was launched recently.
* Currently, Airtel Broadband Lite is only available in three circles – Bihar, UP East, and AP.

Airtel has launched a new plan for its fiber broadband service, and it’s called the ‘Broadband Lite’ plan. As the name suggests, this is an affordably priced Airtel Xstream plan that consumers can opt for. This is also the cheapest Airtel Xstream Fiber broadband plan that the telco has launched so far.

Airtel Xstream Fiber Broadband Lite Plan

Airtel Xstream Fiber Broadband Lite Plan silently launched in India for Rs 219 monthly rental. The plan was launched in response to Jio’s Backup Plan worth Rs 198, launched last month with one-click speed upgrades, OTT benefits, and live TV channels.

In contrast, Airtel Xstream Fiber Broadband Lite plan offers no such benefits except a free router and a fixed speed. Here are all details about the newly launched Airtel Broadband Lite plan and how it fares against Jio’s Backup Plan.

Airtel Xstream Broadband Lite Plan

Airtel Xstream Fiber Broadband Lite PlanThe Airtel Xstream Broadband Lite plan is priced at Rs 219 monthly, and with a validity of 12 months. At present, the plan has to be purchased at once which means that consumers will have to pay for 12 months at once, and this costs Rs 3,101 along with GST included. With the Airtel Xstream Broadband Lite plan, users get 10 Mbps of broadband speed and a free router as well.

Other than the above mentioned offers, there are no benefits that come along with this plan. Also, Airtel is currently limiting this plan to only three circles including Bihar, UP East and Andhra Pradesh. There is no word on whether Airtel plans to make it available to other circles as well.

Airtel Xstream Fiber Broadband Plans

RENTAL SPEED DURATION BENEFITS TOTAL PRICE (WITH GST)
219 10 Mbps 12 Months Free Router 3101

The new Airtel Xstream Fiber Broadband Lite plan is cheap compared to other existing ones but it doesn’t have any benefits and offers minimal speed. If you’re looking for more then you can choose among a total of five Xstream Fiber broadband plans.

The basic plan is priced at Rs 499 and it offers up to 40 Mbps speed, unlimited internet and calls, Apollo 24/7, FASTag and Wynk Music subscriptions. The Airtel Xstream Fiber standard plan costs Rs 799 with up to 100 Mbps speed, and this one has an added benefit of subscription to the Xstream Premium pack.

For those wanting a content-packed plan can go for the entertainment plan that costs Rs 999 per month and offers up to 200 Mbps speed. With this you get subscriptions to Disney+ Hotstar, Amazon Prime, and Xtsream Premium pack.

Then there’s the Airtel Xstream Fiber professional plan priced at Rs 1,498 that offers up to 300 Mbps speed and includes a Netflix subscription as well. The most expensive Airtel Xstream Fiber plan is priced at Rs 3,999 per month, and it has all the benefits with up to 1Gbps speed.

Airtel Xstream Fiber Broadband Lite Plan Launched in India: Here Are the Details

Airtel Xstream Fiber Broadband Lite Plan

Airtel has silently launched its most affordable Xstream Fiber broadband plan in India. The new plan is Airtel Broadband Lite and is priced at Rs 219 monthly. Currently, the plan is only available as an annual subscription and offers 10Mbps speed to its users.

According to the Airtel website, the plan comes with a free router. Users must pay Rs 3,101 in total to sign up for the new plan. Unfortunately, the new Airtel Broadband Lite Plan is available only in Bihar, Uttar Pradesh East, and Andhra Pradesh. Moreover, there are no OTT or live TV benefits either.

Airtel Xstream Fiber Broadband Lite Plan vs Jio Fiber Backup Plan

Which one to buy: Jio Fiber or Airtel Xstream in 2023? |Selectra India

Plan Airtel Broadband Lite Plan Jio Fiber Backup Plan
Rental Rs 219 Rs 198
Speed 10Mbps 10Mbps
Speed Upgrade NA upgradable up to 100Mbps for up to 7 days
OTT Benefits NA Up to 16 OTT apps sub
Live TV NA 550 live TV channels
Price Rs 3,101 annual Rs 1,490 (5-month service + installation)

As you can see in the table above, the Jio Fiber Backup plan is the better of the two plans. In the case of the Airtel Broadband Lite plan, users get 10Mbps fixed speed for 12 months at Rs 219 per month, which translates to Rs 3,101 annually, including GST. On the other hand, Jio is letting users sign up for the Fiber Backup plan for Rs 1,490, which includes a 5-month subscription and installation charges.

However, Jio offers a 30Mbps or 100Mbps one-click speed upgrade for one, two, or seven days. The pricing for these speed upgrades starts from Rs 21 for 30Mbps speed for a day to Rs 152 for 100Mbps for a week. Jio is also offering entertainment upgrade plans worth Rs 100 per month and Rs 200 per month. For Rs 100 a month, users will get a free 4K set-top box, 400 live television channels, 6 OTT apps, and a YouTube subscription. And for Rs 200 a month, users will get eight additional OTT services and 550 live TV channels.

Airtel Xstream Fiber Broadband Lite Plan

Not only that, but Jio is also offering Entertainment Bonanza Plans ranging from 10Mbps to 300Mbps with varying OTT benefits and live TV channels. If a user doesn’t want the OTT and TV benefits, there are three internet-only Jio Fiber Backup plans for Rs 198, Rs 399, and Rs 699.

Clearly, Jio is a better option with varying add-ons for its Fiber Backup plan. Granted, you must pay for the upgrades, but having these options is commendable. On the contrary, Airtel’s plan is relatively straightforward and will suit those who need basic Internet connectivity.

Airtel Xstream Fiber Broadband Lite Plan

Faqs on Airtel Xstream Fiber Broadband Lite Plan

1) JioFiber Broadband Back-Up Plan. Details?

Ans) As we told, this new light plan of Airtel will compete with the Jio Fiber Backup plan of Jio company present in the market. The plan is priced at Rs 198 per month, which was launched last month. In this plan, users will get unlimited data at a speed of 10 Mbps. This backup plan will be useful to the user in case the primary connection goes down. Along with this, the company also brings speed upgrade plans, in which users will get 1 day, 2 days and 7 days options. Also, the internet speed can be increased from 30 Mbps to 100 Mbps.

If you want a plan for 1 day, then you will have to pay Rs 21 for a plan with 30 Mbps speed, while the cost of a plan with 100 Mbps speed is Rs 32. The plan with 30 Mbps speed for 2 days costs Rs 31, while 100 Mbps speed will cost Rs 52. The cost of the plan with 30 Mbps speed for 7 days is Rs 101, while for 100 Mbps speed you will have to pay Rs 152.

For example, if you think that your primary internet connection will be down for a day, then you can go with a plan with 30 Mbps or 100 Mbps speed option.

2) How do the two plans compare?

Ans) While both Jio and Airtel’s plans are pitched against each other, there are a few differences in both offerings which a potential subscriber should keep in mind before opting for either. Both plans are only available for new users and come with a minimum subscription duration of 5 months (990+GST for Jio & 995+GST for Airtel) and have a Rs 500 charge for installation though the router is free with both plans. As for the speed, both plans come with 10 Mbps bundled but Jio Fiber backup plan offers flexible 1/2/7 day speed booster packs to upgrade speeds to 30 or 100 Mbps whereas the Xstream Fiber Standby plan can only be upgraded permanently to one of the standard Xstream plans and does not offer temporary speed boosters.

As for the entertainment add-ons both plans offer optional upgrades which provide a free hybrid set-top box. While JioFiber Backup plan offers a bundled subscription to 6 OTT apps and 400 live channels at an additional Rs 100/month and 14 OTT apps and 550 live channels at an additional Rs 200/month, the Xstream Fiber Standby plan offers 350+ live channels at an additional Rs 200/month with no bundled OTT subscriptions. The main difference between the live channel offerings by both operators is that Jio STB provides it over the data network through the bundled OTT apps whereas Airtel STB provides it over the traditional DTH network.

Availability

While the JioFiber Backup plan has been openly advertised by the operator and is available to any new subscriber to book, the Airtel Xstream Fiber Standby plan is currently only available through Airtel executives who would offer it to subscribers who don’t opt for the standard Rs 499 plan due to affordability issues. Airtel has specified that the Rs 399 standby plan is not eligible for Airtel Black benefits.

Airtel Xstream Fiber has also launched another 10 Mbps plan called Broadband Lite plan priced at Rs 219 plus GST and has to be subscribed for 12 months in advance, bringing the cost to Rs 3101 inclusive of GST with no additional installation charge and offers a free wifi router. This is currently available only in three telecom circles namely Bihar, UP East, and Andhra Pradesh and may be extended to other circles eventually.

HIGHLIGHTS

* Jio AirFiber services are expected to launch sometime this year.
* A new video shows what’s supposed to be the AirFiber router and how it will work.
* There’s also a tip on the possible pricing of the Jio AirFiber in India.
* Jio might launch AirFiber services at its upcoming AGM.
* Jio’s Air Fiber services will provide high-speed internet without wires.
* Jio plans to expand its Jio Fiber and Air Fiber services to 100 million in the next two to three months.

Jio AirFiber was unveiled by Reliance Industries at its 45th AGM last year. As the name suggests, Jio Air Fiber is designed to give users fiber-like speed wirelessly through a 5G antenna.

Jio AirFiber is also claimed to provide internet speeds up to 1Gbps. There hasn’t been an official launch date yet but it is speculated to debut sometime this year. A new report now suggests the Jio AirFiber launch will take place in another month or two.

The Jio AirFiber services will reportedly launch in June or July this year, according to a YouTuber “The Technologist”. The YouTuber has also uploaded a video showcasing what’s said to be the Jio AirFiber, and has demonstrated its unboxing and installation.

Jio AirFiber price

According to the video, there are two variants of the AirFiber where one is a Wi-Fi router which is non portable, and the other is portable and comes with Wi-Fi 6 support. Even the expected pricing has been tipped with the non-portable one retailing at Rs 5,500, and the portable one at Rs 6,000.

India’s largest telecom operator, is expected to launch its new services soon. The telecom operator is likely to launch Air Fiber services in the country in the coming months. The Air Fibre services are expected to increase Jio’s connected home strategy. The Air Fiber services are known for providing high-speed internet without traditional wires.

The new development has been shared by Reliance Industries President Kiran Thomas. He said that Jio Air fiber be available in the coming months and it will accelerate the company’s strategies for connected homes. He added that the company plans to bring this service when 5G will be available to the majority of people.

Jio AirFiber price

Also, Jio plans to expand Jio Fiber and Air Fiber services to 100 million houses in the coming two to three years. Thomas also believes that Air Fiber services will increase the home broadband base due to its advantage of 5G network.

The leading telecom operator has already verified the radio frequency planning, installation process, and service stability through pilot projects in a few areas, which clearly means that Jio will soon make some announcements on the launch of the Air Fiber services.

It is worth noting that Air Fiber services can offer capacity, speed, and proper indoor coverage through differentiated spectrum holding. Plus, Jio said that it can provide Wi-Fi coverage up to 1000 square feet via its Home Gateway.

How Jio AirFiber Works

The video shows that both models of the AirFiber comes with Wi-Fi routers where one will be the antenna and the other will work as the extender. You will have to place one router somewhere on top like the roof of your house, and the other will be inside through which you’ll get internet connectivity.

Once setting up the hardware is complete, you will have to complete the installation process by connecting to the network. First you will need to insert the Jio 5G SIM in the AirFiber and then download the Jio Home app on your phone. Once you’ve downloaded it, you will have to connect to the Jio Fiber router and enter the Wi-Fi password that’s located on the bottom of the router.

In addition to wireless connectivity, the Jio AirFiber will also have a USB port, a LAN and a WAN port. The Jio set top box can also be plugged into the AirFiber router for your TV. This installation process is for the standard AirFiber router and not the portable one. There is no word on how exactly the portable AirFiber will work, and if the company even plans of launching one.

HIGHLIGHTS

* Microsoft’s Phone Link app lets Android users access basic phone features on a Windows PC.
* This company is now adding support for iOS devices as well.
* Phone Link for iOS has started rolling out to all Windows 11 and iPhone users.

Microsoft’s Phone Link that first launched as ‘Your Phone’ allows Android users to use their phones on Windows desktops. Through Phone Link, Android users can check notifications, receive calls, and even use smartphone apps on the laptop or computer without checking their phone. Microsoft is now adding support for iOS on Phone Link.

Microsoft has started rolling out Phone Link for iOS for all Windows 11 users globally. Since it has just been released, users should start seeing the feature on their PCs in the coming weeks, and by mid-May it should be available to all. Similar to Phone Link for Android, iPhone users will now be able to access their device’s features on a Windows PC.

Phone Link for iOS Features

iOS Features

This feature essentially allows iPhone users to answer calls, reply to messages, and access contacts all from their PC and without having to check their phone. And yes, you will be able to use iMessage too but in a limited way.

How to use Phone Link for iOS

iOS Features

Firstly, you’ll need an iPhone running iOS 14 or higher, a Windows 11 PC, Bluetooth connectivity and the latest version of the Phone Link app. You can check if the feature is available on your Windows PC by typing ‘Phone Link’ in the search box that’s available in the taskbar.

Once it’s available, a pop-up screen explaining what Phone Link is will appear. Here, you’ll have to choose whether you want to connect an Android or iOS phone to your Windows PC.

So your iPhone has to be always connected to the Windows PC via Bluetooth to use Phone Link features. Also, Phone Link supports only iOS and not iPadOS. iMessage support on Phone Link also comes with limitations as you cannot share photos or videos, and access group chats on Phone Link.

The limitations are due to iOS, and there’s no word on whether it will be relaxed in the future. But for now you can enjoy the basic features on Phone Link for iOS.

Faqs on iOS Features

1) Getting started for Insiders who receive the preview of setting iPhone on windows ?

Ans) If you are an Insider who receives the preview of Phone Link for iOS, you will see the option to pick your iPhone on the Phone Link homepage (in addition to choosing an Android device). If you see the iPhone button greyed out with a coming soon message, that means you are not yet in the preview.

After choosing iPhone, the guided installation will kick off to pair your iPhone. You will be directed to follow a set of steps that will guide you to pair your iPhone and PC over Bluetooth. This will initiate after you scan a QR code shown on your screen, and then move on to the confirmation steps that helps us confirm the phone and PC are in range.

During this step, you will be asked to confirm the code in Phone Link matches the code shown on your iPhone. Once you complete pairing, you’ll be asked to grant a set of permissions that allow us to get all your favorite content sync’d over to Phone Link.

This is the final step. Phone Link will direct you to give permissions on your iPhone in your iPhone’s Bluetooth settings. This is an important step in getting notifications and contacts to show correctly in Phone Link from your iPhone.

Once the guided installation completes and your iPhone is paired to your PC and the right permissions given, Phone Link will deliver basic iOS support for calls, messages, and contacts. This means you will be notified directly through your Windows notifications. Phone Link does not support replying to group messages or sending media in messages.

As you try out this experience with your iPhone, if you run into any issues make sure you submit feedback via Feedback Hub under Apps > Phone Link. To see a list of known issues and to troubleshoot issues with the Phone Link Team – click here to visit this Microsoft Tech Community forum post.

2) How can you Install iCloud and iTunes for Windows?

Ans) iCloud for Windows is Apple’s olive branch to Windows users, bringing over photos, videos, email, files, bookmarks and more to your Windows machine. It’s not the most comprehensive or feature-filled application out there, but at least it’s an official Apple product that’s semi-regularly maintained.

It’s particularly handy if you’re beginning to rely a lot on iCloud for your apps, photos, videos, and files. You can get a lot of the stuff on your iPhone synced over to your Windows machine, so the files themselves are physically saved to disk and available to edit, view, share, or whatever else you want to do with them.

In the case of photos and videos handled by iCloud, you can sync the files on your Windows computer up to the iCloud Photo Library (so they’re available on your iPhone) and sync the files from your iPhone to a folder on your Windows device too. New iCloud Drive and iCloud photos entries appear in File Explorer.

This is the easiest solution if you’re heavily invested in Apple’s apps on your iPhone and want everything mirrored over to Windows—all the key stuff like emails, photos, and so on. Because you’re relying on Apple’s software, you can be reasonably sure that everything under the hood is going to work smoothly.

If you want to manage a big music library (playlists and all) from your Windows computer, or you want to watch the films you’ve bought on your iPhone on your PC, or you want a local backup of the data on your iPhone, install iTunes for Windows. If you use Spotify and Netflix for all your music and video, you can probably manage with just iCloud for Windows instead.

3) How to Sign into iCloud in Windows 10?

Ans) iCloud for Windows takes care of a lot of the tricky issues of integrating Apple’s services into Windows programs, but if you want to take a more piecemeal approach—just email, or just calendars—then approach the problem from the Windows side instead.

Open up Mail in Windows 10 for example, click Accounts, then click Add account: You’ll notice iCloud is one of the options listed. Sign in with your Apple credentials, and Mail will let you send and receive messages as if you were using Mail on macOS. All of the background technical work is done for you, you just need your username and password.

The same trick works in the People and Calendar apps that come as part of Windows 10. If you click the cog icon in the lower left-hand corner of either app, then have a look at your accounts, iCloud is available as one of the accounts to add. If you’ve already installed iCloud for Windows, this might have already been done for you.

You can manage this more broadly by going to the Accounts page in the Windows Settings pane. Under the Email & accounts tap you should see iCloud listed, or you can add it from here too. To get rid of an account, click on it, then choose Manage and Delete account.

This is really a more manual version of the same jobs that iCloud for Windows will do automatically on your behalf. If you want to take more control over the Apple accounts that you see in Windows, and don’t want to install any extra software on your Windows machine, go through the Windows apps instead.
