There have been multiple contradictory reports on the expected price of the upcoming iPhone 16 series.
While we can’t say anything with certainty until the launch, the latest updates from one of Apple’s most trusted reporters are mostly likely true.
According to a new tweet from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the iPhone 16 Pro will maintain its $999 price (approximately INR 84,000).
This launch price was first introduced with the iPhone X back in 2017.
I expect the touch sensitive camera button to be on all iPhone 16 models tomorrow. The slimmer bezels on the Pro line are noticeable, as are battery life improvements. I don’t expect the Pro entry price to be raised from $999. Big focus will be on AI & A18 chip across the board.

This new update, however, goes against another report from 9to5Mac last week indicating a price hike.
The previous report mentioned that the iPhone 16 Pro would see a price increase to $1,099 (approximately INR 92,000) with 256GB of storage as the default option.
This isn’t all too surprising since Apple made a similar change last year with the iPhone 15 Pro Max.
The company raised the base price from $1,099 to $1,199 by eliminating the 128GB storage tier.
However, it seems this won’t happen with the iPhone 16 Pro, which is expected to keep the same 128GB storage option for $999.
There have also been rumours about 2TB of storage getting introduced in new 16 Pro models for the first time this year.
If there is any truth in this, there is also a chance that Apple drops the 128GB option for Pro models.
As mentioned, the Pro Max has already abandoned the 128GB option in the last iPhone 15 series.
There are currently four storage options available and the chance of Apple introducing five seems far off.
Price is not the only thing Gurman hinted at in his latest tweet.
Gurman also shared that the iPhone 16 Pro will have noticeably slimmer bezels and we will also get improvements in battery life across all models.
Many experts online have welcomed the rumours about battery life improvements in the upcoming iPhone 16 series.
The battery sizes of iPhones have remained fairly constant over the past few years. The last major battery upgrade we witnessed long ago in 2021 was with the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max.
Moreover, AI features, Capture Button and the new A18 chip are expected to be key highlights at Apple’s upcoming event.
