KM Birla maintains that Vodafone-Idea will roll out 5G soon: Vodafone Idea Steady Fall & Rivals Race Ahead Report

0
Vodafone Idea

HIGHLIGHTS

* Vodafone Idea maintains it will roll out its 5G network in India soon.
* The telecom giant still hasn’t mentioned a specific timeline for the availability of the latest network.
* Jio and Airtel, on the other hand, are rapidly expanding the 5G network in the country.

Vodafone Idea will be launching 5G services in India soon, Kumar Mangalam Birla, Chairperson of Aditya Birla Group has reiterated.

This comes after Birla mentioned this in an earlier interview in October 2022, but still, a specific timeline isn’t shared yet. Birla spoke on the AIMA Awards’ sidelines and said, “5G rollout will begin soon.”

In comparison, Airtel and Jio have already covered most metros and are slowly expanding to towns nationwide with their 5G network.

“I see we will continue as a country on our path of growth which has been very steady in a world of great turmoil and more uncertainty than us in the last 25 years, so I think that’s a huge positive for India and all of us from the industry have been very proud about it,” the billionaire industrialist said.

Birla said that the “China+1” strategy has been playing out well in India’s favour. “That’s a fact. A lot of people who are now wanting to be in India, invest in India and be integral in the growth store,” he said.

Vi 5G rollout in India

The slow attitude towards the 5G rollout has cost Vi to lose subscribers steadily to its rivals, Airtel and Jio who already launched and are expanding 5G at a rapid phase. Since April 2022, the company has lost over 4.24 crore subscribers. The 12-month period ending December 2022 alone saw a customer decline of 2.42 crore.

In stark contrast, Airtel and Jio are rolling out the network at a rapid phase. Both telecom networks promised to complete the 5G rollout by the end of March 2024, including towns and villages.
On the other hand, Vi hasn’t made any such announcements and this could be one of the reasons for the telecom giant losing subscribers in the country.

Vodafone Idea reported a net loss of Rs 7,990 crore for the 3rd quarter that ended December 31st, 2022. The company reported a net loss of Rs 7,595.5 crore in the September quarter.

The total revenue stood at Rs 10,620.6 crore in the December quarter and during the period under review, which is 0.1 percent up against Rs 10,614.6 crore in the September quarter.

Airtel added 0.1 million and 0.2 million active users in December 2022 in Haryana and Odisha circles, as per earlier reports .

This could serve as a good indication to believe that Airtel’s subscriber base is increasing.
Furthermore, the report added that Reliance Jio’s active user base increased by 3 million in December, while Airtel has managed to increase by 6 million during the same period.

Vodafone Idea Close to 2 Years in Subscriber Losing Streak

This subscriber loss is despite Vodafone Idea’s lucrative tariffs in the market, which no other telco is offering in India.

It appears that customers are losing trust in the telco, and the quality provided by the telco is also a major reason why the telco is losing subscribers month on month.

With losses mounting every quarter, the telco has not yet announced a concrete revival plan, 5G rollout or investment announcement so far.

The only news customers get to hear is about the company engaging with 5G device vendors and Mobile handset support.

Vodafone Idea 5G

Vodafone Idea 5G Roll out will begin soon, says Kumar Mangalam Birla, according to a report by CNBC-TV18. Birla was speaking on the sidelines of the AIMA Awards. “5G rollout will begin soon,” he said.

In an earlier interview in October 2022 too, Birla had said the same, but a timeline has not been shared.

The Government of India has approved equity conversion upon the promises of the promotors to bring substantial investments into the company, along with rolling out 5G Services to meet license obligations.

Absolutely Committed

KM Birla always remained Absolutely Committed to Vodafone Idea, but nothing concrete came out anytime regarding the investments or the company’s roadmap to clear existing debts.

On the other hand, while Airtel and Jio are rolling out 5G services, Vodafone Idea is maintaining its subscriber losing streak and is close to touch the two-year mark. Vodafone Idea lost over 1.3 million subscribers, most recently in January 2023, according to TRAI Data.

Vodafone Idea’s VLR (Active Subscribers) percentage in January 2023 is recorded at 87.15 while the highest recorded is 99.30 of Airtel.

Kumar Mangalam Birla, Chairperson of Aditya Birla Group, has said that Vodafone Idea will be launching its 5G services soon.

Birla had said this in an earlier interview in October 2022 but a timeline has not been shared yet.

Birla was speaking on the sidelines of the AIMA Awards. “5G rollout will begin soon,” he said.

Vodafone Idea has been losing subscribers steadily as its competitors Bharti Airtel and Reliance Jio have launched 5G services already in the country.

Since April 2021, the company has lost over 4.24 crore subscribers. The 12-month period ending December 2022 alone saw subscriber-base erosion of 2.42 crore.

Vodafone Idea reported a net loss of Rs 7,990 crore for the third quarter that ended December 31, 2022.
In the September quarter, the company posted a net loss of Rs 7,595.5 crore.

In the December quarter, total revenue stood at Rs 10,620.6 crore during the period under review, up 0.1 percent against Rs 10,614.6 crore in the September quarter.

Airtel has already reached 500 cities in its 5G coverage and has the target to cover urban India with 5G footprints by September this year.

Jio 5G available in 406 cities and by December 2023, the company plans Pan India coverage.

Under the dire needs for funds infusion, the telco is in discussions with the banks for funding.

FAQ’s on Vodafone

1) What is the Vi Rs 129 plan?

Ans) The revised Vi plans now offer more data and access to entertainment content as well. The Rs 129 prepaid plan offers unlimited calling and 200MB data with a validity of 18 days. This recharge plan however does not come with any SMS benefits, and it is recommended for people who require unlimited calling. For more benefits, Vi’s Rs 298 prepaid plan can be opted.

2) What is the Vi Rs 298 plan?

Ans) Vi has revised the Rs 298 prepaid plan with which you get 50GB of 4G data along with free access to Vi Movies and TV, premium movies, originals, news and live TV. The Vi Rs 298 prepaid plan comes with a validity of 28 days.

If we compare this with Airtel, the telco offers a prepaid plan priced at Rs 299 with 2GB data per day, unlimited calls, and 100 SMS per day. It also comes with a validity of 28 days. Another offer with this plan is unlimited 5G data. In comparison to Jio’s Rs 299 plan, users get 2GB data per day, subscription to Jio Apps and 100 SMS per day.

In addition to the revised plans, Vi has also launched a new Rs 181 prepaid plan that offers 30GB of data with a validity of 30 days. This prepaid plan however offers 1GB data per day and not the entire amount at once. It is also more of a booster pack so you can use this with an existing prepaid plan. So if you want more data then you can opt for this recharge plan.

The rumour mill has been rife with Xiaomi Pad 6 leaks and we’ve now spotted what seems to be Xiaomi’s latest tablet on benchmarking website Geekbench.

A Xiaomi device with the model number 23046P50C has appeared on Geekbench.
Notably, the same model number has been associated with the Xiaomi Pad 6 in previous leaks.

According to the listing, the tablet will pack the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen1 chipset which already powers flagship and high-end smartphones in the market.

The Geekbench also reveals that the Xiaomi Pad 6 will be equipped with the Adreno 730 GPU for graphics. It has also managed to get a 1712 single-core score and 4348 multi-core score. On the software front, the Xiaomi Pad 6 will most likely run Android 13 out-of-the-box.

Lu Weibing, Xiaomi’s president has put all the rumors to rest and confirmed the upcoming launch of the Xiaomi Pad 6 Android tablet this month. Weibing revealed this information via Chinese microblogging website Weibo.

While the exact launch date for the Xiaomi in Pad 6 still remains a mystery, online leaks suggests its arrival on the same day as the Xiaomi 13 Ultra.

Possible date for the latter’s launch tipped is April 18, 2023. Notably, the suggested mid-April timeline for the Xiaomi 13 Ultra smartphone and the Xiaomi Pad 6 tablet is not suggested by the rumor mill and not Xiaomi.

Unless the brand gives an affirmation, take this information as a pinch of salt.

The Xiaomi Pad 6 has been rumoured earlier with some of its key specifications. It is expected to feature a 120Hz display with HDR10+ support and Dolby Vision. Rumours also suggest the Xiaomi Pad 6 will pack a 10,000mAh battery with support for 67W fast charging. More leaked specifications include quad speakers and triple rear cameras on the Xiaomi Pad 6.

Leaked renders of the Xiaomi Pad 6 were also recently revealed and it looks like the tablet will adopt a camera module similar to the flagship smartphone, the Xiaomi 12 Pro. We can also except flat edges on the tablet according to the images.

Xiaomi has scheduled a global event for April 18th where it will debut the 13 Ultra smartphone. The same is said to launch in China as well which is where we except the Xiaomi Pad 6 to be unveiled as well. With the launch date nearing we should get more confirmation soon.

FAQ’s on Xiaomi Pad 6

1) What are Xiaomi Pad 6 Hardware Features (Leaked)?

Ans) According to all the recent leaks and rumors, the Xiaomi Pad 6 series tablets will come with several upgrades over the previous-gen Pad 5 lineup. We might see Xiaomi releasing the vanilla Xiaomi Pad 6 and the Pad 6 Pro in the global markets. Speaking of the expected spec-sheet, the vanilla Xiaomi Pad 6 tablet could feature the Snapdragon 870 chipset. For reference, the vanilla Xiaomi Pad 5 was launched with the Snapdragon 860 SoC.

On the other hand, the Xiaomi Pad 6 Pro could come either with the Dimensity 9000+ chipset or the Snapdragon 8+ gen 1 chipset. Both Xiaomi Pad 6 and the Pad 6 Pro could come with a 12.1-inch display with 2880 x 1800 pixels screen resolution and 120Hz or 144Hz refresh rate. The exact camera hardware that the Xiaomi Pad 6 series tablets will offer remains unknown. However, the rumor mill indicates a 10,000 mAh battery unit combined with fast charging support.

2) Has Xiaomi Pad 6 Official Launch Confirmed For Mid-April?

Ans) Lu Weibing, Xiaomi’s president has put all the rumors to rest and confirmed the upcoming launch of the Xiaomi Pad 6 Android tablet this month. Weibing revealed this information via Chinese microblogging website Weibo.

While the exact launch date for the Xiaomi Pad 6 still remains a mystery, online leaks suggests its arrival on the same day as the Xiaomi 13 Ultra.

3) When will the Xiaomi Pad 6 be released?

Ans) The Pad 5 first announced in China in August 2021, going on sale in the rest of the world later in early 2022.

That means it’s been more than a year since the Pad 5, and so in some ways the Pad 6 already feels overdue.

The next plausible opportunity for a launch is the MWC 2023 tradeshow at the end of February, where Xiaomi has already confirmed it will have a booth – but will it launch products too?

As with most Xiaomi products, we wouldn’t expect to see it available in the US, and if the previous generation is any guide then the Pro model may stay China-only, with only the regular Pad 6 making it overseas.

4) How much will the Xiaomi Pad 6 cost?

Ans) There’s no confirmation on an official price for the Pad 6 yet, so we need to look at how much the previous generation cost to give us some idea. Here’s the prices for the Xiaomi Pad 5:

* Xiaomi Pad 5 6GB/128GB – £369/€349/₹26,999
* Xiaomi Pad 5 6GB/256GB – €399/₹28,999

Prices are already quite competitive against the 10.2in iPad against which it directly competes.

Because of that, we’d expect to see them stay pretty much the same when the Xiaomi Pad 6 arrives.

5) What specs and features will we see in the Xiaomi Pad 6?

Ans) We’re only beginning to see the first leaks about the Pad 6 series, which is expected to include the Xiaomi Pad 6 and Pad 6 Pro.

The best information from XiaomiUi was the code hinting at both of these tablets, with the code names ‘pipa’ and ‘liuqin’ respectively.

According to the code dive, the regular Xiaomi Pad 6 will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870, the natural step up from the 860 in its predecessor.

The Pad 6 Pro will be more powerful, using the flagship Snapdragon 8+ Gen1 chip.
The code details more specs here too, including a 1880×2880 120Hz AMOLED display, quad stereo speakers, and a dual rear camera setup that will apparently consist of a main camera and a depth sensor.

The two tablets will use the Snapdragon 870 and 8+ Gen 1 respectively, adding that the Pro will go as high as 12GB of RAM and 512GB storage.

He disagrees slightly on the screens though, predicting that both tablets will use similar 11in displays with a resolution of 1800×2880 – similar to that above, but not exactly the same – adding that while the Pad 6 will use a 120Hz refresh rate, the Pro will be faster at 144Hz.

Interestingly he also adds that both tablets will feature fingerprint scanners – which weren’t featured on last year’s models – and will have the same 67W wired charging.

In the Xiaomi Pad 5 review, one of the few hardware improvements we thought were necessary came in the area of connectivity. First up, there is no LTE version available, which can be a problem if you find yourself out of Wi-Fi range.

So, we’d hope for at least a 4G model on the Pad 6 if 5G capabilities are still too expensive to hit those low price points. Wi-Fi 6 would also be nice, although it’s not really that pressing as most people still don’t have compatible routers at home.

While Xiaomi offers two storage variants on the Pad 5 – 128GB and 256GB – both come with 6GB of RAM. Admittedly, this isn’t too bad, but we’d be much happier to see 8GB in the Pad 6, especially if the expected Android 12L system that’s optimised for tablets arrives this year.

Starting with the Alienware m18, the laptop offers four processor choices that range from the 14-core Intel Core i7-13650HX, to the 24-core Intel Core i9-13980HX. These are combined with five GPU choices, which range from the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4050 with 6GB GDDR6 graphics, to the RTX 4090 with 16GB GDDR6.

While this combination is rated for 175W power throughput, Dell says that the laptop can be overclocked via the onboard software command centre to up to 250W throughput.

This is combined with two display choices — an 18-inch quad HD+ panel with 165Hz refresh rate, 3ms response time, 100 percent sRGB colour gamut coverage and both Nvidia G-Sync and AMD FreeSync support; and a second 18-inch panel with full HD+ resolution and 480Hz refresh rate.

The rest of the specifications remain the same. The laptop can also be configured with 16GB, 32GB or 64GB of DDR5 memory, while storage options range from 256GB to a whopping 9TB of NVMe PCIe M.2 SSD — the latter made possible in four PCIe SSD configuration.

Other key features include low-profile CherryMX keys with 1.8mm key travel and anti-wobble balance, 26.7mm width featuring the new Legend 3.0 design, and Cryo-tech cooling technology that includes four fans, seven copper heat pipes, vapour chambers for both CPU and GPU, and gallium-silicone thermal interface material for extra thermal absorption. All of this is powered by a 97Wh battery.

Alienware x16 R1

The slimmer and the neater looking of the two, and also more portable, the Alienware x16 R1 laptop offers a sleek design, coupled with the same layout of ports to the rear, surrounded by fan vents and RGB LED lighting. The laptop features a full-metal body, and comes with six speakers including two down-firing woofers — all of which have been co-developed with Dolby.

The AlienFX RGB LED custom lighting configurations extend to the trackpad on this laptop as well, while the Cryo-tech cooling and CherryMX keyboard remain the same as above.
Alienware also advertises a power adapter that is 25 percent lighter and 46 percent smaller than the older versions.

In terms of core specifications, the laptop offers three 16-inch display choices — two quad HD+ variants with 165Hz or 240Hz refresh rate, and one full HD+ variant with 480Hz refresh rate.

All of the options offer 100 percent DCI-P3 colour gamut coverage, and support for both Nvidia G-Sync and AMD FreeSync.

The five GPU choices remain the same, but there are three processor options ranging from the i7-13620H to i9-13900HK. Storage options range from 256GB to 4TB of PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD, while users can configure it with 16GB or 32GB of DDR5 memory. Instead of a full HD webcam, the Alienware m16 R1 offers an HD webcam.

It also features a 90W battery, with choices of between a 240W or 330W power adapter depending on your laptop’s configuration. The laptop is 18.6mm thick.

Inspiron 16, 16 2-in-1

The Dell Inspiron 16 5630 is powered by up to 13th gen Intel Core i7-1360P processor, along with Intel Iris Xe graphics.

The Inspiron 16 2-in-1 7630 laptop features the same processor choice, but includes a Core i5 variant as well, along with discrete graphics options with GeForce MX550 2GB GDDR6 GPU.

You get two 16-inch touchscreen display choices, including a full HD+ 16:10 variant, and an OLED 4K option as well.

RAM and storage options include 8GB or 16GB of LPDDR5 memory, and 512GB SSD storage. It also has a full HD webcam, Wi-Fi 6E, a backlit keyboard, and an 86Wh battery with 65W USB-C charging adapter.

Coming to the camera test, DXOMARK said it took photos and videos in different environments such as outdoors, lowlight, and indoors along with portraits of people. Overall, the phone is recommended for capturing landscapes and portraits as it manages to grab a lot of natural light in all lighting conditions.

The OPPO Find X6 Pro‘s large image sensors are also said to prove beneficial for “excellent texture and noise results in photo, zoom, bokeh, and video”.

FAQ’s on Oppo Find X6 Pro

1) What did Oppo Find X6 Pro Camera test reveal ?

Ans) The Oppo Find X6 Pro is the new No. 1 in the DXOMARK Camera ranking for smartphones, thanks to an outstanding overall performance and massive improvements over its predecessor, making it an excellent option for photographers who want to capture landscapes and portraits with lots of natural detail in all light conditions.

The latest Oppo flagship uses large image sensors across all camera modules, which contributes to excellent texture and noise results in photo, zoom, bokeh, and video. In our tests, fine detail was preserved impressively well, and noise levels were kept very low, making the Find X6 Pro the best smartphone to date in terms of texture/noise trade-off.
This remained true even in low light, earning the Oppo the top score for low-light performance.

The outstanding texture and noise results in dim conditions, in addition to the accurate target exposure and nice colors, mean the Oppo Find X6 Pro is the currently best option for smartphone photography in challenging low-light conditions.

The Find X6 Pro also did very well in Zoom. Like its predecessors, the new Oppo flagship uses a fairly short focal length on the tele camera module (65mm equivalent) and provides an ultra-wide module with a 15mm equivalent focal length.

The large sensors in these modules are capable of collecting a lot of photons and therefore image information.

This means fine detail is preserved nicely not only when shooting with the primary module, but at all zoom factors from 0.6x to 3.5x, across all light conditions.

Also, very few deformation artifacts are visible thanks to their focal length choices. In our tests, the Oppo also delivered very nice bokeh images, with excellent sharpness and accurate bokeh segmentation.

Given the Find X6 Pro’s impressive results in the test protocol, we compared it with other top flagship phones in the  DXOMARK database.

Because it is one of the few devices featuring a large 1-inch sensor, it made sense to use the  Vivo X90 Pro+ and Xiaomi 13 Pro, which also have large sensors, to challenge Oppo’s performances in texture/noise trade-off and low light, and to show how well the sensors’ capacities are used.

When evaluating zoom quality, the  Oppo Find X6 Pro’s main competitor is the Honor Magic5 Pro as both devices manage to provide consistent performances in all conditions from super-wide to medium range.

It also allows to compare HDR-processing quality and shutter speed, two aspects that are key to image quality and in which the Honor Magic5 Pro shows outstanding results.
Focus comparisons are also made with the Huawei Mate 50 Pro, whose variable aperture technology adapts the depth of field to image content.

In video, the Find X6 Pro is compared with the  Apple iPhone 14 Pro, which is still ranked No.1 in video.

Both phones have different video technologies, with  Apple using an HDR-10-bit visualization format and  Oppo  remaining safely with an SDR-8-bit video format.

Despite these vastly different formats, it was interesting to see how the Find X6 Pro pushed the limits of its video technology to be able to provide a top texture/noise compromise and an impressive performance in low-light conditions that nearly matched the iPhone 14 Pro’s performance.

2) What are the Key camera specifications of Oppo Find X6 Pro ?

Ans) * Primary:  50MP 1″sensor, 23mm equivalent f/1.8-aperture lens, OIS
* Ultra-wide: 50MP 1/1.56″sensor, 15mm equivalent f/2.2-aperture lens
* Tele: 50MP 1/1.56″ sensor, 65mm equivalent f/2.6-aperture lens

iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max to feature classic buttons, solid-state plan changed in the end: Report

0

HIGHLIGHTS

* Apple is set to unveil the iPhone 15 series in the second half of 2023.
* The Pro models of the series were said to feature solid-state buttons.
* It is said that Apple has reverted the plan.

Amid several rumours and speculations about the upcoming iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo hints that the tech giant Apple has ditched plans for the new solid-state volume buttons in these models, and they will likely stick to the traditional physical button design.

iPhone 15 Pro

Several reports had said the high-end iPhone 15 Pro models would have a solid-state volume button with the Taptic Engine to make it feel like a physical click.

In fact, some alleged leaked renders also showed that solid-state surfaces would replace the volume buttons, but new information contradicts it all.

iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max solid-state Buttons

iPhone 15 Pro

At first, Jeff Pu, an analyst at Haitong Tech, said that the iPhone 15 Pro might not have solid-state buttons after all.

He said this was because the new solution would be more difficult to develop.
Later, reliable analyst Kuo confirmed the news.

Kuo says the upcoming iPhone 15 Pro is still in the Engineer Validation Test (EVT) stage, indicating that the tech giant can still change the final design.
He said that removing the solid-state buttons would make development and testing easier.
But Apple suppliers Cirrus Logic and AAC Technologies will lose out because they would have made parts for the new buttons.

Meanwhile, the iPhone 15 Pro was also said to have a customisable capacitive action button, seen on Apple Watch Ultra ,than a mute switch. However, it is unclear if this plan has also changed or is still the same.

iPhone 15 Pro Leaked Render

iPhone 15 Pro

On the other hand, a new leak of what are said to be official early-stage design renders of the iPhone 15 Pro shows small changes to its overall frame, camera module, edges, and display, as well as a long-awaited new colour.

It seems to have a redesigned titanium clamshell body with rounded corners and smooth edges near the screen.

The screen and the phone’s body fit together better, with the glass having a slight curve that blends into the titanium shell.

This gives the iPhone 15 Pro super thin bezels that are 1.55mm all the way around. The device still has the same pill-shaped Dynamic Island introduced with the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max lines.

It should be noted that several rumours are around the corner about these upcoming iPhone models.

However, the company will only disclose the new features only when it will release the iPhone 15 series in the second half of this year, which will include the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max, likely to be renamed iPhone 15 Ultra.

Faqs on IPhone 15 Pro & IPhone 15 Pro Max

1) iPhone 15 Pro: here’s what’s expected?

Ans) According to a recent report , IPhone 15 pro appears to feature a redesigned titanium clamshell body, with smoother edges at the corners and towards the display.

The smartphone body has a smoother integration with the display, with the glass featuring a slight curvature that merges into the titanium shell.

This gives the iPhone 15 Pro super slim bezels that are 1.55mm all around, while the device retains the same pill-shaped Dynamic Island notch that was introduced on the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max lineups.

The redesigning of the titanium body of the iPhone 15 Pro gives the device total width of 70.46mm — down from 71.45mm on the predecessor.
While this makes it slimmer by about a millimeter, the same will likely not reflect in the in-hand feel.

What could, however, are the smoother edges on the phone. Apart from this, the iPhone 15 Pro is tipped to feature even larger rear cameras, which will feature new sensors that can “capture more light and reduce over and underexposure” — as per the leaked post. This appears to be different from the iPhone 15 Pro Max, which will seemingly feature a periscope lens for telephoto optical zoom.

Other key new features include haptic volume buttons and the mute slider to the left, and finally, the switch to a USB Type-C charging port instead of Apple’s proprietary Lightning port.

The leaked post claims that Apple will allow fast charging only through select, certified USB-C cables, all of which remains to be seen.

Finally, the iPhone 15 Pro is tipped to get a Deep Red colour variant, which has been expected for a while now.

2) Where are the bezels?

Ans) Bezels will be shrunk this year again, with tighter borders all around the screen. They’ll measure at a mere 1.55mm, which could be among the thinnest in the industry. Android Phones have lately been winning at the bezels game but Apple is seemingly poised to reclaim its champion status.

If bezels are shrunk even as the screen size is retained, by physics the phone should grow marginally smaller.

The iPhone 15 Pro is indeed an itsy-bitsy more portable than the iPhone 14 Pro, with the former’s dimensions standing at 70.46 x 146.47 x 8.24mm versus the latter’s 71.45 x 147.46mm x 7.84mm.

3) Does the iPhone 15 pro say Goodbye to buttons ?

Ans) The iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max may be completely button-less if rumours are to be believed.

Users will instead perform the associated actions using solid-state haptic buttons. The clicky feel will be emulated with two dedicated haptic engines that will probably be situated under the buttons.

4) Does the iPhone 15 pro design say Goodbye to Lightning ports?

Ans) Apple is also very much expected to finally ditch the Lightning port in favour of the glorious (and more universal) USB-C port with the iPhone 15 series.
We hope that this will translate to faster charging speeds.

5) Does Titanium frame = lighter build in the upcoming iPhone 15 pro ?

Ans) Probably the biggest upgrade in terms of design – and thus also the most noticeable – will be the new titanium frame. The frame is apparently returning to the rounded-edged design, albeit in a very subtle manner.

It doesn’t look like a very strong curve but should help make the phone a lot comfier in hand.

The use of titanium is also interesting since the iPhones have featured stainless steel for a while now.

Titanium is a remarkably light material with an excellent strength-to-weight ratio.
It should finally help shave off several grams off the Pro models, which of late are getting dangerously close to tablet territory weight-wise.

6) Have the Cameras grown even thicker in the new IPhone 15 pro ?

Ans) Apple has once again increasing the size of the cameras on the iPhone 15 Pro. The bump has grown even thicker than it already was, with CAD files revealing that the lens protrusion has doubled since last year.

On the one hand, this will definitely not help with stability when the phone’s placed on a table.

But on the other, it suggests that Apple is stuffing the iPhone 15 Pro with significant camera upgrades.

Rumours seem to agree, saying that the phone will “capture more light and reduce overexposure or underexposure in certain settings.”

7) What is the latest update on IPhone 15 Pro by Ming Chi Kuo ?

Ans) Apple’s upcoming iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max models will no longer feature solid-state buttons, according to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. The change is due to unresolved technical issues before mass production.

Kuo had previously stated that the devices would be equipped with solid-state buttons, which offer haptic feedback to simulate the feeling of pressing a button. However, in a Medium post, he confirmed that the phones will have physical buttons instead.

It is unclear whether the design will feature two volume buttons or a single, elongated button, as was previously rumored. Kuo believes that the change will have limited impact on the mass production schedule and shipments for the Pro models, as there is still time for Apple to modify the device’s design during the EVT development stage, MacRumors reported.

Meanwhile, another report recently claimed that iPhone 15 Pro will feature a titanium frame with a rounder-edged design, new buttons, a giant camera bump, and more. According to GSMArena, the size of the individual camera protrusions will increase once again, and the entire hump will thicken.

Moreover, the report mentioned that iPhone 15 Pro Max sports a smaller camera protrusion as well, which is rumoured to house a periscope zoom lens. According to previous speculations, the iPhone 15 Pro’s cameras will have “all-new sensor technology that will capture more light and reduce overexposure or underexposure in certain settings”.

USB-C port is also widely expected to be included in all iPhone 15 versions, but the fastest charging will be limited to USB-C cables certified by Apple. The report further showed that the volume and mute buttons will be haptic rather than physical, with two haptic engines dedicated to simulating button presses.

The mute toggle will no longer be a sliding switch, but a haptic button. As with the back glass, the screen glass will have a subtle curvature, transitioning seamlessly into the titanium frame, with only 1.55mm bezels all around.

The thinner bezels will make the iPhone 15 Pro narrower than its predecessor, since the screen size will stay the same, according to the report.
