April will see many exciting launches of phones which we all have been eagerly waiting for after a busy marsh with many smartphone launches we witnessed.
In this article. we will be taking a look at the phones that will be launching in the month of April.
OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite
Chinese smartphone maker OnePlus has confirmed that it is launching the upcoming
OnePlus Nord Buds 2 in India on April 4th, alongside the OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite.
The device will launch in Pastel Lime and Chromatic Grey colour options. The frame has the power button on the right side, whereas the SIM tray and the volume buttons are on the left edge.
At the bottom edge, there is the USB Type-C port, a 3.5mm headphone jack and the primary speaker grille.
The rear panel houses two large circular cutouts for the triple-camera setup. As per the leaked specs the Nord CE 3 Lite 5G has a 108MP main camera with an f/1.7 aperture. It is accompanied by a 2MP macro sensor and a 2MP depth sensor.
On the front, there is a flat screen, which according to the leaked details is 6.72 inches diagonally tall and offers a Full HD+ resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels.
The phone has support for a 120Hz refresh rate as well. According to the leaked details, the Nord CE 3 Lite 5G will have an IPS LCD panel.
There is a hole-punch cutout at the top centre for the front camera. The Nord CE 3 Lite 5G has a 16MP f/2.4 front camera.
In addition to this, the phone is said to feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 SoC, which was also found in the Nord CE 2 Lite 5G.
There will be a 5000mAh battery with support for 67W SuperVOOC charging. The device will run Android 13 out of the box. It will have a layer of Oxygen OS 13.1 on top. The phone will get two major Android updates and security support for three years.
It will be priced at EUR 329 (roughly Rs 29,200). For the price, the phone will offer 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. There will be support for storage expansion via a microSD card slot.
Poco F5 5G
Poco F5 5G is all set to launch on 6th April. The POCO F5 5G is tipped to be a rebranded version of the Redmi Note 12 Turbo, which is said to launch soon in China.
The device will reportedly feature a 6.67-inch FHD+ AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate.
The base variant will feature 8GB RAM and 128GB storage, the mid-tier variant will have 8GB RAM and 256GB storage, and the top-tier variant will feature 12GB RAM and 256GB storage.
Under the hood, the POCO F5 5G is rumoured to drive power from an unannounced and upcoming Snapdragon 7-series processor, which will be coupled with up to 12GB RAM and up to 256GB storage.
In terms of cameras, the POCO F5 5G is tipped to offer a 50MP + 8MP + 2MP triple rear camera setup and a 16MP selfie snapper.
The POCO F5 lineup, allegedly consisting of the vanilla POCO F5 5G and the POCO F5 Pro 5G smartphones.
Asus Rog Phone 7
Asus Rog Phone 7 is set to launch on April 13. The ASUS ROG Phone 7 series will include two smartphones this time around. According to a new leak, there will be the ROG Phone 7 and ROG Phone 7 Ultimate launching under the new flagship gaming series.
Its revealed that ASUS will launch its upcoming ROG Phone series gaming smartphones with the flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC.
This was kind of obvious as ASUS’ flagship phone series feature the top-end SoCs available fat the time of the launch.
The ROG Phone 7 series could possibly get the standard Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC with a peak clock speed of 3.2GHz and not the overclocked version found in the Samsung Galaxy S23 series.
It will feature a triple-camera setup on the back. The primary camera sensor is not likely to change compared to the ROG Phone 6 series.
There will be a 50MP Sony IMX766 main camera sensor. It will be accompanied by a 13MP ultra-wide camera and an 8MP macro sensor, according to Yadav, On the front, there will be a 32MP front camera sensor.
The ROG Phone 7 series will measure 173 x 77 x 10.3mm. The devices will also be quite heavy at 239 grams.
The ROG Phone 7 Ultimate will pack more RAM and storage. It is said to offer 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. The vanilla model could come with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. As expected, the devices will run Android 13 out of the box.
They will have a layer of ROG UI on top of Android. Some other details of the phones have leaked in the past.
The two devices will pack a beefy 6000mAh battery under the hood. There will be support for 65W fast charging out of the box.
The ROG Phone 7 series will sport a tall 6.8-inch AMOLED display with a Full HD+ resolution and 165Hz refresh rate. The devices are also likely to feature some high-end cooling system under the hood to keep thermals in check.
The pricing and sale date of the ROG Phone 7 series will be announced at the event on April 13.
Realme GT Neo 5 SE (China)
Realme is the first brand to launch a phone in the month of April. The brand is gearing up to introduce the Realme GT Neo 5 SE in China on April 3rd. Like the Redmi Note 12 Turbo, the handset will ship with the newly announced Snapdragon 7+ Gen2 SoC.
The handset will arrive as a sub-variant to the original Realme GT Neo 5. The handset is expected to come with a 6.74-inch AMOLED display with up to 144Hz refresh rate, and 2160Hz high-frequency PWM dimming.
The Realme phone will have triple camera sensors on the back, with a 64MP Omnivision OV64M sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera, and a 2MP GC02M macro camera.
There is a 16MP front camera. There will be a large 5500mAh battery with 100W SuperVOOC fast charging.
Redmi Note 12 series (Malaysia)
Redmi Note 12 launched in China, globally and in India also. Now, the company is gearing up to introduce the phones in Malaysia on April 5th. The brand should be debuting the 5G models in the country.
There will be at least three models:
Redmi Note 12, Note 12 Pro, and probably the Redmi Note 12 Pro+. The top-end variant in the lineup is expected to come with a 200MP primary camera, which is a first for the budget segment. The Redmi Note 12 Pro and Note 12 Pro+ feature the MediaTek Dimensity 1080 SoC.
Starting with the vanilla Redmi Note 12 5G, you get a 6.67-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED with up to 120Hz refresh rate and 240Hz touch sampling rate.
The screen also supports a 100 per cent DCI-P3 color gamut, a 4,500,000:1 contrast ratio, and 1200 nits peak brightness.
The Redmi Note 12 Pro and Note 12 Pro+ get similar 6.67-inch Super AMOLED displays with refresh rates ranging between 30Hz to 120Hz depending on the content on the screen. The Pro+ model also gets Gorilla Glass 5 protection on the front.
For cameras, the Redmi Note 12 5G gets a 48MP primary rear camera assisted by an 8MP ultra-wide lens and a 2MP macro lens. The Redmi Note 12 Pro gets a 50MP primary camera with optical image stabilisation while the 8MP ultra-wide and 2MP macro are the same as the ones on the vanilla model.
The Redmi Note 12 Pro+, on the other hand, touts a whopping 200MP Samsung HPX primary camera sensor with OIS.
The primary camera can shoot in 12.5MP pixel binning mode, 50MP mode, and 200MP raw mode.
Xiaomi claims the Redmi Note 12 Pro+ can capture great low-light images, pictures with more dynamic range, and excellent detail, among other things.
There’s a 13MP front camera on the Redmi Note 12 and a 16MP sensor on the Pro models.
Under the hood, the Redmi Note 12 5G gets the Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 chipset while the Redmi Note 12 Pro and Note 12 Pro+ are powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 1080 processor.
All three devices ship with MIUI 13 based on Android 12 with the promise of 2 years of major software updates (Android 13 and Android 14) and 4 years of security updates.
The Redmi Note 12 and Redmi Note 12 Pro house a 5,000mAh battery, with the former supporting 33W charging and the latter getting 67W charging. The Redmi Note 12 Pro+ gets a marginally smaller 4,980mAh battery but with a faster 120W charging speed.
Xiaomi claims the phone can fully charge in just 19 minutes. And yes, Xiaomi is bundling a 120W charger in the box.
The Redmi Note 12 Pro measures 7.9mm in thickness, making it the slimmest Note phone from the brand yet.
All three phones also come with a 3.5mm headphone jack.
