Highlights

  • Apple adds Clean HDMI Out to Final Cut Camera that enables professional creators to output video without overlays.

Apple has rolled out a new update for Final Cut Camera that introduces the Clean HDMI Out feature. The new feature allows professional video creators a cleaner way to output live footage to an external monitor or recorder without on-screen controls or overlays. However, the new capability is available exclusively on the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max. Here are more details.

Clean HDMI Out Feature in Final Cut Camera

The newly added Clean HDMI Out feature allows users to transmit a clean video feed from the Final Cut Camera app to an external display or recording device. By removing interface elements and overlays, the feature lets creators focus entirely on the framing, lighting, subject, and overall image during filming.

It is particularly useful for users who rely on the iPhone as part of a professional video production setup and connect it to larger monitors while shooting.

According to the release notes, “Use Clean HDMI Out to send a clean video feed without overlays to an external monitor or recorder so you can stay focused on the image being captured (requires iPhone 17 Pro).”

Easier Workflow Between iPhone and Mac

The latest update also improves the integration between Final Cut Camera and Final Cut Pro. Users can now import footage directly into Final Cut Pro by connecting their iPhone to a Mac and this will make the editing process more seamless for those who record videos on an iPhone and complete their projects on a Mac.

Apple appears to have introduced this feature with professional content creators in mind. A clean HDMI output offers greater flexibility during production and makes the iPhone 17 Pro lineup better suited for studio-style video workflows.

The feature is not available on all iPhone models and is only meant for advanced camera capabilities exclusive to its Pro series.

Samsung has finally started teasing its next-generation foldable smartphone ahead of the upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event. The Korean tech giant hinted at a noticeably wider foldable device for the first time by posting short videos on social media. Rumours and reports so far have widely referred to this majorly redesigned Samsung foldable as the “Galaxy Z Fold Wide. Here’s more on recent teasers.

Samsung India’s official Instagram page posted a few teaser videos recently. These video teasers do not reveal the smartphone directly but instead use unusually shaped everyday objects such as a broken chocolate bar and an incomplete puzzle to hint at a new aspect ratio for its upcoming foldable.

The teasers suggest a shorter and wider folded design, which could make the outer display feel more like a regular smartphone while also offering a wider viewing area when the device is unfolded.

Galaxy Unpacked Event Likely on July 22

Several reports have previously claimed that Samsung will host its next Galaxy Unpacked event on July 22 in London. The company has now strongly hinted that this could indeed be the launch date.

Samsung Malaysia is offering loyal customers an exclusive MYR 700 (around $171) discount on the purchase of their next Galaxy foldable through the Samsung Members app. The promotional offer will be available from July 22 until October 4.

Since the discount code becomes available on July 22, it serves as a strong indication that Samsung’s next Galaxy Unpacked event is expected to take place on the same day. Official invitations for the event are expected to be announced soon.

Samsung Galaxy Unpacked – Expected Launches

Samsung is expected to introduce several foldable smartphones during the upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event. According to recent reports so far, the lineup may include the flagship Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, which is expected to retain the standard book-style foldable design alongside the regular Galaxy Z Fold 8 that is tipped to debut with Samsung’s new wider form factor.

Galaxy Z Fold 8 is expected to weigh around 201g and tipped to measure 4.5mm in thickness when unfolded and 9.7mm when folded.

The standard Galaxy Z Fold 8 is expected to feature a 7.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X inner display with a boxier 4:3 aspect ratio. It is also tipped to offer a wider 5.5-inch cover display with a 16:10 aspect ratio. According to leaks, Samsung could reserve its traditional taller Fold design for the premium Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, giving buyers two different foldable form factors for the first time.

If Samsung’s wider foldable design delivers a more practical everyday experience while maintaining portability, it could address one of the most common criticisms of book-style foldable smartphones. In any case, we will have to wait for official updates and announcements to know more about what’s in store for us this year.

The listing hints at a broader global rollout for the smartphone with an India launch also appearing to be a possibility.

Motorola Edge 70 Max – Expected Specifications

Motorola has not officially revealed the specifications of the Edge 70 Max yet. However, a report by 91mobiles previously revealed that the handset carrying the model number XT2611 was also spotted on the Wireless Power Consortium (WPC) certification platform. The listing confirmed support for 25W wireless charging.

Another recent report by Digital Citizen claims that the smartphone will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset. If true, Edge 70 Max will become the brand’s second smartphone powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor, following the premium Motorola Signature that debuted earlier this year. Since it will be positioned within the Edge 70 series, it is expected to sit between the Motorola Signature and the Motorola Edge 70 Pro+ in the lineup.

The report further suggests that the device will feature a 50-megapixel primary camera equipped with a Sony LYTIA sensor. It is also expected to come with a MIL-STD-810-certified body. Moreover, the phone may launch in Pantone colour options including Onyx Black, Sage Green, and Glacier Blue.

Apart from these details, the remaining specifications are still under wraps.

The Motorola Edge 70 Pro+ is currently priced at Rs 47,999 in India. Based on its expected positioning, the Edge 70 Max could be launched at around Rs 60,000.

Alleged iPhone 18 Pro Drop Test Video Surfaces After Tata Electronics Data Breach, Design May Have Been Revealed

0

Highlights

  • A data breach at Tata Electronics allegedly exposed over 200,000 Apple files including circuit board drawings and details of the iPhone 18 Pro A20 chipset.
  • An alleged iPhone 18 Pro drop test video surfaced online hinting at a refreshed rear design, thicker build and more protruding camera lenses, though authenticity is unverified.
  • Apple is expected to unveil the iPhone 18 Pro lineup and foldable iPhone in September 2026 with Pro models tipped to feature variable aperture cameras.

Apple’s upcoming iPhone 18 Pro may have leaked ahead of its expected September launch after a reported data breach at one of its suppliers. According to multiple reports, a cybersecurity incident involving Tata Electronics has allegedly exposed internal files related to Apple’s future products including an alleged drop test video of the iPhone 18 Pro that has been circulating on social media.

While the authenticity of the leaked video has not been independently verified, it has sparked speculation about the final design of Apple’s next-generation flagship smartphone.

According to reports, Tata Electronics, one of Apple’s India-based suppliers recently suffered a cybersecurity incident that allegedly resulted in more than 200,000 files being uploaded to the dark web.

The leaked data is said to include documentation related to several products manufactured by Tata. A Reuters report claims the files also contain drawings of the iPhone 18 Pro circuit board, details of the Apple A20 chipset and supplier component lists.

The leaked material reportedly includes images from Apple’s durability testing process. Although there is no confirmation that videos were part of the leaked files, an alleged iPhone 18 Pro drop test video briefly appeared on social media before being removed.

Alleged Drop Test Video Hints at Refreshed Design

The video was initially shared on X by well-known tipster Ice Universe before it was taken down. Commenting on the clip, the tipster said, “This is easily the biggest leak in Apple’s history. You’re looking at the drop test of the iPhone 18 Pro. Durability seems solid, but it’s still surprisingly thick, and the weight remains a concern. The new color looks pretty good, though.”

According to the leaked footage, the alleged iPhone 18 Pro appears to feature a refreshed rear design with a metal-and-glass finish that looks more uniform compared to the two-tone design seen on the iPhone 17 series.

The video also suggests that the rear camera lenses protrude further from the body than those on the iPhone 17 Pro.

Another version of the same video from a different angle was reportedly shared by EVLeaks before it was also removed. However, a post from X users such as TechKard and TrakinTech showing both videos side by side reportedly remains available.

It is worth noting that multiple tech publications have stated that they have not been able to verify whether the leaked footage is genuine or AI-generated.

Meanwhile, Apple has not issued any public statement regarding the reported data breach. However, a Tata Electronics spokesperson told TechCrunch that the incident had “no impact on our operations across businesses, which remain unaffected.”

As with all leaks, readers should treat the information with caution until Apple officially unveils the iPhone 18 series.

iPhone 18 Pro – What to Expect?

Based on previous rumours, the iPhone 18 Pro is expected to retain a triple 48MP rear camera setup comprising a primary, ultra-wide, and 4x telephoto camera. However, Apple is also tipped to introduce a variable aperture camera system for the first time on an iPhone allowing improved control over light intake and photography.

Apple is widely expected to unveil the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and its first foldable iPhone, which has been referred to as the iPhone Fold in leaks during its September launch event. Recent speculation suggests the event could take place on September 8 although Apple has not officially confirmed the date.
