Soon after an acquisition agreement between Twitter and Tesla and SpaceX boss Elon Musk, several hashtags started trending on the micro blogging site. Musk, a high-profile Twitter user and a controversial one, has more than 83 million followers on the platform, which he has used over the years.

Musk has repeatedly stressed in recent days that his goal is to bolster free speech on the platform and work to “unlock” Twitter’s “extraordinary potential.”

#GoodbyeTwitter, #ParagAgrawal, #TwitterTakeover #ElonMusk #leaving twitter and #CEOOF Twitter are among other hashtags trending on the Twitter.

Poking fun at supposed liberals who couldn’t stomach Musk’s approach to free speech, users are tagging their posts with #GoodByeTwitter.

Twitter on April 25 announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement to be acquired by an entity wholly owned by Elon Musk at approximately $44 billion. Twitter will become a privately held company after completion of the transaction.

In addition to hashtags, Twitter is also bombarded with some of the funniest memes and reactions. Musk, a self-proclaimed “free-speech absolutist,” has been critical of Twitter policies. In his first tweet after the acquisition deal, Musk writes I hope that even my worst critics remain on Twitter, because that is what free speech means. Several celebrities also reacted on deal between Twitter and Elon Musk.

In no time, this led to a meme fest on Twitter and some users started immediately advocating for the reinstatement of those who have been banned from the micro-blogging site, including former President Donald Trump.

Asking Musk when are you planning to run for President, a Twitter user said you understand free speech better than most—including our Congressional reps.

Replying to Elon Musk’s tweet, another user suggests him to create your own platform? It will cost you around 1 mil $ or so.. PM for more info.

While a user by name Humberto A Lopez asked Musk if he has any plans for people who spread misinformation.

Another user called Basit Bhat shared an image showing a pictorial conversation between Amazon.com Inc founder Jeff Bezos and Elon Musk. Bezos can be seen asking Musk ‘heard you are buying Twitter’. In his response to Bezos, Musk says Amazon is next and has been added in the cart.

Musk himself is known for regularly blocking social media users who have criticized him or his company. Tesla CEO also used the platform to bully reporters who have written critical articles about him or his company. Some users tweeted that free speech had prevailed and the phrase “Make Twitter Great Again” began trending.

Transaction terms and financing

Twitter Board of Directors have unanimously approved the transactions and is expected to close in 2022, subject to the approval of Twitter stockholders, the receipt of applicable regulatory approvals and the satisfaction of other customary closing conditions.

Musk has secured $25.5 billion of fully committed debt and margin loan financing and is providing an approximately $21.0 billion equity commitment. There are no financing conditions to the closing of the transaction.

Truecaller users will not be able to record calls, here is why

0

Popular global platform for verifying contacts and blocking unwanted communication Truecaller, has decided to discontinue the call recording feature from its app. The decision has been taken after Google updated its developer policy.

Earlier, Google announced to ban all third-party call recording applications. Truecaller’s response has come as a measure to avoid being banned by the Google from Play Store. Effective May 11, Google will remove all the call recording applications from Play Store.

Recently, Google announced that applications to record calls, called Accessibility API, is not designed and cannot be requested for remote call audio recording. It must be mentioned here that the use of a microphone for recording calls was removed in Android 10. A call recording warning on Dialer app was also introduced by the Google.

Option for Android users

Those who are using Android smartphone need not to be bothered as they can use call recording feature with the help of Google Dialer or the Phone app. You need to press the record button for call recording. However, as and when a user presses the record button, an announcement “this call is now being recorded” is made automatically to make both parties aware of the call recording.

Additionally, Google’s stance curbs call recordings without the consent of a user, as most third-party call recording applications do. Nevertheless, some smartphone manufacturers still provide the feature in-built, in a way that users do not require to download any app.

With the latest update, the WhatsApp Group Voice Calls can support up to 32 participants

0

WhatsApp has been a surprise packet since the start of the year 2022. We can see many new features targeted to improve user experience and make the in-app experience much better. Some of them have been rolled out already and some are still in the beta version. Like we already have the message reaction feature, we can now transfer large files, and we also have the multi-device login functionality. So, following the trend, WhatsApp has introduced its latest update for group voice calls. Readout what it has for the users!

WhatsApp will soon support 32 people in a group voice call

WhatsApp announced a bunch of new features and this is also one of the major ones. WhatsApp will now support 32 participants in a group voice call. It has been a substantial jump from the previous limit of 8 participants. Also, this limit only follows the voice calls as of now. However, we can expect it to come for the video calls very soon.

Whatsapp 32 participants

The rollout of the new feature is happening across Google Android as well as Apple iOS. WhatsApp has also updated its FAQ new limit. The latest FAQ section claims “Group calling allows up to 32 participants to voice call with each other using WhatsApp for free. Apple users can also make use of the new call limit.” The listing on App Store shows that the new update brings support for 32 participants.

The listing on App Store also states that “Group voice calls now support up to 32 participants, and include an updated interface with a social audio layout, speaker highlight, and waveforms.”

How it is going to work?

When you receive a group voice call, the incoming WhatsApp group voice call screen will display the members who are presently on the call, with the person who added you mentioned first. The ‘Calls’ page will display the history of group voice calls. You may view the individual participants from the call by tapping the call history. If missed calls are still active, you can join them.

WhatsApp New Features

Along with this great feature, WhatsApp had also announced a slew of other features last week. Let’s have a quick look at what it has offered to the users!

Message Reaction

The reaction feature is nothing new. If you use Facebook and are a big fan of Instagram, you must have heard of it. It is a significant update to WhatsApp as there are many messages that we don’t want to reply to directly. This comes in handy when we want to save that awkward silence of a text and avoid that unnecessary chitchat. Using the reaction feature, people can easily respond to all their messages by sending only one reaction. People may rapidly express themselves without having to send a slew of fresh texts.

Large File sharing

Another significant update that WhatsApp has brought for the users. The file-sharing limit on WhatsApp has been increased to 2 GB. WhatsApp claims to be doing this to make it easier for individuals to cooperate on projects. Before the formal launch, specifics regarding the file format will be published.

Communities

WhatsApp will soon launch Communities, an innovation to better manage groups and have more meaningful discussions, in response to user requests from around the world. A WhatsApp spokeswoman described communities as a “directory of groups,” adding that the feature will allow anybody to “create their own community with various groups yet shared links.” This was “based on feedback that people get disoriented because of the numerous groupings,” according to the spokeswoman. Anyone may start a community and invite numerous groups to participate. However, the groups will only become members of the community if their respective administrators accept the invitation. For example, you may have a single community for a single firm with many groups of users from various user groups inside that organisation.
