Besides this, Xiaomi 13 series, Motorola X40, Oppo Find N2 series, Redmi Note 12 5G, and Infinix Zero series is scheduled to be launched soon this month.

The smartphone pipeline is long and happening. And with the recent rollout of Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor has given mobile companies another reason to release the devices and the launch date of the devices helmed by the latest chipset.

Moreover, manufacturers are focusing on mid-range and budgeted devices to expand the consumer base. Further mentioned is the selective list of mobiles launched or scheduled to be launched in December.

Samsung Galaxy M04

On December 9, 2022, Samsung launched a budget-friendly smartphone in India Samsung Galaxy M04. The starting price of this device is Rs 8,499. This new Samsung Galaxy M04 smartphone is powered by a MediaTek Helio P35 processor and has an HD+ display screen with a refresh rate of 90 Hz.

Besides this, this budget-friendly smartphone has a 13 MP primary camera, and a 5 MP selfie camera, coupled with the 15 W fast charging. Additionally, this device entails a 5,000 mAh battery that promises a decent battery retention feature.

iQoo 11 Series

On December 8, 2022, iQoo 11 Series saw the first ray of light in China. The model and monikers include iQoo 11 and iQoo 11 Pro smartphones and shall launch in India by January 2023. Tecno Phantom X2 series

Realme 10 Pro 5G series

On December 8, 2022, Realme 10 Pro 5G series was launched in India. There are two models in the series namely the Realme 10 Pro with a starting price of Rs 18,999 and the Realme 10 Pro+ model starting at Rs 24,999. The same features in both handsets include 8 GB RAM, a 108 MP primary camera, a 120 Hz screen, and a 5,000 mAh battery.

The Realme 10 Pro is powered by the Snapdragon 695 processor. Whereas, the Realme 10 Pro+ model is helmed by MediaTek Dimensity 1080 chipset and also has a curved screen, HDR10+ support, and 2,160 Hz PWM dimming. The Pro+ model features 67 W fast charging whereas the pro model features 33 W.

Realme 10 Pro + Design and Build

The design has also been reworked as both the front and the back curve into the plastic frame making the phone feel razor-thin in the hand. The kaleidoscope-like glittering finish on the plastic back panel really catches the eye. However, there is no official Ingress Protection, which is both strange and yet understandable given the market segment this smartphone will be appealing.

The 10 Pro Plus with a 6.7-inch AMOLED screen has a curved display with a 1080p resolution and a 120hz refresh rate. The double-reinforced glass is perfectly durable and the screen size is larger than the previous models.

The fast faster refresh rate for swiping and scrolling makes the whole everyday smartphone experience smoother. It will dial down to 60hz to save energy when idling too. Moreover, the Realme 10 Pro Plus is considerably brighter than its predecessor with a maximum of 480 nits with the manual slider and this can be further boosted to up to over 800 nits in auto mode.

If you need it outdoors, 10 Pro Plus comes with another new feature that is support for 10-bit colour depth, The colour accuracy of the screen is great along with the contrast and the support for HDR 10 plus as well. You can wake up and unlock the phone with an under-display fingerprint reader. It is super fast and consistent.

Realme 10 Pro + Hardware & Software – Dimensity 1080 5G chipset and Realme UI 4.0

The Realme 10 Pro + is powered by a brand new chipset a MediaTek Demensity 1080, which is an improvement over the previous model’s Demensity 920. This facilitates slightly better performance and efficiency along with an upgraded ISP for the cameras.

The enhanced performance isn’t huge though and it’s just based on higher clock speeds at the same CPU cores. However, it is always appreciable when smartphone manufacturers put an effort to provide some basic upgrades that we expect from newer smartphone models.

The powerful processor is supported by up to 2.77Gbps* dual carrier aggregation technology and a 6nm TSMC high-efficiency process for optimum smartphone performance. The smartphone got a score of 528,313* on the AnTuTu Benchmark test.

Gamers should rest easy that the device has everything to be able to run Free Fire, MBLL, and several other mainstream mobile games smoothly.

The interface of the smartphone is Realme UI 4.0 and it would not be wrong to mention that it’s actually on top of the latest Android 13. Realme 10 Pro + Camera

The main camera is notable for having a higher resolution than the previous model and being able to provide three times lossless soon. Although, the one thing missing here is OIS.

The main camera shoots 12-megapixel photos by default and when taken in the daylight, the results are pretty good. There’s a great contrast in image quality with adequate dynamic range and likeable colours.

We have seen better fine details such as foliage here and there but at least the processing doesn’t draw your attention to that. It’s quite balanced and there’s a three-time zoom toggle, thanks to the main camera’s large sensor.

Videos can be captured with the main camera in up to 4K at 30fps and the quality is outstanding with excellent detail and sharpness. A point of contention could be the no-stabilization feature in the 4K video recording.

Verdict

The Realme 10 Pro + overall is a decent phone for the price tag and provides plenty of improvements over the previous models launched in recent years. While the 6.7-inch curved display, the 5000mAh battery life with fast charging and the camera functionality are impressive in this smartphone.

Unboxing

Let’s start with the unboxing of the Nokia G60 5G. The packing box is the typical Nokia standard box with nothing fancy or extraordinary. Inside the box, you will get the handset, the SIM ejection tool, some product booklets in the languages relevant to your region and a USBC charging cable. You will also notice that there is no charging brick bundled in the box.

However, this is specifically a regional thing. So, before you place that online order or purchase the smartphone at the store, make sure you confirm on your local Nokia website exactly what items you will be getting with the handset.

Design and Build

Nokia G60 5G looks pretty decent design-wise if we can avoid nitpicking here and there. The back of the smartphone is made out of 100 recycled plastic, while the frame of polycarbonate plastic material is also 60 recycled. The phone also comes with an IP52 splash and dust resistance rating, which basically is a part of its durability features.

What this means from a user’s perspective is that accidental splashes of water or raindrops shouldn’t harm the device in any which way. However, users should be mindful since it doesn’t mean the device is waterproof.

Display

The smartphone user experience of this device is really one of its key highlights. There are no noticeable lags or slowdowns while using this device. Apps launch almost instantly too.

The only time any user might actually feel that this is a mid-range hardware smartphone is while playing games. However, as long as you are not getting into the highest possible graphical settings or heavy games such as Gentian, the performance of the smartphone should be an issue.

Camera quality of Nokia G60 5G

Nokia G60 5G comes with a triple rear camera setup that consists of a 50-megapixel main camera, a 5-megapixel Ultra-wide camera, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. In terms of charging speed, the Nokia G60 comes with a rather conservative 20w maximum charging speed. This goes on to show that you’ll be able to get about 50 per cent of the charge in about 40 minutes of time and a full charge in just over two hours. He further claimed that the new iPad has “officially caught up with the rest of the world” as it came with a USB Type-C port instead of the traditional Lighting port, where he also mentioned about Apple’s decision about supporting only the 1^st generation Lighting connector Apple Pencil on a USB Type-C iPad.

He began the test by first scratching the display screen with marks at Level 6 and grooves at Level 7 on the Mohs hardness scale, following which he scraped the device on its sides with a knife, where the power button that doubles as a fingerprint scanner was revealed, which did not scratch.

Then he used the lighter to test the display’s resistance to fire, where the pixel on the LCD back panel turned black, only to recover later on. The final round was the bend test, where he applied pressure from the back due to which the iPad broke into two, thereby failing the test.
