WhatsApp’s latest feature, ‘WhatsApp Channels stickers‘, is transforming user interaction on its platform.
Rolled out in 150 countries including India, WhatsApp Channels allow select users like celebrities, businesses, and content creators to broadcast updates to a large audience.
This one-way communication tool, reminiscent of Instagram Broadcast, has been enhanced with the introduction of both static and dynamic stickers.
The new ‘WhatsApp Channels stickers’ feature, reported by WABetaInfo, is currently available to a select group of beta testers.
It allows Channel admins to share more expressive content with their followers.
To check if you have this feature, update your WhatsApp beta version, access your Channel tab, and see if the Stickers option appears alongside the emoji keyboard.
Initially available to a few, this feature is expected to reach more beta testers in the coming weeks.
However, according to the Indian Express, all WhatsApp Channels users already have access to it.
Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta, announced that WhatsApp Channels crossed 500 million monthly active users within just seven weeks of its launch.
Found in the Updates tab on both iOS and Android smartphones, these Channels complement WhatsApp Status updates.
It’s important to note that WhatsApp Channels do not offer end-to-end encryption for messages.
Only Channel owners can post, and followers can react to these messages. Furthermore, messages in Channels are visible for only 30 days.
