Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Z Flip 8 To Get Expensive; Z Fold 8 and Fold Wide Specifications Leak, Could Skip S Pen and Privacy Display

0

Highlights

  • Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Z Flip 8 may see higher prices due to rising chipset and memory costs.
  • Leaks suggest the Z Fold 8 and Fold Wide may skip S Pen support and Privacy Display tech as Samsung prioritises thin design and cost control.
  • The Z Fold 8 could feature an 8-inch foldable display, Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, 200MP main + 50MP ultrawide cameras, 5,000mAh battery with 45W charging.

Samsung’s next-generation foldable smartphones could arrive with higher price tags, according to new leaks and reports surfacing ahead of the expected launch later this year. The upcoming Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Flip 8 are said to face pricing pressure due to rising component costs. Meanwhile, fresh details about the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and the rumoured Galaxy Z Fold Wide have also emerged online.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Z Flip 8 May Become More Expensive

Previously leaked Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8.

A report from Korean publication Newspim claims Samsung has been dealing with increasing chipset and memory costs ahead of its next foldable release cycle.

The company is reportedly trying to maintain the pricing of the base storage variants but the higher-end storage options may see noticeable price increases.

At the moment, the base Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Flip 8 models are expected to launch at prices similar to the current generation devices. However, the 512GB and 1TB variants could become more expensive. Samsung has reportedly been following a strategy where premium storage tiers absorb most of the cost increases rather than raising entry-level pricing.

The timing aligns with broader industry trends as DRAM prices continue to rise and AI-related demand places additional pressure on the semiconductor market.

Previously leaked render of Galaxy Z Flip 8.

Galaxy Fold 8 and Fold 8 Wide May Not Get S Pen and Privacy Display

Leaks so far suggest Samsung could focus on refinement rather than dramatic hardware changes with the Fold 8 series. Reports indicate the upgrades may be relatively iterative with some rumours even suggesting that crease reduction may not improve significantly compared to the previous generation.

Another leak claims that Samsung could continue omitting S Pen support and its newer Privacy Display technology from the Galaxy Z Fold 8 lineup. These omissions are reportedly linked to Samsung’s efforts to maintain a thinner design and control production costs.

According to the leak, both the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide are expected to launch without S Pen functionality. Samsung had previously removed the stylus digitiser and under-display camera from the Galaxy Z Fold 7 to achieve an ultra-thin 4.2mm profile. Despite expectations that Samsung could bring back stylus support in a more premium foldable this year, the company may continue prioritising thinness to compete with rival foldables.

The report also claims the entire Galaxy Z Fold 8 lineup could miss out on the Privacy Display technology featured on the Galaxy S26 Ultra, which Samsung reportedly promoted as a key feature of its flagship slab smartphone.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Specifications Leaked

A separate report from Greek publication TechManiacs suggests Samsung may unveil the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Fold Wide around July 22 during the next Galaxy Unpacked event.

The Galaxy Z Fold 8 is tipped to measure 4.1mm in thickness when unfolded and weigh slightly above 210g. The smartphone is expected to run on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, which is also said to power the Galaxy S26 Ultra.

In terms of display, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 could feature a 6.5-inch cover screen and an 8-inch foldable inner display, matching the screen sizes of the Galaxy Z Fold 7.

For photography, Samsung is expected to retain the 200-megapixel primary rear camera. However, the ultra-wide camera may receive a major upgrade jumping from 12 megapixels to 50 megapixels. The dual front-facing cameras are tipped to remain at 10 megapixels each.

Battery capacity could also increase significantly, with the Galaxy Z Fold 8 rumoured to pack a 5,000mAh battery instead of the 4,400mAh unit used in the current model. The device is also expected to support 45W wired charging improving over the 25W charging support available on the Galaxy Z Fold 7.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold Wide Details Surface Online

The leak also sheds light on a second foldable model reportedly called the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold Wide. The device is said to feature a 7.6-inch foldable display with a 4:3 aspect ratio and a wider form factor inspired by the Huawei Pura X.

The Galaxy Z Fold Wide could weigh around 200g and may include two 50-megapixel rear cameras consisting of a primary sensor and an ultra-wide shooter. However, the device is not expected to include a telephoto camera.

The handset is tipped to house a 4,800mAh battery with support for 45W wired charging. Earlier leaks have also suggested the foldable may launch in a Dark Green colour option.

Samsung is still expected to introduce the new foldable lineup around late July possibly during an Unpacked event in London. If current rumours prove accurate, the base Galaxy Z Fold 8 could continue to start near the familiar $1,999 price point, while higher storage variants may move further into ultra-premium territory. The Galaxy Z Flip 8 series could also receive smaller price increases depending on storage configuration.

FAQs

Q1. Will the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Z Flip 8 be more expensive?

Answer. Yes, while base models may retain current pricing, 512GB and 1TB variants are expected to see price hikes due to rising chipset and memory costs.

Q2. Will the Galaxy Z Fold 8 support the S Pen or Privacy Display?

Answer. Leaks suggest both features will be omitted, as Samsung prioritizes a thinner design and cost control over adding these technologies.

Q3. What are the key leaked specifications of the Galaxy Z Fold 8?

Answer. It may feature an 8-inch foldable display, Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, 200MP main + 50MP ultrawide cameras, and a 5,000mAh battery with 45W charging.

iPhone 18, iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max Clear Cases Leak Early, Screen Protectors Hint At Bigger Camera Bump and Taller Displays

0

Highlights

  • Clear cases and screen protectors for the iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max surfaced online hinting at design continuity with bigger camera bumps.
  • Pro models may feature a variable aperture main camera, larger sensor, smaller Dynamic Island, and taller display aspect ratio compared to iPhone 17 Pro.
  • The iPhone 18 Pro lineup is expected in September 2026 with the A20 Pro chip (2nm), while the standard iPhone 18 and iPhone Air may debut in spring 2027.0

Months ahead of Apple’s official announcement, the first physical accessories believed to belong to the upcoming iPhone 18, iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max have appeared online. The leaked clear cases and screen protectors offer an early glimpse at the possible design direction of Apple’s 2026 flagship smartphones.

iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max Clear Cases

Thanks to well-known Apple leaker MajinBu, we now have the first glimpse of third-party clear cases for the 6.3-inch iPhone 18 Pro and 6.9-inch iPhone 18 Pro Max. These early images suggest that Apple may continue with the same overall design language introduced with the current Pro lineup.

Images of the cases reveal the large camera island cutout occupying much of the upper rear section. The design indicates that while Apple could make internal camera upgrades, the external camera module footprint is likely to remain similar to the current generation.

Rumours indicate that the iPhone 18 Pro series may introduce Apple’s first variable aperture main camera. The upgraded setup is also expected to include a larger 1/1.12-inch sensor and a 48-megapixel primary camera. Although the leaked cases cannot confirm hardware details directly, previous reports have pointed to a thicker camera bump compared to the iPhone 17 Pro models likely due to the new lens system.

As a result, even though the cases appear visually similar to current-generation accessories, compatibility between the two generations may not be possible.

Vanilla iPhone 18 Clear Case Also Surfaces

The same tipster who shared the Pro model cases also posted another image showing protective cases for the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and the standard iPhone 18.

The appearance of the regular iPhone 18 case is somewhat surprising because reports suggest that Apple plans to launch the vanilla iPhone 18 in spring 2027 under its revised release schedule. So far, there have been no leaked renders or design mockups for the standard iPhone 18 unlike the Pro models.

Leaked iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max Screen Protectors

In addition to the cases, leaked screen protectors believed to belong to the iPhone 18 Pro series have also surfaced online.

One of the most noticeable details is the smaller selfie camera cutout supporting earlier reports that Apple may reduce the size of the Dynamic Island by around 25 to 35 percent. The smaller opening in the protective glass is believed to accommodate the front-facing camera.

Another notable detail is the possibility of a slightly taller and narrower aspect ratio compared to the iPhone 17 Pro lineup.

This design change has not been widely mentioned in previous leaks but if accurate, it could mark a subtle shift in Apple’s display design approach for the next-generation Pro models.

Possible iPhone 18 Pro Colour Options Hinted At

The leaker, separately, also posted an image that appears to hint at the colour options for the upcoming iPhone lineup.

Last month, a report citing sources connected to Apple’s supply chain claimed that the iPhone 18 Pro could launch in four new finishes such as Silver, Light Blue, Dark Cherry, and Dark Grey. The rumoured Dark Cherry option may replace the Cosmic Orange colour seen in previous rumours.

iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max – What To Expect?

Leaks and rumours suggest the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max may arrive with Apple’s next-generation A20 Pro chipset, which is expected to be manufactured using TSMC’s advanced 2nm process. The new chip could reportedly deliver around a 15 percent performance improvement.

The devices are also tipped to feature a smaller Dynamic Island, upgraded camera hardware with a variable aperture main lens and a larger sensor, along with iOS 27 powered by Apple Intelligence and the revamped Siri experience.

As for colour options, rumours suggest Apple is specifically testing some Pantone codes for the colours next iPhone lineup. These could be Light Blue (Pantone 2121) resembling the current iPhone 17’s Mist Blue, most speculated Dark Cherry (Pantone 6076), Dark Gray (Pantone 426C) and Silver (Pantone 427C) that could be similar to the current generation silver version.

Apple is currently expected to unveil the iPhone 18 Pro lineup in September 2026. Reports also suggest that Apple’s foldable iPhone Ultra could debut alongside the Pro models as a “one more thing” announcement. Meanwhile, the standard iPhone 18 and the next-generation iPhone Air models are expected to launch in spring 2027.

Oppo Find X10 Pro Max Could Be Delayed or Cancelled, Find X10 Ultra Camera Details Leak Online

0

Highlights

  • Oppo may delay or even cancel the Find X10 Pro Max despite earlier rumours.
  • The Find X10 Ultra prototype is being tested with a 3x periscope telephoto camera with Oppo evaluating 200MP sensors (1/1.2-inch or 1/1.28-inch).
  • The Find X10 series is expected to feature next-gen MediaTek Dimensity 9600 Pro (2nm) and other Dimensity chipsets with display options up to 6.89-inch 2K LTPO.

Oppo is reportedly revising its plans for the upcoming Find X10 smartphone lineup. Earlier rumours suggested that the series would include the Find X10, Find X10 Pro and Find X10 Pro Max models.

However, a new leak from tipster Digital Chat Station now claims that the company could delay the Find X10 Pro Max with the possibility of the device being cancelled after all. Here’s what we know about both phones so far.

Oppo Find X10 Ultra

Reliable tipster Digital Chat Station has shared fresh details about the alleged Oppo Find X10 Ultra. According to the leak, the engineering prototype of the smartphone is currently being tested with a 3x periscope telephoto camera.

DCS on Weibo. (Screenshot by Gizmochina)
DCS on Weibo. (Screenshot by Gizmochina)

The report further states that Oppo is evaluating two different sensor options for the periscope camera. The company is reportedly considering either a 200-megapixel 1/1.2-inch sensor or a 200-megapixel 1/1.28-inch sensor for the setup.

On paper, the larger 1/1.2-inch sensor is expected to deliver better camera performance because bigger sensors generally capture more light. This could help improve low-light photography, background separation, and overall image quality. However, the 1/1.28-inch sensor is also quite large, and the final image output may ultimately depend on Oppo’s software tuning, lens quality, and image processing capabilities.

The same tipster had previously claimed that Oppo is also testing a 200-megapixel 1/1.12-inch primary camera sensor with LOFIC support for the Find X10 series.

Oppo Find X10 Pro Max – Rumoured Specs

While the future of the Find X10 Pro Max remains uncertain, earlier rumours had already revealed several possible specifications for the device. The smartphone was tipped to feature a 200-megapixel main camera using a 1/1.3-inch sensor along with a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto camera based on a 1/1.28-inch sensor.

Reports had also suggested that the ultra-wide camera could either use a 200-megapixel 1/1.56-inch sensor or a smaller 50-megapixel sensor.

Display testing for the device was also reportedly underway with two possible panel options under consideration. Oppo was said to be evaluating a 6.89-inch 2K LTPO flat display and a slightly smaller 6.78-inch 1.5K LTPO display.

As for SoCs, the Find X10 series is expected to be powered by next-generation MediaTek chipsets. The lineup could include the rumoured Dimensity 9600 Pro processor built on a 2nm process, while other models in the series may feature the Dimensity 9600 and Dimensity 9500 Plus chipsets.

FAQs

Q1. What is the status of the Oppo Find X10 Pro Max?

Q2. What camera setup is being tested on the Oppo Find X10 Ultra?
