Apple has expanded its wearable lineup with the launch of the Apple Watch Series 12 and Apple Watch Ultra 4. Both models run watchOS 27 and come with improved health sensing, more detailed strength workout tracking and upgraded optical sensors. The Apple Watch Series 12 also brings back a ceramic case option, while the Apple Watch Ultra 4 focuses on improved battery life for longer outdoor use. Alongside the new watches, Apple has also announced the AirPods 5.
Apple Watch Series 12 and Apple Watch Ultra 4 – Price and Availability in India
The Apple Watch Series 12 starts at $399, which is roughly Rs. 37,956, while the Apple Watch Ultra 4 starts at $799, or around Rs. 76,000. Pre-orders for both models begin today, with sales starting September 18, 2026.
In India, the Apple Watch Series 12 has a starting price of Rs. 56,900. The Apple Watch Ultra 4 starts at Rs. 1,09,900.
The Apple Watch Series 12 comes in 42mm and 46mm sizes and offers aluminium, titanium and ceramic case options. The aluminium versions are available in dark bronze, black, light gold and space grey. The titanium models come in radiant gold and natural titanium, while the newly introduced ceramic case is offered in pearl white and night blue.
The Apple Watch Ultra 4 is available in natural titanium and black titanium finishes. Apple has also added new colour choices for its Trail Loop, Alpine Loop and Ocean Band straps. The Ocean Band now uses translucent silicone and comes in translucent grey, kelp and black.
Apple Watch Series 12 – Key Features
The Apple Watch Series 12 introduces Apple’s new Health Sensing System, which combines new optical and electrical heart sensors. According to Apple, its optical heart sensor uses larger and more power-efficient green LEDs and checks heart rate every five seconds throughout the day. The watch can also measure heart rate variability, or HRV, up to 24 times more frequently than the previous model. Apple has added two types of HRV readings: Recovery HRV and overall HRV.
One of the key new additions is the Readiness feature. It looks at recent activity, training load, vital signs and sleep data to generate a daily score between 0 and 10. Based on the score, the watch provides one of four recommendations, Recover, Pace Yourself, Ready, or Go For It.
Apple claims the Watch Series 12 can last up to 24 hours with everyday use, representing a 25 percent improvement over the previous generation. A 15-minute charge can provide up to 12 additional hours of battery life, according to the company.
The smartwatch also brings Siri AI through watchOS 27. Apple has introduced a dedicated Siri app and a Siri Modular watch face, allowing users to continue conversations and access Apple Intelligence features directly from their wrist.
Under the hood, the Apple Watch Series 12 is powered by Apple’s new S11 chipset. The chip also enables new Audio Intelligence features including Sound Recognition, Live Rewind, Siri Recap and Shazam integration.
Apple Watch Ultra 4 – Key Features
The Apple Watch Ultra 4 is Apple’s latest rugged smartwatch, designed with longer endurance in mind. It gets the same Health Sensing System and S11 chipset as the Watch Series 12 along with the new Readiness feature that combines activity, training load, vitals and sleep information into a score from 0 to 10.
However, the Ultra 4 is designed more specifically for extended outdoor activities, with a focus on longer battery life. Apple says it can provide up to 50 hours of battery life during everyday use and up to 84 hours when Low Power Mode is enabled. A 15-minute charge can provide up to 18 hours of battery life.
Apple has also redesigned the pedometer model and introduced new machine learning algorithms on the Watch Ultra 4. These improvements are claimed to deliver better distance measurements during indoor workouts and more accurate step counting throughout the day.
AirPods 5 Also Launched
Apple has also introduced the AirPods 5, bringing Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) to its entry-level wireless earbuds. The new AirPods start at $129.
Apple claims the AirPods 5 can block up to 50 percent more external noise than the AirPods 4 with Active Noise Cancellation. They feature redesigned acoustic architecture and an updated Adaptive EQ system, which are designed to provide richer and more detailed sound. Transparency mode has also been improved to make nearby voices and other sounds feel more natural.

Both AirPods 5 models support Adaptive Audio, which automatically combines Noise Cancellation and Transparency mode depending on the surroundings. Conversation Awareness can also lower the playback volume when the user starts speaking.
The earbuds support Live Translation when paired with a compatible iPhone that has Apple Intelligence enabled.
Apple is also offering a $149 version of the AirPods 5 that comes with a Wireless Charging Case. This model adds swipe-based volume controls on the earbud stems and offers longer battery life.
Apple says the version can provide up to five hours of listening time with Active Noise Cancellation enabled, or up to 22 hours when used with the charging case. The case supports Apple Watch and Qi wireless chargers in addition to USB-C charging.
The AirPods 5 are available to pre-order starting today with the sale set to begin on September 18.
