OnePlus has started revealing more details about the upcoming OnePlus 16 ahead of its expected October launch in China. The brand recently shared official images, colour options and memory configurations of the flagship smartphone. Now, OnePlus China President Li Jie Louis has revealed more details about its design and display. Meanwhile, the latest official renders of one of the colour variants give a closer look at the upcoming flagship smartphone.
OnePlus 16 Gets 1.15mm Ultra-Narrow Bezels
According to the latest teasers shared on official OnePlus Weibo, the OnePlus 16 will feature 1.15mm ultra-thin bezels on all four sides of the display. OnePlus says the narrow bezels are designed to provide a more immersive viewing experience.
The phone will also use a flat display, while the company is focusing on flagship-level design and ergonomics. The large R-angle corner design is intended to make the phone more comfortable to hold and improve grip during everyday use.
The OnePlus 16 will feature a metal frame, giving the flagship a more premium feel. The camera module will also get a new look with a metal camera deco featuring a Magic Cube-inspired design.
OnePlus 16 – Custom Shortcut Key With 9 Functions
Another major feature revealed by OnePlus is the new customisable shortcut key, which can be assigned to nine different functions.
Users will be able to set the key to perform frequently used actions such as muting the phone, turning on the flashlight or starting a recording. These functions can then be accessed with a single press.
According to OnePlus, the shortcut key is designed to reduce the number of steps needed for commonly used functions. It could also make these actions easier to perform when using the phone with one hand.

OnePlus has also shared official renders of the Mars Masterpiece colour variant of the OnePlus 16. The new renders provide a closer look at the smartphone from different angles.
The Mars Masterpiece variant features a prominent orange finish, giving the upcoming flagship a distinctive look. The renders also offer a better view of its flat display, narrow bezels, metal frame and Magic Cube-inspired camera deco.
