Krafton rolls out 1.7.0 for Battlegrounds Mobile India

Krafton Inc., the South Korean video game developer, is all set to thrill millions of Battlegrounds enthusiasts in India, with the introduction of Mirror World, special features, and all new gameplay mechanics in version 1.7 rolling out on the Google Play Store and iOS App Store.

The “Mirror World Theme” is available in Erangel, Livik and Sanhok starting from November 19, 2021. The Mirror Island appears in the sky after some time passes after entering the maps and players can enter the mode by using the Wind Wall on the ground. When entering the mode, the player’s character transforms into one of four legends—Jinx, Vi, Jayce and Caitlyn—of League of Legends and Arcane. The player can kill a monster on the Mirror Island with the Arcane character’s weapons and skills. Players can get “Hextech Crystals” as a reward if they kill a monster and exchange the shards with various battle items. Once the character is dead or playtime on the Mirror Island ends, players can return to the normal battlegrounds.

The latest update will bundle in a lot of surprises scheduled to roll out later in the month, as the Classic Mode will bring new piggyback features and weapon-related changes to the game. The piggyback feature will allow the players to pick up a downed teammate or enemy. While carrying, the player’s movement is slowed, and one cannot use items or ride a vehicle. The carried player’s HP decreases during the carry. Also, with the all-new grenade indicator, the exact location of the grenade can be judged by the indicator. The updated weapon balance will affect SLR, SKS, mini14, VSS, and DP28.

New Events and Collaborations

The 1.7 update also introduces various events starting today with Mirror World events where players can get Arcane characters, Arcane emotes and items and all the way till the holiday season, with some fantastic collaborations on the way for fans.

The biggest one hitting the game is a collaboration with global footballing giant, Liverpool FC, with a host of events featuring The Reds in the Event sections like You’ll Never Walk Alone, with amazing rewards such as the Liverpool FC parachute, the Liverpool FC backpack and even the much-coveted Liverpool FC jersey.

Messaging platform Telegram is launching Sponsored Messages, a tool that will allow anyone to promote their channels and bots.

Here is what you should know:

  1. There will be no ads in chats on Telegram. If you use Telegram as the messenger that we launched in 2013 – you will never see a sponsored message. It can’t appear in your chat list, private chats or groups.
  2. User data will not be used to target ads. As with everything we do, our main priority is protecting the private data of our users. That’s why unlike other apps we will not use your private data to display ads.

Sponsored messages on Telegram are shown only in large public one-to-many channels with 1000+ members – and are based solely on the topic of the public channels in which they are shown. This means that no user data is mined or analyzed to display them.

  1. We are fixing ads that are already here. Some admins of one-to-many channels on Telegram already post ads in the form of regular messages. We hope that Sponsored Messages will offer a more user-friendly and less chaotic way for people to promote their channels and bots.

Sponsored messages are currently in test mode and are not available to everyone. Sponsored messages can only appear in channels, which are a unique social networking feature Telegram added several years after launch. If WhatsApp introduces a similar feature, they are likely to also display ads there, like their parent company already does on Instagram and Facebook.

Online ads should no longer be synonymous with the abuse of user privacy. We’d like to redefine how a tech company should operate by setting an example of a self-sustainable platform that respects its users and content creators.

Airtel announces revised mobile tariffs

Bharti Airtel has always maintained that the mobile Average Revenue Per User (ARPU) needs to be at Rs 200 and ultimately at Rs 300, so as to provide a reasonable return on capital that allows for a financially healthy business model.

Telegram is launching ‘Sponsored Messages’ tool

Telegram announced that it is launching Sponsored Messages that will allow anyone to promote their channel or bot. As encrypted messaging app explains, users will only see sponsored messages (read advertisements) in public channels that have more than 1,000 subscribers. These promotional messages will have a 160 character limit and will be related to the topic of the channel in which they are shown. The company, in a statement said, Sponsored Messages are currently in test mode and are not available to everyone.

Instagram adds two new features to its platform

Instagram has come up with two new features to its platform. The Meta-owned photo sharing app has launched “Rage Shake” feature that will let users report a problem by just shaking the phone. It will now have an option of deleting individual images from a carousel after it has been uploaded. The development was announced by Instagram head Adam Msseri in a video that he posted on his Twitter handle. In the video, he said that users will be able to quickly inform the company about any problems they may face on the app.
