Oppo is gearing up to expand its mid-range smartphone lineup with the upcoming Oppo F31 series. It is expected to launch in India next month and the lineup include three models. We are expecting Oppo F31, Oppo F31 Pro and Oppo F31 Pro+, each featuring unique designs and hardware choices. Here’s what we know about the phones based on recent leaks.

Oppo F31 Series – Design and Specifications (Leaked)

Tipster Abhishek Yadav @yabhishekhd on X (formerly Twitter) shared leaked renders and specifications of the F31 models, giving the first glimpse of the upcoming lineup. Interestingly, despite being part of the same series, each model brings a different styling approach.

According to the leak, Oppo F31 Pro+ features a flat display with a circular rear camera module, powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset, paired with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage.

Oppo F31 Pro, on the other hand, sports a squircle-shaped camera island and is said to run on the MediaTek Dimensity 7300, likely the “Energy” variant. All three models are rumoured to house 7,000mAh batteries, marking a significant upgrade over the 6,500mAh battery on the F29 and the 6,000mAh unit on the F29 Pro. Charging speeds also see a bump, with the F31 and F31 Pro tipped to support 80W fast charging. While charging details for the Pro+ are not yet confirmed, Oppo could push it even higher, in line with its past flagship launches.

In terms of colour options, the leak specifies the following option –

  • F31 Pro+ – White, Pink, Blue
  • F31 Pro – Gold, Black
  • F31 – Red, Purple, Blue

Reports suggest that the Oppo F31 series will launch in mid-September, just ahead of India’s festive season.

Vivo T4 Pro 5G – Unboxing

Vivo T4 Pro 5G – First Impression

Vivo T4 Pro 5G – First Impression

Unbox the Vivo T4 Pro 5G and you instantly notice similarities to another recent Vivo phone. It has a slim and lightweight profile with curved edges and rounded corners. It feels elegant with a smooth glass-like back finish. At the back, the pill-shaped camera module with dual sensors and a separate periscope lens is neatly arranged. It looks modern without being too bulky.

On the front, the 6.77-inch quad-curved display with ultra-slim bezels dominates, promising an immersive experience. The 120Hz refresh rate and HDR10+ support make colours pop with good brightness levels.

The Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset paired with up to 12GB RAM suggests solid performance. The camera system is also quite well-rounded and has everything for every type of photography lover. And then there is the 6500mAh battery with 90W charging hints at serious endurance.

Vivo T4 Pro 5G – Design and Build

Vivo T4 Pro 5G – Design and Build

The Vivo T4 Pro 5G has an elegant aesthetic and a design that feels premium instantly and is yet comfortable in the hand. The phone’s form makes it appear quite slim in hand and despite housing a heavy battery inside, it is quite lightweight. The smooth and curved edges with rounded corners make it easy to grip even during long usage.

The phone we had for this review was the Blaze Gold colour variant. It comes in a subtle golden shade that blends beautifully with the copper colour embellishments. The back has a smooth, glass-like finish that not only looks glossy but also resists smudges and fingerprints. For the time we used the phone, the phone didn’t seem to be prone to dust either. This simply means you don’t have to keep wiping it down after every use, which usually happens with many mid-range phones.

At the back, you get a pill-shaped camera module that’s neatly designed and doesn’t protrude much. It holds two cameras, while a third camera and a ring-shaped Aura Light sit alongside it. The layout is clean and resembles what we saw recently on the Vivo V60, giving it a familiar yet stylish vibe.

It has a polycarbonate build but even then feels solid and durable. Vivo has received both IP68 and IP69 certifications for the phone to ensure dust and water resistance. It also has corrosion-resistant ports that keep the phone protected even with heavy use.

Overall, the phone has a refined look without going overboard. It will obviously remind you of previous Vivo phones and that may or may not be a good thing.

Vivo T4 Pro 5G – Display

Vivo T4 Pro 5G – Display

The Vivo T4 Pro 5G display is good and complements the overall design. It sports a 6.77-inch flagship-grade quad-curved display that looks immersive. The bezels are quite narrow and the small punch-hole cutout add to that edge-to-edge experience. The slight curves on all sides make the visuals spill right to the edges. Altogether, the display design makes everything from watching videos to scrolling through social feeds feel good from every angle.

With a 120Hz refresh rate, the display feels incredibly smooth. Whether we swipe through apps, gaming, or just browsing, the responsiveness of the phone feels fast and fluid.

Brightness is another highlight feature that comes with the panel. With 1500 nits global peak brightness and a staggering 5000 nits local peak, outdoor visibility is excellent. Even under direct sunlight, the screen remains clear and easy to read. The 2392 × 1080 resolution, P3 wide colour gamut and 8,000,000:1 contrast ratio add all extra features to keep the display sharp and vibrant.

It shows vibrant colours, deep blacks and a level of clarity that makes movies and games pop. There is also the HDR10+ certification and supported content looks rich with enhanced contrast and details. For everyday use, the SGS Low Blue Light certification helps reduce eye strain, so you can binge-watch or game for longer without discomfort.

There is no prominent display protection feature, which is a downer. Vivo’s New Diamond Shield Glass promises to make the screen tougher and more resistant to accidental drops. But since there is no Gorilla Glass protection, we recommend using a reliable screen protector at all times.

The stereo speakers get extremely loud for media and gaming. So, in terms of streaming and experiences, this display gets you covered.

Vivo T4 Pro 5G – Performance

Vivo T4 Pro 5G – Performance

The Vivo T4 Pro 5G runs on the octa-core Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset processor built on a power-efficient 4nm process. The processor performance is extraordinarily good. It delivers the right balance of speed and efficiency with a clock speed that peaks at 2.8 GHz. The phone feels fast and responsive in everyday use. We extensively used it while juggling multiple apps, editing photos or even long gaming sessions and it handles tasks with ease.

We had the 12GB LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage model for this review.  The storage isn’t expandable and it could be a limitation for some users. However, for an average user, 256GB should be enough. There’s an extra 12GB of expandable virtual RAM available, which helps keep things smooth when during multitasking heavily or playing powerful games.

Speaking of gaming, the phone is positioned for gamers. Popular titles like MLBB support native high frame rate modes at 90Hz and offer smoother visuals with more immersive gameplay experience. You can feel the swipe and tap registers instantly, thanks to the ultra-high touch sampling rate with latency as low as 57ms. We didn’t notice any visible lags or stutters even during intense gaming sessions.

The phone does get a little warm during long gaming sessions or multitasking. However, thermal management of the device is decent. The T4 Pro 5G has a massive 16,470 mm² heat dissipation area along with 10 temperature sensors that actively monitor and adjust the phone’s heat output. This system can bring down core temperatures by as much as 12°C. Other than that, there is a 3,750 mm² VC cooling chamber.

We also tested the phone on all major benchmarking platforms including Geekbench and AnTuTu. The performance was stable throughout and it scored over 1 million on AnTuTu. Here are other benchmark results –

On the software side, you get Funtouch OS 15 based on Android 15 out of the box. The UI feels polished and snappy. But you get a bunch of pre-installed apps and it will take a lot of time to get rid of the unwanted stuff initially.

Vivo is also promising 4 major OS updates and 6 years of security patches, which makes the T4 Pro 5G a reliable long-term pick.

Vivo T4 Pro 5G – Camera Performance

Vivo T4 Pro 5G – Camera Performance

T4 Pro 5G camera setup is versatile and can be a good companion for photography lovers. You get a 50MP Sony IMX882 OIS main camera with a wide f/1.79 aperture on the rear. And adding to the versatility is a 50MP Sony IMX882 periscope telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom and a 2MP bokeh sensor.

It does a great job of pulling in light for crisp and bright shots. Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS) for the main sensor helps keep shots steady while also reducing blur when you’re shooting handheld. The telephoto lens allows you to capture faraway subjects with good clarity. The 2MP bokeh lens comes in for portraits and captures smooth background blur while keeping the subject sharply in focus.

The photos come out sharp with natural colour tones, good dynamic range and a good level of detail. The phone smoothes out the images after clicking to produce social media-ready photos. Low-light shots could have been better. We also noticed a tad delay in capturing the shot, which means there is a chance you may miss capturing the exact moment sometimes.

On the front, the phone sports a 32MP selfie camera with an f/2.45 aperture. It gives clean, well-lit selfies and handles skin tones nicely.

Vivo has also included plenty of shooting modes to explore. On the rear camera, you’ll find options like Night, Portrait, High Resolution, Pro mode, Supermoon, Food mode, and even Underwater Photography. The front camera supports modes like Portrait, Dual View, and Video, so you can experiment with different looks whether you’re vlogging or snapping quick selfies.

When it comes to video, both the front and rear cameras can record in 4K, 1080p, and 720p, giving you flexibility depending on what you need. You easily get high-resolution clips for editing or lighter files for easy sharing. There is an added rear flash and fill light support that helps with shooting videos in tricky lighting and makes it all much more manageable.

Vivo T4 Pro 5G – Battery and Charging

Vivo T4 Pro 5G – Battery and Charging

Battery life is one of the best features of T4 Pro. It packs a 6500mAh BlueVolt battery that uses 3rd-gen Silicon Carbon Anode technology. This tech is believed to be more efficient and longer-lasting than standard lithium setups. The phone easily gets through heavy workloads of a full day including streaming, gaming, photography and doomscrolling. With moderate use, you can even stretch it to two full days of power.

The phone supports 90W FlashCharge. We tested the charging speed and it managed to go from under 10% to over 80% in about 40 minutes. That means a quick top-up while you get ready in the morning is more than enough to keep you going for the day. The bypass charging is a helpful feature for battery health and long life.

Speaking of long life, Vivo claims the T4 Pro 5G is rated for up to 1300 charging cycles. This means it should hold up well even after years of daily charging.

Verdict – Should You Buy Vivo T4 Pro 5G?

Verdict – Should You Buy Vivo T4 Pro 5G?

The Vivo T4 Pro 5G feels like a well-rounded in every sense. It has a premium-looking design, an impressive quad-curved display, a powerful Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chip and a massive battery support. The 6500mAh battery with 90W fast charging is surely one of the best battery systems in the segment. The phone basically checks all the right boxes for both casual users and multitaskers. The versatile triple rear camera system with periscope zoom makes it a strong companion for photography lovers as well. There are obviously some shortcomings, but it definitely has more good to weigh on a scale of good versus the bad.

Apple’s partner Foxconn has officially started production of the upcoming iPhone 17 series at its new plant in Bengaluru, Karnataka. The update was shared by Karnataka Industries Minister MB Patil on X (formerly Twitter), underscoring the city’s rising importance in Apple’s supply chain.

The facility in Devanahalli, Foxconn’s second-largest unit outside China, has been established with a massive $2.8 billion (₹25,000 crore) investment. Together with Foxconn’s existing unit in Chennai, the new Bengaluru plant is expected to play a critical role in Apple’s manufacturing ecosystem in India.

“Delighted to share that Foxconn has commenced production of the latest iPhone 17 at its new facility in Devanahalli, Bengaluru — now the largest Foxconn unit outside China. With an investment of ₹25,000 crore, this advanced plant will generate thousands of jobs, strengthen supply chains, and boost India’s export ambitions. This milestone marks Karnataka’s rise as a global hub for electronics manufacturing, with Bengaluru powering Apple’s growth in India and positioning our state as a key player in the world’s technology and manufacturing future,” Patil stated.

Initial Roadblock in iPhone 17 Production

According to a recent ToI report, the production process had faced a temporary setback earlier this year when hundreds of Chinese engineers unexpectedly returned home.

Foxconn, however, swiftly filled the expertise gap by bringing in specialists from Taiwan and other regions, ensuring that production schedules remained on track.

Apple’s China-Plus Strategy in Action

For the first time ever, Apple is preparing to manufacture all iPhone 17 models including the high-end Pro versions in India right from launch. This is seen as a pivotal move in Apple’s broader China-plus strategy, aimed at reducing dependence on Chinese production while also safeguarding against potential U.S. tariffs.

Industry insiders reveal that Apple has distributed iPhone 17 production across five Indian factories, with two of them having just begun operations. While Pro model production will initially be on a smaller scale, the overall strategy marks a major shift in Apple’s supply chain.

In addition to Foxconn’s new Bengaluru hub, the Tata Group’s new plant in Hosur, Tamil Nadu, has become a vital partner. Tata is rapidly emerging as one of Apple’s most crucial collaborators and is expected to handle nearly half of India’s iPhone output within the next two years.

Record-Breaking iPhone Exports from India

Apple’s India push is already paying dividends. Between April and July 2025, India exported $7.5 billion worth of iPhones, almost half of the $17 billion shipped during the entire previous fiscal year.

In the last financial year, Apple assembled $22 billion worth of iPhones in India, marking a 60% year-on-year growth. For 2025, the company is projected to scale up to 60 million iPhones, compared to 35–40 million units in 2024–25.

During Apple’s recent earnings call, CEO Tim Cook stressed India’s growing role in the company’s global strategy. He revealed that a majority of iPhones sold in the U.S. in June 2025 were manufactured in India.

FAQs

Q1. Where is Foxconn manufacturing the iPhone 17 in India?

Answer. Foxconn has begun production of the iPhone 17 series at its new $2.8 billion facility in Devanahalli, Bengaluru, now its largest unit outside China. This plant complements its existing unit in Chennai and is central to Apple’s India manufacturing strategy.

Q2. Is Apple producing the iPhone 17 Pro models in India too?

Answer. Yes, for the first time, Apple is manufacturing all iPhone 17 variants including the high-end Pro models in India from launch. This marks a major shift in Apple’s China-plus strategy to diversify its supply chain and reduce reliance on Chinese production.

Q3. How significant is India’s role in Apple’s global iPhone supply?

Answer. India exported $7.5 billion worth of iPhones between April and July 2025, nearly half of the previous fiscal year’s total. Apple assembled $22 billion worth of iPhones in India last year and aims to scale up to 60 million units in 2025. Tim Cook confirmed that most iPhones sold in the U.S. in June 2025 were made in India.
