VLC Media Player on Windows

Check the File Format

If you are facing any issue with any media player, the first thing to check is the file format.

And even though the VLC Media Player supports most types of file formats, there could be a rare chance that you are trying to play an unsupported media file. In such cases, you may experience lags.

If case the file format is unsupported, you can convert the file format into a supported format to be able to play it using the VLC media player.

Change Cache Value

When VLC is used to stream internet videos, the software caches some of the content in order to facilitate faster playback. If the VLC media player in your system is creating video lag issues when you are streaming, try to increase the network and file cache sizes. In ideal circumstances, this should fix the video lagging. Follow the below-mentioned steps –

  • Launch the VLC media player on your laptop or PC.
  • Click the Tools menu at the top and select Preferences from the list.
  • Select the All option under the Show settings section.
  • Select Input / Codecs from the left pane column.
  • Under the Advanced section, increase the value in the File caching (ms) field.
  • Similarly, increase the value for the Network caching (ms) as well.
  • Click the Save button.

Reset the VLC Preferences

There are a lot of settings and options or preferences in the VLC software that can change the way it functions. Even a minor problem in one of the settings and options can cause issues with the media player. Sometimes it is not possible to check all the settings to find out where is problem and in such cases resetting the VLC preferences can actually be a lifesaver. It is easier and you can restart your software without any further issues.

Follow the below-mentioned step to reset the VLC preferences –

  • Launch the VLC media player on your PC.
  • Click the Tools menu at the top and select Preferences from the list.
  • In the Interface tab, click the Reset Preferences button at the bottom.

  • Click OK when the Are you sure you want to reset your VLC media player preferences dialog appears.
  • Restart the VLC media player.

Disable In-Loop Deblocking

If you are constantly facing video lagging in VLC, disabling the in-loop deblocking filter on the software can also solve this nagging issue. Below are the steps to follow –

  • Open the VLC app and click on the Tools menu at the top.
  • Select Preferences. (Alternatively, Press Ctrl + P as a short cut to launch the VLC Preferences window.)
  • Switch to the Input / Codes tab.

  • Click the drop-down menu next to Skip H.264 in-loop deblocking filter and select All.

Try High-Performance Power Setting on Windows

Windows’ strict power profile settings sometimes create many apps and software to run smoothly. The VLC media player too can sometimes face issues due to this power setting. You can try changing the power setting to high performance on windows to avoid this problem when playing certain files on VLC.

Follow the below steps to change the power setting of your Windows laptop or computer

  • Press Win + R to launch the Run dialog box on your Windows system
  • Type control in the Open field and press Enter. This will open the Control Panel window.
  • Click the drop-down menu in the top right corner to change the view type to Small icons or Large icons.
  • Click on Power Options to open that applet.
  • Select High performance.

This will change the system power setting to High Performance, which will solve any video player lagging issues.

Disable Hardware Acceleration

VLC Media player uses the hardware acceleration feature to accelerate decoding for smooth video playback. Whenever there is a problem with this feature, the player shuts the video file without any prompt. In case you are facing a similar issue with the media player, you can try disabling the hardware acceleration feature. If that is causing the issue, disabling the feature should certainly solve the problem.

Here’s how you can disable the hardware acceleration feature

  • Open VLC media player.
  • Click on Tools and select Preferences from the resulting menu.
  • Select the Input / Codes tab at the top.
  • Use the drop-down menu next to Hardware-accelerated decoding to select Disable.

  • Click on Save.
  • Restart the VLC app

This should play the video smoothly.

Update/Reinstall VLC Media Player

If above mentioned all tricks don’t solve the video lagging issue on your VLC media player, then maybe it’s time to go for updating or reinstalling the software. Every software needs timely updates and there are times when the problem simply lies in the version of software you are using.

First of all check for updates and if available, download them to keep the software up-to-date. Here’s how you can check available software updates –

  • Open the VLC media player on Windows.
  • Click the Help menu at the top and select Check for Updates

If updates are available, simply follow the on-screen instruction to download and install them.

In case even updating the software doesn’t solve the issue, then it is time to get to the uninstall and reinstall process as the last resort. Follow the below-mentioned steps to uninstall and reinstall the VLC media player on your laptop or PC

  • Open the Start menu and click the gear-shaped icon to launch the Settings app.
  • Navigate to the Apps tab using the left sidebar.
  • Click on Installed apps.
  • Scroll through the list or use the search bar at the top to quickly locate the VLC media player on the list. Click the three-dot menu icon next to it and select Uninstall.
  • Select Uninstall once again to confirm.
  • Once removed, open Microsoft Store on your PC and search for the VLC app.
  • Then, click the Install button to download the app.

All these above-mentioned ways should solve any video lagging issues in the VLC Media Player software on your laptop or PC. In case the issue still persists, it could be a system hardware issue that an expert should take a look at. Please get your system hardware checked only through an authorised system expert.

Moto Edge 40 Pro renders leaked ahead of Global Launch:Reveals Design & First Look

0
Motorola Edge

HIGHLIGHTS

* Moto Edge 40 Pro renders have been leaked before launch.
* The design appears very similar to the Moto X40 in China.
* Moto had previously launched the Moto X30 as Edge 30 Pro globally.

Motorola has a penchant for making great budget Android phones and upper-midrange devices, but they seldom captivate public attention.
The Motorola Moto X40 was one such phone that flew under the radar when it made its China debut in December.
The phone’s launch is imminent in the international market, and a few leaked renders are now shaping our expectations.

The Moto X40 Pro could be re-badged as the Edge 40 Pro for the rest of the world, being Motorola’s first phone with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC.
Now, thanks to leaker Evan Blass on Twitter, we have our first look at the phone’s possible design.

Motorola may no longer be the market leader that it once was decades ago, but that has not stopped the brand from launching a range of interesting devices in the smartphone space. Case in point — at the recently concluded Mobile World Congress 2023, Moto showcased a rollable smartphone concept, resembling its Rizr range of sliding mobile phones from decades ago. Alongside such bold experiments, the brand also launches regular devices, and the latest of the bunch is expected to be Moto Edge 40 Pro.

Moto Edge 40 Pro: what we know so far

Motorola Edge 40 Pro

According to a report by Android Police, citing renders published online on Twitter by noted tipster Evan Blass, the Moto Edge 40 Pro is expected to launch in global markets soon.
Ahead of this launch, Blass shared a host of renders of the smartphone on Twitter, showcasing its full design including the rear camera module.

The design appears unchanged from the China-exclusive X40, with a curved display wrapping around the vertical edges, a triple-camera array in a square camera bump with “50MP” branding, and ridiculously thin bezels all around.
The Moto Edge 40 Pro could use its Chinese sibling’s 6.67-inch FHD+ OLED display with a smooth 165Hz refresh rate, IP68 water and dust resistance, and a USB-C port.

If the dimensions remain unchanged, the phone could measure 6.35 × 2.9 × 0.33 inches and weigh just 7.02 ounces.
A 4,600mAh battery should provide sufficient screen-on time and 125W wired fast charging should be standard, along with support for 15W wireless and reverse wireless charging.
The camera array should comprise a 50MP f/1.9 primary camera with OIS, another 50MP ultrawide, and a 12MP macro telephoto lens, with selfie duties handled by a 60MP front-facing camera.

While Blass or Android Police did not tip any specifications, if the X40 and Edge 40 Pro turn out to be the same, then we have a host of specifications at hand.
These include the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, up to 12GB RAM and 512GB storage, a 6.7-inch 165Hz full HD+ display, a 50MP + 50MP + 12MP triple rear camera setup with 2x optical zoom, Wi-Fi 6E and 5G connectivity, and a 4,600mAh battery with 125W fast charging.

In Motorola’s product lineup, the Edge 40 Pro should be marketed as a successor for the Edge 30 Pro, which made its way stateside as the Edge+ in 2022.
We hope to see this phone in the flesh sometime soon, but there’s no telling when that might be.

OnePlus Ace 2V Launch Today :Event Time,Live Streaming , Price , Design & Specifications

0

Highlights

* The OnePlus Ace 2V is set to make its China debut.
* The smartphone will be powered by MediaTek Dimensity 9000 SoC.
* The OnePlus Ace 2V will have up to 16GB of RAM.

OnePlus is gearing up to launch a new phone in its Ace series in China.
The upcoming offering is dubbed the OnePlus Ace 2V and it will debut in the country tomorrow. The brand has already revealed key details of the smartphone.

OnePlus is expected to launch a new smartphone in its home turf, China, today on March 7th.
Ahead of the launch, a host of OnePlus Ace 2V specifications have been tipped online, including a bunch of posters of the smartphone that have been posted on social media by the brand itself.

Given that the last OnePlus Ace 2 that was launched came to India as the OnePlus 11R, there is a strong possibility that the OnePlus Ace 2V will make its way to India as the brand’s next sub-premium range smartphone, or perhaps even as the OnePlus Nord 3, as rumours seem suggest.
Now, ahead of the launch, here’s looking at everything that we know so far about the smartphone, and what it is likely to offer users.

Read on to learn more details about the upcoming OnePlus product launch event.

OnePlus Ace 2V launch date, time how to watch live stream

The OnePlus Ace 2V smartphone is launching in China, so users outside of China will not have ready, direct access to the live stream of the launch the way we do for YouTube-streamed live launches globally.
However, OnePlus will be broadcasting the launch of the Ace 2V on its official Weibo handle.
The OnePlus Ace 2V launch is scheduled at 2:30PM China time, on March 7th.
Users in India will, therefore, be able to see the launch at 12PM IST.

OnePlus Ace 2V price

At the moment, there has been no word regarding the launch price of the upcoming OnePlus Ace 2V. Given its branding, it is clear that the smartphone will not be a direct successor to the Ace 2, but will line-up alongside the latter.
The Ace 2 went on sale in China last month, on February 13th, at CNY 2,799 (around Rs 33,100).

It is interesting to note that the Ace 2, which is rebranded to OnePlus 11R in India, sells onward of Rs 38,999 in the country.
Most reports have claimed that due to a key difference in the set of specifications, the Ace 2V could be a more affordable version of the Ace 2 series (possibly named differently outside of China).

OnePlus Ace 2V design

The key difference between the OnePlus Ace 2V and the already-launched Ace 2 appear to lie in design, and one key specification set.
Starting with the design, as per the official OnePlus teasers posted on Weibo, the Ace 2V appears to feature flat side edges, with an alert slider and the power button to the right. The volume rocker is to the left, and the display is flanked by uniform bezels.

The front camera drill-hole slot is placed at the centre, while apart from the edges, the biggest differentiating factor between the Ace 2 and 2V lie in the camera module. While the latter had an elaborate camera module at the rear, the Ace 2V appears to have functional ones — with two standalone cutouts for three rear cameras, and two LED flashes to the top-left corner.
The OnePlus Ace 2V is, however, tipped to feature similar ceramic and sandstone rear finishes that are similar to the OnePlus 11R (or Ace 2).

OnePlus Ace 2V specifications

In terms of recent specifications ,the key differentiator is expected to be the chipset onboard — the OnePlus Ace 2V is expected to run on the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 SoC. This is tipped to be paired with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X memory, and 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage. A 6.74-inch, 10-bit AMOLED display has been tipped with HDR10+ certification, and 2772 x 1240 pixels screen resolution that appears to be the same as the OnePlus Ace 2V.

While camera details are yet to be revealed, rumours expect it to feature at least a 50MP primary camera, similar to the Ace 2. The Ace 2V is also said to be powered by a 5,000mAh battery and 80W fast charging. More details are expected soon, once the OnePlus Ace 2V goes official.

Ace 2V could be launched globally as the Nord 3, the company’s official mid-premium segment smartphone. While there is no confirmed word on this, isolated rumours about the Nord 3 seem to have tipped different sets of specifications, and it remains to be seen if there is any design resemblance between the two, when the purported Nord 3 nears launch.

HIGHLIGHTS

* Nothing is preparing to launch Nothing Ear (2) this month.

Nothing Ear (2) launch date has been officially confirmed. The Carl Pei-owned company confirmed that the Nothing Ear (2) will be the company’s new truly wireless stereo (TWS) earbuds launching later this month.
The Ear (1) has been officially discontinued in India and has been unavailable for quite some time.
This does confirm that the company is making way for the Ear (2), which should be available soon after the global unveiling. The company is likely to partner with Flipkart for the availability of the Ear (2).
In addition to the launch date, the company has also confirmed some of the key features of its TWS.
Let’s take a look at the Nothing Ear (2) launch date, specifications and other details known so far ahead of its official launch.

London-based consumer technology brand

Nothing has announced that it is all set to launch the Nothing Ear (2) on March 22nd. On its official Twitter handle, the company has shared an image that confirms that the successor of Nothing Ear (1) is all set to arrive in the coming weeks.
However, the company has not yet clarified if the product will be initially launched in India or globally.

Nothing Ear (2) launch date, time

The Nothing Ear (2) will be the company’s new premium TWS launching worldwide on March 22. The TWS will have a transparent design. Nothing revealed that the premium TWS earbuds will continue to feature the company’s “iconic design with elite engineering and next-level personalisation for the ultimate sound experience.”
This means that users will get the TWS earbuds and the charging case with a semi-transparent design.
The earbuds will also continue to support Active Noise Cancellation (ANC). Other details confirmed so far include real-time GPS tracking for the earbuds, which will help find them easily in case you lost them somewhere.
The teaser image also teases the design, which suggests that the case will get a new design.

Nothing CEO Carl Pei is known to tease many features of the products that his company is set to launch.
So, it would not be a surprise if more features of the upcoming Nothing TWS earbuds are revealed ahead of the launch on March 22.

Recently, the London-based business has tweeted many unusual images and even a video of the upcoming Nothing Ear (2), which is said to be among the company’s most anticipated products.

“And now, Nothing has revealed that Nothing Ear (2) will be released on March 22 at 15:00 GMT (8:30 PM IST).
Except for the launch date and time, no other details have been shared by the company so far.

A recent report leaked the design of the upcoming earbuds from Nothing. As per the leaked renders, the earbuds will continue to sport a semi-transparent design. The stem continues to exist with a transparent case whereas the internals are protected and covered by a black sheet. Both earbuds have silicone rubber ear tips.
There are some minor changes in the design of the earbuds. The noise-cancelling microphone, for example, has been moved to the red dot on the stem. In comparison, the Ear (1)’s microphone was placed at the top of the earbud.
The stem also has the Nothing Ear (2) branding on it.
The case is said to get some design changes. Nothing is yet to take the wraps off the design details of the charging case. However, considering we are very close to the launch, it would not be a surprise if the case manages to get leaked in the coming days. Nothing might drop a surprise and reveal the design ahead of the launch too.

Nothing Ear (2) design, features (expected)

A recent leak of a render of Nothing Eat (2) suggests that the company will stick with a similar transparent design philosophy as seen on the Ear (1).
The only change that can be seen from the outside is the placement of the noise-cancelling microphone – it used to be on the top, but will be near the red mark on the front of the Ear (2).
To recall, the Nothing Ear (1) was launched in India in 2021 with a transparent design and ANC and was priced at Rs 5,999. However, the price of Nothing Ear (2) is still unknown.

The upcoming Nothing Ear 2 will probably have personalised active noise cancellation (ANC) that can be set to the level that the user wants.
There will also be a “Transparency Mode,” which, as the name suggests, lets outside noise in while music is playing.
It will support dual connectivity, which means that users can connect with two devices at once and switch between them easily.
Last but not least, the company is likely also adding support for Advanced EQ with custom settings and the Find Earbuds Feature.
