Tech giant Google is all set to unveil the Google Pixel 7a along with a slew of other products at the Google I/O event today.
The Google Pixel 7a will be launched as the successor to the Google Pixel 6a and will be added to the existing lineup alongside the Google Pixel 7 and Google Pixel 7 Pro.
Among other products, the company is expected to announce its much-anticipated Google Pixel Fold, Google Pixel Tablet, Android 14 and some other software and hardware.
If you want to watch the live launch event of Google Pixel 7a, we have you covered.
Let us explore the expected price, specifications and features of the upcoming Google devices and details on how you can watch the live streaming of its launch event.
And finally, the D-day is here. The day when the tech giant Google will announce a host of hardware products at the I/O 2023 event including its much-awaited foldable phone.
Hah, finally! Even before the official launch, Google has revealed the first look of its foldable phone, but hasn’t yet confirmed what it is going to call it officially. Now, if rumours and leaks are considered, the Google foldable phone will be called Pixel Fold.
Looking closely at the teaser, the upcoming Pixel Fold looks nothing less than a sexy phone. In fact, in my opinion, it appears to be one of the sexiest phone yet.
The short teaser is the only thing Google has revealed about the Pixel foldable phone yet. Even though it is short, it gives out a lot in terms of design.
The specs, not so much. And even the price, not so much. So, let’s first take a look at what Google has officially revealed about the upcoming foldable phone.
Google Pixel 7a launch time, how to watch live-stream
The products will be unveiled at Google’s annual developer conference, Google I/O 2023, which will take place in person at Shoreline in Mountain View, California. The event is scheduled for May 10th at 10 AM Pacific Time (10:30 PM IST). The event will be available for live streaming, allowing users to join and view it online.

Pixel Fold: Unwrapping
The design of the so-called Pixel Fold looks promising and the best bit is it doesn’t look anything like its competition including the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold series. Although it takes design cues but still looks a lot different from the Samsung Fold.
Unlike the Samsung foldable, the Pixel Fold offers a wider form factor, which also means better viewing and multimedia experience.
Well, as per the teaser, the Pixel Fold not only offers a large foldable screen but the cover display is also large enough. Now, that is something that I wanted to see in foldable phones for the longest time.
The advantage of a large outer screen is that you need to open the foldable screen every time there’s a new notification, even you can click selfies and see yourself clearly on the screen.
So, by the looks of it Google is moving towards the right direction. At least that’s what it appears right now.
While Google hasn’t revealed too much of screen details, the rear panel design looks quite similar to the Pixel 7 series. In fact, the upcoming Pixel 7a is also said to offer a similar kind of camera design.
Google is also trying new colour options for Pixel, so the effort that the company is making to make the Pixel Fold stand out of its competition is quite visible.
Google Pixel 7a
The Google Pixel 7a will be the next budget flagship from the tech giant, which will debut in India on May 11, a day after the official unveiling.
According to previous leaks and rumours, the device could have design language, camera specs and the Tensor G2 SoC similar to the Pixel 7.
The Pixel 7a may also feature different specs such as a standard 3.5mm headphone jack, an OLED panel with a 90Hz refresh rate and a lower price tag. The device is likely to be priced at around Rs 46,000 in India.
As per famed tipster named Roland Quandt has shared promotional images and specs of the Pixel 7a, which shows the handset in three colours: carbon, arctic blue and cotton. However, there’s no mention of the coral/orange colour that was teased a few days back.
Quandt has posted images of the upcoming Pixel 7a and a spec sheet that draws a comparison between last year’s Pixel 6a and the upcoming Pixel 7a.
According to the purported alleged marketing materials, there would be a 6.1-inch full-HD+ display on the Pixel 7a with a refresh rate of 90Hz. The device will be powered by Google’s proprietary Tensor G2 SoC.
There would be a dual rear camera at the back of the Pixel 7a dominated by a 64MP primary wide sensor coupled with a 13MP ultrawide sensor. There could be a 13MP selfie camera at the front. Unlike the Pixel 6a, the Pixel 7a will support both fast wired charging as well as wireless charging.
Google Pixel Tablet
Google is likely to unveil the Pixel Tablet alongside the Pixel 7a and the Pixel Fold at its I/O developer conference.
The Google Pixel Tablet’s specifications, price and design details have been leaked through an Amazon Japan listing ahead of the Google I/O event. The Pixel Tablet will compete with the newly-unveiled OnePlus Tab, the first premium Android tab from OnePlus.
According to Amazon Japan website, the pricing, colour options and other details of the Pixel Tablet have surfaced. The listing suggests that the Google Pixel Tablet will be made available in two colourways: Hazel and Porcelain or White.
Amazon Japan’s website mentioned the tab’s price as 79,800 Yen, which roughly translates into Rs 48,500, which means it will be priced higher than the new OnePlus Pad.
This also means that the Google Tablet is likely to be a flagship tab. The Pixel Tablet is likely to be made available in June this year.
Meanwhile, a previous report by CNBC citing internal documents, said, known by the codename “Felix”, the upcoming Pixel Fold is said to have the “most durable hinge on a foldable” phone.
Google Pixel Fold is likely to be priced upward of $1,700 and it will give competition to Samsung’s $1,799 Galaxy Z Fold 4.

Faqs on Google Pixel 7a
1) Is Pixel Fold coming to India?
Ans) Now, the million-dollar question – will Pixel Fold launch in India? Well, the answer to that is – possibly not. Rumours suggest that Google could limit the availability of the Pixel Fold to select markets and it might not come to India. Although it should be noted that Google hasn’t confirmed any availability details yet. But it is safe to assume that India may not get the Pixel Fold, at least not for the time being.
One of the biggest reasons Google may not bring the Pixel Fold to India could be the price. The Pixel Fold is expected to be priced on a much higher side, in fact, assumption is that it will cost as much as the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 or even more. Now, India being a price sensitive market, it is likely that Pixel Fold may not gain the traction that Google is expecting at such a higher price point. Something that also the flagship Pixel series had to suffer in the past and possibly even now. So, it is assumed that Pixel Fold may not hit the Indian market just yet. Again, it is all assumption for now.
Now, if it was coming to India, Google India would be promoting it way ahead of the launch just like it is doing for the upcoming Pixel 7a. The company has been teasing the next affordable Pixel phone for a while now, in fact, it has confirmed not only the design but also its availability. The Pixel 7a, just like its predecessor Pixel 6a, will be available on Flipkart. The India launch of the Pixel 7a is set for May 11, which is also when the phone will be available for purchase.
So, Indians shouldn’t be too excited about the Pixel Fold. At least for the time being. It should also be noted that India is a crucial market for Google, hence, most of its phones hit the Indian market including the flagship Pixel 7 and the Pixel 7 Pro. So, hoping that the Pixel Fold arrives in India won’t be much to ask for, I believe. But if that happens, there is still a long way to go.
2) Pixel Fold specifications – round up.Details ?
Ans) Now, Google has only revealed some bits about the Pixel Fold. But rumours and leaks have revealed almost all the key specifications that the upcoming foldable phone may pack. Let’s take a closer look at everything we know about the Pixel Fold so far.
-The Pixel Fold is likely to come with a curved metal frame, possibly bundled with a stereo speaker, and a USB Type-C port at the bottom and a metallic hinge.
-As rumours suggest, the cover display of Pixel Fold will measure 5.79-inches with a slightly wider aspect ratio when compared to the Galaxy Z Fold 4. The foldable primary OLED display is said to measure 7.69-inches possibly with FHD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate.
-The Pixel Fold is said to be powered by the Tensor G2, the chip that also powers the Pixel 7 and the Pixel 7 Pro. And even the coming Pixel 7a is said to be powered by the same chipset.
-As per rumours, the phone is said to come in a single memory option: 12GB RAM + 256GB and 512GB of internal storage. Now, on the software front, the phone is likely to ship with Android 13 out-of-the-box.
-In terms of camera specifications, the Pixel Fold is said to borrow the triple camera setup from the Pixel 7 Pro. This simply means that the phone will offer a triple camera setup with a 48-megapixel wide-angle camera, a 10.8-megapixel ultra-wide angle lens, and a 10.-megapixel telephoto zoom lens. The cover display is likely to include – a 9.5megapixel camera shooter while on the inside the device is speculated to pack an 8-megapixel selfie camera.
-Rumours have revealed that the Pixel Fold will be backed by a 4821mAh battery with support for fast charging via the USB Type-C port. Reports also suggest that the Fold will come with support for wireless charging.
3) What is Google I/O 2023?
Ans) Google I/O is the search-engine giant’s annual conference that targets developers. In recent years, it’s been held at the Google Events Center, also known as Googleplex, located in Mountain View California. Although Google I/O is a developers conference, Google typically uses the platform to unveil new products, announce new updates, and reveal novel technologies.
Google I/O kicks off with a keynote where the search-engine giant delves into its future vision for the company and debuts highly anticipated products. For example, at Google I/O 2022, Google made announcements about Android 13, the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro, Google Wallet, Google Maps AR View, Google Assistant, Google Cloud, and more.
4) What is the date and time of Google I/O 2023?
Ans) You may be wondering about the date and time of Google I/O 2023. It will kick off on Wednesday, May 10 at 10 a.m. PST. For your convenience, other time zones are listed below.
* Dallas, Texas – 12:00 noon CT
* Honolulu, Hawaii – 7:00 a.m. HAST
* New York, New York – 1:00 p.m. ET

Ans) Of course, we expect Google to dive into the Pixel Fold it teased last Thursday as well as the Pixel 7a, Pixel 8, the Pixel Tablet, Google Bard, and Android 14. However, the search-engine giant will give some updates on other popular services, including Google Play, Google Cloud, Google Home, and more. Click here for an overview of the Google I/O 2023 program.
After the keynotes, Google says that all of their livestream content will be available on demand on Google I/O’s main page and YouTube.
6) How to watch Google I/O 2023
Ans) If you didn’t receive an invite to the Google I/O 2023 keynote in Mountain View, California, don’t worry. It will be livestreamed for the entire world. You can watch the keynote via Google’s YouTube channel or the Google I/O website.
From personal experience, I’d recommend watching the livestream via the Google I/O website. It will likely be faster and suffer less latency compared to the YouTube livestream.
On the Google I/O website, you’ll see the “Register” button. You don’t need to register to watch the keynote, but if you’re interested in watching the individual virtual sessions and getting deep dives into developer content, you can sign up . Click on “Register,” select your Gmail account, and fill out the form.
The next page will prompt you to make a developer profile, but it’s not necessary. You can hit “No Thanks” at the bottom-left of the screen.
