Even though it is short, it gives out a lot in terms of design. The specs, not so much. And even the price, not so much. So, let's first take a look at what Google has officially revealed about the upcoming foldable phone. Google Pixel 7a launch time, how to watch live-stream The products will be unveiled at Google’s annual developer conference, Google I/O 2023, which will take place in person at Shoreline in Mountain View, California. The event is scheduled for May 10th at 10 AM Pacific Time (10:30 PM IST). The event will be available for live streaming, allowing users to join and view it online. Pixel Fold: Unwrapping The design of the so-called Pixel Fold looks promising and the best bit is it doesn't look anything like its competition including the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold series. Although it takes design cues but still looks a lot different from the Samsung Fold. Unlike the Samsung foldable, the Pixel Fold offers a wider form factor, which also means better viewing and multimedia experience. Well, as per the teaser, the Pixel Fold not only offers a large foldable screen but the cover display is also large enough. Now, that is something that I wanted to see in foldable phones for the longest time. The advantage of a large outer screen is that you need to open the foldable screen every time there's a new notification, even you can click selfies and see yourself clearly on the screen. So, by the looks of it Google is moving towards the right direction. At least that's what it appears right now. While Google hasn't revealed too much of screen details, the rear panel design looks quite similar to the Pixel 7 series. In fact, the upcoming Pixel 7a is also said to offer a similar kind of camera design. Google is also trying new colour options for Pixel, so the effort that the company is making to make the Pixel Fold stand out of its competition is quite visible. Google Pixel 7a The Google Pixel 7a will be the next budget flagship from the tech giant, which will debut in India on May 11, a day after the official unveiling. According to previous leaks and rumours, the device could have design language, camera specs and the Tensor G2 SoC similar to the Pixel 7. The Pixel 7a may also feature different specs such as a standard 3.5mm headphone jack, an OLED panel with a 90Hz refresh rate and a lower price tag. The device is likely to be priced at around Rs 46,000 in India. As per famed tipster named Roland Quandt has shared promotional images and specs of the Pixel 7a, which shows the handset in three colours: carbon, arctic blue and cotton. However, there's no mention of the coral/orange colour that was teased a few days back. Quandt has posted images of the upcoming Pixel 7a and a spec sheet that draws a comparison between last year's Pixel 6a and the upcoming Pixel 7a. According to the purported alleged marketing materials, there would be a 6.1-inch full-HD+ display on the Pixel 7a with a refresh rate of 90Hz. The device will be powered by Google's proprietary Tensor G2 SoC. There would be a dual rear camera at the back of the Pixel 7a dominated by a 64MP primary wide sensor coupled with a 13MP ultrawide sensor. There could be a 13MP selfie camera at the front. Unlike the Pixel 6a, the Pixel 7a will support both fast wired charging as well as wireless charging. Google Pixel Tablet Google is likely to unveil the Pixel Tablet alongside the Pixel 7a and the Pixel Fold at its I/O developer conference. The Google Pixel Tablet's specifications, price and design details have been leaked through an Amazon Japan listing ahead of the Google I/O event. The Pixel Tablet will compete with the newly-unveiled OnePlus Tab, the first premium Android tab from OnePlus. According to Amazon Japan website, the pricing, colour options and other details of the Pixel Tablet have surfaced. The listing suggests that the Google Pixel Tablet will be made available in two colourways: Hazel and Porcelain or White. Amazon Japan's website mentioned the tab's price as 79,800 Yen, which roughly translates into Rs 48,500, which means it will be priced higher than the new OnePlus Pad. This also means that the Google Tablet is likely to be a flagship tab. The Pixel Tablet is likely to be made available in June this year. Meanwhile, a previous report by CNBC citing internal documents, said, known by the codename “Felix”, the upcoming Pixel Fold is said to have the “most durable hinge on a foldable” phone. Now, India being a price sensitive market, it is likely that Pixel Fold may not gain the traction that Google is expecting at such a higher price point. Something that also the flagship Pixel series had to suffer in the past and possibly even now. So, it is assumed that Pixel Fold may not hit the Indian market just yet. Again, it is all assumption for now. Now, if it was coming to India, Google India would be promoting it way ahead of the launch just like it is doing for the upcoming Pixel 7a. The company has been teasing the next affordable Pixel phone for a while now, in fact, it has confirmed not only the design but also its availability. The Pixel 7a, just like its predecessor Pixel 6a, will be available on Flipkart. The India launch of the Pixel 7a is set for May 11, which is also when the phone will be available for purchase. So, Indians shouldn't be too excited about the Pixel Fold. At least for the time being. It should also be noted that India is a crucial market for Google, hence, most of its phones hit the Indian market including the flagship Pixel 7 and the Pixel 7 Pro. So, hoping that the Pixel Fold arrives in India won't be much to ask for, I believe. But if that happens, there is still a long way to go. 2) Pixel Fold specifications - round up.Details ?
