Infinix unveils 260W wired, 110W wireless fast charging; will arrive with a Note smartphone later this year making it the brand with the fastest smartphone charging tech in the world till date

HIGHLIGHTS

* Infinix has announced its all-new 260W wired and 110W wireless fast charging tech.
* The 260W fast charging tech is said to fill a battery from 0 to 100 percent in under 8 minutes.
* The company will launch a new Note-series phone with the new charging tech later this year.

Ever since Realme unveiled its 240W fast charging tech, we have constantly been witnessing more and more companies come up with their own sets of fast charging technologies beyond the 200W mark.

Infinix has now announced its own ultra-fast charging solution, which has made it the brand with the fastest charging smartphone tech till date, at least on paper.

The brand has introduced its 260W wired and 110W wireless fast charging technology and has showcased the capabilities of the new charging tech as well.

Infinix has announced its fastest charging technology rapid wired as well as wireless charging.

The company has made a new record by unleashing ultra rapid 260W wired and 110W wireless charging.

Infinix Fast Charging Tech

The company claims the technology can charge phones to their full capacity in under eight minutes on a wired connection, and 16 minutes through a wireless charger.

“The charging architecture uses a 4-Pump Intelligent Circuit Design that intelligently identifies power requirements and allocates the number of charge pumps needed to work,” Infinix said.

“The upgraded 12C high rate 4400mAh battery [has] a multi-electrode lug structure, which ensures a high charging conversion efficiency of up to 98.5%, while also increasing battery durability,”.

Infinix 260W wired, 110W wireless Fast Charging Technology Details

Infinix Fast Charging Tech

Infinix claims that the new fast charging technology is aimed at providing an all-round fast charge solution, hence the brand’s decision to come up with such ultra-fast wired, as well as wireless fast charging speeds.

The new fast charging solution is claimed to fill a battery from 0 to 25 percent in just one minute (wired) and 0 to 100% in under 8 minutes.

If, however, a user wants to wirelessly charge their device from 0 to 100%, the same can be achieved in 16 minutes.

The new 260W tech builds on the brand’s existing 180W Thunder Charge tech, and has upgraded from a dual 8C battery to a new single 12C battery with a 4-pump circuit design that is said to intelligently identify power requirements and allocate the number of charge pumps needed.

The official press release for the new charging tech suggests that the charging efficiency is 98.5 percent, and a 4,400mAh battery (the one that has been used for the tests) can retain 90 percent of its initial capacity after 1,000 cycles.

The charger makes use of a combination of GaN material and AHB circuit infrastructure with high power density.

The cable can carry a current of up to 13A to make sure that the device receives the designated 260W charge.

As for the 110W wireless charging, it is developed by using custom-made small-sensitive coils with different architectures.

The brand has also announced a custom-made charger with a dual-coil design, which will charge both in vertical and in horizontal orientation. The charging station also has a fan for heat dissipation.

Infinix has confirmed that the new charging tech will arrive with an upcoming Infinix Note series smartphone later this year.

Just nine months after announcing the 180 W thunder technology, Transsion brand Infinix has made further progress.

This time, the smartphone brand has charted new territory with 260W wired and 110W wireless All Round FastCharge technology.

The 260W charging tech builds on the 180W tech by upgrading from a dual 8C battery to a single 12C battery with a 4-pump circuit design that can intelligently identify power requirements and allocates the number of charge pumps needed.

Infinix claims the charging efficiency using the 260W charging tech is 98.5%, and the 4,400mAh battery it tested with retained 90% of its capacity after 1000 cycles.

The company uses a charger that relies on a combination of GaN material and AHB circuit infrastructure with high power density.

This allows for a small size, and safe charging controls. Infinix also uses a proprietary USB-C charging cable that can carry up to 13A of current to ensure 260W charging.

As for the wireless charging technology, Infinix promises 110W wireless charging by using custom-made small, sensitive coils with different architectures.

The technology uses fewer, but wider coils to reduce internal resistance, which keeps the phone temperature from rising when charging wirelessly.

The 110W wireless charging uses a custom-made wireless charger featuring a dual-coil design for both vertical and horizontal charging. It also uses a fan at the base to keep things cool.

The same technology also enables reverse charging, bypass charging, and multi-protocol charging.

It is also compatible with other standards such as USB Power Delivery 3.0.

While the charging tech is not commercially available as of now, Infinix has promised the 260W fast charging will be available in an upcoming Infinix Note device later this year.

That means if Infinix’s battery was the same size, the extra 20W is saving you 90 seconds of waiting time for that full top up.

Xiaomi recently showed off 300W wired charging that it said can fully charge a smaller 4100mAh battery in four minutes and 54 seconds.

It’s all getting a bit crazy given it still takes me the best part of an hour to fully charge my Google Pixel 7 Pro at its 30W speed. It seems ridiculously slow in comparison, as are the latest iPhones.

While many smartphones now come with very fast charging, Apple and Samsung are holdouts.

The iPhone 14 Pro can only charge at a maximum speed of 27W, while the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra can hit 45W. Neither of these phones comes with a charger in the box – but companies that offer very fast wired charging as a reason to buy the phone are all generally still including the charger in the retail packaging.

2) What are the leaks around Realme C55 ?

Ans) Tipster Paras Guglani (@passionategeekz) suggested in a tweet that the Realme C55 expected to launch globally on March 7 and go on sale starting March 8. He added that the model is likely to launch in India later this year.

He also hinted at a few key specifications that the purported Realme device may arrive with.

As per the tipster, the Realme C55 could feature a 64-megapixel AI Camera as its primary sensor among the likely dual rear camera setup of the device. The model is expected to launch in a single configuration of 8GB RAM + 256GB storage, according to the leak, which added that the upcoming Realme C55 may also feature 16GB Dynamic RAM.

Tipped to be powered by a MediaTek Helio G88 chipset, the rumoured Realme C55 is also expected to support 33W SUPERVOOC charging and come equipped with a 5,000mAh battery.

Attached to the tweet, is a leaked promotional image of the Realme C55 handset, which suggests that the device will be available in a Sunshower colour.

Another leak by Price Baba suggests that the Realme C55 smartphone will also be available in a Black colour variant.

The second leak also offered design renders of the upcoming smartphone, and suggests that the Realme C55 may be the company’s first C-series phone with a punch-hole display.

As seen in the leaked images cited in the report, the back of the model mostly has a matte finish with only a glossy bit around the dual-camera unit.
The handset is also seen sporting a side-facing fingerprint scanner.

A promotional video, recently leaked by the same tipster, also showed the two separate rear camera modules of the purported Realme C55.
The short 10-second clip also showed the power button on the left edge of the device as having a fingerprint scanner.

Overall, the design appears similar to that of the Redmi 10 4G that launched in February 2022.

Another earlier leak from YouTuber Official Complete Selular, cited in a report by Gizmochina suggests a lot of important specifications of the Realme C55, which is said to have a thick top and bottom bezel, with a USB Type-C port at the bottom with a 3.5mm audio jack and speaker grille.

This report suggested that the Realme C55 will feature a 6.52-inch LCD display with Full-HD+ resolution and a refresh rate of 90Hz. It was also the first to hint that the device will likely be powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio G88 processor and could come with 6GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB eMMC 5.1 storage.

The smartphone was also expected to feature a dual-rear camera system in this report led by a 64-megapixel primary sensor and a 2-megapixel auxiliary sensor, paired with an 8-megapixel selfie camera.
The report added that the phone is expected to run Realme UI 4.0 based on Android 13.

Jabra Elite 5 Unboxing

Jabra Elite 5

Jabra Elite 5 is the latest addition to the wide range of TWS earbuds offered by the brand. The earbuds come in a solid white packaging box with branding and product information neatly printed all around.

The box mentioned every significant product feature and manufacturing detail.

The top of the white packaging box slides open to reveal a nicely designed cabin box that houses the product and other accessories. The box has a slider cabin with two folding flap covers that have important product information printed on each.

On one side you get the information about the earbuds and on the other fold details out the Jabra Sound+ App details.

Inside the box, we get 3 sets of EarGels of different ear panel sizes so that the users can choose the tips that suit their ear panel the most. Along with that, we get the USB-C to USB-A cable smartly packed together with the 3 sets of EarGels.

The next thing we notice inside the box is the stylish charging case itself. In hands, the charging case’s attractive matt finish is the first thing to admire about the earbuds.

At the bottom of the box, we get the warranty card along with some warning leaflets.

Jabra Elite 5 Design

j5
j3 j4 j5

The charging case itself is simplistic and compact. We get the Jabra logo on the front along with an LED indicator for charging and battery status. It also has a USB-C charging port on the rear.

And with this model, Jabra got the charging part back on the rear, which is something that many users complained about in the Elite 7 Pro.

At the bottom of the charging case, we get the QI logo which indicates the availability of Qi wireless charging.

Inside we get the earbud neatly tucked. Right off the block, we noticed that the earbuds have a more angular faceplate design compared to the Elite 7 Pro.

The earbuds themselves, design-wise, don’t really look very different in terms of how Jabra has always designed their earbuds. It appears the brand has stayed true to its design convictions.

The magnets in the case are really strong so there’s no need to worry about the earbuds accidentally coming loose. The face plate itself is a large physical button which is nice for people who prefer not to deal with finicky touch controls.

Jabra Elite 5 Sound Quality

1
2
1 2

The sound quality is relatively flat compared to the more base-heavy Elite for active. Elite 5, as for the quality of sound, is actually quite aligned with how the Elite 7 Pro sounded. The balanced sound, however, makes it easy to tweak the EQ to personal liking, which could be a plus point from a certain user perspective.

While we extensively used the Jabra Elite 5, we found ourselves boosting the bass and the mids from time to time. The smooth EQ preset was definitely one of our favourites out of all the options available, so we recommend that as the perfect starting point for anyone planning on picking these earbuds.

The Sound Stage is a bit narrower and not as wide and spacious as a lot of other earbuds available in the market offer. Instrument Imaging, however, is pretty accurate.

Jabra Elite 5 Connectivity and Control

Jabra Elite 5

Jabra Elite 5 is equipped with Bluetooth v5.2 and support the SBC AAC and aptx codex.

It 5 has six-millimetre drivers similar to the Elite 7 Pro. This also finally has a Qualcomm processor that Jabra is advertising. There’s also a multi-point and these earbuds remember up to six devices. So, that’s more than enough for people who are using a smartphone, a desktop, a laptop and a tablet.

By default on the right side, a single press controls play pause, a double press skip tracks forward, three presses skip tracks backwards and a long press & hold raises the volume.

On the left side, a single press toggles between A and C and transparency, a double press pulls up the voice assistant and a long press & hold lower the volume.

These are default control we get preset out of the box. These controls are somewhat customisable in the Jabra Sound Plus App.

Jabra Elite 5 features quality integrated microphones that promise an uninterrupted, noise-free call experience. In our attempt to use earbuds for official calls and meetings, the voice quality on the other side was quite clear.

Moreover, the earbuds do a fine job of keeping unwanted noise at bay during calls.

Jabra Elite 5 App and Features

The Jabra Sound+ Companion app is a must-download in our opinion. First off, we get our firmware updates via the app. But there are also a bunch of other features that we can access including EQ control customization, ear detection, Spotify tap, and My sound which is personalized EQ essentially and personalized ANC among others.

Jabra Elite 5 gets the Google Fast Pair technology, although for Android only with all major Voice assistant support including Amazon Alexa, Siri, and Google Assistant™ (Android only).

ANC

Jabra Elite 5

These Elite 5 earbuds are using hybrid ANC technology which is basically using feedback and feed-forward microphones to help cancel out outside noise. As we used these, we were quickly reminded of the ANC on the Jabra Elite 7 Pro, which was just mediocre in performance.

Upon aggressively using the Elite 5, it turns out the ANC on these is also just mediocre in cancelling outside noise.

With music playing, we did notice that environmental noise was less intruding with the ANC on. But in crowded areas, there’s still a touch of noise that’s not able to be completely removed even with the ANC On.

However, we noticed train rumble or engine noise sounds are still quite decently removed. So, if you’re planning on using these mostly for your daily commute, it should be fine.

IP Ratings

Jabra Elite 5

Jabra Elite 5 comes with an IP P55 rating that ensures dust and water resistance. Now a lot of people really enjoy using Jabra earbuds when they are outside running or inside the gym exercising, so the IP ratings indicate an assurance that users will face no problem there at all.

Jabra Elite 5 Battery Performance

The battery life is pretty good in Jabra Elite 5. The brand claims 9 hours in the earbuds with ANC Off and 7 hours with ANC On. While with the charging case, the battery backup comes up to a total of 36 hours with ANC Off and 28 hours with ANC On. Overall, we get an additional three charges in the case.

The battery life on paper claimed by the brand is relatively accurate. We did get slightly over 6 hours of playtime with ANC On.

Also, the case supports wireless charging, which is something that makes the new Jabra Elite 5 stand out from its competitors.

Verdict

1 2

Overall, the Jabra Elite 5 are a decent pair of earbuds at the given price point. There’s decent balance sound, good battery life, APTX support and above all they’re comfortable to use for long hours.

These earbuds actually feature every required wireless sound technology to make them a favourable TWS market, especially at the given price range.

Users get decent call quality, somewhat usable ANC, ease of use, and decent battery life, all of which make Jabra Elite 5 challenge some of the top competitors in the mid-range wireless earbuds market segment in India.

FAQs on Jabra Elite 5?

Q1. How long can you enjoy Jabra Elite 5?

Answer. If we round up the overall performance, it is the modest on-battery time of six hours (ANC-on), which is close to the company’s claimed seven hours. With a charging case, the earbuds can go up to 28 hours.

Q2. Is there an ear tip fit test?

Answer. There’s no straightforward fit test in the Jabra Sound+, but the noise cancelling personalization feature can help you find out if one ear isn’t quite sealing right. If ANC is less intense in one ear, it could be a sign to swap out an ear tip.

Q3. How long do Jabra Elite headphones last?

Answer. You can get up to 5.5 hours on a single charge with ANC (Active Noise Cancellation), with a total charge of up to 24 hours with the charging case. If you use the earbuds without ANC and HearThrough, you will get even more battery, with up to 7.5 hours in the earbuds and a total of 28 hours with the charging case.

Q4. What is the Find My Jabra feature?

Answer. Jabra Sound+ uses your phone’s location data to store your Jabra device’s last known location. If you misplace your Jabra device, you can use this information to locate it using the map on your smartphone. You can also activate your Jabra device to make a sound, so it is easier to find. The Find My Jabra feature is disabled by default.

Jabra Sound+ only stores the last known location, and any previous location data is permanently deleted. All location data is stored locally on your phone and is never shared or stored externally.

If you remove permissions for the Find My Jabra feature, all location information is deleted and it will not be possible to locate your Jabra device. It is not possible to restore location data once it has been deleted.

Q5. What is Jabra Sound+?

Answer. Jabra Sound+ is the perfect companion app for your Jabra headphones – adding extra features and allowing you to personalise the way you use your Jabra device. Use Jabra Sound+ to register your product and update firmware for selected Jabra products.

Depending on the product connected you can, for example, change the language used for voice guidance, adjust the listening audio using an equaliser, and adjust HearThrough and Sidetone settings. Battery status for the Jabra product connected is also displayed. Don’t have Jabra Sound+ yet?

You can download it from Google Play on your Android device and from the App Store on your iOS device.

Q6. What can I do to reduce internal noise caused by bone conduction?

Answer. Due to the in-ear wearing style of your Jabra earbuds, your sound experience may be affected by bone conduction. Bone conduction is the transfer of sound to the inner ear primarily through the bones of the skull.

You may hear background sounds, such as your own footsteps or chewing, travel through the bones in your head rather than through the air. This sensation would be similar to hearing these sounds while using your fingers to plug your ears.

To reduce the sensation of bone conduction, try a different-sized EarGel to get a slightly looser fit. If your earbuds support the HearThrough feature in the Jabra Sound+ or Jabra Sport Life app, try using this setting to let in surrounding sounds.

Q7. What is HD Voice in Jabra Elite 5?

Answer. HD Voice refers to high-definition voice quality for audio. Call technology that carries voice data in a wider band of frequencies. Also known as ‘wideband’.

Redmi K60 Ultra Launch Timeline, Specifications Leaked; Tipped to Feature MediaTek Dimensity 9200 SoC and 100W fast charging

0

HIGHLIGHTS

* Redmi K60 Ultra is tipped to come with MediaTek Dimensity 9200 SoC and 100W fast charging support.
* The phone is expected to launch around Q3 2023.
* Redmi K60 Ultra will arrive as a successor to the Redmi K50 Ultra.
* The phone will sit at the top of the K60 series lineup as per the moniker.
* However, the specifications leaked ahead of the launch suggest otherwise.

Redmi is apparently gearing up to introduce a new K-series phone in China soon.
The handset in question is none other than the Redmi K60 Ultra and this will arrive as a follow-up to the Redmi K50 Ultra that was released in the summer of 2022.

The handset is expected to arrive in Q3 2022.

Now, a new leak suggests the phone will arrive with the MediaTek Dimensity 9200 SoC and 100W fast charging support.

Notably, the Pro version shipped with Snapdragon 8 Gen2 SoC and 120W fast charging.
The Ultra version of the lineup is usually expected to pack in better hardware than the Redmi K60 Pro or the predecessor that came with Snapdragon 8+ Gen1 SoC and 120W charging.

Either the leaked details are not accurate or the moniker of the phone could be different.

Redmi launched the K60 Pro in December 2022 in China. The smartphone is expected to launch in global markets as the POCO F5 Pro. It looks like Xiaomi might launch another premium smartphone in the Redmi K-series flagship lineup.

According to a new leak, the Redmi K60 Ultra is in the works. Xiaomi has not officially confirmed any details but a new leak has now revealed some key details about the upcoming K60 Ultra.

Redmi K60 Ultra

In a Weibo post, reliable tipster Digital Chat Station suggested that Redmi will launch the K60 Ultra device in the third quarter of the year, that is within July, August or September.
The leak added that the smartphone is expected to be powered by a MediaTe Dimensity 9200 chipset and could support 100W fast charging.

Both these purported features, if true, will be markedly improved than the high-end Redmi K60 Pro.

The Redmi K60 Ultra device is expected to succeed the K50 Ultra handset that launched in August 2022.

Offered in four storage configurations, the model is priced starting from CNY 2,999 (roughly Rs. 35,400).

It is available in Black, Blue, and Silver colour variants.

The upcoming top-of-the-line Redmi K60 series flagship is said to feature a MediaTek Dimensity 9200 SoC.

The flagship SoC is found in many premium smartphones in China and some other markets.

Let’s take a look at the Redmi K60 Ultra specifications, features and other details known so far.

Redmi K60 Ultra Specifications Tipped

The Redmi K60 Ultra is expected to launch soon in China as a flagship offering. It could debut as a successor to last year’s K50 Ultra.

The K60 Ultra is said to feature the latest Dimensity 9200 SoC.

The chipset has a peak clock speed of 3.05GHz and comes with a 1 + 3 + 4 cluster setup.
According to tipster Digital Chat Station (DCS), the K60 Ultra is also said to feature support for 100W fast charging. While 100W fast charging is quite fast, it falls short of the K60 Pro’s 120W fast charging by a few minutes.

The device is also expected to feature a 1.5K resolution AMOLED display with support for up to a 144Hz refresh rate.

Based on the leaked specs, the phone does not sound like an Ultra model as the K60 Pro itself has a 2K AMOLED display, a faster Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC and 120W fast charging support.

Redmi K60 Ultra

Even if the device does exist, we suspect that the phone could be launched with a different name and not necessarily the K60 Ultra.

DCS claims that the said device will debut in the third quarter of 2023. We are many months away from the rumoured launch timeline.

Therefore, we suggest taking the leak with a pinch of salt. There are no other leaks around the K60 Ultra’s specifications.

We can expect it to feature a 6.67-inch AMOLED display, a beefy battery and a triple-camera setup on the back.

The phone might sport a flat display on the front as well. We will have to wait for some more details before the phone launches around the rumoured timeline.

Maurya mentioned that the upcoming smartphone would flaunt an AMOLED display and in-display fingerprint sensor.

It is also claimed to be India’s first 64MP optical image stabilisation (OIS) camera setup in the segment.

As per the CEO, the iQOO Z7 will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 920 5G chipset and will offer the 44W flash charge technology that is said to charge the phone from 1 per cent to 50 per cent in just around 25 minutes, the report said.

Meanwhile, other reports have hinted that the smartphone has a 6.5-inch FHD+ panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and a 16MP selfie camera.

The MediaTek Dimensity 920 5G chipset will likely be paired with up to 12GB of RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage.

And talking about the battery, the smartphone might pack a 5,000mAh battery.

iQOO Z7 5G

Notably, just a few days ago, iQOO CEO Nipun Marya teased the AnTuTu Benchmark score of the upcoming mid-range smartphone.

The score was over 4.8 lakh, above most smartphones with Snapdragon 695 chipset.

Following the tweet by Marya, noted tipster took to Twitter to claim that the smartphone will be powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 920 SoC, which is a premium mid-range chipset with ARM’s Cortex A78 architecture, 5G support, LPPDDR5 RAM, UFS 3.1 storage, and 6nm fabrication process.

Before that, a 3C Certification listing revealed that the iQ0O Z7 would also be the first Z-series smartphone with over 100W fast charging.

The listing confirmed that the handset would feature an impressive 120W fast charging support.

The 3C listing also revealed that the more affordable iQ00 Z7× would feature 80W fast charging support.

The rest of the details are unknown as everything will be revealed officially on March 21. As of now, there is no confirmation on memory options.

The iQOO Z7 will likely be available for purchase via Amazon, considering the e-commerce giant has started teasing the launch of the phone on its platform.

iQOO Z7 5G

The upcoming iQOO Z7 5G’s selfie camera will be located in a waterdrop notch at the top of the phone, according to an earlier teaser of the device.                                       The volume keys and power buttons are located on the right side of the device’s chassis.                                                                                                                     We might have to wait a little longer to learn more about the smartphone’s remaining design language since the brand has not yet shown off the other sides of the device.

Realme Fold and Realme Flip foldable phones teased by CEO Madhav Sheth: Hints Official Teaser

0

HIGHLIGHTS

* Realme has officially teased Realme Flip and Fold foldable phones.
* The brand might soon take on foldable from Samsung, Xiaomi and others in the market.
* More details about the Realme foldables’ launch are yet to be revealed.
* Realme could be entering the foldable space this year.
* Madhav Sheth teases Realme Fold and Realme Flip phones.
* The launch may happen later in 2023.

After Samsung, Huawei, OPPO, Tecno, and Motorola, Realme seems to be the next major smartphone brand to jump on the foldable bandwagon.

The company’s India head, Madhav Sheth has teased a foldable and asked fans whether they want the Realme Flip or Realme Fold as the next product.

This is a good indication to suggest the brand is seriously contemplating introducing its first foldable phone in India and probably globally as well.

However, an actual timeline can’t be confirmed at the moment.

The Realme Flip phone should have a design that could be identical to the OPPO Find N2 Flip, while the Realme Fold could be identical to the OPPO Find N2 or the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4.

There are chances that the brand has both models ready on its hands.

Realme Fold

Foldable phones are going mainstream in 2023. Many OEMs have debuted in the space and it seems that the rest of the brands are targeting this segment as well.

OPPO debuted its first clamshell foldable phone, Find N2 Flip in the global markets. OnePlus has confirmed that its first foldable phone will launch later this year.

Tecno, which mainly focuses on budget centric phones, launched its first foldable phone, Phantom V Fold at Mobile World Congress 2023.

Realme is the latest smartphone brand to tease a foldable phone.

Madhav Sheth, Vice President of Realme, has himself teased the smartphones. Here’s everything you need to know about it.

Madhav Sheth has officially teased the Realme Fold and Flip phones via Twitter.

Realme FoldHe asked users on which phone they would like to see first – a fold or flip. The last time company teased a foldable phone officially was in November 2021.

At that time, the sketch of its first foldable phone had leaked which was tipped to launch in 2022 but that never happened.

It now seems that the company is planning to launch its first foldable phones later this year.

We speculate that the company could launch both fold and flip phones in 2023. Its BBK group siblings, OPPO, OnePlus and Vivo are also gearing up to add a clamshell foldable phone, so it won’t be surprising to see Realme adding a foldable phone to its portfolio.

While nothing is confirmed about the Realme fold or flip phone, we expect them to be similar to OPPO Find N2 and Find N2 Flip.

Realme Flip/Realme Fold Teased

Realme Fold

Since the top executive has started teasing the foldable, we can speculate the launch of the same might be inching close and more teasers should come our way in the near future.

We believe the Realme Flip and Realme Fold may not be the final names of the phones as they seem pretty basic but we can’t say for certain just yet.

Back in November 2022, Realme China’s Vice President Xu Qi spoke about the brand’s future plans, where he mentioned that Realme will be launching two GT Neo-branded phones, two number series phones, and one GT series model each year. He added that the brand is working on an affordable foldable.

If true, the foldable might give a tough fight against the market giants like Samsung, Huawei and others.

OnePlus Foldable Phones Launch Confirmed

Realme Fold

In other news, OnePlus is also confirmed to launch foldable phones later this year. The company officially confirmed the news during MWC 2023 and OnePlus 11 launch event.
It will be launched in the Q3 of 2023.

OnePlus had trademarked OnePlus V Fold and V Flip names, so likely these are the names that the company will call for their first foldable phones.

Tough Competition for Samsung

Realme Fold

Samsung has been the dominant brand in the foldable space because of less competition or precisely no competition. There have been many foldable launches in the past by Xiaomi, OPPO or Huawei but that was limited to China only.

However, with the debut of OPPO Find N2 Flip, competition has just become intense for Samsung.

Moreover, with the launch of OnePlus and Realme foldable, the foldable segment will finally become competitive which will benefit users in the end.

It would be interesting to see how Samsung tackles its upcoming competition.

In related news, Realme has recently launched the Realme GT 3 240W in the global market.

It is a rebranded version of the Realme GT Neo 5 240W, available in China.

Besides 240W fast charging, the GT 3 offers a 6.74-inch OLED 1.5K 144Hz display, a Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chip, LPDDR5x RAM, UFS 3.1 storage, 50-megapixel triple cameras, and a 4,600mAh battery.

Considering how foldable phones are the new trend in the smartphone market, we’re curious to know what Realme has in store for us.

FAQ’s on Realme

1) How is the battery of Realme GT 3?

Ans) A full charge in nine and a half minutes If 240W fast charging sounds fast, that’s because it is. Realme says it represents “the highest possible charging speed for Type-C” (which makes sense given the latest charging standards from the USB Implementers Forum).

It’s faster than the 210W-capable Redmi Note 12 Discovery Edition and the 150W charging found in OnePlus devices like the 10T.

But it might not be on top for long. Xiaomi’s Redmi subbrand is working hard to beat
Realme’s 240W fast-charging speeds, if a new 300W fast-charging proof of concept it just announced is anything to go by.

But although 240W is a very big number, the phone’s charging speeds aren’t an order of magnitude faster than what we’ve seen with previous fast-charging phones.

Realme says the GT3 can charge to 100 percent in nine and a half minutes, but bear in mind that the Redmi Note 12 Discovery Edition could already charge its (admittedly smaller) 4,300mAh battery to 100 percent in around nine minutes with 210W fast charging.
And even the OnePlus 10T’s 150W fast charging could get its 4,800mAh battery to 100 percent in under 20 minutes.

But more compelling is what a quick burst of charging can achieve.
Realme advertises that a 30-second charge of the GT3, for example, is enough for a two-hour call, three hours of music listening, or 40 minutes of video streaming.
If your phone has ever come close to dying on an important work call, then you’ll know the value of being able to top its power up quickly.

2) What is the Pulse Interface in Realme GT 3?

Ans) Aside from its charging tech, the Realme GT3 also has a neat little RGB lighting rectangle on its rear.

It’s called the “Pulse Interface” and it can light up in dozens of different colors to, for example, indicate a low charge, notify you about an incoming call, or act as a countdown timer for a timed camera shot.

3) What are key specifications of Realme GT 3?

Ans) GT3 is likely to be more of a typical Android handset. The GT Neo 5 is powered by a Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 processor and has a 6.74-inch 144Hz 1240p display.

There are three rear cameras: a 50-megapixel main one, an eight-megapixel ultrawide, and a two-megapixel macro.

And in China at least, you need to opt for the version of the phone with 16GB of RAM and 256GB of storage to get the 240W charging speeds; otherwise, you “only” get 150W fast charging.

4) When will Realme GT 3 launch in India?

Ans) Well, the company has already teased the India launch of the Realme GT 3, which means that the company won’t likely take a lot of time to announce it in the country.
The device has been introduced on the global scale at MWC and it is expected to make it to India soon. As of now, the exact launch date is still unknown.
