The Galaxy S23 Ultra will get two new epic colors that will make you go “Wooow!” That is, according to a recent teaser tweet by Samsung India, which urges fans to stay tuned for more information.

These two new “epic shades” appear to be burgundy and navy blue or derivatives.

Samsung hasn’t revealed the names of these two upcoming Galaxy S23 color options, but the 10-second animation attached to the teaser tweet hints at some form of burgundy or copper and some shade of navy blue.

They can’t be red and sky blue, as these Galaxy S23 Ultra colors already exist under the Special Edition umbrella and can be purchased online in India and other markets.

Galaxy S23 Ultra is becoming one of the most colorful Ultra phones yet

As of this writing, the Galaxy S23 Ultra in India is available in seven color options.

Three are standard colors (green, phantom black, and cream), while the remaining four are Special Edition colors (graphite, sky blue, lime, and red).

It’s just one more quality the Galaxy S23 Ultra has over its rivals and even previous Ultra models. As if the phone wasn’t already epic enough.

It’s unclear if Samsung will release these two new color options exclusively in India or if the epic shades will make their way into online stores in more markets.

And speaking of which, the two new shades may or may not be Special Edition online-only options.

Release dates are always missing, so all in all, this is a bit of a colorful mystery, and Samsung is trying to keep it that way to generate some hype.

New Gmail iOS Update To Simplify Email Unsubscription With Just a Single Tap

New Gmail iOS Update To Simplify Email Unsubscription With Just a Single Tap

Highlights

  • Gmail iOS app now offers a one-tap unsubscribe feature.
  • Previous unsubscribing methods required multiple steps.
  • New Gmail spam control measures to begin in 2024.
  • Bulk senders required to authenticate emails and comply with spam thresholds.

Gmail has recently updated its iOS app, simplifying the process of unsubscribing from bulk emails with a new, more accessible feature.

What the update does for the Gmail app is that now iOS devices quickly unsubscribe from emails with just a single tap.

This enhancement places a prominent ‘unsubscribe’ button next to the sender’s name, streamlining what was previously a more cumbersome process.

Just a background on this cumbersome process, unsubscribing from an email on mobile earlier required users to either tap on the three-dot menu at the top of the message window and select ‘unsubscribe,’ or scroll to the bottom of the email to find the sender’s unsubscribe link.

The new feature on the iOS app eliminates the need for extra steps and scrolling, offering a one-tap solution directly visible without needing to navigate away from the email’s main view.

Interestingly, this update has not yet been seen in the Gmail app for Android devices. That isn’t all that surprising though since Google has had a history of introducing new features on the iOS platform ahead of its Android counterpart.

Previous examples include the introduction of video cropping in Google Photos and the option to delete the last 15 minutes of browsing history in the Google app for iOS users before these features were made available on Android.

In more Gmail news concerned with the company’s increasingly strong stance against Spam, starting in 2024, Gmail will implement new requirements for bulk senders, who often send more than 5,000 messages to Gmail addresses in a single day.

These measures include mandatory email authentication, a simplified one-click unsubscription process, and adherence to a strict spam rate threshold.

The goal is to ensure that senders are who they claim to be, allowing Gmail users to confidently rely on an email’s source.

This initiative, which has already seen a 75% reduction in unauthenticated messages received by Gmail users.

Of course, this update is part of Gmail’s ongoing efforts to enhance the usability and efficiency of its email service, particularly in managing the influx of commercial emails and subscriptions.

FAQs

What is the new feature in the Gmail iOS app?

The latest update in the Gmail iOS app introduces a single-tap unsubscribe button next to the sender’s name.

This simplifies unsubscribing from bulk emails, making it more efficient than the previous process of using the three-dot menu or scrolling to the email’s end.

Has the new unsubscribe feature been added to the Android version of Gmail?

As of now, the single-tap unsubscribe feature has been rolled out only in the Gmail app for iOS devices.

Historically, Google has introduced new features to iOS before bringing them to Android, as seen with other updates in Google Photos and the Google app.

What are Gmail’s upcoming requirements for bulk senders in 2024?

Starting in 2024, Gmail will enforce new requirements for bulk senders, including mandatory email authentication, a one-click unsubscription process, and maintaining a low spam rate. This aims to enhance the security and reliability of emails received by users.

How does the new Gmail update impact user experience and email security?

The recent Gmail updates, including the one-tap unsubscribe feature and upcoming bulk sender requirements, are designed to improve the user experience by reducing spam and simplifying email management, while also enhancing email security and authenticity.

What is the new feature Google is introducing to Gmail on Android?

Google is introducing a new Gmail unsubscribe button in the Android app, making it easier to unsubscribe from unwanted emails.

This button will be prominently displayed next to the sender’s details, simplifying the process of opting out of promotional emails.

How does the new unsubscribe feature compare to the current method on mobile?

The current method on mobile involves using the three-dot menu or searching through the email for the unsubscribe link.

The new feature will streamline this by placing an easily accessible unsubscribe button directly next to the sender’s details, making the process much quicker and more user-friendly.

Is this unsubscribe feature new to Gmail?

While the feature is new to Gmail on Android, it’s not entirely new to Gmail.

The desktop version of Gmail has had a similar feature since 2014, where an unsubscribe link is placed at the top of the email alongside the sender’s information.

POCO M6 vs the POCO M6 Pro Display and Design: The Tale of Two Screens

POCO M6 vs the POCO M6 Pro Design

The display is often an integral part of the smartphone’s capabilities, and in this case, the POCO M6 5G doesn’t disappoint with its 6.74-inch HD+ screen, enriched with a 90Hz refresh.

This feature is particularly appealing to those who value fluidity in their user experience, whether scrolling through feeds or enjoying video content.

On the flip side, the POCO M6 Pro 5G elevates the visual experience with a marginally larger 6.79-inch FHD+ display.

This screen not only offers a higher resolution but also adapts its refresh rate dynamically between 30/48/60/90Hz, optimizing battery life and performance based on the content being viewed.

In terms of design, the POCO M6 adheres to a more traditional budget phone look, complete with a waterdrop notch that has become a familiar sight in the segment.

Its plastic construction is robust, providing a reassuring sense of durability while remaining comfortable to hold.

Color options like Galactic Black and Orion Blue give buyers a modest spectrum to express personal style.

The M6 Pro strides towards a contemporary aesthetic with its punch-hole display, offering a more immersive screen experience.

It’s also available in colours that suggest a touch of sophistication—Forrest Green and Power Black.

POCO M6 vs the POCO M6 Pro Performance: Power for the People

POCO M6 vs the POCO M6 Pro Performance
POCO M6 vs the POCO M6 Pro Performance

The POCO M6 is driven by the MediaTek Dimensity 6100+ SoC.

This chipset is more than capable of handling the daily grind, from the usual calls and social media browsing to more demanding tasks like gaming or multitasking.

On the other hand, the POCO M6 Pro gets its muscle from the Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 SoC.

Qualcomm’s processors are dominant in the smartphone industry thanks to their efficient and reliable performance, and the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 sustains the Pro variant’s operation smoothly, without hiccups, even when pushed a bit harder than usual.

POCO M6 vs the POCO M6 Pro Photography: A Focus on Clarity

POCO M6 vs the POCO M6 Pro Photography
POCO M6 vs the POCO M6 Pro Photography

For those for whom photography is a key consideration, the POCO M6 brings to the table a 50MP dual-camera setup, complemented by LED flash.

Its 5MP front-facing camera serves the purpose for basic selfie needs and video calls.

The M6 Pro, however, ups the game with an 8MP front camera, offering better clarity for selfies and video chats.

The addition of a 2MP depth sensor with the Pro’s rear cameras allows for more creative photography, particularly when capturing a good blurred background effect.

POCO M6 vs the POCO M6 Pro Battery Life and Charging: Endurance Meets Efficiency

POCO M6 vs the POCO M6 Pro Battery Life & Charging

Both the POCO M6 and M6 Pro are equipped to last the day with their 5,000mAh batteries, and the 18W fast charging support means less time tethered to an outlet.

Notably, the POCO M6 includes a 10W charger out of the box, which, while sufficient, might not do justice to the device’s fast charging capabilities.

Price Point: The Balancing Act

Poco M6 5g Price
Poco M6 5g Price

Affordability is key in the budget segment, and POCO seems to have struck a careful balance with the M6 and M6 Pro.

The POCO M6’s starting price of Rs 10,499 makes it accessible, while the higher-tier Rs 13,499 variant remains competitive, especially considering the ICICI bank promotional discounts.

The M6 Pro starts slightly higher at Rs 10,999, reflecting the modest premium for its enhanced features, rounding off at Rs 13,999 for those seeking the upper echelon of the series.

Poco M6 Pro 5g Price

The pricing strategy is a bit of a quandary as the POCO M6 Pro looks much more of a value-for-money proposition as compared to the POCO M6.

POCO M6 POCO M6 PRO
Rs 10,499 for 4GB/128GB Rs 10,999 for 4GB/128GB
Rs 11,499 for 6GB/128GB Rs 11,999 for 6GB/128GB
Rs 13,499 for 8GB/256GB Rs 13,999 for 8GB/256GB

The Bottom Line from the POCO M6 vs POCO M6 Pro Comparison

POCO M6 5G: Design and Display
Poco M6 Pro 5G - Design
POCO M6 5G: Design and Display Poco M6 Pro 5G - Design
  • Both phones offer great value with 5G connectivity at budget-friendly prices.
  • The POCO M6 Pro edges out with a slightly better display and adaptive refresh rates.
  • The design choices cater to different tastes, with the M6 Pro offering a more contemporary look.
  • Both devices are geared up for performance, but the Pro has a slight edge with its Snapdragon chipset.
  • Camera setups are competitive, but the M6 Pro offers more with its additional depth sensor and higher resolution front camera.
  • Pricing for both is aggressive, but the M6 Pro’s slight premium might be justified for those seeking enhanced features.

The catalyst for Huawei’s revival has been its 2023 product lineup, headlined by the Mate 60 series smartphones which are powered by the 5G Kirin 9000s processor.

Released on August 29th, 2023, the Kirin 9000S has a 12-core chipset that encompasses a combination of Cortex-X1, Cortex-A710, and Cortex-A510 cores, running alongside a 750 MHz GPU.

It is fabricated on a 14-nanometer process, despite rumours that it uses SMIC’s 7nm-class fabrication process, and supports connectivity features like 4G, 5G, and Wi-Fi 6.

However, performance assessments of the Kirin 9000S have been mixed.

While it represents a leap in Huawei’s in-house chipset design, it has been found to trail behind in certain areas like GPU performance.

More notably it is nowhere near the current flagship standards of Qualcomm, Apple, and MediaTek all of whom are using 4nm and 3nm fabrication processes, giving each an unparalleled superiority over their Huawei counterparts in terms of power efficiency.

In the broader landscape, Counterpoint’s report states that Qualcomm remains the market leader, holding a 40% share, largely thanks to its Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor that powers several premium smartphones from Chinese manufacturers.

Apple follows with a 31% market share, driven by its iPhone 15 series.

MediaTek is in third place, capturing a 15% share, while Samsung claims fourth place with 7%.

After Huawei, Unisoc takes the sixth position with a 2% share, and Google’s Tensor SoC rounds out the top seven with a 1% share.

Despite the impressive turnaround, the shadow of US sanctions, which targeted Huawei’s access to crucial American technology and components, lingers.

Huawei’s resurgence is indicative of its determination and capacity to innovate but it will need to ramp up its technology prowess to really compete in the smartphone market.
