Deleted WhatsApp messages? Here’s how to restore them

0

With WhatsApp becoming the integral part of our regular lives, messages, video and voice calls are mostly done with this Facebook-owned messaging app. Boasting more than 1.5 billion daily users, WhatsApp is the most popular chat platform in the world. But, oftentimes, while switching to a new phone or for some other reasons, we lose important conversations that can be very disappointing.

Although users can delete messages that are sent accidently, the instant messaging app don’t allow the deleted conversation’s information to be rescued. If you are someone who want to recover any deleted messages on WhatsApp, we are here to help you out with it. In this article, we’ll help you learn a simple way to recover deleted WhatsApp messages on your device.

WhatsApp Chat Backups

To retrieve deleted WhatsApp conversations, users must have enabled ‘Chat Backup’ in the app’s settings. To do this, click on the Settings on the bottom, open the three dot menu at the top right and select Settings. From there, go to Chats > Chat Backup. Here (under Auto Backup on iOS and Back up to Google Drive on Android), WhatsApp offers several backup frequencies, Daily, Weekly, Monthly, and Off.

On Android device, WhatsApp make a local backup every night, but this would not help if you lose your mobile. That’s where cloud backup becomes important.

By having daily auto-backups, users will be able to recover WhatsApp messages easily soon after losing them. On the other hand, weekly auto-backups will allow users to go further back in time to retrieve deleted messages, at the expense of losing recent chat messages.

First of all, you need to use the same mobile number and Google account that was used to create the backup on Google Drive in the first place. Step 5 After the completion of restoration process, tap on Next.

Note: Users must ensure that any message received after the backup time can’t be restored.

The above method of recovering deleted WhatsApp chats works on both – Android and iPhone – as long as you have a backup. Keep in mind that you can only recover backed-up messages within your selected auto-backup frequency. If you have set the WhatsApp to backup daily, you can recover any deleted chats before the next daily backup occurs. But if the app has made a new backup since you deleted certain messages, then they are lost for good.

Nokia C20 Plus vs Realme C21Y: Battle of smartphones under 10K

0

Nokia has recently showcased its brand new smartphone called the Nokia C20 Plus. It is the company’s new entry-level champion and it brings what HMD does the best: clean Android software with regular updates. On the other hand, we have none other than Realme C21Y. It is a budget smartphone with outstanding specifications, which stands against the Nokia C20 Plus. Now, Nokia C20 Plus vs Realme C21Y fit well in our smartphones’ comparison category as both the devices offer reliable features at a similar price range. Today’s comparison between Nokia C20 Plus and Realme C21Y will decide who takes the lead with advanced and enhanced features. Let’s check it out!

Design

The Nokia C20 Plus features a simple design. Its build quality is solid with a plastic unibody chassis and a heavy in-hand feel. The textured back has fine ridges, which make for a decent grip. It is also quite thick at 9.35mm and heavy at 204 grams. On the other hand, Realme C21Y is unquestionably among the better-looking budget smartphones. It uses a plastic chassis for enhanced durability. Realme says it is also the first budget device to have the TUV Rheinland certification. The device is just 9.2mm thick and weighs 200 grams. It is good to see a thin and lightweight form factor in this segment, which is usually limited to high-end devices.

Display

In Nokia C20 Plus, you get a 6.5-inch IPS LCD 1080 pixels display with the conventional 60Hz refresh rate. The screen is as basic as it can get on a budget smartphone. It is not the brightest screen outdoors and struggles to show content under direct sunlight. While Realme C21Y screen has a 6.5-inch IPS-matrix with a resolution of 720×1600 pixels. The maximum brightness is 420 nits. On a sunny day, the screen remains readable and does not fade.

Cameras

The optics are not anything special on the Nokia C20 Plus. It has an 8-megapixel primary + 2-megapixel depth camera while there is a 5-megapixel selfie shooter. With this model, you cannot expect decent daylight photography. In short, Nokia C20 Plus doesn’t have a good camera. On the other side, the Realme C21Y is equipped with a 13-megapixel camera, a 2-megapixel macro camera and a monochrome sensor. Selfie duties are handled by a 5-megapixel camera. C21Y offers a wide field of view and supports Realme’s Super Nightscape Mode that lets you capture low-light photos. There is also a new Chroma Boost mode that uses AI to produce natural-toned pictures.

Processor

The Nokia C20 Plus uses the Unisoc SC9863a processor which has a maximum clock speed of 1.6GHz. This smartphone has up to 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage, which is less than you’d get with many other smartphones available at this segment. While the Realme C21Y is powered by an 8-core Unisoc T610 processor, paired with 4GB of RAM (LPDDR4X) and 64 GB of storage, as well as expandable microSD up to 256 GB. Besides, Nokia C20 Plus runs the Android 11 Go edition while Realme C21Y uses Realme UI R Edition based on Android 11 OS. If we talk about performance, then Realme C21Y clearly overpowers the Nokia C20 Plus.

Battery

Moving to the battery life, the Nokia C20 Plus packs in a 5,000mAh battery that lasts easily for more than a day. It is supported by a tame 10W charger taking approx. 150 minutes to completely juice up the device. On the other hand, the Realme C21Y sports a 5,000mAh battery that can power the phone for a day. Realme’s Super Power Saving mode also helps significantly improve the device’s battery performance.

Price

Nokia C20 Plus price in India starts from Rs 8,499. The smartphone come in 2GB RAM and 32GB storage model and 3GB RAM and 32GB storage configurations at Rs 8,999 and Rs 9,999 respectively. It is available in Ocean Blue, Graphite Black colour options. On the contrary, the Realme C21Y costs Rs 8,999 for the 3GB RAM and 32GB storage version, and Rs 9,999 for the 4GB RAM and 64GB storage version. The phone comes in Cross Blue and Cross Black colours.

Conclusion

It would be challenging to find the best one among these two smartphones because both have their advantages and disadvantages. However, our ideal deal would be the Realme C21Y. The Nokia C20 Plus has the familiar Nokia aesthetic of rigid and sturdy build quality. Beyond that, it is a standard phone with slightly underpowered specifications. When you consider its price tag, Nokia C20 Plus does not offer anything special while Realme C21Y offers a vastly superior software experience. The C21Y is a solid everyday use phone, which is designed beautifully, feature good cameras and has enough processing power to run apps and games. In terms of specifications especially the camera and performance departments, Nokia C20 Plus appears to be behind the Realme C21Y.
