Apple is teaming up with OpenAI to bring ChatGPT to the iPhone, iPad, and Mac. Now, Siri can hand off complex tasks, like generating images or creating content from scratch, to ChatGPT.

With the new Writing Tools, ChatGPT can produce and illustrate original content, going beyond Siri’s capabilities.

For example, you can open a lengthy PDF and ask Siri about a specific topic.

Siri will then pass the request to ChatGPT, which will generate a full summary.

Apple envisions Siri as a guide for AI tools, gathering information and presenting it seamlessly without needing multiple apps.

This ChatGPT integration is optional. Siri will ask for your permission each time before sending a request to ChatGPT and OpenAI’s servers.

Apple and OpenAI won’t keep track of your requests unless you’re signed in to a paid ChatGPT account.

Here are some key app features powered by Apple Intelligence:

  • Messages: Genmoji and Image Playground

Highlight

  • The Snapdragon 8 Gen 4’s Geekbench 6 scores surpass current chips like the A17 Pro.
  • Leaked score makes 8 Gen 4 Qualcomm’s fastest chip to date.
  • Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 features new custom Oryon CPU cores, a next-gen Adreno GPU, and uses TSMC’s N3P 3nm process.

We all know the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 is going to be a game-changer. But the latest Geekbench score tells a whole different story.

This just in – the battle for the most powerful chip just got super interesting.

The new Geekbench 6 results have emerged for the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, giving us a clearer picture of its single-core and multi-core performance.

And while the latest scores are slightly lower than the initial leak, they still surpass current chips like the A17 Pro.

The new Geekbench 6 results have emerged for the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4,
The new Geekbench 6 results have emerged for the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4,

The latest score also made us wonder – if Samsung somehow opts for the more expensive Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 for its Galaxy S25 series instead of its own Exynos 2500, the Galaxy S25 Ultra might outperform the iPhone 16 Pro Max in terms of processing speed.

The top-tier 2025 iPhone is expected to featured the Apple A18 chip, which will only be marginally faster than the current A17 Pro in the iPhone 15 Pro Max.

And now what’s interesting is that the A17 Pro has already been outdone in multi-core performance by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4.

Previously, there have been rumours about Qualcomm testing its new Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chip at different clock speeds.

An early leak even showed that this chip scored over 10,000 points on Geekbench 6, outperforming the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 by a significant 46%.

In the latest score leak, however, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 appeared under the codename Manufacturer Model.

It has shown impressive benchmarks on Geekbench.

It scored 2884 points in the single-core test, matching the speed of the A17 Pro in the iPhone 15 Pro.

What Makes Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 Powerful?

This speed boost is due to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4’s new custom corrre architecture, featuring Oryon CPU cores and a next-generation Adreno GPU.

The Adreno 750 in the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, used in the Galaxy S24 Ultra, is already faster than the GPU in Apple’s A17 Pro.

Apple plans to increase GPU speeds by up to 50% with the A18 series, so the competition in graphics performance remains to be seen.

Qualcomm is using TSMC’s N3P 3nm process for the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4.

This advanced production technology enables the chip’s performance cores to reach over 4GH, according to the Geekbench score detailed.

Despite its high clock speeds, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 is expected to be very energy-efficient.

Qualcomm is likely to unveil this chip at an event in October, and it’s eagerly anticipated.

Confirmed: Xbox Exclusive “Avowed” Delayed to 2025

Highlight

  • Xbox’s most exciting game – Avowed – has been delayed to 2025.
  • Fans note 2025 release is disappointing but will benefit developerObsidian Entertainment.
  • The company confirmed the delay is “to give players’ backlogs some breathing room.”

The news circulating in the gaming community stands true.

Xbox’s most exciting action role-playing game Avowed – will now release in 2025 and not in 2024 missing the schedule.

But it is probably a good division for everyone involved.

In a post on X (previously Twitter) this Friday, Xbox confirmed that Avowed was being delayed to February 18, 2025, while showcasing its upcoming releases.

The company clarified that it wishes “to give players’ backlogs some breathing room” before launching the new game.

Xbox head Phil Spencer chimed in, adding, “We’re proud of what the Obsidian team have accomplished with Avowed and want to make sure they have the best launch possible. We look forward to you enjoying it along with the rest of our lineup of games and updates coming this year and beyond.”

The reports of Avowed’s delay were hinted a day before on X (previously Twitter) by user @Wario64.

According to the media report shared in support of the claim, Avowed is actually “in good shape,” with the reason for the delays is the crowded status of the Xbox Game Pass slate in late 2024.

The company confirmed the delay is “to give players’ backlogs some breathing room.”
The company confirmed the delay is “to give players’ backlogs some breathing room.”

“I understand Avowed is in good shape, this is more a matter of wanting to give the game breathing room outside of a very busy period for Xbox Game Pass,” writes Warren in the latest entry of his Notepad newsletter.

Xbox’s subscription service and its game library are key to their business model, so it’s not too surprising they might shift release dates to fit Game Pass scheduling better.

Originally, it looked like “Avowed” might release in November.

A reported leak from Obsidian hinted at a November 12 release.

But considering all the games coming out, it might have gotten lost in the crowd.

This seems like the right move, especially with how busy the rest of the year is for new game releases.

Xbox Game Studios alone has eight more games and a Starfield expansion coming before the year ends.

October will see the release of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 as a day-one Xbox Game Pass game, a big win for the service. November is already packed with Microsoft Flight Simulator and the delayed S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl.

Plus, we’re getting games like Astro Bot, The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero, Metaphor: ReFantazio, Mario & Luigi: Brothership, Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D Remake, and Assassin’s Creed Shadows.

WhatsApp says, events it’s now easier for people to plan their get-togethers directly

The Events can be set up by pressing the “+” button in the chat group.

You can then select Event and create a name, description, start date, location and call link for virtual meetings.

A notification is sent to group members once an event is created.

While launching the tool in May, WhatsApp mentioned how it would get easier for group members to have events together due to this feature.

“With events it’s now easier for people to plan their get togethers directly in WhatsApp, whether it’s setting up a virtual meeting or birthday dinner. Anyone can create an event and others can respond so the whole group knows who is coming. Guests can also find the event in the group’s information page, and those going will get an automatic notification when it’s getting close” WhatsApp described.

WhatsApp has said that the feature will roll out to users progressively over the coming weeks.

However, we checked and it isn’t available on any major smartphone as of yet.

Overall, this update makes WhatsApp even more useful for group communication and coordination.

Whether you’re planning a birthday party, a work meeting, or a casual get-together, the new event planning feature simplifies the process and helps keep everyone in the loop.

FAQs

Q1. What is the difference between WhatsApp Groups and Communities?

Answer. WhatsApp Groups are individual chat spaces where multiple users can communicate and share messages, media, and files.

Communities, on the other hand, are a way to organize multiple related groups under one umbrella, allowing for better management and coordination.

Communities can contain various sub-groups and provide a centralized space for announcements and updates.

Q2. How do I create a WhatsApp Community?

Answer. To create a WhatsApp Community, tap on the new Communities tab at the top of your chats on Android or at the bottom on iOS.

Enter the community name, description, and profile photo. You can then add groups by creating new ones or adding existing ones that you manage.

Q3. What are the roles and powers of a Community Admin?

Answer. Community Admins have the ability to create and manage communities, add or remove groups, and send announcements to all members.

They can also manage group settings and ensure that the community runs smoothly.

Admins have control over who can join the community and can moderate content to maintain a positive environment.

Q4. Can members of a Community see each other’s phone numbers?

Answer. No, as a member of a Community, you cannot see each other’s phone numbers unless they are in the same group or are community admins.

This helps protect the privacy of users while allowing them to participate in community discussions.

Q5. How many groups can be added to a WhatsApp Community?

Answer. A WhatsApp Community can include up to 50 groups, with each group having up to 5,000 members.

This allows for large-scale coordination and communication within the community.

Tim Cook Talks Apple Intelligence and iPhone 16 Upgrade, Reports Confirm Launch Date

0

Highlight

  • Tim Cook hinted that Apple Intelligence will be a major draw for iPhone 16 upgrades.
  • All iPhone 16 models will feature 8GB of RAM, making them compatible with Apple Intelligence, unlike the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus.
  • A Chinese news outlet suggests the iPhone 16 series might be announced on September 10.
  • Bloomberg’s Gurman confirms the September launch despite the delay in rolling Apple Intelligence.

After Apple released its earnings report on Thursday, CEO Tim Cook joined a conference call with Wall Street analysts and some media folks.

When asked about how many people might upgrade to the iPhone 16 series, Cook kept quiet about the numbers.

However, he did mention that Apple’s new AI, called Apple Intelligence, is compelling enough to encourage users of older iPhones to consider upgrading.

“I would just say that with Apple Intelligence, we are very excited about the level of value that we’re going to provide to users, and we believe that that presents another reason for a compelling upgrade,” said Tim Cook during a post-earnings report call with the media.

Apple Intelligence Will Be Built into your Latest iPhones, iPads and Macs
Apple Intelligence Will Be Built into your Latest iPhones, iPads and Macs

Apple’s AI needs at least 8GB of RAM to function. Currently, only the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max meet this requirement.

But this year, all four new iPhone 16 models—iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max—will come with 8GB of RAM, making them compatible with Apple Intelligence.

If you have an iPhone 15 or iPhone 15 Plus and want to try out Apple’s latest AI features, you’ll need to upgrade to an iPhone 16 model, as those are the only ones supporting the new tech.

iPhone 16 Launch Date Leaked?

Ming-Chi Kuo Predicts Stable iPhone 16 Shipments, No Significant Increase
All iPhone 16 models will feature 8GB of RAM, making them compatible with Apple Intelligence

Amidst all the buzz regarding iPhone 16 series leaks and speculations, a Chinese news outlet has claimed to know exactly when the new series will be out.

CNMO Technology News from China claims the iPhone 16 will be revealed on September 10.

This date makes sense since Apple often holds its iPhone launch events on Tuesdays, like last year’s event on September 12.

However, CNMO’s track record with predictions isn’t well-known, so take this information with a grain of salt.

It’s possible they’re just making an educated guess.

September 10 is Tuesday, which is Apple“s favorite day for launching its iPhones.

Last year Apple launched the iPhone 15 series on September 12, which was also a Tuesday.

Only the iPhone 14 series didn’t follow trend in 2022 and launched on a Wednesday.

four models, including the iPhone 16 Ultra, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max, are expected to go on sale starting September 20.

Bloomberg’s Gurman Confirms iPhone 16 September Launch Despite Apple Intelligence Delay

“Apple Intelligence — a core feature of the iPhone 16 — won’t be ready until October. This time, though, Apple is taking a different tack and won’t hold back the new hardware until the services are ready. I’m told that the iPhone launch will occur around the same time as last year,” said Gurman.

In another update, we have Bloomberg’s technology journalist Mark Gurman reporting that Apple won’t be delaying the release of the new iPhone 16 models even though Apple Intelligence has been confirmed to be not launching until October.

It looks like Apple is not holding back and will be going on with the iPhone 16 September launch.

Last week, Apple Intelligence was updated to iOS 18.1, which means it didn’t make it into the initial iOS 18 release in September.

This new feature is expected to be a major draw for the upcoming iPhone 16 models.

The beta version of Apple Intelligence also rolled out last week, including some initial features like Writing Tools and Memory Generation for Photos.

It also introduced a new Siri interface, but many of the Siri upgrades and the ChatGPT integration are not available yet.

Other notable features like Genmoji and Image Playground are also not included in this beta version.

According to Apple’s report, iPhone sales brought in $39.3 billion for the three-month period ending June 29, down 1% from $39.7 billion for the same period in 2023.

At the same time, Tim Cook said in a conversation with analysts and journalists that the 15th series sold better than the 14th series over the same period.

  • The design should be similar to the iPhone 15, but with an Action button on all models and possibly a dedicated camera button.
  • The iPhone 16 series will probably feature the A17 Pro chip or the newer A18 Pro chip.
  • RAM is expected to be 8GB, with storage options starting at 256GB and going up to 1TB for the Pro models.

There is no official confirmation yet.

Q3. Is Apple Intelligence available for iPhone 14 Pro Max?

Answer. Apple users need to upgrade to the latest Apple devices—either the iPhone 15 Pro or an iPad with the newer M-series chip—to meet the requirements needed to run Apple Intelligence.

This means an older iPhone 14 Pro Max or iPhone 15 won’t support it.

Q4. Which Apple products have Apple Intelligence?

Answer. Apple Intelligence is compatible with the following devices –

  • iPhone 15 Pro Max A17 Pro.
  • iPhone 15 Pro A17 Pro.
  • iPad Pro M1 and later.
  • iPad Air M1 and later.
  • MacBook Air M1 and later.
  • MacBook Pro M1 and later.
  • iMac M1 and later.
  • Mac mini M1 and later.

Q5. Does the iPhone have ChatGPT integration?

Answer. Apple is currently partnering with OpenAI to incorporate ChatGPT into iOS 18, iPadOS 18 and MacOS Sequoia.

If you’re using Siri, for example, Apple’s virtual helper will be able to tap into ChatGPT’s expertise when needed to answer a specific question.

Q6. iPhone 16 Still Coming in September Despite Delayed Apple Intelligence Rollout. Details ?

Answer. Apple will launch the iPhone 16 series within its traditional September timeframe this year, despite Apple Intelligence set to be absent in the first public release of iOS 18.

Writing in his latest Power On newsletter, Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman says his sources tell him that the iPhone launch will occur around the same time as last year, with Tuesday, September 10 suggested as a possible launch day candidate.

Apple will ship the new iPhone lineup with its latest iOS 18 operating system, but users will not get Apple’s initial set of AI features, collectively dubbed Apple Intelligence, until the release of iOS 18.1 a few weeks later in October.

Apple and its investors are counting on Apple Intelligence to be a major draw that will attract new and upgrading iPhone customers, particularly since only the Pro models in the current iPhone 15 lineup are capable of powering the new features. But the company is not about to delay the launch of the iPhone 16 series just to coincide with the availability of Apple Intelligence.

Gurman notes that ahead of the 2011 launch of the iPhone, Apple did choose to postpone the device’s release from its then-usual June timing to October, in order to align it with the availability of iCloud and Siri, which were new online services at the time.

This year, however, Gurman does not see the delayed arrival of Apple Intelligence as being a big enough issue to change Apple’s hardware launch plans, especially given that the tools that will be rolled out first aren’t particularly game-chaining on their own.

Apple Intelligence features in the iOS 18.1 beta include Writing Tools for proofreading, rewriting, and summarizing text, a new Siri interface with Type to Siri, Mail and Messages app improvements like summarizing emails and Smart Reply, phone call recording, and audio transcription in Notes and other apps, and more.

Some of the more significant and compelling Apple Intelligence features that Apple plans to introduce at a later date include Image Playground, Genmoji, ChatGPT integration with Siri, priority notifications, and several other additions.

FAQs

Nothing Phone (2a) Plus VS Nothing Phone (2a) – Which One Should You Buy?

While the upgrades aren’t quite noteworthy, Nothing Phone (2a) Plus has gone with enhancements in the front camera, processing power and charging speed.

In the end, the verdict in Nothing Phone (2a) Plus vs Nothing Phone (2a) can’t be conclusive unless we consider the current price of both models.

Almost 5 months since its launch, Nothing Phone (2a) is currently priced at Rs 23,999 for the 128GB version without any bank offers on Flipkart.

On the other hand, the Nothing Phone (2a) Plus starts at the launch price of Rs 25,999 with offers.
