Apple’s product lineup for the year 2024 is turning out quite nice, as the tech giant had already rolled out earlier in the year both the new M3-powered MacBook Air and iPad Pro models.

However, one among these highly anticipated releases is still on the way—the powerful M4 MacBook Pro lineup, expected to land at a later date this year.

M4-Powered MacBooks Coming This Q4

Apple expected to launch M4 MacBook Pro lineup by end of 2024

Generally, industry analyst Ross Young has an impeccable record when supply-chain intel leaks are considered.

He said Apple would release new latest generation MacBook Pros with an M4 Chip around Q4 2024.

The launch will coincide perfectly for the holiday season shopping rush.

The report from Young aligns with earlier predictions made by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, who expected the M4 MacBook Pro to launch as early as the end of 2024 or in early 2025.

The latest lineup is going to include a base 14-inch MacBook Pro, probably with an M4 chip.

Higher variants are to be available in 14- and 16-inch variants, which would get them equipped with the much more powerful M4 Pro and M4 Max chips.

The new M4 chip is built on a more advanced 3-nanometer process and touts multi-core performance up to 25 percent higher than the M3 chip used by the latest MacBook Air.

M4 Mac Mini, OLED MacBooks Coming Later

New lineup to feature M4, M4 Pro, and M4 Max chips

Additionally, the Mac mini was supposed to arrive with M4 and M4 Pro options.

It was said to debut side by side with the refresh of the MacBook Pro.

Other Macs, however, won’t see M4 updates in their lineups through at least 2025, including the MacBook Air, Mac Studio, and Mac Pro.

Notably, while Apple is working on OLED display technology for its devices, OLED MacBook Pro models are unlikely to arrive until at least 2026.

M4 MAcbook Pro will run on macOS Sequoia and Apple Intelligence

The M4 MacBook Pro lineup will run on the newly introduced macOS Sequoia, which brings a host of productivity-enhancing features and improvements.

Notable additions include iPhone Mirroring—users’ iPhones appear directly on their Mac, so they can access and control them—and enhancements to Safari itself, including its new Highlights feature and a redesigned Reader mode.

With some serious performance gains touted by the M4 chip and needed productivity improvements that macOS Sequoia brings to the table, the next generation of MacBook Pros from Apple is sounding quite potent for professionals and power users alike.
