POCO X5 India launch will happen as early as next week. This comes after POCO India head Himanshu Tandon recently acknowledged that the company has been getting requests from fans to launch the POCO X5 in the country and that they are seriously evaluating this.
Earlier today, the executive confirmed that the POCO X5 launch will be happening soon.
He hasn’t mentioned a timeline.
POCO X5 originally debuted globally last month as a mid-range offering with 5G network support.
Separately, a report by Xiaomiui reveals that the internal MIUI build of POCO X5 (V13.0.1.0.SMPINXM) has surfaced.
As per the publication, the phone is expected to arrive with Android 12-based MIUI 13 out of the box.
POCO X5 global price is $249 (about Rs 20,500) and $299 (about Rs 25,000) for the 6GB/128GB model and 8GB/256GB storage version.
We expect the phone’s price in India to be under Rs 20,000 considering the POCO X5 Pro is available between Rs 20,000 to Rs 25,000.
The POCO X5 has a 6.67-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with 1080×2400 pixels resolution, 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, 1200nits peak brightness, and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 layer.
Powering the phone is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 SoC coupled with Adreno GPU.
The phone packs 6GB/8GB LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB/256GB UFS 2.2 storage that is further expandable via a microSD card. The phone runs on Android 12-based MIUI 13 custom skin out of the box.
There is a 5000mAh battery with 33W fast charging support, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, an IP53 rating for splash resistance, and an infrared sensor.
Connectivity features include 5G, 4G LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and a USB Type-C port for charging.
The phone measures 165.88×76.21×7.98mm and weighs 189 grams.
As for the cameras, the POCO X5 has three sensors on the back, including a 48MP primary main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and a 2MP macro shooter. There is a 13MP snapper on the front for selfies and video chats.
