The month long iQOO Battlegrounds Mobile India Series 2021 came to a nail-biting finish last night with Skylightz Gaming emerging winners. They are the first champions of the largest and first ever Battlegrounds Mobile Tournament conducted in India.

The winning team Skylightz Gaming takes home the coveted iQOO Battlegrounds Mobile India Series 2021 trophy along-with the prize money of a whopping INR 50 lakh, followed by TSM and Team XO securing second and third positions and winning INR 25 lakh and INR 10 lakh, respectively.

The iQOO Battlegrounds Mobile India Series 2021 was conducted online keeping in mind the current COVID scenario. Through the championship several individual players showcased tremendous resilience and skill to receive special individual awards. Godlneyooo was named the Most Valuable Player of the tournament and received a prize money of INR 1 lakh. SGXsaumrajiu received INR 50,000 for receiving The Lone Ranger award. He also received The Rampage Freak award winning another INR 50,000 for it. The Redeemer award was won by Godlzgod. He received a prize money of INR 50,000. The enthralling grand finale which was spread across four days witnessed the top 16 teams deliver their finest gameplay skills to win the coveted title of the first ever Battlegrounds Mobile Tournament in India. The Final day of the Grand Finale brought in some unexpected results. TSM managed to secure second position, while Team XO who was in the first position till the third day swapped places finishing third.

The tournament received an overwhelming response from Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) players and fans with 664K teams with A-lister teams such as Godlike Esports, OR Sports, Hyderabad Hydras, Revenant Esports, Reckoning Esports amongst others participating in the month-long championship. Esports enthusiasts showed tremendous interest in the tournament with the tournament receiving more than 199 million views on social media handles of Battlegrounds Mobile India and iQOO Esports official YouTube channel.

Apple wants employees to provide Covid 19 booster shot proof

As per the report from The Verge, the Cupertino-based tech giant Apple will require retail and corporate employees to provide proof of a Covid 19 booster shot, citing an internal email. Starting January 24, unvaccinated employees or those who haven’t submitted proof of vaccination will need negative Covid 19 tests to enter Apple workplaces, the report said. The Verge said it was not immediately clear if the testing requirement applies to both corporate and retail employees. Apple hasn’t officially confirmed any details on the matter yet to the media.

OnePlus has unveiled OnePlus 9RT 5G smartphone and OnePlus Buds Z2 in India. The smartphone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor along with LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. The phone, launched on January 14, 2022, has been priced at Rs 42,999 and Rs 46,999 for 8GB + 128GB and 12GB + 256GB variants respectively. Besides, the Buds Z2 true wireless stereo (TWS) earbuds come with active noise cancellation support. Priced at Rs 4,999, they will also be available from January 17, 2022.

Krafton sues Apple, Google, and Garena

PUBG-maker Krafton filed a big lawsuit in the Central District Court of California on January 10, 2022. It is suing the developer of two mobile games that it accuses of copying PUBG: Battlegrounds. The PUBG game developer alleges that Garena Online’s Free Fire and Free Fire Max games copy several copyrighted aspects of PUBG: Battlegrounds, including its game structure, in-game items, equipment, and locations.

Redmi, a sub-brand of Xiaomi, is geared up to launch its latest Redmi Note smartphone in India. The exact launch dates are not declared yet, but the company has started teasing the look officially.

The brand recently shared a teaser on Twitter highlighting the release of the latest  Redmi Note 11 series, and we’re reckoning it’s Redmi Note 11S. The label across the tweet is emphasizing the number 11 in roman and S in a not-so-cryptic manner. It is also showing quad cameras and a flat-edge design. Redmi is yet to announce the launch date and details in the market, but the tease is dropping hints that it’s going to be here soon.

South Korean tech giant Samsung has unveiled its latest tablet – Galaxy Tab A8 – in India. The newly launched tablet features a 10.5-inch WUXGA display with a 16:10 aspect ratio. Wearables brand Boult has launched a new budget TWS earbuds – AirBass Y1 – in India. It features up to 40 hours of battery life and fast charging support. According to the company, users can listen to music or take calls on a single earbud, with single-channel audio.
