Oppo is set to launch the upcoming Oppo Reno 16 series in China on May 25. The lineup will include the Oppo Reno 16 and Oppo Reno 16 Pro apart from the several other products the brand is expected to unveil. These include the Oppo Bubble accessory designed for the Reno 16 lineup, the Oppo Pad 6 tablet and the Oppo Enco Air 5s true wireless earbuds. The company is also expected to introduce a new colour variant of the Oppo Pad Air 5.
Anyhow, both Reno 16 smartphones have now appeared on the Oppo Shop website for pre-orders ahead of the official debut. And the listing has revealed a lot of key details including their official renders, colour options and storage variants.
According to the listing details surfacing only, the Oppo Reno 16 will be offered in three colour finishes including Heartbeat Star white, Galaxy Purple and Midnight Black.
The smartphone will arrive in several storage configurations i.e. 12GB RAM + 256GB storage, 12GB + 512GB, 16GB + 256GB, 16GB + 512GB and a top-end 16GB + 1TB version.
Meanwhile, the Oppo Reno 16 Pro will also launch in three shades named Heartbeat Star white, Dream Blue, and Midnight Black. However, the Pro model will be available in fewer memory options including 12GB + 256GB, 12GB + 512GB and 16GB + 512GB variants.
Leaks suggest that Oppo may introduce the Reno 16 lineup with two different flat-display sizes. The standard Reno 16 is expected to feature a compact 6.32-inch OLED display with 1.5K resolution support.
On the other hand, the Reno 16 Pro is tipped to come with a larger 6.78-inch OLED panel carrying the same 1.5K resolution along with LTPO technology for adaptive refresh rates.
Both smartphones are also rumoured to feature premium metal frames along with multiple colour finish options.
Under the hood, the Reno 16 Pro is expected to debut with the MediaTek Dimensity 9500s chipset and pack a large 7,000mAh battery. The standard Reno 16, meanwhile, is tipped to run on the MediaTek Dimensity 8550 processor and may house a 6,700mAh battery.
Both devices are expected to support 80W wired fast charging. Moreover, the Reno 16 Pro could also offer support for 50W wireless charging.
For photography, Oppo is said to equip the Reno 16 series with a triple rear camera setup headlined by a 200-megapixel Samsung HP5 primary sensor. The camera system is also expected to include a 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera and a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto lens for zoom shots.
