Vivo has officially announced the launch date of the upcoming Vivo S60 series in China. The company previously opened pre-bookings for the new smartphone lineup ahead of its debut. Alongside confirming the launch timeline, Vivo has started teasing several hardware and camera features of the upcoming devices. Here’s what we know so far.
According to the official teaser shared by the brand, the Vivo S60 series will launch in China on May 29. Current reports indicate that the lineup could include the Vivo S60 and Vivo S60e smartphones.
Vivo has additionally confirmed that the new Vivo TWS 5e earbuds will also be introduced in China on May 29 alongside the smartphones.
Notably, Vivo has not yet confirmed whether the rumoured Vivo S60 Pro Mini will also debut at the same event. It is still unclear if the device has been postponed or planned for a separate launch later.
The Vivo S60 series is expected to feature a fresh silver-white colour finish inspired by reflections seen on the sea during summer. Vivo claims the rear panel creates a flowing light effect that changes depending on the viewing angle.
Vivo says the series introduces a new Live Photo experience and describes it as one of the best live imaging systems currently available.
The series is also confirmed to support direct 4K Live Photo output. According to Vivo, the company has improved end-to-end processing efficiency, optimised memory usage, and added intelligent frame-rate temperature control. These upgrades are aimed at reducing heating, memory consumption, and performance-related issues commonly seen during 4K image capture.
Another newly announced feature is Starlight Live, which can reportedly identify bright highlights within scenes automatically to improve the overall atmosphere and visual quality of photos and videos.
The Vivo S60 series official teaser has confirmed the series phones to run on OriginOS 6 and comes with Blue River Smooth Engine. The series is teased to offer 5 years of long-lasting smoothness.
Leaks surrounding the standard Vivo S60 suggest that the smartphone could feature a 6.59-inch OLED display with 1.5K resolution support. The handset is also tipped to pack a large 7,200mAh battery with support for 90W fast charging.
For cameras, the Vivo S60 may include a Sony IMX8-series periscope telephoto lens. The smartphone is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset.
Reports also suggest the device could support magnetic accessories and arrive in multiple colour options including a pink variant. Other expected features include stereo dual speakers, an X-axis linear motor, an IR blaster and IP68/IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance.
