Motorola introduced the Moto Edge+ 2022 smartphone back in March 2022. The device was launched in the US market as a rebrand of the Moto X30.

Now, it looks like Motorola is prepping to introduce the Moto Edge+ 2022 sucessor soon in the form of the Moto Edge+ 2023. The upcoming Moto Edge+ 2023 is spotted on Google Play Console ahead of the launch.

The listing reveals the key specifications of the handset ahead of the official debut.

The Moto Edge+ 2022 was a rebrand of the MotoX30 when it launched in the US market and the same might happen with the Moto X40 as well.

The phone will have a 6.7-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a curved screen, a punch-hole cutout for the selfie snapper, a 165Hz refresh rate, 360Hz touch sampling rate, DC Dimming, HDR10+, Dolby Vision, DCI-P3 colour gamut, 1300nits brightness, and 10bit colours.

Powering the phone will be the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC paired with Adreno
GPU for graphics.

The chipset will be paired with 12GB LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB UFS 4.0 storage.

The phone runs on Android 13 OS out of the box.

The Moto Edge+ 2023 aka Moto Edge 40 will have a 4,600mAh battery with 125W fast wired and 15W wireless charging support.

As for the cameras, the Motorola Edge 40 is tipped to have triple cameras on the back, with a 50MP primary unit with OIS, a 50MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 12MP telephoto lens with 2x zoom. There is a 60MP unit on the front for selfies and video chats.

The phone is equipped with a three-dimensional liquid cooling system.

As per the details revealed by the Google PlayConsole listing, the upcoming Moto Edge+ 2023 will feature Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. The device will pack 12GB of RAM.

The handset will have a Full HD+ resolution and a punch-hole cutout which will house the selfie camera.
As for the software, this upcoming device will run Android 13 out of the box.

To recall, the same device was also listed on Bluetooth SIG Certification a few days back.

The certification revealed that the Moto X40 will be rebranded as the Moto Edge+ 2023 for the US market, and Moto Edge 40 Pro for the global market.

The Moto Edge+ 2023 will feature a 6.67-inch OLED display with a Full HD+ resolution and a 165Hz refresh rate. The device will have Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection.

Powering the handset under the hood there will be an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor accompanied with up to 12GB LDDR5 RAM and up to 512GB UFS 4.0 storage.

As for the optics purpose, the Edge+ 2023 will boast a triple-rear camera setup.

The camera module will include a 50MP primary camera with OlS support. The 50MP primary sensor will be accompanied by a 50MP ultra-wide-angle lens and a 12MP portrait lens. The smartphone will feature a 60MP frontside for the selfies and video-calling purpose.
