Google Pixel

If speculations are to be believed, it appears 2023 is going to be an eventful year for Google. After unveiling the updated Pixel line including the Pixel 7, Pixel 7 Pro, Google Pixel 6a, and the Pixel Watch in 2022, every smartphone enthusiast is all eyes and ears for next year’s revelations.

Even though there hasn’t been any official confirmation, there are hardly any bonus points for guessing that the Alphabet-owned company will be taking the Pixel line forward.

As per rumours, the year 2023 for Google will bring with it the Pixel 7a, Google Pixel Tablet, Pixel Fold, Pixel 8, Pixel 8 Pro, and Pixel Watch 2 as some of the (non)confirmed launches. Let’s take a look at what to expect from Google in 2023.

Google Pixel 7a

Google Pixel 7a will be a 6.1-inch OLED Screen display smartphone with 1080 x 2400 pixels resolution, 424 ppi and 90 Hz refresh rate.

To ensure high-end performance, the device will be powered by Google Tensor Chipset, Octa Core Processor, 6 GB RAM and 128 GB Inbuilt Memory. For photography support, Pixel 7a is going for a dual rear camera setup with a 12.2 MP + 12 MP sensor along with an 8 MP selfie shooter.

Expected to be launched in early 2023, the Google Pixel 7a price in India is rumoured to be ₹34,990.

Google Pixel Tablet

Google Pixel Tablet

Google has already announced the Pixel Tablet and it also is known to be coming out in the New Year. Even though the official launch date is yet to be announced, this 10.95-inch upcoming tablet is also expected to have a Pro variant coming out in near future.

The tablet will most likely feature a Google Tensor G2, Octa Core, 2.85 GHz Processor, 6 GB RAM, 128 GB inbuilt, and Android v13 OS. Targeting the mid-range tablet segment, the Google Pixel Tablet price is expected to be around ₹39,999.

The products in Google’s 2023 lineup that everyone is anticipating are the successors of the Pixel 7 line.

The Pixel 8 series is expected to have an official arrival by fall 2023. After the success of the Pixel 6 and then Pixel 7 lines, these next launches will most likely have a higher flagship-grade design and performance while many bloggers have expressed hope that Googe will be addressing the previous complaints of poor battery support.

It is expected that Google Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro prices will be around ₹53,990 and ₹70,990 respectively.

Google Pixel Watch 2

Pixel Watch 2

So, we just had Google Pixel Watch hitting the stores in October 2022 and it might seem too soon for an upgraded version but speculations suggest Google Pixel Watch 2 is on the cards in early 2023.

A sequel to the Pixel Watch, which received a decent response from customers upon launch, will definitely take forward the feature combination one notch higher.

We don’t have much information about the features of this upgrades smartwatch yet but we are hoping Google will stick to Fitbit and Google Assistant integration along with reducing the current watch’s chunky bezels.

Google Pixel Fold

Pixel Foldable

Google will be seen entering the foldable phone segment with Google Pixel Fold in 2023 and this is going to be the smartphone that will have everyone talking.

No spec or feature is out officially yet, Pixel Fold will likely sport a 7.69-inch foldable dual display with 1440 x 3120 px resolution.

As per speculations, other features in this Google’s first foldable phone will include a Google Tensor G2, Octa Core, 2.85 GHz Processor, 12 GB RAM, 128 GB inbuilt and 5000 mAh Battery with 30W Fast Charging. Moreover, the Pixel Fold price is expected to be around ₹99,999.

5 Things We Want to See from Xiaomi in 2023

0
Xiaomi in 2023
Redmi Note 11SE

After gaining the top spot briefly in 2021, Xiaomi again slipped down to the third spot below Apple and Samsung in 2022 thanks to pandemic aftereffects and some misses from the brand itself. Xiaomi’s product line, however, has been impressive throughout with multiple new launches in 2022.

There is the Redmi Note 11 making a mark for itself in the mid-range smartphone segment, the Xiaomi 12S Ultra with an impressive primary camera sensor, and a range of Poco smartphones hitting different price segments.

Xiaomi, even after maintaining a strong foothold in the smartphone market since its first appearance still has a long way to go as a brand with scope for improvement in software, flagship devices, smartphone pricing and more. As we enter a new year, here are 5 things we want to see from Xiaomi in 2023.

Workout on the Pricing of The Flagship Smartphones

Xiaomi started off as a brand with pocket-friendly flagship smartphones and continued the trend for years. The Mi 9 was unveiled in 2019 at ₹41,490 (now for ₹39,490) competing with Samsung Galaxy S10e launched in the same period at ₹ 62032.55 (now retailing at ₹ 44,990).

The same brand this year has changed its strategy to an extent that a rather standard Xiaomi 12 price at the time of launch was ₹ 62032, while some of Samsung’s best handsets such as the Samsung Galaxy S22 and the Google Pixel 7 were priced at ₹ 66173 and ₹ 49609 respectively.

In 2023, we truly hope Xiaomi as a smartphone brand works out on the pricing of the flagship smartphones and goes in with a little more aggressive pricing approach.

Let the Xiaomi Foldable Smartphones Enter the Global Chat

We have been hearing about it for a while, maybe it’s time to finally let it see the light of day. It’s not like Xiaomi’s foldable smartphones are out of reach for everyone.

The brand has already released Xiaomi Mix Fold 2 with a Chinese market-only approach in August 2022. The fact that Xiaomi hasn’t yet allowed any of its foldable devices outside China is what we are hoping will change in the coming year.

Xiaomi Mix Fold 3, scheduled to be launched in 2023, could be the device to land in the global smartphone market.

Extend the Update Policy to Mid-Rangers

The Xiaomi 11T series of 2021 was the first release where Xiaomi came up with its extended update policy. As per the policy, the brand offered three OS updates and four years of security patches.

Apart from Xiaomi 11T and Xiaomi 11T Pro, the extended update policy was also available for other handsets such as the Xiaomi 12 series.

However, Xiaomi needs to extend this to mid-range devices as well. For example, Samsung is offering extended updates to even the Galaxy A50 series smartphones.

Get the Product Lineup in Order

The Xiaomi product portfolio is something that the brand urgently needs to work on and we hope 2023 is going to be the year when they do. The brand is known for offering region-specific smartphones, rebadged handsets, and multiple smartphones with almost no differences in the spec sheet.

With more than a dozen handsets launched under Redmi Note 11 series in 2022, Xiaomi’s product lineup went a lot more convoluted. We are hoping the brand gets the product lineup in order in 2023.

Introduce a Fresh Android Skin

MIUI must have a better and more original visual identity for it to even stand a chance amongst its rivals. The Android skin shared extensive similarities with the iOS in terms of appearance and navigation that it mostly feels like a copied version.

Samsung One UI and Oppo Color OS have already proved that it’s very much possible to imbibe elements than making a direct copy of iOS.

In 2023, we would like Xiaomi to provide a different UI experience along with some exciting functional changes.

India has made it official that USB Type-C Charging will become mandatory for all smartphones and other devices from March 2025, which was officially announced a couple of days back by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS).

BIS has also set quality benchmarks for the charging port, while the Consumer Affairs department has asked all device manufacturers to put in their products for USB Type-C chargers, while the government brings in two types of common charging ports.

Highlights

  • The European Union Commission (EUC) had proposed a legislation in 2021 to establish a common charging port for all electronic devices.
  • EUC had announced the legislation to curb consumer inconvenience and e-waste that had become rampant over the past few years.
  • Central Consumer Protection Authority also formed a subgroup comprising of educational institutions and industry representatives so that the role could be enacted very soon.

India to Make USB Type-C Charging Compulsory for All Devices from March 2025

Following a major legislative proposal from the European Union Commission (EUC) to have a single charging port for all electronic devices back in 2021, India recently announced that all USB Type-C port will be made compulsory for all smartphones from March 2025.

It was the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) that took the decision as it mandated the use of a single charging port for all devices as it feels that the new rule will prove to be a quality benchmark for the charging port, for which the Consumer Affairs department has instructed all device manufacturers to implement.

Following BIS’s decision, the central government will soon be coming up with two types of charging ports for smartphones and other wearable devices as the BIS has already notified all standards for Type-C ports.

March 2025 will be the deadline that the government has chosen after massive consultations with industry stakeholders, educational institutions, and representatives as the Central Consumer Protection Authority set up a sub-group for studying the feasibility of a uniform charging port.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has claimed that a uniform charging port will be a fruitful steps towards ‘Lifestyle for Environment’ (LiFE) mission, which was launched by him at the 2021 UN Climate Change Conference in Glasgow, Scotland.

How Can Your Wifi Router Measure your breathing ?

Wifi Router

Breathing Problems While Sleeping Will Be Long Gone Cause, Soon!

Introduction

Wi-fi routers are a serious blessing to humankind and not only monitor our day-to-day activity by helping in the oscillation of the data but now wi-fi routers will also help us to have a good night’s sleep.

Thanks to scientists at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) that have recently engineered a way to detect the breathing uneasiness one experiences while sleeping from sleep apnea to sleep groaning via a Wi-Fi router that was installed with the least motive for detecting our breathing pattern.

The quality matters the most and this applies to the breathing pattern while sleeping and the wi-fi router deployed in the house. Now again the apprise of the query ‘HOW?’ For that, read ahead and find your way through this discovery.

Also Read: How to Share WiFi Password from iPhone Step-to-Step Guide

It is next to a miracle for diagnosing if one had a problem breathing during their sleep, but NIST’s scientists propose otherwise and claim the possibility and the device making it possible is a Wi-Fi router.

In a nutshell, Wi-Fi systems broadcast radio frequencies continuously that travel through everything around the house, including people. The router alerts the connected device of the users when it detects a minute shift in breathing pattern than usual.

Why this plan now?

During the outburst of the Covid-19 virus that was seriously multiplying the breathing problems among the population. NIST came up with the plan to tailor an application out of the existing devices in the house and not go for the tedious path of manufacturing something during the challenging time.

Wifi Router

A journey to BreatheSmart

Science and Engineering Labs of the FDA Office with the group of coders and research associate Susanna Mosleh gauged the breathing pattern and rate of members in a room and coordinated it with the existing Wi-Fi routers.

To successfully achieve the same the team used channel state information (CSI) that will help in signaling the connected devices, such as laptops or smartphones, from the router in diagnosing the breathing abnormality in the person while sleeping.

On one side NIST notes down the detailed features of Wifi router frequencies and recognizes how the signal changes with some pattern changes of breathing by gauging the passing signals through the person.

These changes in breathing patterns do not affect the network system but the abnormality of the breathing can be captured.

For getting a precise lookout, the team collected all the necessary data, including a special manikin replicating fluctuating breathing conditions, an off-the-shelf Wi-Fi router, and a receiver.

And to give a proper shape to the collected data the team developed a learning algorithm called BreatheSmart that further assists in giving signals if the breathing patterns differ even slightly.

What can be predicted for the program in the future

To explain the working of the NIST towards developing BreatheSmart a coder from the team stated that “All the ways we’re gathering the data is done on software on the access point (in this case, the router), which could be done by an app on a phone. This work tries to lay out how somebody can develop and test their own algorithm. This is a framework to help them get relevant information.”

Conclusion

With this great innovation, we wonder what should be the prefix for technology that will meet the excellence of this booming strata.

Elon Musk lose $200 billion
Elon Musk

Elon Musk has created history of sorts by becoming the first ever person to lose a whopping $200 billion as Tesla shares have hit rockbottom and has wiped out billions of dollars, due to which there is a huge crisis looming over the automotive giant.

This is after the Twitter CEO became the second person ever to amass a jaw dropping fortune of more than $200 billion in January 2021, which is mere months after Jeff Bezos did the same.

Highlights

  • Twitter’s new chief, Elon Musk, has lost close to $200 billion.
  • He has become the first person in the history to lose the whopping amount,
  • Tesla’s shares declined after Musk acquired Twitter in a $44 billion deal.

Elon Musk is the First Person to Lose $200 billion as Tesla Shares Plummet

Elon Musk has been constantly springing up in discussions in the past few months ever since he took over as the new CEO of Twitter and drastically changing the landscape of social media altogether.Elon Musk lose $200 billion

Recently, he became the second ever person to amass more than a $200 billion personal fortune in January 2021, after Jeff Bezos, Amazon president, and therefore became one of the richest persons on the planet.

However, the Tesla/Twitter CEO too has created a history of sorts, although not one that he should be proud of as he has lost more than $200 billion from Tesla’s net worth as the company’s shares have plummeted like anything, with little chance of recovery.

The huge loss has brought down Elon Musk’s net worth to $137 billion after Tesla saw its shares fall abysmally low in the past few weeks, which includes a massive 11% drop on December 27, 2022.

In 2022 itself, Musk had topped the Forbes’ annual list of billionaires for the very first time after ousting Jeff Bezos, while his fortunes’ skyrocketed to $340 billion in November 2021 and sometime later, ranked 31st in the Forbes list of, as the stock shares in Tesla were at $72.24.

To add to his woes, Musk is also facing international scrutiny for his hands-on management at Twitter headquarters where he has completely changed the work culture by firstly firing 11,000 employees soon after taking over, suspended journalists who cover his companies and write against him, no longer regulates the misinformation being spread on Covid-19.

Musk did not stop there as he has recently fired janitors at the headquarters in San Francisco while in parallel, Tesla is offering American buyers a discount of $7,500 on some of its models and reduced production in Shanghai.

Jio And Airtel Plans

In the recent course of news, it was revealed that the Government of India made the 5G network available for full-fledged operations. And gaining the advantage of arriving with a variety of the facility with upgraded network connectivity, Jio and Airtel have rolled out some premium and some economical plans.

The country has vividly envisioned a digitally updated and strong ecosystem. Moreover, these two big telecommunication companies of India have made this network possible by connecting the fast pace life with the superior connectivity network and even given the choices to the users to choose the best plan for themselves from the given limited yet sufficient set of plans for their 5G enabled smartphones.

To recall

There is also cutthroat competition between the two biggest telecommunication companies after the Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi inaugurated and welcomed the 5G services and operations in India.

Furthermore, the plans offered by both are quite intriguing; however, polarizing the users.

Talking about the plans related to 5G networks. Currently, there are limited but promising and excellent connectivity and operation services with of course the uber-fast 5G network.

And this further discussion may help you to make your decision on which plan to pick but we are not doing a jio Vs Airtel challenge as both the telecommunication companies are here with the motive of absolute satisfaction of the users.

The only requirement from the user’s end is to own a smartphone that is compatible with the services.

Airtel launching 5G network

Jio And Airtel Plans

On 1st October, Airtel rolled out its 5G network operations. People grabbed the offers laid down by the company at the drop of the hat owing to its vast goodwill.

Airtel already being a star performer in providing great network connectivity services with network boosters deployed at some spots made people purchase the 5G plans quickly.

Airtel started by launching its 5G services across eight metropolitan cities of India, that are Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Kolkata, Chennai, Hyderabad, Varanasi, and Gurugram.

Starting with Jio plans, which have arrived with an initial price of INR 239 with unlimited 5G data and up to 1Gbps network speed. Additionally, this 5G plan is available to Prepaid and postpaid plans leaving no space of concern for the users owning a compatible smartphone with a 5G network.

Whereas, we can see Airtel making some appreciable moves for its users having a smartphone complimenting and supporting 5G network connectivity and 4G sim cards as the company has declared that the Airtel 5G plan will be accessible to the users at the equivalent price as the 4G plans.

The premium offers are yet to roll out and there is strong anticipation that the Airtel 5G premium plans will not further be of the same price as the 4G premium plans and might see fluctuation in the price of the plan.

Conclusion

The plans from Airtel and jio are interesting and equally worth considering. It’s too soon to say anything about the degree of satisfaction received from 5G network services.
