Xiaomi India may lay off some employees as company plans to bring headcount below 1000 amid government scrutiny, market slump: Report

0

HIGHLIGHTS

* Xiaomi India is reportedly cutting its workforce to bring its headcount to under 1000.
* According to an Economic Times report, the company has reportedly laid off over 30 employees in the last week or so.
* According to the report, Xiaomi India reportedly had around 1,500 workers at the start of 2023.

Xiaomi India is reportedly laying off more people in an operational rejig.
According to an Economic Times report, the company has laid off more than 30 employees in the last week.

As per the report, Xiaomi India, which had around 1,400 to 1,500 employees at the beginning of 2023, is planning to reduce its headcount to under 1,000.
The company is expected to let go of more employees in the coming weeks.

Xiaomi India is reportedly planning to reduce its workforce to under 1,000 employees due to organizational restructuring, a decline in market share, and increased scrutiny from government agencies.

Xiaomi India

According to a report by the Economic Times Xiaomi India, which employed approximately 1,400-1,500 employees at the beginning of 2023, has recently laid off around 30 employees and may lay off additional workers in the future.

According to the report, Xiaomi India has downsized its workforce in order to enhance operational efficiency and respond to shifting market dynamics. Due to a decline in market share, the company is actively reviewing its organizational structure and resource allocation strategies.

Meanwhile recently the Enforcement Directorate (ED) issued a show-cause notice to Xiaomi Technology India Private Limited, its Chief Financial Officer Sameer Rao, former Managing Director Manu Jain, as well as three banks on Friday, May 9.
The notice came in light of alleged violations of the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA), with illegal remittances amounting to a staggering Rs 5,551.27 crore.

According to officials cited by news agency PTI, the ED initiated the action against Xiaomi India and its key executives based on their investigation into the company’s financial activities.

Additionally, the Chinese electronics giant has also partnered with homegrown Dixon Tech to locally manufacture Mi LED TVs.

Xiaomi India Reportedly Fires 30 Employees to Reduce Headcount

Xiaomi India

According to the report by Economic Times, Xiaomi India had around 1,500 employees at the start of the year. However, the company seems to be trying to reduce the headcount to under 1,000.
To this extent, the company has reportedly fired around 30 employees in the last week. And if the report is to be believed, more layoffs will come in the coming weeks.

The report also cites a Xiaomi spokesperson saying that these new job cuts are because of Xiaomi India’s declining market share. The company believes it is losing market in India due to “internal organisational issues.”

Another reason is that the Indian organisational restructuring plans and authority are centralised at the Chinese headquarters. The company is now changing its business outlook and has reportedly “empowered the local Indian leadership.”

While the company has plans to hand pink slips to more employees over the coming weeks, the report suggests that immediate layoffs are not on the cards.

Xiaomi India

This is because the leadership is reportedly under pressure to identify underperforming employees within the organisation. The company is said to lay off or retain employees based on their individual performance assessments.

Notably, Manu Kumar Jain, Global VP and face of Xiaomi India, called it quits after nine years with the company earlier this year. Jain’s exit came when the company was under scrutiny for tax evasion and losing the top spot in the smartphone market to Samsung, according to a Canalys research report.

Moreover, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) issued a show cause notice to Xiaomi India to probe illegal remittance of 5,551.27 crores earlier this month.

It seems that these were the events that got the ball rolling for Xiaomi India to consider an organisational restructuring. Xiaomi India is actively reviewing various strategies to optimise resource allocation and streamline the organisational structure.

Xiaomi India sees major employee reshuffle; Headcounts Reduce to about 1000 from 1500

Xiaomi India

Xiaomi, the Chinese tech giant is severely reshuffling their employees in India in recent times. The headcount now stands at about 1000, which was about 1400 to 1500 previously.

According to reports, the past week saw Xiaomi India let go of about 30 people.
This comes in as a response to Xiaomi experiencing market share decline and scrutiny from the local government.
Reports are further suggestive of the fact, that more employees will follow in the near future.

The year 2023, saw Xiaomi India cutting off employees since the year started. Although the news doesn’t come in as a surprise to the market, the company is of the opinion that they will hire back employees when the time and need arises.

Xiaomi India spokesperson responded to Economic Times, “As with any company, we take headcount decisions based on the market’s state and business projections.”

Additional statements by a senior executive brought to light that the brand’s leadership team was requested to designate a part of the team for a performance review. This review would clear the employee’s way for termination based on their individual performance.

Xiaomi is one of the tech companies, which was offering employment opportunities to an appreciative number of individuals. The brand’s present move would have repercussions on the employees being cut off.

It hasn’t been stated yet what the brand is doing to ensure further security of these employees.

Faqs

1) Xiaomi India staff cut to below 1,000 amid government scrutiny, market slump: Report

Ans) Xiaomi India employed roughly 1,400 to 1,500 employees at the start of 2023 and around 30 people have been fired in the last week.

Xiaomi India is slashing its workforce to less than 1,000 employees as part of a restructuring process, the Economic Times (article beyond paywall) reported on Thursday. The cost-cutting measures come amid a slump in market share accompanied by increasing scrutiny from government agencies, the report stated, quoting past and present employees.

Last week, the Chinese smartphone brand sacked around 30 workers out of the nearly 1,400 to 1,500 staff it employed in the beginning of 2023. The company is likely to lay off more people in the coming months, the report added.

Decisions regarding the rejig and changes to internal structures were in the hands of the Chinese parent, the report said. The move aims to improve operational efficiency, streamline its organisational structure and optimise resource allocation. The headcount has steadily decreased since the beginning of the year amid a review of the company strategies.

Citing a senior Xiaomi executive, the report added that the top leadership had designed a performance improvement plan (PIP) based on which non-performing employees could be fired.

“As with any company, we take headcount decisions based on the market’s state and business projections,” the report quoted Xiaomi in a statement, adding that the firm continues to hire talent ‘when and where needed’.

Xiaomi India’s shipments dropped to 5 million in the first quarter of 2023 from 7-8 million a year ago. After being the top smartphone brand in India for 20 straight quarters, it fell to the third rank behind Samsung and Vivo with a market share of 16%.

Earlier in June, the Enforcement Directorate issued showcause notices to Xiaomi India, its officials and three banks under the Foreign Exchange Management Act for alleged foreign exchange violation of more than ₹5,551 crore. The notices were issued to Manu Kumar Jain, former MD, and Sameer B Rao, director and chief financial officer.

2) Xiaomi India begins layoffs and restructuring to ‘streamline operations’: Report

Ans) Xiaomi India, the popular Chinese smartphone brand, is undergoing a significant reorganisation as it faces challenges such as a decline in market share, increased scrutiny from government agencies, and a need to streamline its operations. According to several current and former employees who spoke to Economic Times, Xiaomi India has embarked on a headcount reduction strategy that aims to bring its workforce down to less than 1,000 employees.

At the beginning of 2023, Xiaomi India employed approximately 1,400 to 1,500 individuals. However, in recent weeks, the company has already laid off around 30 employees, with expectations of further job cuts in the months ahead, as stated by the aforementioned employees.

The decision to reduce its workforce is seemingly part of Xiaomi India’s broader efforts to adapt to the changing market dynamics and improve operational efficiency. With a slump in market share, the company is evaluating ways to optimise its organisational structure and allocate resources more effectively.

3) Xiaomi India cuts jobs amid market slump, staff reduced to less than 1000: Report

Ans) Xiaomi India is reducing its workforce to below 1,000 employees due to a restructuring within the organization, a decline in market share, and increased scrutiny from government agencies, according to a report by Economic Times.

As per the report from the publication, Xiaomi India, previously employing approximately 1,400-1,500 individuals at the beginning of 2023, has recently terminated around 30 employees, with the possibility of additional layoffs in the upcoming months.

Reportedly, Xiaomi India’s move to downsize its workforce appears to be a strategic response to the shifting dynamics of the market and a step towards enhancing operational efficiency. In light of a decline in market share, the company is actively reviewing strategies to streamline its organizational structure and optimize resource allocation.

4) What are Xiaomi reviewing company strategy?

Ans) The Chinese parent company of Xiaomi, a popular smartphone brand in India, is reportedly making decisions regarding internal restructuring and changes. According to the company, the goal of this move is to enhance operational efficiency, streamline the organisational structure, and optimise resource allocation. Throughout the year, the company has been reviewing its strategies, leading to a steady decline in its workforce.

5) How is Xiaomi India in hot waters?

Ans) In the first quarter of 2023, Xiaomi India experienced a drop in shipments, with only five million units sold compared to 7-8 million units the previous year. This decline has caused Xiaomi to lose its position as the top smartphone brand in India, a title it held for 20 consecutive quarters. It now ranks third, trailing behind Samsung and Vivo, with a market share of 16 per cent.

Furthermore, in June, the Enforcement Directorate, India’s economic intelligence agency, issued show-cause notices under the Foreign Exchange Management Act to Xiaomi India, its officials, and three banks. The allegations involve foreign exchange violations amounting to more than ₹5,551 crore. Show cause notices were served to Manu Kumar Jain, the former Managing Director, and Sameer B Rao, the Director and Chief Financial Officer of the company.

6) What is India’s ties with China ‘abnormal’?

Ans) Xiaomi India finds itself sitting in the crosshairs of deteriorating ties between India and China. India’s External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar earlier in April said that India’s ties with China were “abnormal” due to a violation of border management agreements by Beijing.

Faqs

1) What is difference between Zenfone 10 vs Galaxy S23 in a nutshell?

Ans) 5.9-inch display on the Zenfone 10 vs 6.1 on the Galaxy S23
The Zenfone 10 is narrower, but the Galaxy S23 is thinner and shorter
Telephoto camera on the Galaxy S23
The Zenfone 10 has a larger battery and faster charging (4,300 vs 3,900 mAh, 30W vs 25W)
3.5mm headphone jack on the Zenfone 10
144Hz “gaming” mode on the Zenfone 10 (no LTPO, though)

2) What Is Design and Display Quality of Asus Zenfone 10 & Galaxy S23?

Ans) There’s a conceptual difference in design between the Zenfone 10 and the Galaxy S23. The former tries to break out of the traditional glass sandwich with a very interesting back (which feels rubbery and papery), while the latter goes for that thin slice of glass-metal-glass.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but for most people, the Galaxy S23 could subjectively be the prettier and more stylish device. That being said, the Zenfone 10 offers something unique in this glass and metal jungle the modern smartphone space is in at the moment, so it’s down to personal preference.

What could be said objectively is that the back of the Zenfone 10 scratches more easily, while the back of the Galaxy S23 is prone to shattering and is a fingerprint magnet. You make your own choice here, but the Zenfone 10 could be used without a case, and that’s certainly a pro in our book.

In terms of weight and size, the Zenfone 10 and the Galaxy S23 are much closer than one might imagine. Both phones weigh around 170 grams, and their dimensions are quite similar as well, with differences of about one or two millimeters. The Galaxy S23 is shorter, slimmer, but wider, while the Zenfone 10 is narrower, a tad taller, and also thicker.

Even though the Zenfone 10’s screen is made by Samsung and calibrated by Pixelworks, there are some clear differences with the Galaxy S23 here. Samsung’s flagship offers a tad more screen estate at 6.1 inches, the display is LTPO, which means it can go between 48 and 120 Hz; and its peak brightness is also better at 1,750 nits.

The Zenfone 10, on the other hand, comes with a 5.9-inch panel that has an advertised peak brightness of 1,100 nits and can only switch between fixed display refresh rates, namely 60, 90, and 120 Hz. In gaming scenarios, the Zenfone 10 can overdrive to 144 Hz, though, which is a helpful feature if you’re into mobile gaming.

Biometrics deserve some words here, for sure, as this is another conceptual difference between the Galaxy S23 and the Zenfone 10. The Galaxy uses an under-display fingerprint scanner, while the Zenfone 10 relies on a capacitive side-mounted one. It’s another case of personal preference, but in our experience, the Zenfone performs faster and is more accurate when it comes to unlocking the device with your finger.

3) How is Performance and Software of Asus Zenfone 10 & Galaxy S23?

Ans) In terms of hardware, both the Zenfone 10 and the Galaxy S23 share very similar silicon, namely the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. Both phones start at 8GB/128GB memory configurations, but the Zenfone 10 can be purchased with up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. It costs more, but the option is there nonetheless. There’s no microSD card expansion slot on either of the two.

Synthetic benchmark scores are very close between these two, which is perfectly understandable, and in real life scenarios, you won’t be able to notice any lag, stutter, or drop in performance on either device.

Both the Galaxy S23 and the Zenfone 10 come with Android 13 onboard, and they will soon get the upcoming big Android 14 upgrade. The Zenfone coats Google’s mobile OS with the velvety hands of the ZenUI, a very subtle and pretty helpful overlay, while the Galaxy relies on the OneUI interface, a more customized and generally different experience.

The Zenfone 10 allows you to choose from the ZenUI experience or stock Android, while the Galaxy S23 kinda forces the OneUI on you, so that’s a point for Asus. On the other hand, if you’re coming from Samsung’s ecosystem, this one might be a pro in your book.

One big advantage for camp Samsung here is the software support situation. The Korean company has committed to four years of major Android updates, while the Zenfone 10 will only receive two new Android versions.

4) How is Camera of Asus Zenfone 10 & Galaxy S23?

Ans) Here lies one of the biggest differences between these two phones and probably a deciding factor for many users. The Galaxy S23 comes with a dedicated telephoto camera, while the Zenfone 10 relies on digital zoom.

The main and ultrawide cameras on both phones are very similar, at least on paper, both use 50 MP sensors with similar apertures and sensor sizes. We’re in the age of computational photography, though, so it’s time to see how these two perform in real life conditions.

5) What is Asus Zenfone 10 review?

Ans) Pros

Compact size
Top performance
Great battery life
Very customisable software
Headphone jack

Cons

Camera is not top tier
Only two years of Android updates
Hard to type on small screen
30W charging is slow

Our Verdict

The Asus Zenfone 10 is a decent phone with a small screen, top-end specs, and all the hardware and software features you could ask for, but the camera and software support aren’t good enough.

Asus is best known for its laptops and gaming gear, but each year it also releases a premium-spec smartphone under the Zenfone name.

The Zenfone 10 is the latest iteration, and it’s much like 2022’s Zenfone 9: an Android phone marketed as a small, compact device with an eye catching design, top-end specs, and thoughtful software.

For the most part, the Zenfone 10 is all those things, though it’s not the smallest phone around. It’s taller than the iPhone 13 mini and iPhone SE and is roughly the same dimensions as an iPhone 14 but with a smaller screen.

Don’t get me wrong, Asus has a good phone on its hands here – it ticks practically every possible box on the spec sheet. In doing so the Zenfone 10 ends up doing everything pretty well, but its display and camera aren’t top drawer.

0 seconds of 10 minutes, 6 seconds

6) How is the Design & build of Asus Zenfone 10?

Ans) Narrow design
Paper-feel back
Headphone jack

Asus has not changed much of the look of the Zenfone 10 from the Zenfone 9. In fact, it’s exactly the same dimensions at 146.5 x 68.1 x 9.4mm. That’s smaller than many of the biggest phones out there, but it’s not the smallest.

The iPhone 13 mini is 131.5 x 64.2 x 7.7mm and the Samsung Galaxy S23 is 146.3 x 70.9 x 7.6mm – both are thinner and shorter than the Zenfone. Heck, even the regular iPhone 14 is 146.7 x 71.5 x 7.8mm, only 0.2mm taller and 0.1mm thicker than the Zenfone 9.

I only labour this point because Asus markets the Zenfone 10 as some one-handed mini phone miracle, but it’s very similarly sized to other globally available high-end handsets.

7) How are the Screen & speakers of Asus Zenfone 10?

Ans) ”Small’ 5.9in screen
Up to 144Hz for gaming
Dual stereo speakers
The Zenfone 10 has a 5.92in OLED 2400x1080p display. It’s quite skinny with a 20.4:9 aspect ratio, which makes it easier to hold in one hand and doomscroll.

It has a maximum refresh rate of 144Hz. This is higher than the 120Hz seen on most high-end phones such as the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra and is a spec usually found on gaming phones, which makes sense as the Zenfone can only hit 144Hz in supported games.

Otherwise, you can select 60-, 90-, or 120Hz, or ‘auto’ that switches between these three to save battery depending on what you’re doing.

It’s a good display, and noticeably pokier than, say, an iPhone 14, as it’s narrower than that and many other compact rivals.

I didn’t miss having a higher resolution given it’s quite a small screen by modern standards. I wish it went a little brighter though – it’s capable of 1,100 nits at peak brightness but Asus says it only has 800 nits of outdoor readable brightness. The screen is hard to read in daylight.

The dual stereo speakers are nothing to write home about. They can get loud enough for podcasts, but given the smallness of the phone they aren’t very full, and it can get quite tinny at loud volumes.

8) How is the Battery & charging of Asus Zenfone 10?

Ans) Excellent longevity
Slow 30W wired charging
Excellent software charging options
From slight disappointment with the camera to being bowled over with battery life. I don’t know what wizardry Asus is doing here, but the Zenfone 10 has no right lasting this long considering it’s running the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and only has a 4300mAh battery.

Other premium phones like the Galaxy S23 Ultra have the same chip but barely eke out a day’s power on 5000mAh batteries.

9) What is the Price & availability of Asus Zenfone 10 ?

Ans) The Asus Zenfone 10 costs from £749.99/€799. It’s available to pre-order now in the UK direct from Asus until 31 July.

The phone is coming to the US with a Q3 release planned. There’s no confirmed price or exact release date yet, though.

European pricing pitches the phone as a premium device close that undercuts the $799/£849/€799 Samsung Galaxy S23 and the $799/£849/€1,019 iPhone 14. It’s around the same price as the $699/£729/€849 OnePlus 11, but I think the OnePlus is a better buy for its superlative cameras, software support, and charging speeds unless you really want the compact form factor.

FAQs

Q1. How do I choose the right earphone fit for me?

Answer. Choosing the right earphone fit is essential for comfort and sound quality. Try different sizes of eartips provided with your earphones to find the one that fits securely and comfortably in your ears. A good fit should provide a seal to block out external noise and enhance bass response.

Q2. What is the difference between in-ear and over-ear headphones?

Answer. In-ear headphones, also known as earphones or earbuds, fit directly into the ear canal, providing a compact and portable option. Over-ear headphones, on the other hand, encompass the ears with cushioned cups, offering enhanced noise isolation and often a more immersive sound experience.

Q3. What is the significance of driver size in earphones?

Answer. The driver size refers to the diameter of the driver unit within the earphone. Larger driver sizes generally indicate better bass response and overall sound quality, but it’s important to note that other factors, such as the design and tuning, also contribute to the audio performance.

Q4. Are wireless earphones better than wired ones?

Answer. The choice between wireless and wired earphones depends on personal preference and specific needs. Wireless earphones provide convenience and freedom from tangled cables, while wired ones often offer higher fidelity and do not require battery charging. Consider factors such as usage scena

Q5. How can I clean and maintain my earphones?

Answer. To clean your earphones, gently wipe the exterior with a soft, lint-free cloth. Avoid using liquids or harsh cleaning agents. For the eartips, detach them (if possible) and clean them separately with mild soap and water. Allow them to dry completely before reattaching. Regularly inspect the cable for any damage or fraying and store your earphones in a protective case when not in use.

HIGHLIGHTS

* Nothing is making the Phone (2) official on July 11th.
* It has been teasing the device leading up to the launch.
* The latest teaser shows a glimpse of the Phone (2)’s design
* Nothing Phone 2 is expected to run Android 13 with Nothing OS 1.5 on top

Nothing Phone (2) will be launching in India on July 11 and the London-based company has started to tease the smartphone on its social media channels. Nothing shared an image in which it has teased the design of the upcoming handset.

“Ahead of the curve. See you on 11 July for the official launch of Phone (2),” the company said in a tweet that has an image that shows the phone’s back. The image suggests that the back glass of the smartphone is curved on the edges.

Nothing Phone (2)

This could be a welcome change when it comes to smartphone designs. A curved glass arguably provides a better in-hand feel. Moreover, we have already seen design changes in the Glyph Interface, which means that the phone will essentially get a new look.

Pre-orders for the Nothing Phone (2) in India began today with the phone scheduled to launch on July 11th. It’s one of the most anticipated phones at present, and Nothing has been doing everything possible to keep the hype. Earlier today, it shared a teaser of the Phone (2) that shows a glimpse of its design.

Nothing Phone 2 is set to launch globally and in India on July 11. It is expected to succeed the Nothing Phone 1, which was released in July 2022. The Phone 1 comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G+ chipset and is backed by a 4,500mAh battery.

Nothing Phone (2)

Meanwhile, the Phone 2 is confirmed to come equipped with a more powerful Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC and a slightly larger 4,700mAh battery.
Nothing CEO Carl Pei recently teased the home screen of the upcoming smartphone in a screenshot.

Now, ahead of its launch, the company has teased the design of the rear panel of the phone.

In a tweet on Friday, Nothing teased the design of the back panel of the Nothing Phone 2. The handset is seen in a transparent glass cover back, with underlying LED light panels, similar to the preceding handset.
The images also confirms that the Phone 2 will get curved edges and frame. In comparison, the Phone 1 had flat sides and a flat rear panel.

Nothing Phone (2)

In a recent screenshot of the phone’s home screen that Pei shared, the digital clock is seen in the top left corner of the display. This was indicative that the selfie camera may not be positioned centrally in the Phone 2.

In another tweet by the company, an unspecified handset is seen with extremely narrow bezels and a centre-aligned hole-punch camera slot at the top of the panel. It is speculated that this could be a hint that the upcoming phone is likely to have a centrally positioned selfie camera.

The Nothing Phone 2 pre-orders in India went live today at 12 noon. Customers only need to pay a refundable deposit of Rs. 2,000 to book the phone and upon the release, pay the balance amount to secure the handset.

An earlier report suggested that the 8GB + 256GB variant of the phone is likely to be priced at EUR 729 (roughly Rs. 65,600) and the 12GB + 512GB option is expected to be marked at EUR 849 (roughly Rs. 76,500).

Nothing Phone (2)

Nothing has already confirmed that the Phone 2 will come equipped with a 6.7-inch display, with a resolution of full-HD+ (2400 x 1080 pixels) or higher. It will be powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC.

The model will ship with a USB Type-C cable with a transparent outer layer and a silver-coloured USB port. The handset is also confirmed to receive 3 years of Android updates and 4 years of security updates.

Nothing Phone (2) Design

Nothing Phone (2)

Nothing has been pretty tight-lipped on the Phone (2)’s design. There’s speculation that the Phone (2) won’t come with any noticeable changes especially considering the fact that Nothing went all out with the Phone (1).
Carl Pei was also very quick to deny a leak that showed more or less the same design. He even played around suggesting that we might actually see a refreshed design.

Nothing has now shared a glimpse at the Phone (2)’s side frame which shows a slightly curved edge as opposed to the flat edges on the Phone (1). With the first-gen, Nothing adopted the iPhone 12’s flat-edged design. But the difference doesn’t seem very obvious and one might even not notice it properly. We would know better when the Phone (2) is made official.

Another design change that we’ll see on the Nothing Phone (2) is the centrally-aligned punch-hole camera. On the Phone (1) it sits on the top left corner of the screen. The Glyph Interface is very much there on the Phone (2) and it looks like the pattern is also still the same.

Nothing Phone (2) Pre-Orders

Nothing Phone (2)

Nothing has started pre-orders for the Phone (2) via Flipkart starting June 29.
The company is offering instant discounts on credit and debit cards from leading banks.

Additionally, the customers will get the Nothing Phone (2) case which is priced at Rs 1,299 at a discounted price of Rs 499. The screen protector, which will be priced at Rs 999 can be bought for Rs 399, and the 45W fast charger, which is normally priced at Rs 2,499, for Rs 1,499.

Nothing has already announced a few key specifications of the smartphone. The upcoming Phone (2) smartphone will sport a 6.7-inch display and it will be powered by a custom Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC, a big upgrade from last year’s Snapdragon 778G+.

The Nothing Phone (2) will offer an even better and more luxurious user experience than the Phone (1), company founder Carl Pei has said. Those interested can follow the launch event which starts at 8:30 PM IST on July 11. It will be livestreamed on the company website.

1)Nothing reveals collaboration with Swedish House Mafia for customizable Glyph Sound Pack.Details?

Ans)Nothing joins hands with Swedish House Mafia for the Phone (2)

The company’s latest teaser shares the Glyph Composer which showcases the exclusive Glyph sound pack that was made by the Swedish House Mafia, which is a major group in the EDM genre (specifically progressive House). The music group has now created the audio for the Glyph Composer on the Phone (2), allowing users will be offered the ability to personalize and remix custom sounds offered by the Swedish House Mafia.

In the video teaser, we can see that tapping on the different pads not only lights up different parts of the LED Glyphs on the back but even offers unique new sounds from the collaboration. Meaning, you can basically create your very own Glyph Ringtone. Notably, this feature is not limited to the Phone (2) and will also be offered to the Phone (1) once Nothing OS 2.0 drops later in August 2023.

Interestingly enough, the teaser also offers us hints at the rear design of the Phone (2). The rear Glyph design features a slight change and the corners of the upcoming device are flatter than its predecessor. Overall, the smartphone also appears to be larger than the previous iteration and will offer improved specifications as well. So stick around for more, as we will be covering its launch event that is set for July 11.

2)Nothing Phone (2) Pre orders go Live on Flipkart on June 29.Details?

3)Swedish House Mafia and Nothing on the Glyph Sound Pack for Phone 2.Details?

Ans)The Nothing Phone 2’s Glyph light is a key feature that garnered much attention in the original device.

With the upcoming release, Nothing has taken it up a notch, allowing users to have even more fun and personalization options.

The Glyph light in the Nothing Phone 2 features additional customizable zones, expanding from five to an impressive 11 zones.

This enhancement opens up a whole new world of possibilities for users to create their own unique light and sound combinations.

Creating Personalized Glyph Ringtones

One exciting aspect of the Nothing Phone 2’s Glyph light is its integration with sound.

With the Glyph Composer, users can now compose their own Glyph Ringtones.

To demonstrate the potential of this feature, Nothing collaborated with the Swedish House Mafia, who composed an exclusive Glyph Sound Pack for Phone 2.

The video shared on Twitter showcases the tantalizing combination of light and sound, offering a glimpse into the immersive experience awaiting Nothing Phone 2 users.

In the video released by Nothing, in collaboration with Swedish House Mafia, viewers gain insight into the redesigned back of the Nothing Phone 2.

While specific details are yet to be fully revealed, the video showcases a visually striking back panel.

This redesign indicates that Nothing has taken user feedback into account and made improvements to the aesthetics and overall design of the device.

The partnership with Swedish House Mafia hints at the device’s appeal to music lovers and those seeking a unique multimedia experience.

To remind you, with the Nothing Phone (1), the company offered Rs. 2000 discount with HDFC cards, exchange offer along with bumped up exchange on select smartphones and discounts for its 45W PD charger and Nothing Ear (1).

6) Nothing’s leaked Phone 2 design looks like a curvier follow-up to its first phone .Details?

Ans) Ahead of the official launch of the Nothing Phone 2 next month, leaker OnLeaks has published unofficial renders based on a prototype of the new device.
You might be disappointed if you’re expecting the phone to be a radical departure from Nothing’s previous devices since it looks like the essential design of the Phone 1 lives on in its successor.

But there are a couple of differences to tease out from the renders, though cautions the phone’s design may have changed since this prototype was produced. Most notably, the flat, squared-off top and sides of the Phone 1 appear to have been given more of a curve for the Phone 2.

As Android Authority notes, it makes the Phone 2 look like an iPhone 6 next to the iPhone 5-style design of the Phone 1. Notes that the front and back of the Phone 2 also have a subtle curve to them.

If these renders are accurate, it appears as though the back of the Phone 2 will also have a flashing glyph interface similar to the Phone 1.

But although the overall shape of the lighting strips is similar, several of them have been split into separate strips, such as around the wireless charging coil and dual cameras.
The renders match a cropped image of the handset Nothing released last month.

Nothing has officially said the Phone 2 will be announced in July, a year after the launch of its predecessor.

It’s already announced that the phone will be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chipset, will have a bigger 4,700mAh battery, 6.7-inch display, and — unlike the Phone 1 — will be officially released in the US.

7) Nothing Phone 2 to ‘enhance’ India’s smartphone manufacturing capabilities; know how?

Ans) Nothing Phone 2 will be made in India, the VP and GM of Nothing India, Manu Sharma, said today.

In a statement shared with the media, the executive confirmed the Phone 2, Nothing’s upcoming “premium” smartphone, will feature a transparent design requiring hi-tech manufacturing processes and precision engineering potentially contributing to the enhancement of country’s smartphone manufacturing capabilities.

Phone 2 is scheduled for global launch in July.

“Nothing smartphones are known for their iconic transparent design.
These designs require hi-tech manufacturing processes and precision engineering which have led to enhancement of smartphone manufacturing capabilities in India,” Sharma said, adding that “our drive to manufacture in India reflects our commitment towards the local consumers and their demands.
We are proud to announce that Phone 2 will be manufactured in India.”
London-based Nothing is working on expanding local customer support, alongside, with plans to open over 230 authorised service centres in more than 250 cities.

Nothing Phone 2 everything we know so far

Ahead of launch, the Phone 2 is being touted as one of the most sustainable smartphones on the market.
The phone is said to be using 3x more recycled or bio-based parts than Phone 1 with 100 percent recycled aluminium for the outer frame and entirely plastic-free packaging.

The Phone 2 also has a carbon footprint over 5kg lower than the Phone 1, Nothing says, and the final assembly plants where it is being build are claimed to be powered by 100 per cent renewable energy.

The Phone 2 is confirmed to be powered by Qualcomm’s flagship— but a bit dated— Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1, theoretically giving it about 80 percent faster performance than the Phone 1 with the Snapdragon 778G Plus inside. It will come with a screen that is 0.15-inch bigger than Phone 1’s (i.e., 6.7-inch) and boast of a battery capacity of 4,700mAh (200mAh up from the Phone 1’s).

8) Nothing Phone (2): What to expect?

Ans) Pei has been teasing the Phone (2) for a while now, hinting that it will deliver a premium experience compared to the Phone (1). The Phone (2) upgrades to last year’s top-end Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip from Qualcomm from the Snapdragon 778G+, which powered the first one.

With the Phone (2) will arrive Nothing OS 2.0, which the company says will combine the best of Android to enhance accessibility and efficiency for users. During an interview, Pei disclosed that Nothing is making significant investments in software development, particularly emphasising the Phone 2 s software. According to reports, Nothing has expanded its software team and now includes several experienced individuals who previously worked at OnePlus, Pei’s former company.

Nothing has confirmed that the Phone (2) will feature a bigger display, about 0.15 inches bigger than the Phone (1). Then, the Phone (2) will also boast a bigger battery of 4700mAh, 200mAh more than what it was in the Phone (1). Also, it has a lower carbon footprint than the first-gen model.

The company has announced that the Phone (2) will be made in India. The Phone (2) will go on sale in India through Flipkart.

9) Nothing Phone (2) India Launch: What You Need to Know ?

Ans) Nothing Phone (2) India launch event will be hosted on July 11 at 8.30 PM. The company has confirmed the same while teasing the design. According to the teaser invite, the Phone (2) will get an updated Glyph Interface. The company seems to have worked on the LED lights design, which is now a bit more separated than what we have seen in the Phone (1). The noticeable differences are around the camera module and wireless charging lights.

These design changes seem to be in line with the leaked design renders of the Phone (2), which also revealed that the device will continue to feature a semi-transparent design. The upcoming Nothing smartphone is also supposedly a lot more curvier on the sides, according to the leaked renders. However, soon after the alleged design renders leaked, CEO Carl Pei took to Twitter and tweeted “fake”, suggesting that the leaked design renders are not completely accurate.

Meanwhile, what is confirmed is the Phone (2)’s display size. The device will sport a 6.7-inch display. It should feature an AMOLED panel and offer support for a 120Hz refresh rate. If the leaked design renders are true for the display bit at least, the device will feature a hole-punch cutout at the top left corner for the front camera. Also, the screen will remain flat on all sides.

Under the hood, the device will feature a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC, which will also help Nothing unlock many camera features due to the upgraded Spectra 570 image signal processor (ISP). This includes support for Raw HDR and 4K video recording at 60 fps.

In addition to this, the device is also confirmed to pack a 4700mAh battery. The upgrades might lead to a bump in the price. We can expect the device to launch in India for around Rs 40,000. Here’s a quick look at the Nothing Phone (2) specifications and features known so far:

Display: 6.7-inch 120Hz AMOLED display with a Full HD+ resolution.
Performance: Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC
RAM/ storage: 8GB/ 12GB, 128GB/ 256GB.
Battery: 4700mAh battery with 33W fast charging support.
Rear camera: 50MP main camera and 50MP ultra-wide camera.
Front camera: 32MP front camera.
Software: Android 13-based Nothing OS 1.5 out of the box. Nothing OS 2.0 confirmed to be in works.
Other specifications: Glyph Interface, in-display fingerprint scanner, dual speakers, etc.

10) Nothing Phone (2) to launch on July 11.Details?

Ans) London-headquartered consumer tech company Nothing will launch the much-awaited successor to its maiden smartphone, the Phone (2), on July 11. The company will unveil Phone (2) in London — the launch event can be streamed online from 8.30 pm on Nothing’s official website.

The Phone (2) is the successor to Phone (1), easily one of the best-looking smartphones I’ve ever used or reviewed. The Phone (1) had a clean, stock Android interface and came with up to 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. At launch, it was priced around Rs 33,000.
The Phone (2) is expected to be a more premium offering — the smartphone is confirmed to be powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset and have a 4,700 mAh battery — slightly larger than the 4,500 mAh sported by its predecessor. This will also be the first time Nothing will sell a smartphone in the United States. The Phone (2) will run Nothing OS 2.0 out of the box.

Pricing and other details remain a mystery — for now. However, Nothing co-founder and CEO Carl Pei, in a recent interview with Forbes, said the price will be at a more acceptable level. ” …the latest technology comes at a cost which isn’t always justified from a user-benefit standpoint. Choosing Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 ensures that Phone (2) remains accessible while delivering a significantly improved experience compared to Phone (1),” Pei had said in the interview with Forbes.

The Nothing Phone (1) sported a dual camera array on the back — 50-megapixel primary and ultrawide shooters. It currently runs on the Android 13-based Nothing OS 1.5. But the standout features were the snazzy glyph interface and the retro-chic user interface, simultaneously making this phone feel futuristic and a callback to the good old feature phones of yore.

The Phone (2) will become the fifth product in Nothing’s portfolio — joining the Ear (1), Phone (1), Ear (stick), and Ear (2).

Kiara Advani’s Infamous Masturbation Scene From Lust Stories Goes Viral As Season 2 Drops

Kiara Advani'sAs the second season of Lust Stories premiered on Thursday on online streaming giant Netflix, actress Kiara Advanis most-talked-about masturbation scene from Lust Stories season one started doing rounds on the internet.

The first season of Lust Stories 2 was released on June 15, 2018, and it consisted of four short film segments by Anurag Kashyap, Zoyd Akhtar, Dibakar.

Banerjee, and karan Johar. Sharing the clip from the Lust Stories one, netizens compared it with Mrunal Thakurs intimate scene in the second installment.

Kiara Advani’s Masturbation Scene

Lust Stories 2

Kiara Advani and Vicky Kaushal are featured in Karan Johar’s story which talks about a newly-married woman, who never finds sexual satisfaction from her over-enthusiastic naive husband. So, she turns towards self-pleasure or masturbation, using a sex toy.

The 1.47-minute-long clip shows Kiara trying a vibrator. At the same time, she is called by her in-laws and the remote of the same goes into the hands of a child. What happens next is pleasure but with a dash of embarrassment.

However, Kiara and Karan were heavily trolled at the time of the release of the show.
Not only this but family members of late singer Lata Mangeshkar also objected to use of the singer’s song during the masturbation scene.

Meanwhile, netizens compared Mrunal Thakur’s sex scene in the Lust Stories 2 to Kiara Advani’s masturbation scene.

Slamming Karan Johar, a family member of Lata Mangeshkar said, “We wonder why he needed to use a Bhajan-like song sung in the most revered voice of Asia to show his heroine in an orgasmic state. He could have used any other song.” The member added, “At her age we don’t want to expose her to this kind of ugly desecration of her song.

Why did Karan Johar use Lata Didi’s immortal song in such an embarrassing situation? I still remember how ecstatic
Karan was when Didi had recorded the song for Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham. He said it was a dream come true. Why turn the dream song into a nightmare now?.”

Lust Stories 2 Twitter review: Fans go gaga over Tamannaah-Vijay Varma’s chemistry, hail Kajol’s performance

Lust Stories 2

Lust Stories 2, consisting four short stories, directed by Amit Sharma, R Balki, Konkona Sen Sharma and Sujoy Ghosh dropped on OTT today.

It is billed as a collection of films that shed light on relationships from the female lens of women, stringing them together thematically. The movie features Amruta Subhash, Angad Bedi, Mrunal Thakur, Neena Gupta, Kajol, Kumud Mishra, Tamannaah Bhatia, Tillotama Shome and Vijay Varma.

Considering that the first edition – Lust Stories, was much appreciated by the audience, expectations from part two were already high. Many netizens, as expected, loved real-life couple Tamannaah and Vijay Varma’s chemistry.

One user wrote, “I couldn’t take my eyes off Tamannaah and Vijay as they made me gush over them with their scorching on-screen. Somebody, please call the fire ambulance.” Another user added, “Tamannaah-Vijay’s sex scenes were effortless and didn’t seem vulgar but added depth to the story. Their chemistry is top-notch. They deserve all the credits.” A third user chipped in and said, “Real pair on fire! 😈 #LustStories2”

As expected, Kajol stood out for most of the audience. One user wrote, “I Iove the bgm for #Kajol ‘s story 😯 it’s eerie, it’s suspenceful, mysterious and it does the thing! OMG! #LustStories2”. Another one added, “take a bow @itsKajolD 🙌 i don’t think I would’ve connected with Chanda and understood her sacrifice if it wasn’t for you! You didn’t even say anything in the last scene and i was bawling my eyes out like that was my own son 😭😭 #Kajol”. Another user commented, “Mom you nailed it @itsKajolD”.

A user perfectly summed it up by saying, “The second installment of Lust Stories 2 is a rather bold take on two unexplored topics: voyeurism, and, exhibitionism. Tillotama Shome and Amruta Subhash nail the show, out and out. Konkona Sen Sharma at her uninhibited best.”

Lust Stories 2

According to the makers, the first edition of Lust Stories ignited meaningful conversations and the second anthology has even more bold, diverse and progressive stories from different parts of India.

Bursts and thrusts of passion – off-camera, on it or merely alluded to – are peppered across Lust Stories 2, but these paroxysms are by no means all that the four tales are about.
Two of the stories in the Netflix film centre on lust as a tool of power, a means of entrapment or an act of vengeance.

This pair of tales is animated by vengeance seekers. Another segment has two women – one a corporate exec, the other a domestic help – squaring off in an unusual and searching spiral of voyeurism and arousal.

One story is set in an oneiric, beguiling little town where a chance encounter between a man and his former wife, who went missing years ago, triggers renewed but portentous ardour.

Exciting as that may sound, Lust Stories 2 does not tee off too well. The opening story (Made for Each Other, directed and co-written by R. Balki) delivers neither pleasure nor joy. A fluffy and sterile take on the centrality of good sex in a happy marriage, it steers clear of the more complex zones that the other stories explore.

Lust Stories 2

The first segment is, however, salvaged a touch by Neena Gupta as a disruptive granny who trots out refreshingly unabashed ideas about mating game rules.

Made for Each Other is about a just-engaged couple, Veda (Mrunal Thakur) and Arjun (Angad Bedi).

At the behest of the girl’s grandmother who believes that no marriage can survive bad sex, they decide to put their “compatibility in the bedroom” to the test before they get legally hitched.

The no-nonsense naani insists that only Mount Fuji-like eruptions would count as peak performance. While the young couple is at it – all the action takes place behind closed hotel doors – the old woman turns her attention to her 52-year-old son (Hemant Kher) and 48-year-old daughter-in-law (Kanupriya Pandit).

Rekindle the spark that has gone out of your marriage, she says to the girl’s parents, all the while talking up the great sex that she had with her husband till the day he was alive.

Lust Stories 2

It is left to the film’s second part, Konkona Sen Sharma’s The Mirror, to turn on the heat and help Lust Stories 2 put the drab kick-off behind it. What follows are three successive segments that are significantly steamier and more enticing.

The Mirror, which examines female erogeneity in a new light, sends the film into a tangled, twisted terrain as it examines carnal pleasure and its frequently puzzling manifestations.
Sen Sharma’s segment holds up a mirror to the inner worlds of two dissimilar women – successful and single professional Isheeta (Tillotama Shome) and her trusted all-purpose maid Seema (Amruta Subhash) – and probes the upshots of a piquant situation that arises when the former stumbles upon a startling scene when she returns from work one afternoon.

Isheeta is thrown off at first, unsure what to make of what she has inadvertently barged into. But she quickly begins to see what is before her eyes almost every day as an opportunity to liven up her dull, sexless life, if only by proxy.

Lust Stories 2

The script by Pooja Tolani and Sen Sharma looks at the dynamics of female desire in two different physical spaces – the cramped tenement that Seema lives in with her husband Kamal (Shrikant Yadav) and two children and the high-end apartment that belongs to

Isheeta but of which the maid has a free run in the daytime. Powered by two magnetic performances from Shome and Subhash, The Mirror maps the deepest impulses of the two women as they are drawn into a vicarious ‘relationship’ that stimulates them beyond their imagination and unlocks an ineffable degree of sexual frisson.

Sujoy Ghosh’s Sex with Ex, starring Tamannaah Bhatia and Vijay Varma as a long-disappeared woman and her one-time husband and corporate honcho respectively, is a genre exercise that embraces both the coital and the confounding in its portrait of a relationship that ended abruptly in mysterious circumstances.

Employing a bright colour palette that lends the backdrop the feel of a dreamscape, the story is about Vijay Chauhan (Varma), a father of two boys, who is on his way to meet a clandestine squeeze when he is summoned back to the office for a board meeting.
He turn around but drives his vintage car into a tree to avoid hitting a cyclist.

Lust Stories 2 The search for a car mechanic leads Vijay into a town where he spots an enigmatic and seductive woman who has the face of his ex-wife Shanti (Bhatia) who vanished without a trace. But is she quite who he thinks she is?

A mean, tough-talking cop is not far from the scene, old habits (Vijay drinks coffee without milk, the lady tea with milk) have still not been forgotten and a befuddling brassiere size raises a question in the man’s mind. Even as the conundrums multiply, sparks fly between the two.

The lady advises the accidental visitor not to tarry. You should leave, she says repeatedly. The man does not heed the advice.

You owe me an explanation, he insists. The story leaves a strand or two unexplained but it is tantalising enough to hold one’s attention.

A high-wattage Tamannaah sizzles and glows; Vijay Varma absorbs the heat without melting and even generates some of his own.

The chemistry between the two actors enlivens the intriguing encounter between two people who at first flush appear to be from different planets.

Amit Ravindernath Sharma’s Tilchatta, provides a fitting end to a quartet that, after the flat and dreary domesticity of Made for Each Other, forays into themes of pride and revenge, suppressed longings, long buried secrets, corrosive jealousies, feudal oppression and desperate bids for freedom.

Scripted by Saurabh Chaudhary and the director, the pitch-dark Tilchatta is fronted by Kajol in the role of a powerless queen of a palace and a kingdom that has clearly seen better days. Kumud Mishra plays a feudal lord who rides roughshod over women, be they in his bed or elsewhere.

The two reside in a Rajasthan haveli, a toxic bubble that conceals many an unsavoury secret. In the drama about lacerations of heart and body, confinement and the desire for freedom provide the narrative crux. Three individuals, driven by ambition and a yearning for autonomy, plot to escape their fate.

Lust Stories 2

Devyani Singh (Kajol), treated like a doormat by Suraj Singh (Mishra), is determined to get her own back by sending her son Ankur (Zeeshan Nadaf) to England. She hires a new cleaning lady, Rekha (Anushka Kaushik). Inevitably, the lecherous Suraj Singh begins to lust for her. The harried queen resolves to make the most of the situation in her quest for freedom for herself and her son.

Kajol’s solid performance lends the story a meaty centre. Kumud Mishra is as impressively flawless – and effortless – as ever. The two younger actors, Anushka Kaushik and Zeeshan Nadaf, deserve special mention.

They are as good as anyone else in Lust Stories 2. From the pulpy and playful to the putrid and puckered, Lust Stories 2, pretty much like its predecessor, is a mixed bag. The storytelling isn’t always lusty. But when it is, there is enough zest in here for the occasional creases not to get in the way.

Faqs on Lust Stories 2

1) ‘Lust Stories 2’ movie review: A lacklustre anthology, with one stunner.Details?

Ans) I resisted rewatching Lust Stories (2018) before settling down to review its sequel. The original was like a prized poker hand of aces — dealt by the familiar quartet of Karan Johar, Anurag Kashyap, Dibakar Banerjee and Zoya Akhtar — and I did not want these card sharks influencing my judgment about the fresh bet. My efforts, it transpires, were in vain. The maiden anthology was just so good that it was impossible not to compare. Somehow, within their limited run-times, the filmmakers had managed to weave rich tapestries of lust and desire, insecurities and obsessive behaviour. There were performances that stung, with wit and humour to match.

Much of that is amiss in Lust Stories 2, which scores a dismal one out of four. Konkona Sen Sharma, who stamped her directorial authority with A Death in the Gunj (2016), turns in a layered, neatly judged short, exploring quintessential ‘Lust Story’ themes of class, space and female desire (as did Zoya Akhtar in her segment five years ago). The other films—by noted (male) directors R. Balki, Sujoy Ghosh and Amit Ravindernath Sharma—don’t pack the same wallop, none of these skilled craftsmen and keen social observers bringing to their shorts the sparkle and punch of their features.

Balki’s film, if anything, is strangely coy. Eligibles Arjun (Angad Bedi) and Veda (Mrunal Thakur) are about to close their match when the latter’s grandmother (Neena Gupta) butts in with a caveat. “Before buying a car you take a test drive,” she reasons. “Then before marriage, why no test drive?” Her contention is that couples who share great sexual chemistry lead fulfilling lives in the long run. As Arjun and Veda gladly fly off to put theory to practice, their parents are left red-faced. It goes from here to a parable about ‘eruptions’ on Mount Fuji, and the film begins to share its euphemistically embarrassed tone. Oddly, the casting of Neena Gupta as the gumptious granny doesn’t work here —she has played taboo-busting elderly women so often that somewhere the surprise of the conceit has worn off.

Sen Sharma’s film opens with an emblematic Mumbai image: clustered slums rimmed by looming high-rises. Occupying these two overlapping worlds are Isheeta (Tillotama Shome) and her maid, Seema (Amruta Subhash). One afternoon, Isheeta, a rich but lonely designer, walks in on Seema fornicating vigorously on her bed. The man is revealed to be Seema’s husband, who sneaks in at odd hours, and a strange game of seeing and unseeing unfurls between the trio. Working stealthily with images and sounds, with hints of Persona, Sen Sharma crafts a messy, mysterious tale (if a bit long in the tooth). It’s rare for Hindi films to examine voyeurism from a female lens, and even rarer to split that lens in two. Subhash can step up the wattage in any film, but it’s Shome, with her even and unrushed performance, who grounds it beautifully.

Vijay Varma driving down an empty road, chatting up multiple women on the phone. Less than two months since Dahaad, Sujoy Ghosh’s segment in Lust Stories 2 hits us with a recognizable image. The place that he lands up in though, after ramming his car into the trunk of a tree, is nothing like Rajasthan. It looks unmistakably like a soundstage, with houses and trees resembling figures on pop-up greeting cards. Here, Vijay, playing a man named Vijay, encounters Shanti (Tamannaah Bhatia), his ex-wife who had disappeared ten years ago. Ghosh appears to have received the wrong memo, directing an addled, rudimentary thriller that will better slot into a different Netflix franchise entirely (hint: it also has ‘Stories’ in its title). Apparently, Tamannaah and Varma paired off on the sets of this film, so it wasn’t all in vain.

Coming in at the end, Amit Sharma’s film is constructed like a dark fairy tale, spurning the comedy of his 2018 hit Badhaai Ho. In a serene temple town in central India, Chanda (Kajol) lives a sad, suffocating life. She wants to bundle her son off to England for higher studies, an idea that’s anathema to her abusive, caste-and-royalty-obsessed husband (Kumud Mishra). When a new maid enters this household, he starts leching after her, but is Chanda as muted and acquiescent as she appears? Despite Kajol’s best efforts, with those eyes that can suggest a world, the film doesn’t quite add up, neither logically nor emotionally. It’s also troubling how Sharma and writer Saurabh Choudhary decide to wrap things up in the end.

Anthologies have a place in a vibrant film culture like ours. Nevertheless, I wish producer Ashi Dua would go easy on them once in a while, or come up with something genuinely novel and unexpected. You can tune into this one for the Konkona segment. The rest are lost stories.

2) What is the Plot of Lust stories 2?

Ans) Lust Stories 2 begins with Balki’s approx 25 minutes long film headlined by Mrunal Thakur, Angad Bedi and Neena Gupta, where the latter advocates the need for sexual compatibility for a successful marriage. This is followed by Konkona’s short featuring Tillotama Shome and Amruta Subhash. Set in the Maximum City, this one largely focuses on desire, fantasy, and what one does to fulfill it. The third movie in the anthology is directed by Sujoy Ghosh, who has beautifully marinated thriller with the theme of lust, with an unfaithful character at the helm of it. Amit’s a-little-more-than-30 minutes portion of Lust Stories 2 stars Kajol and Kumud Mishra. It narrates the story of Devyani Singh, her destiny and why the latter despite all the efforts is still the ultimate truth. What’s in your destiny will happen.

3) What’s Hot & the best part of Lust Stories 2?

Ans) The biggest strength of Lust Stories 2 is the variety of genres that it explores in the approx 2 hour 5 minutes run time. While Balki has treated the subject with humor, Konkona is exploring the dark side of it in her Tillotama and Amruta led film. Sujoy doesn’t disappoint his fans who would expect thriller in his portion of the film, while Amit combines that with suspense and intense emotions that really leaves you shocked by the end of it. The anthology truly climaxes with a cinematic orgasm, and much of the credit for that goes to Amit and Sujoy’s sections of the movie.

What I appreciate in the last two shorts is the use of lust as the core ingredient but not just sticking to it, and elevating the narrative by combining this central theme with other aspects like loyalty, passion, aspiration, greed and treachery. Furthermore, the background music across the four shorts lend able support to the stories, while the setting in Amit and Sujoy’s films were the hero ingredients. Much credit for that should go to the DOPs and production designers. The run time is apt too, and at no point does any of the films seem stretched or pompous.

4) What’s Not Good in Lust Stories 2?

Ans) While Sujoy and Amit’s films go beyond the theme of lust, Balki and Konkona’s shorts seem limited in imagination. They are more anecdotal than stories. For instance, I was hoping that Balki’s directorial in Lust Stories 2 would go a little beyond the theme of ‘sexual compatibility in marriage’ but it stays restricted to that throughout.

Ditto for Konkona’s story. Besides being anecdotal, I couldn’t connect to the climax too as it seemed was drafted just for effect and reaction. When that clearly comes across is when it doesn’t work. Even the addition of Mrunal Thakur’s english lines while conversing with her onscreen grandmother (Neena Gupta) seemed forced. Maybe the intention was to showcase a modern family, but for some reason it doesn’t come through and seems largely awkward.

5) How are Performances of Lust Stories 2?

Ans) Every actor has played their to the T. Neena Gupta is the star of Balki’s portion of Lust Stories 2, and pulls off her character with grace. Angad Bedi and Mrunal Thakur deliver a pleasant performance, while Tillotama Shome and Amruta Subhash get into the skin of the character. Amruta in particular really shines in her part.

I wonder why no one cast Tamannaah Bhatia and Vijay Varma together earlier, as they not only make a good onscreen pair but they also emote their individual parts so well. Lastly, both Kajol and Kumud Mishra ace their performance in the anthology. Look out for an array of emotions that Kajol portrays by the end of the film, and how it shifts with every change in the scenario. It says so much about her acting prowess.

6) Tamannaah Bhatia, Vijay Varma reveal if they’ve ever had sex on a first date.Details ?

Ans) Tamannaah Bhatia has said that she has never had sex on a first date while Vijay Varma believes he “must have”. The actors are gearing up for the release of their new project – Lust Stories 2. Tamannaah and Vijay will be seen onscreen together for the first time in Sujoy Ghosh’s short for the Netflix anthology that releases online on June 29.
Tamannaah and Vijay have been together for some time and they recently confirmed dating each other. The confirmation came around the time they kickstarted promotional tours and interviews for Lust Stories 2. The anthology also features short films by Konkona Sen Sharma, R Balki and Amit Ravindernath Sharma.

Sex on first date

Asked if she ever sat through a bad date, Tamannaah told News18 that she did and she also responded to whether she ever had sex on a first date. She said she never had sex on a first date, while Vijay told the news channel, “I must have.” Director Sujoy replied to the question saying, “Not that lucky,” leaving everyone in splits.

‘Test drive’ before marriage

Vijay asked if he had sex on the second date and Sujoy told him, “I come from a pretty average middle-class family, I have to fight for everything. Nothing comes easy for me.” During the interview, the team was also asked if they believed in Neena Gupta’s dialogue from Lust Stories – ‘Shaadi se pehle test drive to karna chahiye (One should get a test drive before marriage)’. Vijay Varma quickly said that he believes in everything that Neena says, and Tamannaah called it a good call to follow all that Neena says as she “knows it all”.

Lust Stories 2

Lust Stories 2 also features Kajol, Mrunal Thakur, Angad Bedi, Amruta Shubhash, Tillotama Shome and Kumud Mishra, apart from Neena, Tamannaah and Vijay. It is produced by RSVP and Flying Unicorn Ent and is a collection of films that view relationships from the female perspective.

Faqs on Vivo Y27

1) Vivo Y27 arriving soon as it appears on Google Play with Key specs. Details?

Ans) May has been very busy for Vivo as it launched a bunch of new smartphones in both China and global market. These include the Vivo Y36, Vivo Y35m, and the Vivo Y78. In addition, the company is ready to unveil the premium S17 series in its home country tomorrow, which should also arrive in the international market but as Vivo V29. Before that happens, a new Vivo Y series model, dubbed Vivo Y27 has been spotted on Google Play console with its key specifications. Here’s what we know so far.

Vivo Y27 could be a rebranded Vivo Y36

The Vivo Y27 5G has been spotted on the Google Play Console website with model number V2248. This is the same model number as the recently launched Vivo Y36 5G, hinting Y27 might just be a rebranded version of this phone.

The listing reveals the MediaTek MT6833 SoC under the hood of the smartphone. Although this processor used to be called Dimensity 700 SoC, MediaTek’s new naming convention might dub it as the Dimensity 6020 SoC. The chip has two cores clocked at 2.2GHz and six efficiency cores clocked at 2.0GHz. Graphics are covered by the Mali G57 GPU.

According to the listing, the Vivo Y27 will get 6GB of RAM and run Android 13 out of the box. Other details of the smartphone are not known. But if it’s indeed a Vivo Y36 5G rebrand, we can expect it to get a 6.44-inch LCD panel with an FHD+ resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. The device may get a 50MP primary sensor and a 2MP depth lens paired with an LED flash on the rear. For selfies, it could feature a 16MP shooter on the front.

2) Vivo Y27 now appears on the NCC website with live images.Details?

Ans) Vivo has recently launched the premium S17 series in China, which should also be released globally in the upcoming months as the Vivo V29. Prior to this, the company introduced several Y series smartphones, including the Vivo Y78 and Vivo Y36, among others. In addition, a new Vivo Y series is also reported to be in development, referred to as the Vivo Y27. This handset was recently discovered on Google Play with its key specifications, and now it has surfaced on the NCC website, showcasing live images. Let’s take a closer look.

Vivo Y27 might launch very soon

Vivo Y27 5G, with the model number V2248, has been spotted on the NCC website. The listing gives us a clear look at the smartphone’s design. It is seen in a greenish color with a rectangular camera module on the rear. The camera island features two large rings for the camera sensors and an LED flash. The device appears to have a flat rear and front, as well as flat sides. The design is nothing out of the ordinary and is similar to what you may have seen on many other BBK group smartphones.

The NCC certification listing confirms that the Vivo Y27 5G will be equipped with a 5,000mAh battery with support for 44W fast charging. The handset’s Google Play Console listing hinted it could be powered by the Dimensity 6020 SoC. It may get 6GB of RAM and run Android 13 out of the box.

Vivo Y27 is rumored to be a rebranded Vivo Y36, which was unveiled only recently. That smartphone comes with a 6.44-inch LCD panel with an FHD+ resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. It features a 50MP primary sensor and a 2MP depth lens paired with an LED flash on the rear.

3) What are Vivo Y27 5G NBTC Certification details?

Ans) The NBTC certification reveals the model number of the device as Vivo V2302. Additionally, the NBTC certification confirms the moniker as Y27 5G. Apart from these details, no other information is revealed by the NBTC certification. If the past leaks are to be believed, the upcoming Vivo Y27 5G will boast a Full HD+ resolution display with a 440 PPI pixel density. The device will have a punch-hole cutout at the front side which will accommodate the selfie camera.

Furthermore, the smartphone will pack up to 6GB of RAM. There will be also top-end model which will come with 8GB of RAM. We can expect the smartphone to debut in 128GB and 256GB storage options. As for the software, the device will run Android 13 out of the box with Funtouch OS 13 skin on top.

Microsoft Xbox Series S 1TB Price Rs 38,990 in India, Launch Date on September 1

Microsoft Xbox Series S

HIGHLIGHTS

* The Xbox Series S originally debuted with 512GB storage.
* The new 1TB Xbox Series S will be available in a new Carbon Black colour.
* Xbox Series S supports up to 120fps gameplay, Quick Resume, and lightning-fast load times.

Microsoft’s annual events Xbox Showcase and Xbox Games Showcase were held just a couple of weeks ago.
These events were packed with announcements for Xbox fans around the world.
One key announcement at the event was a new Xbox Series S console variant that comes with 1TB of storage space.

Microsoft is bringing the Xbox Series S 1TB black model to India in the first wave at the same time as global markets.

Microsoft Xbox Series S

The Xbox Series S with upgraded storage and new paintjob will cost Rs 38,990 and go on sale starting from September 1, the console’s dedicated product listing page has confirmed. Globally, the model will retail for $349 which roughly translates to about Rs 28,800.

The Xbox Series S was originally launched in white with 512GB of base storage at a price of Rs 34,990. Microsoft markets the Series S as an affordable console offering close-to Xbox Series X power at a budget pricing thanks to a lack of disk drive and a few other core hardware changes.

But the console has been held back somewhat due to its puny internal storage of which only 364GB is available to use right out of the gate. It doesn’t help that the console only supports proprietary storage cards for expansion which are naturally expensive.

Microsoft Xbox Series S

More storage, as such, is highly appreciated not only from a short-term point of view but also from a longevity and future-proofing perspective.

Aside from the colour swap and more storage, the rest of the hardware remains unchanged which is to say that the console is based on the same 8-core AMD Zen 2 CPU as the Series X.

This is paired with an AMD RDNA 2 GPU, same as the Series X. The major differences are that the CPU in the Series S is clocked at 3.6GHz (this is 3.8GHz in the Series X) and the GPU comes with 20 compute units clocked at 1.563GHz delivering 4 TFLOPS (this is 52 CUs @1.825GHz for 12 TFLOPS in the Series X).

The Series S has 10GB RAM @224GB/s with 8GB available to games (this is 16GB @560GB/s with 13.5GB available to games in the Series X).

Microsoft Xbox Series S

But despite its dialled down approach, the Xbox Series S can pull off nearly every trick out the Series X’s textbook including variable rate shading, variable refresh rate (up to 120Hz), hardware accelerated ray tracing, ultra-low latency, Quick Resume, and Smart Delivery.

Speaking on the announcement, Bree Adams, Senior Marketing Manager, Xbox, said:
Xbox is for everyone who loves games. You can play any game on any device you want. Some gamers told us they wanted more space to store their games.

So we made a new Carbon Black Series S with 1TB of space. You can get this new Xbox if you want to change your old one or if you are new to Xbox. It is another choice for you in the Xbox family.

If you are planning to grab this console in India, we finally have official details regarding the pricing and launch date.

The Xbox Series S 1TB price has been set at Rs 38,990 (ERP) in India.
This simply means it is the recommended pricing from Microsoft but the actual price may vary from one retailer to another.
For comparison, the 512GB storage variant is listed at Rs 34,990 (ERP).

Microsoft Xbox Series 1TB Specifications and Features

Microsoft Xbox Series S

The Xbox Series S 1TB is the same as the original Xbox Series S that arrived in November 2020. The only differences are in the storage space and colour variant. Microsoft doubled the storage space on the console after listening to customers complain about not having enough storage.

This new console variant has been announced in a new Carbon Black colour. It has the same matte finish as the Xbox Series X and Xbox Wireless Controller.

The Xbox Series S boasts the Xbox Velocity Architecture which enables 2K gaming at up to 120 fps and lightning-fast load times. Quick Resume is a feature that lets gamers switch across multiple titles almost instantly. The console supports all the Xbox accessories and the Xbox Game Pass library.

Microsoft Xbox Series S

In other news, Microsoft is ready to increase Xbox Game Pass pricing in India. The Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and Xbox Game Pass for Console will see a price hike of up to Rs 50.

The new prices will be Rs 549 and Rs 379 respectively starting July 6 for new subscribers. Existing monthly subscribers will have to pay new prices from August 13.

There are also speculations that we may see Xbox Series X prices go up as well.  The team is said to have intentions of bringing prices closer to the competition in each of the markets where the console is sold. The new console pricing is expected to get official sometime in August.
