Xiaomi could soon complete its latest flagship lineup with the launch of the standard Xiaomi 18. The company recently introduced the Xiaomi 18 Pro and Xiaomi 18 Pro Max in China but the regular model was not part of the launch. A new certification and fresh leak now suggest that the Xiaomi 18 is still in development and could arrive later this year.
Xiaomi 18 Clears MIIT and SRRC Certification in China
A device carrying the M261DB model number has reportedly passed wireless certification with China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT). Tipster Digital Chat Station claims that the certified device is the standard Xiaomi 18. Tipster Bald Panda has also shared some key details about the upcoming smartphone.
Meanwhile, tipster Anvin @ZionsAnvin on X shared details of the same smartphone with model M261DB has also cleared SRRC certification in China. While the certification doesn’t confirm any key specs, it provides details of connectivity support.
As per the screenshot, the smartphone will get support for GSM, WCDMA, TD-LTE, LTE FDD, 5G, Wi-Fi (WAPI), and Bluetooth along with modulation methods (GMSK, QPSK, 16QAM, 256QAM, up to 4096QAM).
Xiaomi 18 Could Launch in December
According to a report by XimiTime, the standard Xiaomi 18 could launch in December, which will be around three months after the Xiaomi 18 Pro series. This would follow Xiaomi’s staggered launch approach for the current generation.
Xiaomi Group co-founder and president Lu Weibing had previously confirmed on Weibo that the standard Xiaomi 18 would be launched separately later in the year. This means the regular model was not necessarily expected to debut alongside the Pro models.
The December timeframe would also be similar to Xiaomi’s previous launch strategy. The company introduced the Xiaomi 17 Ultra in China in December 2025 after the earlier launch of the Xiaomi 17 series.
Xiaomi 18 Expected Specifications
The Xiaomi 18 is tipped to feature a 6.4-inch flat display with a 1.5K resolution. The display will most likely be Xiaomi’s M11 panel that also features on the recently launched Pro models. It may use two rear cameras instead of the Pro model’s triple-camera system, while gaining a larger battery. However, it is expected to retain the same Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 chipset and 200-megapixel main-camera resolution.
The phone may run HyperOS 4 based on Android 17, matching the software generation used by the recently launched Xiaomi 18 Pro models.
The standard model is reportedly expected to have a simpler camera setup than the Pro models. The leak points to a dual rear-camera system, although the exact specifications of the secondary camera have not been revealed. The phone is also expected to skip the secondary rear display found on the Xiaomi 18 Pro and Xiaomi 18 Pro Max.
The 7,200mAh battery could be one of the biggest highlights of the standard model. If the leaked capacity is accurate, the Xiaomi 18 would have a larger battery than the Xiaomi 18 Pro, which comes with a 7,000mAh cell.
The exact camera hardware and other specifications remain unconfirmed at this stage.
For now, Xiaomi has not officially confirmed the launch date or specifications of the standard Xiaomi 18.
