Ubisoft Officially Confirms Hero Of Next Assassin’s Creed Game: Here Is All You Can Expect

Ubisoft has officially announced the title of its next open-world adventure series and the title of the next game in “Assassin’s Creed Mirage.” Following an earlier leak of the game’s artwork, the publisher confirmed the title, star, and setting of the game, in a tweet on Thursday.

The first official image from Assassin’s Creed Mirage, which features the recognisable Assassin’s Creed archetype of a hooded assailant, was released alongside the game’s name. As expected, based on some previous leaks, the image is set in a location we haven’t yet seen in the game. Further information about the game will be revealed at the Ubisoft Forward event later this month, according to Ubisoft.

On September 10th at 12 p.m. PT, Ubisoft Forward will air for those interested in learning more about the upcoming game.

The most recent leaks that came to light correctly identified this game’s title and specified that it would take place in Baghdad. However, Ubisoft hasn’t officially confirmed the place where the game is set, the key art and the fact that the leaker got the name right raise the possibility that the claimed setting is also accurate.

Basim, an Assassin’s Creed Valhalla character, is rumoured to be the main character of this game. Basim and the upcoming game’s setting have long been the subject of assumption.

The Assassin Basim main character, who first appeared in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla in 2020, was shown jumping over an archway with Baghdad’s Palace of the Golden Gate in the background in an image Ubisoft shared on Twitter.

The upcoming Assassin’s Creed Mirage takes place in the caliphal palace during the Abbasid Caliphate in the late 9th century, or between 860 and 870.

The plot of Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed Mirage is likely to follow Basim’s young life, beginning as a thief and eventually being a part of “Hidden Ones”.

The protagonist of Assassin’s Creed Mirage may be Basim, a fan favourite who is also referred to as the Norse god Loki in the lore of Valhalla, according to leaks. Additionally, since the game is set in the Middle East, it is anticipated to return to its roots and feature the stealthy gameplay for which Assassin’s Creed is renowned.

As with Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and Odyssey, the gameplay will probably stop offering dialogue options, and there won’t be a gender option either. The esteemed”Eagle Vision” power is back in the game but according to rumours, it will be combined with the more recent “drone bird” mechanic.

It was intended for Assassin’s Mirage to be an addition to Valhalla under the codename Rift. The developers, however, chose to make it a stand-alone game.

Originally intended to be a Valhalla expansion, Mirage, also known as the codename Rift, was compelled into service on Ubisoft’s publishing calendar as a standalone game to fill out a period that was otherwise devoid of new releases, according to Bloomberg. Ubisoft’s Bordeaux studio is in charge of leading development, which may be why it is behind schedule.

Even though there were numerous leaks this week, one that surfaced the day of Ubisoft’s announcement seemed to go beyond Assassin’s Creed Mirage itself and into the DLC that was going to be released for the game.

The game’s name and a setting with a similar theme to that of Ubisoft’s official reveal were depicted in the artwork. It was referred to as “The Forty Thieves Quest.” This was assumed to be a reference to the short story Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves and appeared to insinuate the game DLC before it was officially announced.

Recently, new details regarding Assassin’s Creed Mirage were made public by a YouTube user known by the name of J0nathan. The list contained some fresh information in addition to confirming the aforementioned facts.

The video was set in Baghdad between the years 870 and 860 and during the Anarchy in Samarra, appeared to be aiming for a spring 2023 release, according to the promotional video. Other changes include the return of Eagle Vision, a feature that allows heightened senses, and the addition of a String Dagger weapon.
