In our first impression, Realme Buds Air 5 seems to be an upgrade from its predecessor.
These are more compact, more comfortable and more capable.
So, let’s get to a more detailed hands-on review.
We received the Deep Sea Blue colour variant for this review.
Pros | Cons |

The earbuds are comfortable thanks to minimal weight and also fit well. We extensively tested the earbuds and didn’t feel any discomfort even during those extended listening sessions.
The in-ear seal is good too and you wouldn’t have to worry about buds falling off.
With Buds Air 5, Realme has taken sound quality and the noise-cancelling feature seriously this time.
The sound quality, thanks to the 12.4mm titanizing driver, is definitely a step up from the last earbuds Realme launched.
The bass is stunningly effective. It gives good performance in the mid and high ranges. Also, the vocals and various instruments in most tracks are reproduced with much accuracy and decent clarity.
Tracks such as “Paper Trails” by DARKSIDE and “Rainbow In The Dark” by Dio sound quite impressive on Buds Air 5.
The active noise cancellation feature is definitely a surprise as we mentioned in our first impressions as well.
In practical use, the 50dB ANC cancels about 80 to 85 per cent of continuous noises when turned on.
It also has Transparent Mode for times you do want to be aware of what’s going on around you.
The Buds Air 5 come with Bluetooth v5.3 for all-round connectivity. With a 10m range limit, the connectivity is good.
The SBC and AAC Bluetooth codecs ensure users have the same listening experience on Android and iOS.
The 6-mic call noise cancellation feature is decent. The call quality of the Buds Air 5 is good.
However, quieter environments give the best results as we experienced disturbances during calls from a busier area.
It also provides a 45ms super low latency for faster audio signals and an overall improved listening experience.
The Realme Link App (available on Android and iOS) provide customisation support to the buds.
The App can be used for ANC settings (ANC & Transparency Modes), Sound Effect Modes, Dynamic Bass, Game Mode and more.
The battery life on the Buds Air 3 is decent too. The earbuds run for around 7 hours on a single charge.
It provides around 38 hours of playback time with the charging case.
The Type-C charging interface is great and it takes around 2 hours for complete machine charging.
Realme Buds Air 5 are a worthy upgrade from the previous Air series earbuds.
They look super stylish and provide a good comfortable fit for a pleasant long listening experience You can expect can enjoy good active noise cancelling (ANC) and great sound quality.
For the price point, Buds Air 5 is definitely something that we recommend if you are looking for a decent pair of ANC earbuds that can be your everyday audio companion.
