PS Plus December Games Tipped to Include Mass Effect Legendary Edition, More

If reports circulating in the media are to be believed, the PlayStation Plus free game titles for the month of December have been leaked online. Popular leaker Dealabs has claimed that the featured games in December would include titles such as Mass Effect Legendary Edition, Divine Knockout (DKO) and Biomutant.

Dealabs have been right about the title additions to the subscription many times in the past as well. The reports also suggest that the games will be available in PS Plus Essential, Extra, and Deluxe/ Premium plans from December 6. Players would be allowed to claim the games until January 3, 2023. The leak further added that all the games will be accessible on PS4 and PS5 alike.

Mass Effect Legendary Edition is surely going to be one of the major attractions out of three names leaked in the recent claims. It will be packing the entire sci-fi trilogy of Bioware, which is critically acclaimed and known for using its branching narratives. If we go by the subtitle, it appears that there will be visual enhancements tailored to a new generation. Moreover, it also indicated more than 40 DLCs from the three titles which further include armour, promo weapons, and packs.

Out of the three games, another that could be worth getting your hands on is Biomutant. It is a decently thrilling game that allows players to unleash hell in a post-apocalyptic world. Players have the option to get into gunplays and martial art combat. The third leaked title is Divine Knockout. It is a combat game, which will be launched across PlayStation and PCs along with the other two games on December 6.

It is being anticipated in the media reports that Divine Knockout would be the launch title along with Stray. Although both would be on PlayStation Plas, the former would be restricted to certain PS Plus tiers. Moreover, it is widely accepted now amongst players that no new first-party titles such as Horizon Forbidden West or God of War Ragnarök should be expected to be released on Sony monthly subscription service. The story, however, is different for Xbox models.

In a piece of separate news, Sony’s financial report was released previously this month and it revealed how the company lost 2 million PS Plus subscribers. The drop was particularly registered after its relaunch that happened in June. The total number of subscribers dropped from 47.3 million to 45.4 million in a single financial quarter of the current financial year. The company financial report further suggested that the monthly active users of PlayStation Network (PSN) also registered a noticeable drop to 102 million. In terms of comparison, it is a 1.4 million decline as compared to the numbers from a year before.

As of now, PS Plus’ Essential, Extra, and Deluxe/ Premium plan subscribers can go ahead can access Japan-set Soulslike sequel Nioh 2, the atmospheric physics game Heavenly Bodies, and the entire Lego Harry Potter Collection. The last date for making this selection is December 5, a day before the next month’s titles are officially released to subscribers.
