OPPO is set to launch the next-generation Reno smartphones, OPPO Reno 17 and Reno 17 Pro, in China later this month. Before the formal announcement, the screen size, CPU, battery capacity and camera specifications of both smartphones have surfaced online. The leak gives potential consumers an early look at how OPPO plans to upgrade its popular Reno portfolio for late 2026.

OPPO Reno 17 Specifications and Features
The OPPO Reno 17 features a 6.59-inch flat display with a centred punch-hole cutout for the selfie camera. It provides a smooth 120Hz or up to 144Hz refresh rate for scrolling and gaming. Powering the device under the hood is the MediaTek Dimensity 8550 Super chipset that is designed to manage daily multitasking, demanding applications and gaming without thermal throttling.
The Reno 17 boasts a 50MP periscope telephoto camera for crisp zoomed-in images. Details regarding the main and ultrawide sensors are yet unknown. It has an 8,000mAh battery, which is a big jump in capacity compared to past generations to help keep the device operating longer on a single charge. The new OPPO Reno 17 will use OPPO’s ColorOS software built on the latest Android version. The handset is available in versatile configurations, including 8GB + 256GB, 12GB + 256GB and 12GB + 512GB. The Pro version has a 6.3-inch screen, so it’s slightly smaller and more hand-friendly than the standard Reno 17 version. The phone is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8550 processor, which is meant to handle heavy applications and provide quicker overall performance.
The new Reno 17 Pro also comes with a high-end 50MP periscope telephoto camera, as well as a 7,200mAh battery and ColorOS based on Android. OPPO Reno 17 Series Launch Timeline
The OPPO Reno 17 series has been officially confirmed to make its China debut in November 2026. The OPPO’s flagship smartphones are also said to be sharing the stage with other new devices, including the OPPO Pad Air 6 and OPPO Watch 5. Pre-orders are currently available in China via official retail channels. However, OPPO has not specified the exact day of the launch event.
OPPO has also not officially announced a timeline for global markets, but industry observers estimate the India launch to take place in a few weeks to a couple of months after the China debut.

The OPPO Reno 17 comes with a bigger 6.5-inch screen, while the Reno 17 Pro has a slightly smaller 6.3-inch display. The Reno 17 comes with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 4, while the Reno 17 Pro is powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 8550. Both models include a 50MP periscope camera, but complete sensor specifications might disclose small tuning discrepancies.
The standard Reno 17 sports a bigger 8,000mAh battery, whilst the Pro model has a 7,200mAh cell. Both variants have the same memory configurations, with up to 12GB RAM and 512GB storage. OPPO has not yet revealed the exact pricing of its upcoming Reno 17 series. However, the Pro model is likely to come with a higher price tag.
