Bengaluru-based e-commerce platform Meesho recently came under the radar of netizens for selling T-shirts that feature images of notorious gangster Lawrence Bishnoi.

The sale of such gangster-themed merchandise has raised concerns about online radicalisation, especially since these products can influence younger audiences.

Journalist Alishan Jafri first highlighted the listings on X (previously Twitter) calling it a troubling case of “India’s online radicalisation.”

“People are literally selling gangster merchandise on platforms like Meesho and Teeshopper. This is just one example of India’s latest online radicalisation,” Jafri posted on X. Jafri shared screenshots of these T-shirts available on Meesho, an e-commerce platform that connects suppliers, resellers and customers.

He further commented, “At a time when the police and NIA are struggling to stop youths from joining gang crime, social media influencers are making quick money by promoting gang content and glorifying gangsters.”

The screenshot shared by Jafri displayed white T-shirts with Lawrence Bishnoi’s image and in some cases, the words “Gangster” and “Real Hero” in bold print. Available for all sizes including 8 to 14-year-olds, these T-shirts were being sold at prices as low as Rs 168.

Meesho Faces Social Media Backlash

After the post went viral on X, users on the platform were quick to heavily criticise Meesho for allowing such products on its platform.

A user commented, “What is this nonsense?” Another user jibed, “Dhandha mein no compromise; paisa toh paisa hota hai.”

One user highlighted, “Even Dawood Ibrahim didn’t have this level of popularity.” Several users also blamed OTT platforms and web series like Mirzapur for glorifying gangster violence.

Here are some of the reactions.

Meesho Responds to Allegations, Removes Listings

In response to the backlash, Meesho removed the T-shirts featuring Lawrence Bishnoi from its site. While these products were still accessible during the early hours, they were no longer available later in the day.

“We have taken immediate action to deactivate the products. Meesho remains committed to providing a safe and trusted shopping platform for all our users,” a Meesho spokesperson was quoted in multiple media reports.

Lawrence Bishnoi is a notorious figure in India’s underworld and has been involved in numerous high-profile crimes, including the murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala.

The Bishnoi gang has also been linked to the recent killing of NCP leader Baba Siddique.

Samsung’s Galaxy Ring 2 Rumored to Launch Sooner Than Expected, Apple Too Developing ‘Ring-Type Wearable’

After the Samsung Galaxy Ring launch in July this year, many tech news portals and online tech enthusiasts speculated that the next Galaxy Ring will arrive around the same time next year. However, it is now being suggested that Samsung may be speeding up plans for its next-generation Galaxy Ring.

According to a recent leak from a Korean blog, the Galaxy Ring 2 might hit the market “a bit earlier” than originally planned. The source did not provide a specific launch date.

image
Tip about Galaxy Ring 2 appeared on the Korean online platform Naver. (Translated from Korean via Google Translate)

Here’s everything revealed in the recent leak.

Galaxy Ring 2 To Launch Sooner

As the Korean online platform Naver claimed that Galaxy Ring 2 is coming “a bit earlier than originally scheduled”, tech enthusiasts are now speculating about a possible launch time.

While launching alongside the Galaxy S25 Ultra in January could be an option, it also seems difficult considering how little time is remaining. Releasing it in July wouldn’t be much earlier than the first ring’s launch either. So, there’s speculation Samsung could be eyeing a launch window somewhere in between.

According to a recent Gizmochina report, hosting a standalone event just for the Galaxy Ring 2 doesn’t quite fit Samsung’s typical strategy. This makes guessing the exact timing a bit difficult.

Still, if the rumours of a sooner-than-expected launch are true, a January debut alongside the Galaxy S25 series might be possible.

Galaxy Ring 2 – Rumoured Upgrades

The Korean leak didn’t only hint about an earlier launch but indicated what can be expected from the next-generation Galaxy Ring.

According to the leaker, the Galaxy Ring 2 is expected to offer some key improvements including a slimmer design, a better battery and ‘new features.’

However, no specific details have been shared yet.

Apple Developing Smart Ring

The same Korean leaker also hinted at Apple’s interest in similar wearable tech.

Apple is reportedly developing its own ‘ring-type wearable’ while also exploring other similar devices like a band-style wearable and smart glasses. As per Gizmochina, Apple has also filed patents for both a smart ring and smart glasses, so these ideas are in line with previous reports.

However, the rumoured “band-type” device remains a bit mysterious—could it resemble something like a Whoop fitness band?

Since these are early rumours from unverified sources, it’s best to take this information with a pinch of salt. We still can’t confirm these plans will fully materialise.

FAQs

Q1. When is the Samsung Galaxy Ring 2 expected to launch?

Answer. The Galaxy Ring 2 might hit the market “a bit earlier” than originally planned, with speculation about a possible launch alongside the Galaxy S25 Ultra in January.

Q2. What are the rumoured upgrades for the Galaxy Ring 2?

Answer. The Galaxy Ring 2 is expected to offer key improvements, including a slimmer design, a better battery, and new features.

Q3. What similar wearable tech is Apple reportedly developing?

Answer. Apple is reportedly developing its own ‘ring-type wearable,’ as well as exploring other devices like a band-style wearable and smart glasses, with patents filed for both a smart ring and smart glasses.

Honor unveiled the Magic 7 lineup consisting of Magic 7 and Magic 7 Pro recently in China.

However, the brand appears to be working on expanding the lineup with a new budget-friendly Magic 7 Lite model.

Hints about this Lite variant started doing rounds in the tech community after it was spotted in both the Google Play Supported Devices and Play Console databases recently.

There were previous reports speculating that a follow-up of last year’s Magic 6 Lite is on the way. However, the recent appearance in console listings suggests that the Magic 7 Lite may not be an entirely new model as many had hoped.

image
Honor Magic 7 Lite was found listed with model number HNBRP-Q1 in the Play Console database. (Screenshot credit – Gizmochina)

According to the Play Console listing, Magic 7 Lite has the same model number HNBRP-Q1 as the recently launched Honor X9c in Malaysia. This could mean we will only be getting a rebranded version on X9c.

While the Play Console listing labels the device as the Magic 7 Lite, it appears that beyond the name, there may be minimal differences in specs.

The listing reveals that the phone will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 SoC with an  Adreno 619 GPU and will come with a substantial 12GB of RAM.

However, details on storage and camera specs remain unknown for now.

The device is also listed with the same resolution of 1224×2700 as the Honor X9c, supporting the rumour that it could be a rebranded model.

If this turns out to be true then the Magic 7 Lite may also feature a large 6,600mAh battery, a 6.78-inch curved OLED display and durable construction with a 2.2-meter drop resistance rating.

Honor X9c: Likely a regional rebrand of the Magic 7 Lite

With the recent launch of the Honor X9c, it can be easily assumed that the Magic 7 Lite is simply a rebranded version for a different region.

However, Honor could still have some unique tweaks planned for this Lite variant.

We’ll need to wait for an official announcement to confirm all the details.

Apple to Upgrade AI Cloud Computers with Powerful M4 Chip Next Year

Rumours are doing rounds that Apple is planning to upgrade its AI-focused cloud servers soon.

Apple reportedly working to upgrade servers that are currently running on the M2 Ultra chip to the M4 chip starting next year.

These specialised servers are known as Private Cloud Compute (PCC) modules and are designed to handle certain Apple Intelligence requests securely in the cloud.

A report from Nikkei Asia reveals that Apple is in talks with Foxconn to set up new AI servers in Taiwan.

According to sources, this location is important as it will allow Apple to “tap the engineering talent and R&D resources” that also worked for Nvidia, also a Foxconn client with a strong presence in the region.

Apple Intelligence combines on-device and cloud processing to handle various requests. When an on-device language model can’t fulfil a request, the PCC modules process it with end-to-end encryption.

As Apple describes it: “For the first time ever, Private Cloud Compute extends the industry-leading security and privacy of Apple devices into the cloud, making sure that personal user data sent to PCC isn’t accessible to anyone other than the user — not even to Apple. Built with custom Apple silicon and a hardened operating system designed for privacy, we believe PCC is the most advanced security architecture ever deployed for cloud AI compute at scale.”

Earlier this year, 9to5Mac first reported on Apple’s PCC modules, noting that while most currently use the M2 Ultra chip, some lighter-use modules run on the M1 chip.

Now, according to the Nikkei Asia report, Apple’s upcoming PCC modules will feature the newly introduced M4 chip, which brings notable improvements to AI processing.

The M4 series offers significant advances for handling AI tasks, so it’s not surprising that Apple would choose this chip for its cloud servers.

While the report doesn’t specify which M4 variant Apple will use, it’s likely to be the yet-to-be-announced M4 Ultra chip, given Apple’s recent releases of the M4 Pro and M4 Max versions.

FAQs

Q1. What is Apple planning to upgrade in its AI-focused cloud servers next year?

Answer. Apple plans to upgrade its AI-focused cloud servers from the M2 Ultra chip to the M4 chip starting next year.

Q2. Where is Apple setting up new AI servers, and why is this location important?

Answer. Apple is in talks with Foxconn to set up new AI servers in Taiwan. This location is important because it allows Apple to “tap the engineering talent and R&D resources” that also worked for Nvidia, a Foxconn client with a strong presence in the region.

Many industry experts and tech enthusiasts have been speculating that Apple seems to dwindling from its dominating position in the tech world lately.

There have been signs of Apple’s downward slope in the sales data for a while now.

The arguably common perception today is that Apple needs to reinvent itself. And there always have been arguments in favour of Apple and its upcoming innovations as well.

However, this is probably the first time the Cupertino giant admitted that the future might not be as profitable.

Apple has warned its investors about keeping their expectations in check for the future. The company reportedly has admitted that future Apple products might never be as profitable as the iPhone.

However, Apple maintained that it is because of the exploration of newer technologies such as mixed-reality headsets and artificial intelligence.

According to a Financial Times report, Apple has added a “Business Risk” heading in its latest annual report to issue the warning to its investors.

Apple reportedly wrote in the report, “New products, services and technologies may replace or supersede existing offerings and may produce lower revenues and lower profit margins, which can materially adversely impact the company’s business, results of operations and financial condition.”

The company has been actively working to integrate consumer AI features into its products to take on competitive tech companies such as Google and Meta.

Recently, Apple introduced its initial Apple Intelligence features and has announced more upcoming enhancements including a ChatGPT integration.

Meanwhile, to support this warning we have the sales data of one of Apple’s most hyped products amongst categories other than the iPhone.

The Apple Vision Pro headset has registered modest sales since launch with experts believing it to be likely influenced by its steep $3,499 (INR 2,95,077) price tag.

FAQs

Q1. Why has Apple warned its investors about future product profitability?

Answer. Apple has warned its investors that future products might not be as profitable as the iPhone. The company admitted that new products, services, and technologies might produce lower revenues and profit margins, which can materially adversely impact the business.

Q2. How have the sales of the Apple Vision Pro headset been since its launch?

Answer. The Apple Vision Pro headset has seen modest sales, likely due to its high $3,499 (INR 2,95,077) price tag.

Report Reveals Pixel 9 Pro’s Parts Cost Less Than iPhone 16 Pro’s

0

Highlights

  • The report compared the estimated cost of parts (BOM) for Google’s Pixel 9 Pro and Apple’s iPhone 16 Pro.
  • The Pixel 9 Pro’s BOM is significantly cheaper at $406 (approx INR 34,227) compared to the iPhone 16 Pro’s $568 (approx INR 47,884).
  • The Pixel 9 Pro’s BOM is 11% lower than last year’s Pixel 8 Pro.
  • The iPhone 16 Pro’s BOM is 6% higher than last year’s iPhone 15 Pro.

Apple iPhone 16 often gets compared with Google’s Pixel 9 series.

We have seen reviewers comparing the design, camera and performance of both phones since their launch endlessly.

Now we are getting comparison reports of both series bills of materials, which show Pixel 9 Pro a step ahead of than iPhone 16 Pro.

A new report from Japan today breaks down the estimated cost of parts or bill of materials (BOM) for Google’s Pixel 9 Pro and Apple’s iPhone 16 Pro.

It is important to note that this BOM calculation only accounts for the cost of components and does not include R&D or marketing expenses, which tend to be mostly unaccountable.

Details of the Japanese report were also shared by a trusted tipster on X (previously Twitter).

image
Google Pixel 9 Pro bill of materials shared by Japanese report. (Image credit – GSMArena)

If we start by assuming the report is accurate then the Pixel 9 Pro is considerably cheaper to produce than the iPhone 16 Pro.

The Pixel’s BOM is estimated at $406 (approx INR 34,227), while the iPhone’s BOM reportedly adds up to $568 (approx INR 47,884).

This suggests that purely based on parts, the Pixel 9 Pro is less costly to make than the iPhone 16 Pro, despite both models starting at $999 (approx INR 84,219).

The Pixel 9 Pro’s BOM is actually 11% lower than that of last year’s Pixel 8 Pro. However, this comparison has limitations, as the Pixel 9 Pro is smaller than the Pixel 8 Pro, with a smaller screen and battery that are likely less costly.

Meanwhile, the iPhone 16 Pro’s BOM is 6% higher than last year’s iPhone 15 Pro.

The report estimates that the iPhone’s chipset alone costs $135 (approx INR 11,380), the display $110 (approx INR 9,273), and the camera components $91 (approx INR 7,671).

For the Pixel, the chipset is estimated at $80 (approx INR 6,744), the display at $75 (approx INR 6,322), and the camera components at $61 (approx INR 5,142).

These BOM estimates offer a glimpse into the different costs of key components, even as both smartphones are priced identically for consumers at $999 (approx INR 84,219).

The Galaxy S25 Ultra case has a large cutout for four camera sensors, while the Galaxy S25 and S25+ have a triple-lens setup.

The cases show consistent button placements with power and volume cutouts on the left side across all models.

The cases confirm no additional buttons for  Samsung’s new lineup unlike the iPhone 16 or OPPO Find X8 Pro

Screen protector images hint that all models, including the Ultra, will feature flatter displays with slimmer bezels, giving a sleek and modern look.

Galaxy S25 Series – Dimensions

The Galaxy S25 series dimensions also surfaced via aluminium dummies. The leaked dummies reveal a slimmer profile across models.

The Galaxy S25 measures 146.94 x 70.46 x 7.25 mm, making it thinner than the Galaxy S24.

The S25+ measures 158.44 x 75.79 x 7.35 mm, also slimmer than its predecessor.

The Galaxy S25 Ultra with dimensions of 162.82 x 77.65 x 8.25 mm is both narrower and slimmer, likely due to reduced bezel size.

The Galaxy S25 Ultra is expected to be powered by a custom Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, specially optimized as a “For Galaxy” edition, built on a 3nm process.

Qualcomm claims this processor delivers a 45% boost in CPU performance and a 44% increase in power efficiency compared to previous generations.

Recent Geekbench tests for the Galaxy S25 Ultra (model SM-S938U) show impressive single-core and multi-core scores of 3,148 and 10,236, reflecting a 35% boost in single-core and a 45% increase in multi-core performance compared to the Galaxy S24 Ultra.

The Samsung Galaxy S25+ with the model number SM-S936B reveals Exynos 2500 3nm chip likely for the European market.

Samsung reportedly considered its own Exynos 2500 chipset for the Galaxy S25 series but appears to have settled on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite for global models, with the Exynos 2500 possibly limited to select regions. While the S25 Ultra’s scores are slightly lower than those of the OnePlus 13’s standard Snapdragon 8 Elite (3,296 in single-core), Samsung’s custom tuning may yield better performance by launch.

The Galaxy S25 Ultra is expected to retain its 12GB RAM configuration, consistent with the Galaxy S22 Ultra.

Meanwhile, the Galaxy S25+ was recently spotted on Geekbench with Samsung’s Exynos 2500 processor, listed as model SM-S936B for the European market.

The device scored 2,359 in single-core and 8,141 in multi-core on Geekbench 6, with a configuration of 12GB RAM running Android 15.

The Exynos 2500 chip uses a 10-core CPU with a clock speed up to 3.3GHz and features Samsung’s Xclipse 950 GPU based on AMD’s RDNA architecture, which hints at improved graphics performance. While the Exynos 2500’s multi-core score approaches that of the Snapdragon 8 Elite, it still falls behind in single-core performance.
