The tech company Nothing, renowned for its consumer-oriented approach, has recently disclosed the launch of its second Open Beta for the impending Nothing OS 2.5, which is built atop the Android 14 platform.
As part of its ongoing efforts to enhance user experience, Nothing is extending its Beta testing to include the Phone (2).
This latest Beta version is an avenue for enthusiasts to explore the company’s latest enhancements ahead of a general release, encompassing novel functionalities for the Glyph interface as well as improvements spurred by feedback from the initial Beta.
Carl Pei, a key figure at Nothing, is expected to offer an in-depth look at Nothing OS 2.5, which is set for release later in the year, and will also commemorate the brand’s three-year milestone with a special address.

Participants who are already part of the Beta testing program can initiate the update to Open Beta 2 by navigating to the ‘System Update’ section found within the ‘System’ settings on their device.

Details on when the full Android 14 update will be made available to Nothing’s Phone (1) and Phone (2) will be communicated in due course.
The Nothing OS 2.5 Open Beta is a pre-release version of Nothing’s upcoming operating system built on Android 14. It allows users to test new features, such as improvements to the Glyph Interface and other enhancements based on user feedback, before the general release.
The Open Beta introduces Glyph Progress for Google Calendar, time presets for the Glyph Timer, a new Glyph animation for NFC, a Predictive Back feature for native apps, customizable double-tap power button actions, and better three-finger swipe gesture reliability.
Existing Beta testers can update to Open Beta 2 by going to the ‘System Update’ section within the ‘System’ settings on their device. The process is designed to be seamless and user-friendly.
