Microsoft has made some odd changes to Windows 11 that many users are not happy about.
First, they started showing app recommendations on the Start menu, which was criticized by a former Microsoft employee and Windows 11 users.
Now, they’ve hidden the ‘Sign out’ button behind a three-dot menu in the new Account Manager feature.
In the recentWindows 11 Insider Preview Build 22635.3500 for Beta channel users, Microsoft has introduced a new Account Manager.
The ‘Sign out’ button is no longer easily visible – it’s tucked away in a submenu that you can only access by clicking the three-dot menu.
Bizarrely, Microsoft seems to think it’s a good idea to show your OneDrive storage and Xbox Game Pass subscription expiry date prominently, instead of the ‘Sign out’ button.
They’ve also moved the ‘Lock’ button from its previous location to the power menu, where it now sits alongside options like ‘Shut down’, ‘Restart’, and ‘Sleep’.
Microsoft claims the new Account Manager design makes it easier to manage account settings and view subscriptions at a glance.
However, hiding commonly used functions like ‘Sign out’ is likely to frustrate and confuse many users.
The recent Windows 11 update has introduced an Account Manager that hides the ‘Sign out’ button behind a three-dot menu, a move that has been unpopular among users.
In the updated Windows 11, the ‘Sign out’ option is now located in a submenu within the Account Manager, accessed by clicking a three-dot menu.
Microsoft has relocated the ‘Lock’ button to the power menu, positioning it with other options like ‘Shut down’, ‘Restart’, and ‘Sleep’ to supposedly streamline the user interface.
Microsoft claims that the redesign, including the new Account Manager, aims to simplify managing account settings and quickly viewing subscription details.
Many users have expressed frustration with the new Windows 11 layout, particularly criticizing the decision to hide frequently used functions like the ‘Sign out’ button.
