The tipster also added that the device would pack a large 5000 mAh battery. Similar to the Neo 7, it would also bring support for 120W fast charging tech.

The smartphone would run on FuntouchOS 13 based on Android 13 out of the box.
The Dimensity 9200+ chipset would pair with up to 16GB of RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage.

A few reports suggest that iQOO might launch the smartphone in China on May 2023. The vanilla Neo 8 with Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC would compete against OnePlus 11R (Ace 2 in China), Redmi K60 and more.

The device would be equipped with a 50MP primary rear camera. It is tipped to feature an AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution. Other details of the smartphone are under wraps.
iQOO might launch the smartphone in India, but the event might be scheduled for Q3 of 2023. We will update you guys once more details about the upcoming products are known.

Samsung Galaxy S24 Series Tipped to Pack More RAM and Storage; could Feature an Exynos 2400 SoC Variant

Samsung Galaxy S24 Series

HIGHLIGHTS

* Samsung Galaxy S24 flagship series tipped to get more RAM and storage
* The Korean smartphone maker could boost the base storage to 256GB and also equip the devices with 12GB RAM
* Rumours also suggest the inclusion of the Exynos 2400 chipset variant in the mix.

Samsung’s flagship smartphone for 2024, the Samsung Galaxy S24 series, could be launched with more RAM and more storage. The flagship-grade smartphone series from the Korean tech giant could also pack in the Exynos 2400 chipset that’s developed in-house.

These leaks come courtesy of a tipster on Twitter who goes by the name Tarun Vats and a Korean tipster account.

The Samsung Galaxy S24 series was also recently tipped to get a new and faster 144Hz high refresh rate display.

Samsung Galaxy S23 series

Samsung Galaxy S23 series was launched about a couple of months ago in India and other markets.

The new Galaxy S23 series got many upgrades, such as a 200MP main camera in the S23 Ultra, a new design for the S23 and S23 Plus and a customised version of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC for all three phones.

It has been a few weeks since the S23 series went on sale in India and other markets and the rumour mill has already starting churning out details about the upcoming Galaxy S24 series.

A new leak has now revealed the RAM, storage and some other details of the Samsung Galaxy S24 series.

A separate report also claims that the Galaxy S24 series will revive Samsung’s in-house Exynos SoC next year.

Let’s take a look at the Samsung Galaxy S24 series early leaks, specifications, features and other details known so far.

Samsung Galaxy S24 Series tipped to get more power under the hood

Samsung Galaxy S24 Series

The upcoming Samsung Galaxy S24 series is about 10 months away from launch, however, that doesn’t deter tipsters from speculating about it.

A new tweet now suggests that the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S24 flagship series could now get improved hardware under the skin.

The tipster claims that the Samsung Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+ could get more RAM in the figure of 12GB instead of the usual 8GB. The base storage option could also be boosted to 256GB.

Samsung Galaxy S23 series

The Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra which will be the most expensive device out of the lineup is expected to be equipped with up to 16GB of RAM. This variant could be paired with 512GB or 1TB of internal storage. Samsung could continue to offer a 12GB RAM base variant as is the case with the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra.

A Korean report suggests that the upcoming flagship series from Samsung for 2024 could also feature an Exynos 2400 chipset-based variant.

The Exynos 2400 SoC could get a 10-core CPU with one Prime X4 core, two Cortex-A720 gold cores, 3x Cortex-A720 silver cores and four Cortex-A520 efficiency cores.

However, reliable tipster Ice Universe has nullified such rumours suggesting that the chances of such are next to none.

Samsung Galaxy S24 Series: What the Early Leaks Suggest

Samsung Galaxy S24 Series

Samsung Galaxy S24 series is months away from its rumoured launch timeline.
The Galaxy S24 series might debut in February 2024.

Almost 10 months ahead of the rumoured launch, a new leak claims that the Galaxy S24, S24 Plus and S24 Ultra will get an upgrade in the RAM and storage departments.

The base models of all three Galaxy S series flagships launching next year are said to pack more RAM.

The Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24 Plus will reportedly have 12GB of RAM in their base models.

In comparison, the Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23 Plus have 8GB of RAM as standard. The storage capacity of the baseline S24 and S24 Plus is also said to increase.

The tipster claims that the S24 and S24 Plus will come with 256GB of storage.

Samsung Galaxy S23 series

While the Galaxy S23 is available in 128GB and 256GB storage options, the S23 Plus is available in 256GB and 512GB storage options. Therefore, there is a possibility that the base model of the vanilla S24 also gets 256GB of storage.

The tipster also revealed that the Galaxy S24 Ultra will sit at the top of the lineup, will feature up to 16GB of RAM.
Samsung might launch the phone with the base model packing 12GB of RAM, which is also the case with the Galaxy S23 Ultra. The 16GB RAM variant could possibly pack 512GB or 1TB of storage.
If the leaked details are true, the Galaxy S24 Ultra will possibly be the first Samsung smartphone to offer a 16GB RAM option.

A separate report from Korea suggests that the upcoming Galaxy S24 series might feature an Exynos 2400 SoC variant. Samsung will launch a Snapdragon variant of the phone as well.

The rumoured Exynos 2400 SoC is tipped to feature a 10-core CPU with one Prime X4 core, two Cortex-A720 gold cores, 3x Cortex-A720 silver cores and four Cortex-A520 efficiency cores.

However, tipster Ice Universe, who is one of the reliable tipsters out there, says otherwise.

While some of the leaks look impressive, it is too early to say that the details are anywhere close to being legitimate.

FAQ’s on Samsung Galaxy S24

1) Is Samsung to reintroduce Exynos in Galaxy smartphones ?

Ans) Samsung initially used Galaxy S series with ‘Snapdragon,’ an AP produced by Exynos and Qualcomm. Samsung’s share in the global AP market has shrunk sharply, falling to 5th place with 7% in the third quarter of last year.

This is due to increased competition from products designed by competitors such as Taiwan’s MediaTek, even in entry-level models. Qualcomm took second place with 31%, followed by Apple in third place and China’s UniSOC in fourth place.

2) Is Exynos yield and heat problems leading to cost burden for Samsung?

Ans) The sluggishness of Exynos has led to a cost burden for Samsung’s mobile experience (MX) division, which produces smartphones. Mobile AP purchases last year increased by about 49.9% year-on-year to 9,313.8 billion won.

The DX division accounted for 12.8% of the total purchase amount, which was the largest, beating out camera modules and display panels. The rapid increase in usage of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon AP is causing an increased burden on mobile AP purchasers.

3) What are Samsung’s Exynos improvement and plans for future development?

Ans) Samsung Electronics has redesigned the Exynos 2200 to increase its presence in the AP market and improve yield. The Galaxy S23 FE with the Exynos 2200 is expected to release in Q4 2023. Samsung is also developing the Exynos 2400 for use in the Galaxy S24 next year.

4) What is Exynos lineup in low-end smartphones?

Ans) Samsung Electronics is expanding its Exynos lineup in both flagship and low-end smartphones, represented by the A series.

The proportion of A series sales determines the company’s smartphone performance for the year. The recently launched Exynos 1380 is evaluated as having premium AP performance despite being low-end. The lower model Exynos 1330 is also expected to be installed in the A14 series and target emerging markets such as India.

Samsung Electronics is speeding up the development of next-generation APs like Galaxy-specific chips to regain the position it lost to Qualcomm in the premium market. The company’s System LSI Division set up the ‘AP Solution Development Team’ and hired core developers from AMD and ARM to optimize AP and CPU research.

5) How has Samsung expanded Exynos brand in communication chip market?

Ans) Samsung Electronics expands the Exynos brand and aims to enter the communication chip market beyond the AP. The first product of the Exynos Connect brand, UWB-based short-range wireless communication semiconductor ‘Exynos Connect U100’, is recently launched.

It accurately measures distance and location between devices in several centimeters range, suitable for smart home and factory. The product’s optimized power mode makes it useful for IoT devices like mobile or location-aware tags that need to operate with a low-capacity battery for a long time.

1) What is the price of Sony WF-C700 ?

Ans) The Sony WF-C700 is one of Sony’s mid-range TWS earbuds worldwide. The company has currently launched its earbuds in Europe and is likely to bring them to India as well.
The WF-C700 will be available in Europe for EUR 130, which is roughly Rs 11,600.

2) What are the colours available in Sony WF-C700?

Ans) The earbuds are available in multiple colour options. These include black, white, lavender and sage green.

3) What are the specifications of Sony WF -C700?

Ans) The earbuds have an in-ear design and feature silicone ear tips. Sony’s new wireless earbuds come with support for Active Noise Cancellation (ANC). The feature also provides support for adaptive sound control and adjusts noise cancellation based on the user’s activity. For instance, when you are walking or waiting for the bus, the earbuds will switch to Ambient Mode so that you can be aware of the surrounding.

Upon detecting no movement or when you have entered the bus, the earbuds will switch back to ANC. Each earbud weighs about 4.6 grams. The earbuds come packed in a capsule-shaped charging case made of plastic.

Sony is also adding support for its in-house Digital Sound Enhancement Engine (DSEE), which can upscale tracks and boost the bass to offer a personalised sound experience. In addition to this, there is support for 360 Reality Audio spatial audio and equaliser fine-tuning via the Headphones Connect app.

The earbuds feature a physical button, which can be programmed for certain tasks such as play/ pause music, activate noise cancellation or voice assistant, etc.

The earbuds are claimed to offer 7.5 hours of music playback with ANC enabled.
When ANC is disabled, the earbuds should last for about 10 hours on a single charge, according to Sony.

In addition to this, the charging case will add another complete charge cycles. This means that the case will provide up to 15 hours of juice when ANC is enabled or 20 hours when it is disabled.

There is no word on the India launch timeline of the Sony wireless earbuds. However, we can expect them to be available soon.

The India price of the WF-C700 could be lower than the European market. However, compared to its predecessor, the WF-C500, the TWS earbuds might attract a higher due to the addition of several features.

4) What Sony WF-C700N: what we know so far?

Ans) According to the MySmartPrice report, the Sony WF-C700N will come in four colour variants – white, black, green and purple. It will feature an elongated cylindrical charging case that looks similar to what OnePlus offered with its older
generation Buds, but is different from what Sony previously offered with its WF-1000XM4. The earbuds have a similar design to the latter, with a circular no-stalk design and eartips.

The earbuds will charge via USB-C, and take 90 minutes to fully charge. It will also take 10 minutes of charging to offer one hour of playback. With noise cancelling switched on, the C700N will offer a claimed 15 hours of playback.
Finally, there will also be multi-device connectivity with the WF-C70ON, which will allow users to switch between two actively connected Bluetooth devices simultaneously.

In terms of the feature set, the Sony WF-C700N will seemingly come with digital noise cancellation with wind noise suppression, and Sony’s trademark Digital Sound Enhancement Engine (DSEE) HX, which will upgrade streaming tracks to the highest possible quality.

There is no word so far on the pricing of the Sony WF-C700N earbuds, but given that the C500N was priced at Rs 5,990, the C700N should be priced at under Rs 10,000 as well.
The Sony WH-1000XM5’s blue colour variant, meanwhile, is also expected to launch soon – although it is not clear as to which markets would Sony release the new variant in.

5) What are Sony WF-C70ON Leaked Features?

Ans) According to a Sony fan site, The Walkman Blog, the new Sony WF-C700N will come with Active Noise Cancellation. Yes, you read that right.
Active Noise Cancellation is a budget offering from Sony. Does that sound a little bit familiar to you?

Well, you might be thinking about the recently released WH-CH720N.
That was a pair of budget-friendly headphones that offered high-end features.
In fact, people compare it against the flagship WH-1000XM5 headphones.

And the case might be the same for the Sony WF-C700N. That is, the new buds will be compared to the currently available WF-1000XM4 series flagship earphones.
Nonetheless, the leak from The Walkman Blog also confirmed that the Sony WF-C700N would come with Bluetooth 5.2.
Looking back, the Sony WF-C500N came with Bluetooth 5.0.
That means that the new pair of buds will offer an upgrade in terms of the wireless range and connection stability.

Apple has officially confirmed that it is opening its first retail store in India and will be called Apple BKC.

Apple was in talks of opening its own retail store in India for quite some time and it’s finally happening.

Apple revealed the barricade of its first retail store in India at Jio World Drive Mall, Mumbai officially marking the upcoming opening of Apple BKC.

Apple 'Make in India'

The Apple BKC store is inspired by the iconic Kaali Peeli taxi art unique to Mumbai. The creative includes colourful interpretations of the decals combined with many Apple products and services that will be available for visitors.

The creative for the store features a bright welcome to people passing by with the classic Apple greeting “Hello Mumbai”.

To celebrate the opening of the new store, Apple fans can download the new Apple BKC wallpaper and also check out a new playlist on Apple Music for the launch of its first store in India.

The Apple BKC store will be open to public in April itself and Apple reportedly has plans to open another retail store in New Delhi later.

Apple recently announced that it has set another all-time revenue record for the Indian market.

Apple 'Make in India'

“We set a quarterly revenue record and grew very strong double digits year over year and so we feel very good about how we performed,” said Apple CEO Tim Cook said in February.

Apple sold 2 million iPhones in India in the holiday quarter (Q4) of 2022, registering 18 per cent growth (quarter-on-quarter) for its flagship device. The India market share of iPhones reached 5.5% for 2022, an 11% growth (year-on-year).

That’s despite the headwinds that we talked about. India is a hugely exciting market for us and a major focus.

We broughtAthe online store there in 2020. We will soon bring Apple Retail there,” he added February.

Despite the pandemic, Apple has continued to grow in India. “That’s the reason why we are investing there by bringing retail there, bringing the online store there and putting out a significant amount of energy there. I’m very bullish on India,” said Cook.

Apple’s new retail store in Mumbai

Apple 'Make in India'

To celebrate the opening of the new store, visitors can download the new Apple BKC wallpaper and move to the sounds of Mumbai with a specially curated playlist Apple Music.

The exact opening date of the Apple Store in India is not revealed but we believe it could happen before the end of this month, April.

Based on earlier reports, the first Apple Store in Jio World Drive Mall will have over 22,000 square feet.

The Cupertino giant started hiring for several posts for retail stores in India back in January.

The company is apparently planning on openings its second store, which will spread across 10,000 to 12,000 square feet in New Delhi’s Select CityWalk mall.

The second Apple retail store in India is expected to be open sometime in June 2023. We’re curious to see what design inspiration will Apple take for the Delhi store.

Apple has grown miles in the premium segment in the last few quarters all thanks to the big festival days sale on various e-commerce platforms that offer iPhones at unbelievable prices.

The company’s push towards the retail stores will only grow its market bigger in the days to come.

Apple ‘Make in India’

Apple 'Make in India'

Apple performed well last year as its ‘Make in India’ shipments grew by 65 per cent by volume and 162 per cent by value in 2022. A report by Counterpoint Research reveals that the company’s value share grew to 25 per cent in 2022, up from 12 per cent in 2021.

Senior Research Analyst, Prachir Singh revealed that Apple’s EMS (Electronics Manufacturing Services) partners Foxconn Hon Hai and Wistron were the fastest growing manufactures among the top 10 in Q4 2022. These two manufacturers even received the PLI incentive in the recent disbursements.

The company adds, “The creative for the store features a bright welcome to people passing by with the classic Apple greeting Hello Mumbai.”

The New Delhi retail store is expected to be located at the popular Select Citywalk Mall in Saket and we might hear more about it as soon as next month. Reports also suggest that the New Delhi store will be over 10,000 square feet.

It is high time that Apple opens up its physical retail stores in India. Until now, Indian customers could buy Apple products from the company’s official website or resellers.

However, the official Apple stores around the world remain a class apart and get thousands of visitors.

It is indeed exciting that Apple is finally bringing its physical stores to India as well. Apart from selling its products, the company regularly holds ‘Today at Apple’ sessions at its stores across the world.

These sessions are usually hosted in collaboration with content creators, to educate customers on ways of using Apple products for creating avant-garde content. In India, the company hosted the ‘Today At Apple’ event at the India Art Fair held in New Delhi this year.

Apple is reportedly dropping iOS 17 support for these iPhones (iPhone X, First-Generation iPad Pro, and More): Check list of eligible & ineligible devices

0
Apple iOS 17

HIGHLIGHTS

* Apple might release the upcoming iOS 17 during the WWDC 2023.
* The latest build for the iPhones might not support three old devices.
* Some older generation iPad models are also tipped to be dropped from the iPadOS 17 compatible devices list.

Apple’s annual WWDC is scheduled for June 5th, 2023. The brand is expected to unveil a bunch of new products during the event, and is also said to announce the latest iOS 17, iPadOS 17, the new watchOS, the new macOs, and more software updates for its ecosystem of products.

While the new updates are supposedly going to bring about new functionality to the Apple devices, a new report claims that there are some iPhones and iPads, which will not be fortunate enough to receive the latest updates.

Let’s take a look at the list of iPhones and iPads that might not receive the upcoming iOS 17 and iPadOS 17 updates.

Blame it on an unpatchable vulnerability Joe Rossignol, MacRumors:

Apple iOS 17

iPhones and iPads equipped with the A5 through A11 chip are affected by a bootrom security vulnerability that Apple cannot patch on these devices, as the bootrom operates in a read-only state. The exploit has allowed for these devices to be perpetually jailbroken on a wide range of iOS versions, allowing users to modify the iOS file system.

iOS 17 and iPadOS 17: supposed list of eligible (and ineligible) Devices

Apple iOS 17

According to a new report by Mac Rumours, Apple might provide the latest iOS 17 update to two generations of iPhones which received the iOS 16 update.

This necessarily means that the iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, and the iPhone X will not make it to the list and won’t receive the latest update.

This also means that the devices launched after the said iPhones will be eligible for the iOS 17 update.

Here’s the list of the potentially eligible iPhones

Apple iOS 17

* iPhone XS
* iPhone XS Max
* iPhone XR
* iPhone 11
* iPhone 11 Pro series
* iPhone 12 series
* iPhone 12 Pro series
* iPhone 13 series
* iPhone 13 Pro series
* iPhone 14 series
* iPhone 14 Pro series

As for the iPads, a few iPad models won’t receive the upcoming iPadOS 17 update, as per the report. If you are using the first-generation iPad Pro 9.7-inch, iPad Pro 12.9-inch, or the iPad (fifth generation), chances are that your device won’t be receiving the latest iPadOS 17 update.

iOS 17 Devices Rumors

Apple iOS 17

The rumor comes from an anonymus user on Twitter who has accurately reported details about Apple software updates in the past. According to this user, iOS 17 and iPadOS 17 will drop support for the following devices:

* iPhone 8
* iPhone 8 Plus
* iPhone X
* iPad (5th generation)
* 9.7-inch iPad Pro (1st generation)
* 12.9-inch iPad Pro (1st generation)

This comes after iOS 16 last year also dropped support for a number of devices, including the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus, the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, the iPhone SE (1st generation), and the iPod touch (7th generation).

As pointed out by MacRumours, Apples decision to drop these devices with iOS 17 could be related to an unpatchable bootrom vulnerability that affects the A5 through A11 chips.

Apple iOS 17

Additionally, Apple will continue to roll out security fixes for iOS 16 even after iOS 17 has been released. iOS 15 has received multiple updates this year to patch major security vulnerabilities.

One more thing to consider, however, is that Apple oftentimes restricts some of the features in a new iOS release to its newest devices.

For instance, iOS 16 features as Live Text are only supported on the iPhone XS, iPhone XR, and later. We also saw this happen with Stage Manager on the iPad, though Apple eventually backtracked those restrictions.

This means that even if your device is supported by iOS 17 or iPadOS 17, you might still miss out on some of the most impressive iOS 17 features.

FAQ’s on iOS 17 Drop IPhone Devices

1) What’s happening on the Apple dropping iOS 17 on iPhone devices ?

Ans) iOS 17 and iPadOS 17 could ditch support for devices powered by Apple’s A10 chips that are affected by an unpatchable security vulnerability, including the iPhone X (2017).

2) Why care about Apple rumoured iOS 17 drop on iPhone devices ?

Ans) The decision will reduce attack vectors in iOS 17.

3) What to do with drop on iOS 17 drop on iPhone devices ?

Ans) If your iPhone or iPad isn’t on the iOS 17 device list, maybe hand it down to a family member and plan purchasing a newer model?

4) iPhone X absent from leaked iOS 17 system requirements?

Ans) iPhones and other Apple devices typically run the latest operating system versions without problems for at least five years before some features become unsupported. That’s a big part of the reason why Apple hardware has such a high resale value.

But with iOS 17, a maintenance update with only a handful of new features, the Cupertino technology giant is understood to remove support for certain older iPhones and iPads powered by the A10 chip for reasons dealing with security.

5) iOS 17 should mark the end of the road for Which devices:?

Ans) * iPhone X
* iPhone 8
* iPhone 8 Plus
* 9.7-inch iPad (1st generation)
* 12.9-inch iPad Pro (1st generation)
* iPad (5th generation)

The only exceptions being (will run ¡OS 17):

* iPad (6th generation)
* iPad (7th generation)
* 10.5-inch iPad Pro (2nd generation)
* 12.9-inch iPad Pro (2nd generation)

6) Which are the four devices that run Apple A10 Fushion or A10x Fushion chip ?

Ans) The four devices above run Apple’s A10 Fusion or A10X Fusion chip. iOS 17 and iPadOS 17 will drop support for the following devices iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone X iPad (5th generation), 9.7-in. iPad Pro (1st generation), 12.9-in. iPad Pro (1st generation).

Base iPhone models will get 120Hz refresh rates only in 2025, claims analyst Ross Young: Apple’s future iPhone launch roadmap leaked: ProMotion in all iPhones, in-display Face ID: iPhone 17 rumours have begun

iPhone 15 Series

HIGHLIGHTS

* This year, Apple will launch the iPhone 15 series.
* iPhone 17 will be the non-Pro model to feature a 120Hz display, as per an analyst.
* The iPhone 17 Pro and the iPhone 17 Ultra are tipped to be launched with under-display Face ID technology.

Tech giant Apple is gearing up to unveil the iPhone 15 series this year. However, ahead of that, analyst Ross Young has come up with some interesting information about the upcoming iPhones.

On the microblogging site Twitter, the analyst, who’s also the CEO of Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC), published a timeline of how the iPhone display will likely evolve in the upcoming years.

iPhone 120Hz Refresh Rate and Under-Display Technology

iPhone 15 Series

Since adding the functionality in 2021, Apple has limited high refresh rate screens to iPhone Pro models.

Currently, the base models of iPhones have a 60Hz display, and the future vanilla iPhone 15 is believed to have the Dynamic Island, which is a Pro-exclusive feature currently. However, according to the analyst, the iPhone 17 will include the 120Hz refresh rate and the Dynamic Island.

It is worth noting that premium mid-range Android phones already feature 120Hz displays, which is a huge dent for Apple.

On the other hand, as per the analyst, the upcoming iPhone 17 Pro and the iPhone 17 Ultra, expected to be launched in 2025, will come with under-display Face ID technology and will house a punch-hole on the front for selfies.

This design approach is projected to last until 2027’s “Pro” iPhone models, such as the iPhone 19 Pro and the iPhone 19 Ultra, which is expected to have a genuinely “full-screen” look, with the facial recognition sensors and camera buried under the display.

Apple iPhone 17 Pro Under-Display Face ID Technology Is A Dynamic Change With Some Concern

Apple is working on under-display Face ID technology, which was expected in Apple 16 pro models, but due to sensor issues, this ambitious project has been taken forward.

In recent days rumours came that Apple iPhone 17 Pro will be loaded with under-display Face ID technology.

Plus, it will have only a 4-megapixel camera, which is remarkably shorter than the 12-megapixel used in Apple iPhone 14 Pro model.

In such a situation, there can be a negative impact on the quality of the selfie camera.
Apple uses a Super Retina display, whose PPI is around 400-500.

On the other hand, under-display front camera technology requires less light, and this also affects the image quality.

The Under display FaceID technology has a circular cutout for the front-facing camera. This design decision will most likely continue until the Apple iPhone 19 Pro/Max models with the facial recognition sensor.

Moreover, the camera is hidden under the display to provide a true “full screen” look.

New 120Hz LTPO Panels Can Come in Use

iPhone 15 Series

“Apple will go completely LTPO in 2025, and even base models will finally get 120Hz refresh” These are the words of Ross Young, a display analyst.

According to leaked news, Apple could offer the entire Apple iPhone 17 lineup with 120Hz displays based on Low-Temperature Polycrystalline Oxide (LTPO) technology. Apple first introduced its LTPO screen technology with the Apple 13 Pro & Apple 13 Pro Max.

The mechanism to enable features like ProMotion and Always On Display was previously exclusive to iPhone Pro models.

Apple will put all iPhone models with LTPO display panels beginning in 2025. This finally brings 120Hz ProMotion functionality to the base iPhone device.

The LTPO display offers refresh rates up to 120Hz depending on usage and supports Always-On-Display (AOD). The non-Pro models could feature LTPS displays.

At the same time, the Pro models of the iPhone 15 and iPhone 16 series will have LTPO displays.

Upcoming iPhone 15 Series

iPhone 15 Series

The upcoming iPhone 15 series is expected to be launched in the second half of this year, including iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max, likely to be renamed iPhone 15 Ultra.

A recent report says the upcoming iPhone 15 Pro will cost more than other “Pro” models. This means that Apple may be thinking about raising the price of the iPhone 15 Pro for the first time since the iPhone X came out.

Additionally, the iPhone 15 Pro Max/Ultra is expected to beat the Xiaomi 13 and the Samsung Galaxy S23 to become the smartphone with the thinnest bezels
ever.

iPhone 17 could see a Huge Change

iPhone 15 Series

Young also claims that in 2025, which is when the iPhone 15 will launch, Apple will start hiding the Face ID camera under the display.

Only on the Pro models, according to his roadmap, while the selfie camera will still use a hole-punch design — meaning the Dynamic Island isn’t going anywhere.

That roadmap claims the iPhone 19 Pro’s front camera (due 2027) will be hidden away under the front panel.

The standard iPhone 19 will then reportedly switch to the under panel Face ID and hole-punch combination that debuted two years earlier.

Interestingly, 2027 will mark the 20th anniversary of the first iPhone, and the 10th anniversary of the iPhone Apple 13 Pro & Apple 13 Pro Max .

You may remember that as the first ‘full screen’ iPhone, and the first to include a notch. It’s rather fitting that we may finally get a proper full-screen iPhone model that year. Even if it is only the Pro models.

While we’d rather Apple pick up the pace with ProMotion adoption, under-display cameras are something we’re happy for it to take its time with.

Not only is the Dynamic Island a novel way of tackling the notched-screen idea, and pretty useful in its own way, current under-display camera technology isn’t particularly great.

FAQ’s on Apple IPhone Features & Display

1) What does the IPhone Roadmap show ?

Ans) According to Young’s roadmap, next year’s iPhones will have the same display features as this year’s.

In 2025, however, the regular iPhones start to match today’s Pro models–with an LTPO display that enables 120Hz ProMotion and presumably an always-on display as well. That same year, the Pro models are said to get Face ID sensors that are under the display accompanied by a small hole cutout for the front camera.

Then in 2027, Young predicts the standard models will get that arrangement while the Pro models remove the front camera under the display as well for a completely unobstructed front panel.

That all sounds very exciting, but a word of caution with these predictions: While they use the best available information from a respected supply chain analyst, it’s very difficult to predict what Apple will do even next year, let alone two or more years in the future.

The available technologies and their costs can change quite a bit between now and then, and even Apple hasn’t set the features of the 2025 iPhone in stone yet.

2) What has Ross explained about display of iPhone ?

Ans) According to Ross Young, CEO of Display Supply Chain Consultants, ProMotion technology, which was first introduced on the iPhone 13 Pro in 2021, will expand to standard iPhone models in two years.

This will allow the display to ramp up to a 120Hz refresh rate for smoother scrolling and video content, as well as ramping down to a more power-efficient refresh rate when necessary.

This is expected to be made possible by the introduction of low-power LTPO display technology to standard iPhones in 2025.

While the iPhone 13 Pro models can ramp down to 10Hz, the iphone 14 pro can go as low as 1Hz, allowing for an always-on display that can show the Lock Screen’s clock, widgets, notifications, and wallpaper even when the device is locked.

The roadmap provided by Young suggests that the “iPhone 17” and “iPhone 17 Plus” will feature ProMotion and an always-on display too.
