Sony has launched a new pair of truly wireless stereo (TWS) earbuds in Europe. The company has announced the Sony WF-C700 TWS earbuds.

It is a successor to the Sony WF-C500, which was launched year in India. The new C700 earbuds have a compact design and come with some good features.

The earbuds also support adaptive sound control based on your movement. There is support for multi-point pairing as well.

However, the feature is currently unavailable and will be unlocked via a software update soon.

Alongside the WF-C700, the company has also launched a new blue colour variant of the WH-1000XM5 flagship over the ear headphones.

Japanese tech giant Sony has launched the WF-C700N truly wireless earbuds that come with noise cancellation, adaptive sound control, and much more.

Not just that, the company has also unveiled a new colour variant of the WH-1000XM5 headphones.

It should be noted that both devices’ features were leaked online a few days ago. However, as they are now official, let us look at the features as well as the price of the newly launched audio products.

Let’s take a look at the Sony WF-C700 specifications, features and other details known so far.

Sony WF-C700N earbuds

The all-new Sony WF-C700N is launched at approximately EURO 119 (approx Rs 10,712) and comes in four colours, including Sage Green, Lavender, Black, and White.

The company said the Sony WF-C700N is small, lightweight, and offers a comfortable and immersive sound.

The earbuds have an ergonomic surface design for a more secure fit and a shape that perfectly mimics the human ear, allowing you to listen for extended periods of time without taking a break.

The cylindrical charging case is compact and simple to carry in a pocket or backpack. The case boasts a geometrically patterned material for a fashionable, opulent appearance.

The Sony WF-C700N comes with a noise-cancellation feature. Users can cancel out the background noise with noise cancellation or use the Ambient Sound Mode to remain connected to their natural surroundings.

The feedforward mics catch more ambient sound around you in Ambient Sound mode, allowing you to enjoy a natural listening experience while remaining connected to your surroundings.

You can customise the app’s settings or use the Focus on Voice preset to chat without removing your earbuds.

The Sony WF-C700N also has Adaptive Sound Control, which changes ambient sound settings based on your location and activity.

It comes with a battery life of up to 15 hours, IPX4 ratings and smart features, and it can be paired with two Bluetooth devices simultaneously.

1) What is the price of Sony WF-C700 ?

Ans) The Sony WF-C700 is one of Sony’s mid-range TWS earbuds worldwide. The company has currently launched its earbuds in Europe and is likely to bring them to India as well.
The WF-C700 will be available in Europe for EUR 130, which is roughly Rs 11,600.

Ans) The earbuds have an in-ear design and feature silicone ear tips. Sony’s new wireless earbuds come with support for Active Noise Cancellation (ANC). For instance, when you are walking or waiting for the bus, the earbuds will switch to Ambient Mode so that you can be aware of the surrounding.

Upon detecting no movement or when you have entered the bus, the earbuds will switch back to ANC. Each earbud weighs about 4.6 grams. The earbuds come packed in a capsule-shaped charging case made of plastic.

Sony is also adding support for its in-house Digital Sound Enhancement Engine (DSEE), which can upscale tracks and boost the bass to offer a personalised sound experience. In addition to this, there is support for 360 Reality Audio spatial audio and equaliser fine-tuning via the Headphones Connect app.

The earbuds feature a physical button, which can be programmed for certain tasks such as play/ pause music, activate noise cancellation or voice assistant, etc.

The earbuds are claimed to offer 7.5 hours of music playback with ANC enabled.
When ANC is disabled, the earbuds should last for about 10 hours on a single charge, according to Sony.

In addition to this, the charging case will add another complete charge cycles. This means that the case will provide up to 15 hours of juice when ANC is enabled or 20 hours when it is disabled.

There is no word on the India launch timeline of the Sony wireless earbuds. However, we can expect them to be available soon.

The India price of the WF-C700 could be lower than the European market. However, compared to its predecessor, the WF-C500, the TWS earbuds might attract a higher due to the addition of several features.

4) What Sony WF-C700N: what we know so far?

Ans) According to the MySmartPrice report, the Sony WF-C700N will come in four colour variants – white, black, green and purple. It will feature an elongated cylindrical charging case that looks similar to what OnePlus offered with its older
generation Buds, but is different from what Sony previously offered with its WF-1000XM4. The earbuds have a similar design to the latter, with a circular no-stalk design and eartips.

The earbuds will charge via USB-C, and take 90 minutes to fully charge. It will also take 10 minutes of charging to offer one hour of playback. With noise cancelling switched on, the C700N will offer a claimed 15 hours of playback.
Finally, there will also be multi-device connectivity with the WF-C70ON, which will allow users to switch between two actively connected Bluetooth devices simultaneously.

In terms of the feature set, the Sony WF-C700N will seemingly come with digital noise cancellation with wind noise suppression, and Sony’s trademark Digital Sound Enhancement Engine (DSEE) HX, which will upgrade streaming tracks to the highest possible quality.

There is no word so far on the pricing of the Sony WF-C700N earbuds, but given that the C500N was priced at Rs 5,990, the C700N should be priced at under Rs 10,000 as well.
The Sony WH-1000XM5’s blue colour variant, meanwhile, is also expected to launch soon – although it is not clear as to which markets would Sony release the new variant in.

Active Noise Cancellation is a budget offering from Sony. Does that sound a little bit familiar to you?

Well, you might be thinking about the recently released WH-CH720N.
That was a pair of budget-friendly headphones that offered high-end features.
In fact, people compare it against the flagship WH-1000XM5 headphones.

And the case might be the same for the Sony WF-C700N. That is, the new buds will be compared to the currently available WF-1000XM4 series flagship earphones.
Nonetheless, the leak from The Walkman Blog also confirmed that the Sony WF-C700N would come with Bluetooth 5.2.
Looking back, the Sony WF-C500N came with Bluetooth 5.0.
That means that the new pair of buds will offer an upgrade in terms of the wireless range and connection stability.
