Did you feel some unexpected vibrations on your Galaxy Watch 7 recently? Well, if you then we are here to confirm that you are not mistaken or hallucinating.

We are getting similar reports from multiple sources now, which means there is an unlying concern.

Galaxy Watch 7 users are reportedly experiencing unexpected vibrations on their watches that aren’t linked to any notifications. Thesephantom” vibrations are popping up randomly and affecting more than just a few users.

For those who never heard of phantom vibrations, it is when mobile phone users feel a vibration or ringing when it is not.

Only in the current scenario, the vibration on Watch 7 might just be happening for real.

First highlighted in a 9to5Google report, similar reports were shared by several users on Samsung’s official forums. According to the forum page, many users have felt that their Galaxy Watch 7 vibrates for no apparent reason.

When it happens, the watch doesn’t display any notifications or turn on the screen. This issue is happening frequently enough to become a nuisance.

User MattRaw posted on Samsung Forum under the topic “Watch 7 Ultra, random vibrations” and said, “I’ve got my new Watch 7 Ultra, and overall I’m very happy. But. Something is driving me mad! It keeps vibrating for no apparent reason, no notifications, nothing. It does a single vibrate, and then around 2 seconds later another 3 vibrations over around 1 second. I’ve been through all the settings I can think of (including turning off connection alerts), but it’s still doing it! Can anyone PLEASE help???”

MattRaw’s post since then has received responses from several other Watch 7 users who are experiencing similar issues. User mtanner876, for example, commented on the post saying, “I have the same problem with my Watch 7, it is driving me crazy. I’m in contact with Samsung support since 2 weeks, no progress. I did a hard reset yesterday without restore from backup, so all from scratch and the problem is still there. Samsung is unable to solve this problem until now, no idea what will be next.”

A user commented on the Samsung Forum post about facing similar issues with their Galaxy Watch 7.

As per the recent 9to5Google reports, this issue isn’t unusual and there could be a few reasons behind it.

In the Samsung Forum discussion post, some users have found that turning off Samsung’s Health Platform, which syncs fitness data across devices, can stop the vibrations. Others suspect Google Maps, and disabling the app’s “mirroring” options has worked for them.

Galaxy Watch users on Samsung’s Community forums have said that the random vibrations might be caused by Google Maps mirroring. Here is how to stop it

There are users who have highlighted that WhatsApp seems to be the trigger, though even uninstalling and reinstalling the app doesn’t always solve the problem.

It’s clear that multiple apps might be causing these vibrations, so it may be helpful for Samsung to add notification controls specifically for the Galaxy Watch.

On Android, users can manage notification categories within each app, and a similar option on the Galaxy Watch could help users stop these phantom vibrations for specific apps.

Both Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 and Galaxy Watch Ultra come packed with features and support a wide range of apps. But with so much functionality, there is always a chance for things to glitch.

WhatsApp is projected to cross 3.14 billion active users by 2025. While this showcases the dominance of the app across the world, a huge active user base also means the platform sometimes becomes an epicentre of misinformation.

In its efforts to fight misinformation, WhatsApp is testing a new feature to help check the authenticity of images.

As per a recent update, the feature will help users spot misleading or altered images more easily. It’s a step by WhatsApp to empower users to fact-check images right within the app.

Spotted by WaBetaInfo in the latest beta version (2.24.23.13) of WhatsApp’s Android app, the feature allows users to perform a quick web search on images shared in chats.

According to WaBetaInfo, Users can use the in-app feature whenever they receive an image that seems suspicious.

All they have to do is tap on it, open the three-dot menu and select “Search on Web.” WhatsApp will do a Google reverse image search, which might help in finding the original source or detect if the image has been altered in any way.

This new feature basically allows WhatsApp users to quickly check images without necessarily having to download or upload them elsewhere.

It might take some time for WhatsApp users to get used to finding the option in the menu. Nonetheless, it’s a useful addition that could encourage more people to verify images before sharing them.

While this tool will be extremely helpful in identifying altered images and thus fighting misleading information on the app, there are also some privacy concerns related to sharing images on Google.

WhatsApp has clarified that while the image is uploaded to Google for the search, it isn’t shared or processed by WhatsApp itself.

Moreover, the feature will remain completely optional. This means as a WhatsApp user, you will have full control over whether or not they want to use it.

This feature currently is available only to a small group of beta testers. However, WhatsApp plans to roll it out to all Android users in the coming weeks.

FAQs

Q1. What new feature is WhatsApp testing to help check the authenticity of images?

Answer. WhatsApp is testing a new feature in its beta version to help users check the authenticity of images by performing a Google reverse image search.

Q2. How can users use the new image search feature on WhatsApp?

Answer. Users can tap on suspicious images, open the menu, and select “Search on web” to verify the image’s original source and detect any alterations.

Q3. Is the new image search feature mandatory for all users?

Answer. The feature will remain completely optional, giving users full control over whether or not they want to use it.

Samsung Plans Affordable Galaxy Z Flip and New Foldables for 2025

Highlights

  • Samsung is rumoured to release a budget-friendly Galaxy Z Flip model in 2025.
  • The release will be with the Galaxy S25 Slim and a new variant of the Galaxy Z Fold 7.
image

Samsung is also set to have its next lineup released in 2025, which means we are getting tons of speculations about what to expect from the brand.

Recently, a report in a Korean online publication suggested that Samsung is planning to release a more budget-friendly Galaxy Z Flip model in 2025.

Moreover, the Korean manufacturer will also release versions of the Galaxy S25 and Galaxy Z Fold 7.

This is now being viewed as Samsung’s attempt to boost its popularity in the foldable segment, which isn’t growing as swiftly as the brand initially expected.

According to a report from Lanzuk on Naver, Samsung has plans for three new additions in 2025. These include the Galaxy S25 Slim as was reported last week, a Galaxy Z Flip FE and a new variant of the Galaxy Z Fold 7.

While some may doubt the authenticity of this claim, the claims were supported by tech insiders @Jukanlosreve and Max Jambor on X (previously Twitter). Jambor further noted that there will be at least one new foldable in Samsung’s lineup for 2025.

The Galaxy Z Flip is currently the most affordable foldable from Samsung in the market. However, its price increased to $1,099 with the Galaxy Z Flip 6 release.

Meanwhile, competitors like Motorola have been offering foldables at lower price points such as the Motorola Razr (2024), which costs just $699.

This competitive pricing from other brands could also be the reason Samsung decided to offer a cheaper Galaxy Z Flip option.

Samsung previously stated it had no plans for a more affordable Galaxy Z Fold model. However, the company later hinted at the possibility of a lower-cost foldable during an earnings call.

Apart from the affordable smartphone Galaxy Z Flip FE, an extra variant of the Galaxy Z Fold is also expected in 2025. While not many details are known as of now, Samsung recently launched a “Special Edition” Fold in Korea and China with a thinner body and larger display compared to the Fold 6. Keeping the recently launched smartphone in mind, we can expect the new variant to feature similar upgrades.

Answer. Samsung is planning to release a more budget-friendly Galaxy Z Flip model in 2025.

If you are a fan of one of Netflix’s interactive shows, this latest update may be disappointing to you.

According to a recent report on The Verge, Netflix will be removing most of its interactive shows portfolio from the platform by December 1.

The streaming platform currently offers 24 interactive specials, but only four of these will remain available after the cut.

The titles staying include the most well-known ones: Black Mirror: Bandersnatch, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt: Kimmy vs. the Reverend, Ranveer vs. Wild with Bear Grylls, and You vs. Wild.

These popular shows will continue to be accessible to viewers.

However, other interactive specials based on Carmen Sandiego, Boss Baby and Puss in Boots will be removed. Notably, Puss in Book: Trapped in an Epic Tale was Netflix’s first interactive special debuting even before Bandersnatch became a hit.

This move marks the end of an era for Netflix’s interactive content, which the company had once said it would “double down” on. Netflix spokesperson Chrissy Kelleher explained that while the feature had “served its purpose,” it was now limiting Netflix’s shift toward other technological efforts.

The Verge report quoted spokesperson Chrissy Kelleher saying, “The technology served its purpose, but is now limiting as we focus on technological efforts in other areas.”

Mike Verdu, Netflix’s former head of gaming, previously confirmed that the company wasn’t planning to create any more interactive specials.

Verdu announced that he is now the VP of “GenAI for Games” at Netflix. He reportedly also informed Game File’s Stephen Totilo that Netflix is not working on developing interactive gaming titles anymore.

While Netflix is discontinuing its interactive specials, it is still pursuing gaming with a selection of mobile games for subscribers.

However, this push hasn’t been without challenges, as Netflix recently shut down its AAA game studio before it had released any titles.

FAQs

Q1. Which interactive specials will remain on Netflix after the removal?

Answer. The titles staying include Black Mirror: Bandersnatch, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt: Kimmy vs. the Reverend, Ranveer vs. Wild with Bear Grylls, and You vs. Wild.

Q2. Why is Netflix removing most of its interactive specials?

Answer. According to Netflix spokesperson Chrissy Kelleher, the feature had “served its purpose” and was now limiting Netflix’s shift toward other technological efforts.

Q3. What is Netflix focusing on instead of interactive specials?

Answer. Netflix is pursuing gaming with a selection of mobile games for subscribers, despite recent challenges like shutting down its AAA game studio before launching any titles.

The commission found Swiggy guilty and ordered the company to pay a total of Rs 35,453 to the complainant. Here’s the complete story.

Emmadi Suresh Babu, who lives in Hyderabad, filed the complaint against Swiggy after he bought a “Swiggy One membership” that promises free delivery within a specified distance.

On 1st November 2023, when Babu ordered food from Swiggy, it allegedly increased the delivery distance from 9.7 kilometres to 14 kilometres, which resulted in a delivery fee of Rs 103 despite the membership benefits.

After Bubu’s complaint, the consumer court examined evidence including screenshots from Google Maps provided by Babu. This evidence showed a notable increase in the delivery distance.

Swiggy did not attend the hearings allowing the court to proceed based on Babu’s affidavit and supporting documents.

In the order, the consumer court mandated Swiggy to refund Rs 350.48 with 9 per cent interest from the date of filing.

Moreover, Swiggy is ordered to deposit Rs 25,000 as punitive damages into the Consumer Welfare Fund of the Ranga Reddy District Commission.

The company has 45 days to comply with this ruling.

In another instance highlighted on social media, the platform allegedly increased its platform fee from ₹6 to ₹10 just head the Hindu festival of Diwali.

Similarly, Zomato also raised its platform fee from ₹7 to ₹10 before the festival period.

Many users on social media highlighted that contrary to Swiggy and Zomato, Magicpin has lowered its platform charges to ₹5 per delivery as confirmed by a company official as well.

In other news, Swiggy is also preparing for its initial public offering (IPO) set to launch on November 6.

The platform is aiming to raise over Rs 11,000 crore from the primary market as the IPO has generated substantial interest from investors with bids from Norges, Norway’s sovereign wealth fund and Fidelity reportedly exceeding $15 billion, which is 25 times the $605 million portion designated for such investors.

  • Sony PS5 Pro launches on November 7 with over 50 enhanced games.
  • Hardware improvements include faster memory, Wi-Fi 7 support, 2TB SSD and additional RAM for OS.
  • Enhanced upscaling for PS4 games improves visuals.

The highly-anticipated Sony PlayStation 5 Pro is all set to hit stores on November 7. Before the launch, Sony has just announced that more than 50 games will have enhanced versions ready at launch.

The $700 (approx INR 58,881) upgrade includes popular titles like Baldur’s Gate 3, The Last of Us Part II Remastered, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and God of War Ragnarök, as well as newer releases like NBA 2K25 and Dragon Age: The Veilguard.

The enhanced games are set to take advantage of the PS5 Pro’s advanced ray tracing, higher frame rates and Sony’s own PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR) upscaling tech.

However, some anticipated games are noticeably missing.

image

Gran Turismo 7 isn’t on the list yet despite having an announced enhanced version. It is reportedly due to development time.

Final Fantasy XVI struggling with frame rate issues on the PS5 is also absent, along with Returnal and Elden Ring.

The enhanced versions most likely will come later depending on how well the PS5 Pro sells.

Apart from the visual upgrades for games, the PS5 Pro brings some solid hardware improvements too.

It has faster memory, support for Wi-Fi 7 and comes with a spacious 2TB SSD. An unboxing video by Digital Foundry revealed an additional 2GB of DDR5 RAM for the OS and user-accessible battery bay.

Enhanced Upscaling for PS4 Games Included in PS5 Pro

Just ahead of the launch, we are getting to know multiple new information about the specs and features of PS5 Pro.

image
PS5 Pro comes with the “Enhance Image Quality for PS4 Games” setting. (Image credit – Sony)

In a recent review, a setting called “Enhance Image Quality for PS4 Games was discovered in its screen settings, which players can toggle on or off for better visuals in PS4 titles.

Twisted Voxel tried it with Bloodborne and saw a noticeable sharpness improvement when the  “Enhance Image Quality for PS4 Games” option was turned on.

Sony does recommend switching it off if any unexpected behaviour shows up during gameplay.

The hardware improvements compared to the previous PS5 model include an additional 2GB of DDR5 RAM dedicated to the operating system and non-gaming apps.

With a full 16GB of GDDR6 RAM free for gaming, games get to use the entire memory capacity, which boosts performance and graphics.

Sony’s PSSR upscaling technology has mostly got positive reviews. Digital Foundry revealed that the AI-based upscaling helps in getting sharper visuals than AMD’s FSR. However, it not matching the standards of NVIDIA’s DLSS.

In any case, PSSR turns game visuals a lot smoother and real, which helps in getting an overall experience for new and old game titles on the console.

One problem highlighted by reviews is how PS5 Slim cover plates don’t fit the new PS5 Pro model.

There are no custom-coloured PS5 Pro plates available as of now. However, Sony is expected to release some in the near future letting gamers personalise the consoles.

PS5 Pro vs PS – Key Differences

Processor

  • PS5 Pro: Upgraded CPU for smoother gameplay and faster load times.
  • PS5: Standard CPU performance.

Graphics Card

  • PS5 Pro: Significantly enhanced GPU, delivering higher resolutions, improved frame rates, and more realistic visuals.

With the PS5 Pro’s November 7 launch, Sony is clearly focused on offering improved gaming experiences for fans. The console’s enhancements, along with the big lineup of upgraded games and new upscaling options for older titles, underscore Sony’s commitment to high-quality gaming.

However, even with all the upgrades and enhanced games, the $700 (approx INR 58,881) price tag might still be expensive for many potential customers.

TECNO has announced its #ToneProud campaign to address skin tone bias in AI-driven imaging and celebrate skin diversity.

In a press note, the company noted its “belief that imaging technologies should be free from bias, with every skin tone deserving fair representation as a vital aspect of human diversity.”

This initiative follows a 2018 MIT and Stanford University study that highlighted skin-type bias in commercial AI systems.

TECNO’s #ToneProud Campaign Aspires to End Skin Tone Bias in Imaging Technology to Represent Full Human Diversity

It is particularly relevant now as AI shapes how we capture and process images.

TECNO’s campaign advocates for fair representation in imaging technology and introduces a unique 268-skin-tone database that scientifically categorises skin tones.

This database refines TECNO’s Universal Tone technology helping correct colour distortions. The company hopes the #ToneProud campaign will inspire consumers worldwide to embrace skin tone diversity and speak out against bias in digital imaging.

Global Celebrities Join the Campaign

Tecno Takes a Stand Against Skin Tone Bias

Several global celebrities have joined the #ToneProud campaign including singer-songwriter Anggun, filmmaker Fatima Al-Banawi, musician Johnny Drille and actress Ewa Kępys.

In a campaign video released on YouTube, these celebrities share their stories of skin tone misrepresentation and call for technology that respects skin diversity.

Anggun noted, “I think, sometimes, you just need to be reminded that we’re all individual and we’re all beautiful in our own way.”

Anggun added, “If the technology helps us, which is the approach of TECNO phones, it makes it easier to break barriers and change people’s perception, change mentality.”

Tecno’s Universal Tone Technology’s 268 Skin Tone Patches

The #ToneProud campaign is TECNO’s Universal Tone technology, which uses 268 distinct skin tone patches developed with colour science experts.

This large database allows TECNO’s imaging algorithms to accurately detect and display a vast range of skin tones. This eventually sets an industry standard for unbiased skin tone imaging.

Singer Johnny Drille highlighted the significance of this approach and said, “Knowing that there are 268 skin tone patches alone is a testament to individuality. In a world that tries to box us into narrow categories, it’s a small but profound way of saying you’re unique. So be proud and tell your story,”

Filmmaker Fatima Al-Banawi, in the campaign video, can be seen saying, “What TECNO is doing with its Universal Tone feature is significantly crucial at this stage because this technology will set the foundations for an inclusive society.”

Call for Global Inclusion in Imaging

In the press note, TECNO also invites users worldwide to discover their unique skin tone codes at www.tecno-mobile.com/universaltone.

This website showcases the diversity within TECNO’s skin tone patches encouraging users to feel proud of their skin tones.

TECNO’s General Manager Jack Guo said, “Through the #ToneProud campaign, we stand with consumers who are misrepresented to make a case for inclusivity, while heavily investing in R&D to address this issue.”

Users can join the campaign by sharing portraits of their skin tone code on Instagram.Tecno hashtags #ToneProud, #UniversalTone and #TECNO can be used while posting the images.

  • The explosion caused severe burns to a Chinese woman.
  • Initial investigations suggest a battery malfunction.
  • Apple customer care will investigate the cause.

Shocking reports of an iPhone 14 Pro Max explosion are coming from China. A Chinese woman reportedly sustained severe burns when her iPhone 14 Pro Max exploded next to her while she was asleep. Here’s what multiple media reports have claimed.

According to Shanxi Radio and Television’s Hui Bang Mang program, the explosion happened around 6:30 AM while the woman’s phone was charging nearby.

She apparently turned over in her sleep and her hand accidentally touched the flames, which caused painful burns. The burn woke her up to find her room filled with smoke and fire.

Some reports claimed to have seen footage of the aftermath showing extensive damage including scorched bedding, smoke-blackened walls and a severely charred iPhone.

While we haven’t been able to verify the video, pictures of the charred iPhone have been circulating online.

Initial investigations suggest a battery malfunction could be the reason behind the explosion.

The woman reportedly purchased her iPhone 14 Pro Max in 2022, which means the device is currently out of warranty period.

However, she is still hoping for an explanation and compensation for the injuries she suffered and the damage to her rented apartment.

Apple Responds to the Reports of Explosion

Apple’s Customer Service Team has expressed concern and they would collect the device to analyse the cause of the explosion regardless of warranty.

Apple emphasised its commitment to safety saying it would thoroughly investigate any potential hazards with its products.

It is unclear if the phone had an original Apple battery or if it had repairs work done in the past that might have affected its condition.

This incident is again a reminder that charging electronic devices overnight near flammable materials like bedding comes with risks.

Experts have always advised against charging phones near such materials and recommend using certified chargers over third-party accessories to reduce risks.
