Honor unveiled the Magic 7 lineup consisting of Magic 7 and Magic 7 Pro recently in China.

However, the brand appears to be working on expanding the lineup with a new budget-friendly Magic 7 Lite model.

Hints about this Lite variant started doing rounds in the tech community after it was spotted in both the Google Play Supported Devices and Play Console databases recently.

There were previous reports speculating that a follow-up of last year’s Magic 6 Lite is on the way. However, the recent appearance in console listings suggests that the Magic 7 Lite may not be an entirely new model as many had hoped.

According to the Play Console listing, Magic 7 Lite has the same model number HNBRP-Q1 as the recently launched Honor X9c in Malaysia. This could mean we will only be getting a rebranded version on X9c.

While the Play Console listing labels the device as the Magic 7 Lite, it appears that beyond the name, there may be minimal differences in specs.

The listing reveals that the phone will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 SoC with an  Adreno 619 GPU and will come with a substantial 12GB of RAM.

However, details on storage and camera specs remain unknown for now.

The device is also listed with the same resolution of 1224×2700 as the Honor X9c, supporting the rumour that it could be a rebranded model.

If this turns out to be true then the Magic 7 Lite may also feature a large 6,600mAh battery, a 6.78-inch curved OLED display and durable construction with a 2.2-meter drop resistance rating.

Honor X9c: Likely a regional rebrand of the Magic 7 Lite

With the recent launch of the Honor X9c, it can be easily assumed that the Magic 7 Lite is simply a rebranded version for a different region.

However, Honor could still have some unique tweaks planned for this Lite variant.

We’ll need to wait for an official announcement to confirm all the details.

Rumours are doing rounds that Apple is planning to upgrade its AI-focused cloud servers soon.

Apple reportedly working to upgrade servers that are currently running on the M2 Ultra chip to the M4 chip starting next year.

These specialised servers are known as Private Cloud Compute (PCC) modules and are designed to handle certain Apple Intelligence requests securely in the cloud.

A report from Nikkei Asia reveals that Apple is in talks with Foxconn to set up new AI servers in Taiwan.

According to sources, this location is important as it will allow Apple to “tap the engineering talent and R&D resources” that also worked for Nvidia, also a Foxconn client with a strong presence in the region.

Apple Intelligence combines on-device and cloud processing to handle various requests. When an on-device language model can’t fulfil a request, the PCC modules process it with end-to-end encryption.

As Apple describes it: “For the first time ever, Private Cloud Compute extends the industry-leading security and privacy of Apple devices into the cloud, making sure that personal user data sent to PCC isn’t accessible to anyone other than the user — not even to Apple. Built with custom Apple silicon and a hardened operating system designed for privacy, we believe PCC is the most advanced security architecture ever deployed for cloud AI compute at scale.”

Earlier this year, 9to5Mac first reported on Apple’s PCC modules, noting that while most currently use the M2 Ultra chip, some lighter-use modules run on the M1 chip.

Now, according to the Nikkei Asia report, Apple’s upcoming PCC modules will feature the newly introduced M4 chip, which brings notable improvements to AI processing.

The M4 series offers significant advances for handling AI tasks, so it’s not surprising that Apple would choose this chip for its cloud servers.

While the report doesn’t specify which M4 variant Apple will use, it’s likely to be the yet-to-be-announced M4 Ultra chip, given Apple’s recent releases of the M4 Pro and M4 Max versions.

Many industry experts and tech enthusiasts have been speculating that Apple seems to dwindling from its dominating position in the tech world lately.

There have been signs of Apple’s downward slope in the sales data for a while now.

The arguably common perception today is that Apple needs to reinvent itself. And there always have been arguments in favour of Apple and its upcoming innovations as well.

However, this is probably the first time the Cupertino giant admitted that the future might not be as profitable.

Apple has warned its investors about keeping their expectations in check for the future. The company reportedly has admitted that future Apple products might never be as profitable as the iPhone.

However, Apple maintained that it is because of the exploration of newer technologies such as mixed-reality headsets and artificial intelligence.

According to a Financial Times report, Apple has added a “Business Risk” heading in its latest annual report to issue the warning to its investors.

Apple reportedly wrote in the report, “New products, services and technologies may replace or supersede existing offerings and may produce lower revenues and lower profit margins, which can materially adversely impact the company’s business, results of operations and financial condition.”

The company has been actively working to integrate consumer AI features into its products to take on competitive tech companies such as Google and Meta.

Recently, Apple introduced its initial Apple Intelligence features and has announced more upcoming enhancements including a ChatGPT integration.

Meanwhile, to support this warning we have the sales data of one of Apple’s most hyped products amongst categories other than the iPhone.

The Apple Vision Pro headset has registered modest sales since launch with experts believing it to be likely influenced by its steep $3,499 (INR 2,95,077) price tag.

FAQs

Q1. Why has Apple warned its investors about future product profitability?

Answer. Apple has warned its investors that future products might not be as profitable as the iPhone. The company admitted that new products, services, and technologies might produce lower revenues and profit margins, which can materially adversely impact the business.

Q2. How have the sales of the Apple Vision Pro headset been since its launch?

Answer. The Apple Vision Pro headset has seen modest sales, likely due to its high $3,499 (INR 2,95,077) price tag.

Report Reveals Pixel 9 Pro’s Parts Cost Less Than iPhone 16 Pro’s

0

Highlights

  • The report compared the estimated cost of parts (BOM) for Google’s Pixel 9 Pro and Apple’s iPhone 16 Pro.
  • The Pixel 9 Pro’s BOM is significantly cheaper at $406 (approx INR 34,227) compared to the iPhone 16 Pro’s $568 (approx INR 47,884).
  • The Pixel 9 Pro’s BOM is 11% lower than last year’s Pixel 8 Pro.
  • The iPhone 16 Pro’s BOM is 6% higher than last year’s iPhone 15 Pro.

Apple iPhone 16 often gets compared with Google’s Pixel 9 series.

We have seen reviewers comparing the design, camera and performance of both phones since their launch endlessly.

Now we are getting comparison reports of both series bills of materials, which show Pixel 9 Pro a step ahead of than iPhone 16 Pro.

A new report from Japan today breaks down the estimated cost of parts or bill of materials (BOM) for Google’s Pixel 9 Pro and Apple’s iPhone 16 Pro.

It is important to note that this BOM calculation only accounts for the cost of components and does not include R&D or marketing expenses, which tend to be mostly unaccountable.

Details of the Japanese report were also shared by a trusted tipster on X (previously Twitter).

The Pixel 9 Pro’s BOM is actually 11% lower than that of last year’s Pixel 8 Pro. However, this comparison has limitations, as the Pixel 9 Pro is smaller than the Pixel 8 Pro, with a smaller screen and battery that are likely less costly.

Meanwhile, the iPhone 16 Pro’s BOM is 6% higher than last year’s iPhone 15 Pro.

The report estimates that the iPhone’s chipset alone costs $135 (approx INR 11,380), the display $110 (approx INR 9,273), and the camera components $91 (approx INR 7,671).

For the Pixel, the chipset is estimated at $80 (approx INR 6,744), the display at $75 (approx INR 6,322), and the camera components at $61 (approx INR 5,142).

These BOM estimates offer a glimpse into the different costs of key components, even as both smartphones are priced identically for consumers at $999 (approx INR 84,219).

The Galaxy S25 Ultra case has a large cutout for four camera sensors, while the Galaxy S25 and S25+ have a triple-lens setup.

The cases show consistent button placements with power and volume cutouts on the left side across all models.

The cases confirm no additional buttons for  Samsung’s new lineup unlike the iPhone 16 or OPPO Find X8 Pro

Screen protector images hint that all models, including the Ultra, will feature flatter displays with slimmer bezels, giving a sleek and modern look.

Galaxy S25 Series – Dimensions

The Galaxy S25 series dimensions also surfaced via aluminium dummies. The leaked dummies reveal a slimmer profile across models.

The Galaxy S25 measures 146.94 x 70.46 x 7.25 mm, making it thinner than the Galaxy S24.

The S25+ measures 158.44 x 75.79 x 7.35 mm, also slimmer than its predecessor.

The Galaxy S25 Ultra with dimensions of 162.82 x 77.65 x 8.25 mm is both narrower and slimmer, likely due to reduced bezel size.

The Galaxy S25 Ultra is expected to be powered by a custom Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, specially optimized as a “For Galaxy” edition, built on a 3nm process.

Qualcomm claims this processor delivers a 45% boost in CPU performance and a 44% increase in power efficiency compared to previous generations.

Recent Geekbench tests for the Galaxy S25 Ultra (model SM-S938U) show impressive single-core and multi-core scores of 3,148 and 10,236, reflecting a 35% boost in single-core and a 45% increase in multi-core performance compared to the Galaxy S24 Ultra.

The Samsung Galaxy S25+ with the model number SM-S936B reveals Exynos 2500 3nm chip likely for the European market.

Samsung reportedly considered its own Exynos 2500 chipset for the Galaxy S25 series but appears to have settled on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite for global models, with the Exynos 2500 possibly limited to select regions. While the S25 Ultra’s scores are slightly lower than those of the OnePlus 13’s standard Snapdragon 8 Elite (3,296 in single-core), Samsung’s custom tuning may yield better performance by launch.

The Galaxy S25 Ultra is expected to retain its 12GB RAM configuration, consistent with the Galaxy S22 Ultra.

Multiple sources have been speculating about Oppo’s upcoming Reno 13 series, which is expected to include the Reno 13 and Reno 13 Pro models.

As of now, the launch in China is expected to be on November 25.

However, before Oppo confirms, recent leaks reveal some key details about the upcoming smartphone lineup.

Recent leaks from popular tipster Digital Chat Station on Weibo supposedly reveal new information about the high-end Reno 13 Pro.

While the tip didn’t directly name the device, many media reports inferred that it is most likely about the Reno 13 Pro. Here’s what we know based on the recent leaks.

Oppo Reno 13 Pro – Expected Specifications

According to the Digital Chat Station post, the Reno 13 Pro will likely run on MediaTek’s unreleased Dimensity 8350 processor.

Earlier rumours hinted at the Dimensity 9300, but this latest update points to a different choice.

This processor would be a slight downgrade from the Dimensity 9200+ used in the Reno 12 Pro’s Chinese version. As for memory, the highest configuration might offer 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage.

The Reno 13 Pro is expected to feature a large quad-curved 6.83-inch display.

Additional details shared in the post include mentions of a metal middle frame and stronger IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance.

This would be an improvement compared to the Reno 12 Pro’s IP65 rating.

Wireless charging support is also expected, a feature that was missing from last year’s model.

However, the tipster isn’t certain if these specs will be in the final retail version.

Oppo Reno 13 Pro – Expected Design Elements

In a separate Gizmochina report, it’s claimed that Digital Chat Station also mentioned a new camera design with the Pro model featuring a matrix-style camera arrangement on the top-left.

The standard Reno 13 could have a dual vertical camera setup, while the Pro might go with a triple camera arrangement and a centred punch-hole quad-curved display.

The Pro model is expected to include significant camera upgrades and new design elements with purple as a standout colour option.

Did you feel some unexpected vibrations on your Galaxy Watch 7 recently? Well, if you then we are here to confirm that you are not mistaken or hallucinating.

We are getting similar reports from multiple sources now, which means there is an unlying concern.

Galaxy Watch 7 users are reportedly experiencing unexpected vibrations on their watches that aren’t linked to any notifications. Thesephantom” vibrations are popping up randomly and affecting more than just a few users.

For those who never heard of phantom vibrations, it is when mobile phone users feel a vibration or ringing when it is not.

Only in the current scenario, the vibration on Watch 7 might just be happening for real.

First highlighted in a 9to5Google report, similar reports were shared by several users on Samsung’s official forums. According to the forum page, many users have felt that their Galaxy Watch 7 vibrates for no apparent reason.

When it happens, the watch doesn’t display any notifications or turn on the screen. This issue is happening frequently enough to become a nuisance.

User MattRaw posted on Samsung Forum under the topic “Watch 7 Ultra, random vibrations” and said, “I’ve got my new Watch 7 Ultra, and overall I’m very happy. But. Something is driving me mad! It keeps vibrating for no apparent reason, no notifications, nothing. It does a single vibrate, and then around 2 seconds later another 3 vibrations over around 1 second. I’ve been through all the settings I can think of (including turning off connection alerts), but it’s still doing it! Can anyone PLEASE help???”

MattRaw’s post since then has received responses from several other Watch 7 users who are experiencing similar issues. User mtanner876, for example, commented on the post saying, “I have the same problem with my Watch 7, it is driving me crazy. I’m in contact with Samsung support since 2 weeks, no progress. I did a hard reset yesterday without restore from backup, so all from scratch and the problem is still there. Samsung is unable to solve this problem until now, no idea what will be next.”

A user commented on the Samsung Forum post about facing similar issues with their Galaxy Watch 7.

As per the recent 9to5Google reports, this issue isn’t unusual and there could be a few reasons behind it.

In the Samsung Forum discussion post, some users have found that turning off Samsung’s Health Platform, which syncs fitness data across devices, can stop the vibrations. Others suspect Google Maps, and disabling the app’s “mirroring” options has worked for them.

Galaxy Watch users on Samsung’s Community forums have said that the random vibrations might be caused by Google Maps mirroring. Here is how to stop it

There are users who have highlighted that WhatsApp seems to be the trigger, though even uninstalling and reinstalling the app doesn’t always solve the problem.

It’s clear that multiple apps might be causing these vibrations, so it may be helpful for Samsung to add notification controls specifically for the Galaxy Watch.

On Android, users can manage notification categories within each app, and a similar option on the Galaxy Watch could help users stop these phantom vibrations for specific apps.

Both Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 and Galaxy Watch Ultra come packed with features and support a wide range of apps. But with so much functionality, there is always a chance for things to glitch.
