Oppo is gearing up to release the Oppo Reno 14 FS 5G and reports suggest it will be a slightly upgraded version of the Reno 14 F. While Oppo hasn’t confirmed anything officially, leaked renders, specifications and pricing details have already surfaced online. So, here’s what to expect from the upcoming device.

Oppo Reno 14 FS 5G – Expected Features

The Reno 14 FS 5G sticks to a slim and elegant profile. It features a 6.57-inch flat AMOLED display with a 2370 × 1080 resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. Bezels are kept minimal and the back panel follows the Reno series’ signature style with a smooth and wavy finish.

At 158.2 x 75 x 7.76 mm and 181 grams, the phone remains lightweight despite its sizeable battery.

Powering the device is the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 chipset, paired with 12GB RAM and a substantial 512GB internal storage. The phone runs Android 15 with ColorOS 15 on top.

One of the most notable features is the 6,000mAh battery, impressive for a phone this slim. It supports 45W fast charging, promising quick top-ups. Oppo’s typical battery optimisations in ColorOS usually pair well with large batteries, so light-to-moderate users can expect up to two days of usage.

The camera setup is familiar. On the rear, there’s a 50MP Sony IMX882 primary sensor with OIS, along with an 8MP ultra-wide and a 2MP macro lens. The 32MP front camera should be more than adequate for selfies and video calls. While there’s no telephoto lens or cutting-edge AI camera tricks, the setup aims to deliver sharp daylight shots and stabilised video performance, good value for its expected price.

The Reno 14 FS 5G covers all standard connectivity needs including dual SIM, Bluetooth 5.1, Wi-Fi 5, USB Type-C and NFC.

It also includes an IP69-rated water and dust resistance, in-display fingerprint scanner, staying in line with Oppo’s focus on bringing premium features to the mid-range segment.

Oppo Reno 14 FS 5G – Price and Expected Launch

The leak suggests that the Reno 14 FS 5G could launch in Europe for around €450, positioning it as a direct competitor to phones like the Samsung Galaxy A55 and Nothing Phone (2a).

Colour options are said to include Green and White. While there’s no official launch date yet, the device is expected to debut in August, likely via an online release rather than a full-scale launch event.

FAQs

Q1. What are the standout features of the Oppo Reno 14 FS 5G?

Answer. It offers a slim design with a 6.57-inch AMOLED 120Hz display, Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 processor, 12GB RAM, 512GB storage, and a large 6,000mAh battery supporting 45W fast charging. It also runs Android 15 with ColorOS 15 for a fluid user experience.

Q2. How is the camera setup configured on the Reno 14 FS 5G?

Answer. The rear features a 50MP Sony IMX882 main sensor with OIS, alongside an 8MP ultra-wide and 2MP macro lens. A 32MP front camera handles selfies and video calls. It’s designed for stable video and sharp daylight photography.

Q3. What is the expected price and launch timeline for the Reno 14 FS 5G?

Answer. Leaks suggest a European price of around €450. It may launch in August via an online release, in Green and White colour variants.

Apple iPhone 17 Pro Leak Hints at Major Camera Overhaul and Pro-Level Video Features

0

Highlights

  • iPhone 17 Pro leak reveals camera upgrades include an 8× optical zoom telephoto lens and a new Pro Camera app.

  • Rumoured changes include a copper-like finish, a centered Apple logo and possibly a second camera button.

Apple could be preparing for its most significant camera upgrade yet with the iPhone 17 Pro series. According to a leak shared with MacRumors by an anonymous source, the upcoming Pro models are set to introduce several advanced camera features.

The leak originates from someone claiming to have details about a commercial reportedly shot by Slovenian production house Division Film, which lists Apple among its clients. Here’s what we know.

iPhone 17 Pro Latest Leak

One of the key upgrades expected is a new telephoto lens with up to 8× optical zoom, a marked improvement over the 5× zoom currently available on the iPhone 16 Pro Max. This enhancement would allow for significantly more flexibility when capturing distant subjects.

The upgraded telephoto lens is also rumoured to feature continuous zoom across various focal lengths, potentially bringing the iPhone’s zoom capabilities closer to those of a DSLR camera.

Apple may also debut a dedicated pro camera app, designed to provide users with more advanced photo and video tools. This app is expected to rival popular third-party apps like Halide and Filmic Pro, though it remains unclear if the app will be limited to the iPhone 17 Pro models or rolled out to older iPhones as well.

image

Back in February, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman noted Apple would shift its focus toward improved video recording features on the iPhone 17 Pro.

Gurman explained, “In past years, Apple has focused more heavily on the camera’s photo-taking abilities. This year it will stress improvements to video recording. One of the goals for 2025’s iPhone line is to get the vlogging community and other video creators to move away from standalone cameras and use the iPhone for even more of their work. Look for Apple to more heavily than ever tout these video recording capabilities when the new iPhones debut in September.

Echoing this video-centric shift, Jon Prosser from Front Page Tech claims the iPhone 17 Pro’s Camera app will let users record video using both the front and rear cameras simultaneously.

In line with this creator-first approach, Apple is also reportedly considering the addition of a second camera control button, this time located on the top edge of the phone. That said, this move seems unlikely given ongoing speculation that Apple is steering toward a button-less design. The original camera button, after all, didn’t receive overwhelmingly positive feedback.

While a new pro camera app is one possibility, the source also suggests Apple could instead deliver a major update to the existing Final Cut Camera app.

Outside of camera features, the leak mentions that the iPhone 17 Pro might come in a copper-like finish and could feature a centered Apple logo on the back panel, departing from the current off-centre design.

Apple is expected to unveil the iPhone 17 lineup in September. As for the leak, MacRumors report clarifies that it has not independently verified the information.

FAQs

Q1. What is the expected camera upgrade in the iPhone 17 Pro series?

Answer. The iPhone 17 Pro models are rumoured to feature a new telephoto lens with up to 8× optical zoom, a marked improvement over the 5× zoom currently available on the iPhone 16 Pro Max. The lens may also support continuous zoom across various focal lengths, potentially bringing the iPhone’s zoom capabilities closer to those of a DSLR camera.

Q2. Will the iPhone 17 Pro have new video recording features?

Answer, Yes, Apple is expected to shift its focus toward improved video recording features, including the ability to record video using both the front and rear cameras simultaneously.

Q3. Is there a new camera app planned for the iPhone 17 Pro?

Answer. Apple may debut a dedicated pro camera app designed to provide more advanced photo and video tools, rivalling third-party apps like Halide and Filmic Pro. Alternatively, Apple could deliver a major update to the existing Final Cut Camera app.

WhatsApp to Soon Let Users Import Profile Pictures from Facebook and Instagram

0

Highlights

  • WhatsApp will soon let users import profile pictures directly from Instagram or Facebook.
  • The feature is live for some Android beta users (v2.25.21.23) and requires linking accounts via Meta’s Accounts Centre.
  • Users can reuse high-quality profile images across apps, avoiding screenshots and simplifying updates across Meta platforms.

Meta is reportedly working on a new feature for WhatsApp that will make switching between its apps more seamless. According to the trusted WhatsApp Beta source WABetaInfo, WhatsApp will soon allow users to import their profile pictures directly from Instagram or Facebook, tightening the integration across Meta’s ecosystem.

The feature was spotted in the WhatsApp beta for Android (version 2.25.21.23). It has already rolled out to some beta testers with a wider rollout expected in the coming weeks.

image
WhatsApp users would soon be able to import profile photos from Facebook or Instagram. (Image credit – WABetaInfo)

Users will be able to go to their profile settings, tap on Edit to change their display picture and see two new options – Instagram and Facebook. Currently, WhatsApp gives you the option to set a profile picture by capturing a new one, choosing from the gallery, selecting an avatar, or generating an AI image.

With the new update, importing from Facebook or Instagram will be added to this list.

This small but useful addition could help users who may have lost access to an image they previously set as their profile photo on Instagram or Facebook. Instead of resorting to low-quality screenshots, users can simply sync and use the same image across Meta platforms.

According to WABetaInfo’s report, users will first need to link their WhatsApp, Instagram and Facebook accounts via the Meta Accounts Centre to enable this feature. Meta introduced the ability to connect WhatsApp to its Accounts Centre earlier this year, paving the way for such cross-platform features.

The update follows several other integration-focused features from Meta. For example, users can now share their Instagram status updates directly to WhatsApp and business profiles on Instagram can add a WhatsApp contact button that connects customers to their WhatsApp number instantly.

FAQs

Q1. What new profile photo options will WhatsApp offer?

Answer. WhatsApp will soon allow users to import their profile pictures directly from Instagram or Facebook, tightening the integration across Meta’s ecosystem.

Q2. How can users enable the WhatsApp profile photo import feature?

Answer. Users will first need to link their WhatsApp, Instagram, and Facebook accounts via the Meta Accounts Centre to enable this feature.

Q3. Why is this WhatsApp profile photo import feature useful?

Answer. This small but useful addition could help users who may have lost access to an image they previously set as their profile photo on Instagram or Facebook. Instead of resorting to low-quality screenshots, users can simply sync and use the same image across Meta platforms.

Check Out Which Xiaomi Phones Just Reached End-of-Life Status

0

Highlights

  • Xiaomi has officially ended software and security update support for nine devices.
  • Affected Models – Redmi A1, A1+, POCO C50, Mi 11 Lite 5G NE, Mi 11 LE, POCO M5, Redmi 11 Prime 4G, Xiaomi 11T and 11T Pro.
  • These phones won’t receive future updates, making them more vulnerable over time.

image

Xiaomi has just announced that nine of its phones have officially reached end-of-life (EOL) status. This means these devices will no longer receive software updates or security patches starting this month. It will affect a range of budget, mid-range and flagship models across different regions. Here’s what we know.

EOL Smartphones

Once a phone hits EOL, it no longer gets bug fixes, feature updates, or even critical security patches. This could be a dealbreaker for users who prioritise security or want to stay up to date. Here’s a closer look at the devices on Xiaomi’s updated EOL list.

image

Caption – Xiaomi phones in EOL list. (Image credit – PhoneArena)

Entry-Level Phones

As expected, Xiaomi’s entry-level phones are among the first to be dropped. These devices usually come with a shorter update cycle and modest specs.

  • Redmi A1
  • POCO C50
  • Redmi A1+

All three were launched with MIUI 13 based on Android 12 and never received any major software upgrades. While they’ve already been out of circulation for more than a year, this move still leaves budget users with fewer options moving forward.

Flagship Models

The Xiaomi 11T and 11T Pro, flagships from 2021, are also being retired. These phones end their run with HyperOS 1 on Android 14. They enjoyed a healthy software cycle, including regular monthly updates and the transition from MIUI to HyperOS.

But now, no further updates will be provided.

Mid-Range Phones

Two upper mid-range models with loyal fanbases are also being discontinued are –

  • Mi 11 Lite 5G NE
  • Mi 11 LE

Both received HyperOS 2 with Android 14, a pleasant surprise given their tier. However, this is their final update, and they won’t get any future support.

Xiaomi is ending support for two more mid-tier models –

  • POCO M5
  • Redmi 11 Prime 4G

Both were running HyperOS 1 with Android 14, but hadn’t received regular updates in recent months. In Xiaomi’s ecosystem such gaps often signal that official support is wrapping up.

If you’re still using any of these nine phones, it’s a good time to start thinking about an upgrade. Even if the phone still works fine, the lack of security patches leaves it more vulnerable over time.

FAQs

Q1. Which Xiaomi smartphones have reached End-of-Life status recently?

Answer. Nine devices are now EOL, including flagship models (Xiaomi 11T, 11T Pro), mid-range phones (Mi 11 Lite 5G NE, Mi 11 LE, POCO M5, Redmi 11 Prime 4G), and entry-level models (Redmi A1, POCO C50, Redmi A1+).

Q2. What does it mean when a phone is marked as End-of-Life (EOL)?

Answer. EOL means the phone will no longer receive software updates, bug fixes, or security patches. This affects device performance and security over time.

Q3. Should users upgrade if their phone is now EOL?

Answer. Yes. While the devices may still function, the absence of future updates increases vulnerability, making it wise to consider upgrading for continued security and app compatibility.

Galaxy S26 Ultra Concept Render Hints at Subtle Design Changes and Camera Upgrades

0

Highlights

  • Galaxy S26 Ultra leaked concept render shows a slightly raised, oval-shaped rear camera module.
  • The phone is expected to feature a new HP2+ main sensor, improved telephoto lens and possibly 65W fast charging while retaining the 5,000mAh battery.
  • The Ultra model may run on Snapdragon 8 Elite 2, while the base Galaxy S26 could use Samsung’s in-house Exynos 2600 processor.

We may be getting our first unofficial glimpse of the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra. New concept renders that offer an early look at what could be the next Ultra flagship from the brand have surfaced online. While these renders aren’t official, they do hint at possible design tweaks and hardware upgrades for the upcoming model.

Galaxy S26 Ultra – Is Samsung Refreshing Design?

The render, shared online by well-known tipster Ice Universe on X (formerly Twitter), showcases the rear design of the Galaxy S26 Ultra. Although the layout remains familiar, the main, ultra-wide and periscope telephoto cameras are now housed in a slightly raised, oval-shaped module.

This design is reminiscent of what we’ve seen on the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy S25 Edge.

Ice Universe mentioned in the post that it’s unclear whether this is the final design, but there’s a “pretty high chance” that the Galaxy S26 Ultra could resemble this concept. The raised camera module might allow Samsung to include a larger main sensor and a new telephoto lens, while still making the phone slimmer overall.

The thicker bump could simply provide the needed room for upgraded camera hardware.

Nothing might be gearing up for a new product launch. The brand recently posted a subtle yet intriguing teaser on its official Indian X (formerly Twitter) account, sparking speculation among fans.

The image shared in the tweet shows the Glyph Matrix display on the Nothing Phone (3), accompanied by the caption, “What are we looking at?”, a clear hint that something new could be on the horizon.

Is the Glyph Matrix Teasing a New Device?

The cryptic design displayed on the Phone (3)’s Glyph interface has led many to wonder if the company is teasing an upcoming gadget or announcement. While the post doesn’t explicitly reveal any details, the unusual pattern and mysterious wording suggest that Nothing might be working on something behind the scenes.

There have already been rumours swirling around a possible budget-friendly smartphone series from Nothing. After launching its first true flagship, the Phone (3), reports indicate that the company could be preparing to introduce a more accessible lineup, possibly under the “Lite” or “T” branding.

However, it’s important to note that nothing is confirmed yet. The rumoured Lite or T-series devices are still unverified and the current teaser leaves much open to interpretation. For now, fans will have to wait and watch as more teasers or official announcements are likely to follow in the coming weeks.

Samsung Mobile President Won-Joon Choi recently shared some insights on Samsung’s plans in a recent interview with Bloomberg. Choi touched on multiple topics including how the Korean brand will stay competitive as Apple prepares to enter the foldable market, the company’s broader AI strategy and chipset choices for future devices like the Galaxy S26. Here are some key takeaways.

Samsung Mobile President Won-Joon Choi

With Apple’s first foldable device rumoured to be on the way, Choi was asked how Samsung intends to “keep its edge” in the foldable segment. He responded (edited for clarity), “We’ve been doing this for many years and we have accumulated a lot of technologies and know-how. And, having another global technology company in this category is good for the industry and is going to be great for the consumers.”

Choi also addressed the Galaxy Z Flip 7, which is notable for being the company’s first foldable to use an Exynos processor.

When asked about the reasoning behind the chipset selection, Choi said Samsung follows a “rigorous process” that weighs factors like performance, power efficiency, and user needs. Regarding future models, such as whether the Exynos 2600 will be used in the next Flip, Choi said Samsung will “consider every option.”

On the topic of the potential 25% U.S. tariff on smartphones not manufactured domestically, Choi emphasised Samsung’s global manufacturing flexibility.

He said the company operates multiple production facilities across key regions, which gives them the agility to respond to changing trade policies. While acknowledging the uncertainty around U.S. tariffs, he reassured that Samsung is already working to ensure that U.S.-bound devices can be manufactured in “multiple locations.”

Shifting the focus to AI, Choi confirmed that Samsung’s AI vision extends well beyond Google’s Gemini. He stated, “Gemini will not be the only AI assistant we’re going to integrate with Galaxy. We’re going to integrate multiple AI assistants and AI agents with this framework that we’ve built…. It could be anything, as long as these AI agents are competitive, and AI agents can provide the best user experience, we are open to any ideas. We are talking to multiple vendors. I think at the time of [Galaxy] S26 you’re going to see more. In addition to Gemini, you’re going to see more at the time of [Galaxy] S26.”

While Choi didn’t confirm specific partners, Perplexity and ChatGPT were name-dropped by the interviewer. Choi reiterated that “anyone” is welcome under their AI integration strategy. He hinted that by the time the Galaxy S26 is released, users can expect to see multiple AI assistants embedded in Samsung’s ecosystem.

He wrapped up the conversation by reinforcing that Samsung views the smartphone as the central hub for AI going forward.
