Apple has finally confirmed the date for its next major product event. The company will host the event on September 9 at 10 am PT and has started teasing under the tagline “Surprise and shine.” The event invite shows a glowing Apple logo with sunlight passing through it.

The upcoming event is expected to bring the iPhone 18 Pro series alongside Apple’s first foldable iPhone. The company is reportedly planning three major iPhone announcements including the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max and a foldable model that is rumoured to be called the iPhone Ultra.

This year’s event will also take place around an important change in Apple’s leadership. John Ternus is set to become Apple’s CEO on September 1, while current CEO Tim Cook will move into the role of executive chairman. Here’s a quick roundup of everything you need to know.

Apple’s September 9 Event – What to Expect?

Apple is not expected to announce a standard iPhone model during its September event this year. Instead, the company is reportedly dividing its usual annual iPhone launch into two phases.

The iPhone 18, iPhone 18e and iPhone Air 2 are expected to follow in spring 2027, which leaves the premium Pro models and the rumoured foldable iPhone as the main attractions of the September event.

iPhone 18 Pro.

The iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max are not expected to receive major changes to their basic design or display sizes. Apple is instead reportedly preparing several hardware upgrades that could improve the display, camera and connectivity experience.

Among the rumoured changes is a variable-aperture main camera, which would be a notable change to the camera system. The Dynamic Island is also expected to become smaller, while Apple’s C2 cellular modem could bring new connectivity capabilities to the Pro models.

Apple may also introduce four colour choices for the iPhone 18 Pro lineup and are said to include dark cherry, black, silver and light blue.

Brace for Apple’s First Foldable iPhone – iPhone Ultra

iPhone Ultra.
iPhone Ultra.

The foldable iPhone is expected to be the biggest reveal of Apple’s September event. The device is rumored to use the iPhone Ultra name and could adopt a book-style folding design. When folded, the device is expected to feature an outer display measuring between 5.3 and 5.5 inches. Opening it up could reveal a significantly larger inner screen measuring between 7.6 and 7.8 inches.

Apple is also rumoured to be using a titanium frame for the foldable phone. The device is expected to have an ultra-thin profile, while its folding display could offer a virtually crease-free experience.

The biometric system could also differ from the one used on Apple’s current iPhones. Instead of Face ID, the foldable model may have Touch ID built into its power button. Camera hardware is rumoured to include two front-facing cameras and two cameras on the rear.

All of this is expected to make the foldable iPhone considerably more expensive than Apple’s existing models. Current estimates put its starting price at around $1,999, while some reports suggest that certain configurations could cost as much as $2,500.

Apple Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4

Apple’s smartwatch lineup could receive updates at the same event. The company is expected to introduce the Apple Watch Series 12 and Apple Watch Ultra 4.

Major changes to the exterior design are not expected for either model. Instead, Apple is reportedly planning to concentrate on upgraded processors and new health-related features. A new Apple Watch SE is not currently expected to be announced.

The company is also expected to introduce AirPods 5. However, AirPods Pro models featuring Visual Intelligence are not expected until next year at the earliest.

Apple has already announced new Mac mini and Mac Studio desktop hardware with the two products scheduled to become available on September 22.

How to Watch the iPhone 18 Pro Launch Event?

Apple will make the event available to watch through apple.com, YouTube and the Apple TV app. The event is expected to use a prerecorded presentation, while members of the press will attend at Apple Park in Cupertino, California.

With the event now officially announced, Apple is expected to reveal more details about its upcoming products when the presentation takes place on September 9.

Apple ‘Surprise and shine’ Hashmoji Goes Live on X

Apple has also continued its tradition of creating a custom X hashmoji for its events.

The new #AppleEvent hashmoji is already live on X following the event invitation release. The artwork takes inspiration from the invitation and features an Apple-shaped halo around the sun and the “Surprise and shine” tagline. This means that anyone posting on X with #AppleEvent will see a customised Apple logo displayed alongside the hashtag.

The hashmoji went live just hours after Apple’s SVP of Marketing, Greg Joswiak, teased it in a post on X. Tim Cook later reposted Joswiak’s message and added comments of his own.

With the event now officially confirmed, more details about the iPhone 18 Pro lineup and Apple’s first foldable iPhone are expected to emerge ahead of September 9.

  • Launch date and pricing have not been announced yet.

TECNO is preparing to expand its CAMON Slim smartphone range in Bangladesh. The company has now started teasing what appears to be its upcoming CAMON Slim 5G. CAMON Slim 5G Specifications Tipped

TECNO has yet to disclose the complete hardware specifications of the CAMON Slim 5G but existing leaks provide some early clues. The 5G model has previously appeared in certification and benchmark databases carrying the CN6 model number. Its Geekbench listing reportedly showed prototype scores of around 1,000 points in the single-core test and nearly 3,000 points in the multi-core test. The same listing also revealed that the device was running Android 16.

Certification also suggests that the phone could pack a 5,800mAh battery, although some earlier reports have claimed a much larger 7,000mAh capacity. Since TECNO has not confirmed the figure, both battery capacities should be considered unverified for now.

Xiaomi 18 Fold Real-Life Images Leak Ahead of September Launch, Reveal Wider Design and Xring O3 Chip

0
xiaomi

Highlights

  • Xiaomi 18 Fold leaks reveal wider, flatter design with horizontal triple-camera bar, slim profile, and striking deep red finish.
  • First Xiaomi foldable to debut under “18 Fold” branding, powered by new in-house Xring O3 chipset with 10-core CPU, LPDDR6 support, and major performance gains.
  • Launch confirmed for September in China, while India availability remains uncertain.

Xiaomi is expected to launch its next-gen foldable in September with major change in Xiaomi’s foldable naming strategy. Instead of continuing with the Mix Fold branding, the company is reportedly bringing the new model under the Xiaomi 18 Fold name. Xiaomi has already confirmed that the phone will be the first device powered by its new Xring O3 flagship chipset and now, it looks we may have a first look out from unofficial sources.

The Xiaomi 18 Fold has surfaced in its first real-world images and videos that offer an early look at the company’s upcoming foldable smartphone. The leaked photos reveal a wider body, a horizontal rear camera setup and a striking deep red finish. Here’s more on what we know.

Xiaomi 18 Fold Design Revealed in Leaked Images and Videos

Xiaomi 18 Fold hands-on leaked video screengrabs.
Xiaomi 18 Fold hands-on leaked video screengrabs.

The upcoming foldable was previously expected to debut as the Mix Fold 5, following the Mix Fold 4. Xiaomi has instead chosen the Xiaomi 18 Fold name, bringing the device directly into the same naming series as its conventional flagship smartphones.

The design shown in the leaked images is noticeably different from the Mix Fold 4. Xiaomi’s previous foldable featured a taller and narrower body along with a large rectangular Leica-branded camera island on the back. The Xiaomi 18 Fold appears to take a wider and flatter approach.

Its rear panel can be seen featuring a horizontal, pill-shaped camera bar with three cameras and an LED flash. The side view also hints at a relatively slim profile. The wider form factor puts Xiaomi’s upcoming foldable closer to devices such as the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8, which has helped wider book-style foldables gain more attention.

Apple is also rumoured to be adopting a wider body for its first foldable iPhone. For users, a wider design could provide a more practical cover display and more space on the internal screen. However, the increased width could also make the phone slightly harder to operate comfortably with one hand.

Xiaomi 18 Fold Real-Life Images.

The colour shown in the leaked photos is another noticeable aspect of the phone. The Xiaomi 18 Fold appears in a deep red or burgundy finish, which looks similar to the shade used on the Redmi K100 Pro Max.

The colour has also drawn comparisons with the Dark Cherry finish reportedly planned for the iPhone 18 Pro.

Xiaomi 18 Fold to Debut Xring O3 Chipset

The design is not the only major change coming with the Xiaomi 18 Fold. The phone will also introduce Xiaomi’s latest in-house flagship processor, the Xring O3. Xiaomi has confirmed that the foldable will be the first smartphone to use the chipset, representing a significant shift away from the company’s previous reliance on Qualcomm for flagship Snapdragon processors.

Xiaomi 18 Fold hands-on leaked video screengrabs.
Xiaomi 18 Fold hands-on leaked video screengrabs.

According to Xiaomi, the Xring O3 has achieved 5.22 million points in AnTuTu V11, while Geekbench 6.5 testing has reportedly produced 3,945 points in single-core and 15,221 points in multi-core performance.

The processor features a 10-core CPU configuration. This consists of two cores clocked at up to 4.35GHz, four cores reaching up to 3.68GHz and another four cores with speeds of up to 3.15GHz.

Xiaomi also claims that the Xring O3 can deliver up to an 85 percent improvement in graphics performance compared with the previous-generation Xring O1. The chip is also said to support LPDDR6 memory with memory bandwidth reaching 113.8GB/s.

Xiaomi 18 Fold India Launch Still Uncertain

While Xiaomi is preparing to introduce the 18 Fold in its home market, its availability in India remains unclear. Xiaomi has not brought its previous foldable smartphones to the Indian market, so there is currently little indication that the Xiaomi 18 Fold will be launched in the country.

More details about the foldable including its complete specifications, pricing and availability are expected to emerge closer to the September launch.

Vivo X500 Pro Max, X500 Pro Telephoto Camera Details Leaked, X500 Renders Surface

0

Highlights

  • Vivo X500 Pro Max will feature a 200MP Zeiss APO super telephoto camera with 4x ISZ, 400mm extender, CIPA 7.0 stabilisation and Super Capture Engine.
  • Vivo X500 Pro gets a new 64MP APO telephoto camera with Sony LYTIA 610 sensor, advanced autofocus, 4K 120fps slow-motion and 4K 60fps HDR video support.
  • Standard Vivo X500 renders leak in Red, Cyan, Black, and White.

Vivo is preparing to introduce the Vivo X500 series in China next month with models Vivo X500, X500 Pro and X500 Pro Max. With the launch now only a few weeks away, Vivo’s product manager has begun sharing more information about the camera systems of the Pro models.

Two newly shared posters have now revealed the key specifications of the periscope telephoto cameras that will be used on the Vivo X500 Pro and X500 Pro Max.

Vivo X500 Pro Max to Feature 200MP Super Telephoto Camera

Vivo X500 Pro Max teaser. (Image credit – Vivo)

The Vivo X500 Pro Max will reportedly feature a 200-megapixel Zeiss APO super telephoto camera. The camera is said to use the same 1/1.4-inch BluePrint and Samsung HP0 sensor combination found on the Vivo X300 Ultra along with hardware-based 4x ISZ technology.

This setup could be particularly useful for zoom photography because the high-resolution sensor is capable of providing two stages of lossless zoom while still maintaining the level of detail associated with a 200-megapixel telephoto camera.

Vivo is also expected to offer a 400mm telephoto extender, giving the X500 Pro Max considerably more reach when photographing subjects from a distance.

For stabilisation, the camera will reportedly support CIPA 7.0-rated professional stabilisation. It will also use Vivo’s Super Capture Engine, which can support capture of up to 30x. According to the company, these technologies are intended to help capture fast-moving subjects with better clarity.

Vivo X500 Pro Gets New 64MP APO Telephoto Camera

Vivo X500 Pro teaser. (Image credit – Vivo)

The Vivo X500 Pro is expected to feature a newly developed 85mm Zeiss 64-megapixel APO super telephoto camera.

The camera combines a BluePrint sensor with Sony LYTIA 610 and uses an unusual GG 1×1 and RB 2×2 pixel structure. Vivo’s approach is aimed at bringing together the resolving ability associated with a 1×1 pixel arrangement and the focusing capabilities of a 2×2 configuration.

The company is also building on the APO technology used by the Vivo X100 Pro. However, Vivo says the updated telephoto lens has been redesigned to overcome some of the size constraints associated with the previous implementation.

The 85mm focal length and native 64-megapixel resolution should also give users more flexibility when cropping images digitally. The telephoto camera is expected to support CIPA 7.0 stabilisation, enhanced telephoto autofocus and tracking, 4K 120fps slow-motion video recording and 4K 60fps HDR video output.

Vivo X500 Renders Surface

Separately, Vivo X500 renders have now been circulating online revealing its rear design elements along with all four possible colour options.

As per viral images, the standard X500 model is expected in Red, Cyan, Black and White colours.

The Vivo X500 series is confirmed to launch in China in September with the X500, X500 Pro and X500 Pro Max expected to make up the lineup.

The exact launch date has not been confirmed yet. But it appears the brand will be teasing more about the upcoming phones in the days leading up to the launch.

OnePlus 16 Leak: Slimmest Bezels Ever Seen on Any OnePlus Flagship With 165Hz System-Wide Refresh Rate

OnePlus 16 Leak: Slimmest Bezels Ever

Highlights

  • OnePlus 16 tipped to feature ultra-slim bezels and an industry-first 165Hz system-wide refresh rate.
  • The phone is expected to run ColorOS 17 paired with Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro and upgraded exclusive gaming technologies.
  • Launch timeline not confirmed, but reports suggest an October debut in China.

The OnePlus 16 could bring a major upgrade to the brand’s flagship display experience. Early reports suggest the upcoming smartphone will combine extremely slim bezels with a 165Hz refresh rate that could work across the entire system. The latest information repeats earlier reports about the display. Previous leaks claimed that the OnePlus 16 could become the first smartphone to feature a new-generation Oriental Screen.

OnePlus 16 Display Upgrades Leaked

According to Weibo tipster Digital Chat Station, the OnePlus 16 is expected to retain the thinnest bezels seen on a OnePlus flagship so far. The tipster described them as “around this narrow” while pointing to very slim edges on all four sides of the screen.

The phone is also said to feature a custom display designed to offer a clear and sharp viewing experience, which could help the device stand out from other Android flagships.

Moreover, the panel is reportedly being developed as the industry’s first display capable of delivering a 165Hz ultra-high refresh rate across the entire system.

This means the high refresh rate would not be restricted to supported games. Regular activities such as scrolling through menus, browsing and viewing system animations could also benefit from the faster refresh rate. The phone is expected to run ColorOS 17, which is said to include redesigned system animations specifically for the high-refresh-rate display.

OnePlus 16 – What Else We Know So Far?

The OnePlus 16 is also rumoured to use Qualcomm’s upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro chipset, although the company has yet to announce the complete hardware specifications.

OnePlus has already revealed some information about the phone’s gaming capabilities. Speaking at the Qualcomm Snapdragon Gaming Technology Awards, OnePlus China President Li Jie discussed the company’s work with Qualcomm on gaming technology. According to the company, three of OnePlus’ exclusive gaming technologies are being completely upgraded and will make their debut with the OnePlus 16.

The high refresh rate reportedly managed to go even higher while testing with certain games. OnePlus is said to achieve this through a combination of an overclocked display controller, dedicated co-processing hardware, game-focused kernel optimisation and a triple-core e-sports processor setup.

The smartphones are aimed at delivering smoother gameplay, reducing latency and maintaining more stable high frame rates during gaming sessions.

OnePlus 16 Launch Timeline

OnePlus has not yet revealed the complete specifications or official launch date of the OnePlus 16. The smartphone is still expected to be several months away, although some reports have pointed towards an October launch in China.

Nothing Buds Pro 2 Appears on FCC With 460mAh Battery and New Case Design

0

Highlights

  • Nothing Buds Pro 2 spotted in FCC listing confirming the product name, battery details and case design.
  • The charging case features a 460mAh battery, 3.8V capacity, 5V/0.6A input, and 5V/0.24A output, supporting wired charging up to 3W.
  • FCC documents reveal a new rounded rectangular case design with regulatory markings.

Nothing may soon expand its wireless audio lineup with new earbuds. An audio device believed to be the Nothing Buds Pro 2 has surfaced in the US FCC database, giving us some early information about the product. The certification does not reveal the complete specifications but it does confirm the model name/number, battery capacity of the charging case and some aspects of its design. Here’s more on what we know so far.

Nothing Buds Pro 2 Appears on FCC, Battery Details Confirmed

According to a recent Xpertpick report, the FCC database lists the upcoming Nothing earbuds as model B195, while the associated certification carries the FCC ID 2AZEQ-B195C. Confirming the marketing name, the regulatory label shown in the filing directly carries the Buds Pro 2 name.

Until now, the Buds Pro branding has been largely associated with the CMF sub-brand. The CMF Buds Pro 2 arrived in 2024 with dual drivers, hybrid ANC and a 460mAh charging case.

Nothing Buds Pro 2 Appears on FCC. (Screenshots by Xpertpick)

The certification documents provide several details about the charging case. It is shown with a 3.8V, 460mAh lithium-ion battery, which has a rated energy capacity of 1.748Wh. The case is also listed with a 5V/0.6A input and 5V/0.24A output.

These ratings point towards wired charging of up to 3W, although it is worth noting that the FCC paperwork does not state which charging protocol or standard will be used.

Another part of the filing shows the area reserved for regulatory information on the rear of the case. The dimensions given there are 26.45mm × 16.92mm. However, these measurements appear to describe the label area and should not be considered the dimensions of the complete charging case.

The battery capacity is also familiar from Nothing’s existing lineup. The CMF Buds Pro 2 uses a charging case with the same 460mAh battery capacity.

Nothing Buds Pro 2 Case Rear Design

Nothing Buds Pro 2 case illustration. (Screenshots by Xpertpick)

Apart from the battery information, the FCC submission includes an illustration of the charging case. The drawing suggests a rounded rectangular body with a sizeable recessed section on the inside and a curved section towards the bottom.

The regulatory markings are shown in the upper-left portion of the rear panel. There is no corresponding image of the earbuds in the certification documents, so the case sketch is currently the only indication of the product’s physical design.

Notably, Nothing has not officially announced the earbuds yet. There is also no confirmation on its launch date, pricing, audio components or features.
