ZTE Unveils Axon 40 Ultra Space Edition with Up To 18GB of RAM and 1TB storage, Ceramic Back

0
Axon 40 Ultra Space Edition

ZTE has come out with another variant of the Axon 40 Ultra – the Axon 40 Ultra Space Edition.

Although both Axon 40 Ultra and the Ultra Space Edition have the same specifications, there is a major upgrade in the newly launched variant. The Axon 40 Ultra Space Edition comes with more memory than anyone can probably use. It comes with a whopping Up To 18 GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. Furthermore, the already high end original device of the handset has now been upgraded with a space inspired design and ceramic back in the latest variant.

Customers, however, would be able to choose between two memory variants when it comes to ZTE Axon 40 Ultra Space Edition. One variant provides 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage and the other premium model offers 18 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage. This recent unveiling of upgraded memory variants was earlier predicted by many tech bloggers online since the brand has already done something similar with the Axon 30 Ultra last year. Let’s find out more about the Axon 40 Ultra Space Edition specifications and features.

The design of this newly launched variant is slightly different from ZTE’s regular ultra moniker models. Ceramic material has replaced the previous back panel design and it does give the handset a premium feel. The brand has also redesigned the camera bump. In the previous design where the surface was discrete, the camera rims now perfectly blend in the back panel without much noise. It appears ZTE has taken extra care with the ceramic material as it has been moulded using special moulds that provides a different texture to the surface of the panel.

The Axon 40 Ultra Space Edition, similar to the regular Ultra model, has been built with a dedicated security chip. The chip has been developed by the brand itself and as per the claims made by ZTE, the chip has passed all necessary security tests and received the required certifications. The ZTE developed chip has passed national commercial encryption testing. Amongst the major security certifications, the chip has received three privacy and international security certifications.

Axon 40 Ultra Space Edition

As for the smartphone specifications and features, the Axon 40 Ultra Space Edition sports mostly the same specifications as its sister model. The handset comes with a 6.8 inch AMOLED 120Hz display and a 16 MP under display camera. The four lens rear camera setup includes three 64 MP primary sensors, one for the wide cam (35mm lens), one for the ultra wide (16mm) and one for the periscope (91mm). Powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset, it has a 5000 mAh battery support for optimum performance. The device also has 65W to 80W charging support.

As for the pricing is concerned, the ZTE Axon 40 Ultra Space Edition is currently in the pre-booking phase in the Chinese market. The 12GB/512GB variant will be available for CNY 5,900 (around $825/€795/₹67,000), while the 18GB/1TB variant is priced at CNY 7,700 (around $1,075/€1,035/₹88,000). The shipping for both the variants is expected to start from December 6.

India is Now the Biggest Smartwatch Market in the World: Report

0
Biggest Smartwatch Market

Joyous news for the Indian wearables industry! India’s smartwatch market saw a growth of 171 per cent year over year making it the biggest smartwatch market in the world in Q3 2022, says a recent report.

According to Counterpoint Research’s latest ‘global smartwatch model tracker’ report, the shipments in the smartwatch market noted a rise of 30 per cent year over year in the third quarter of the calendar year. Moreover, it appears that every other market has registered growth in the category, apart from Europe and China.

As per the researchers, the festive season falling in the third quarter of the year could be the primary reason behind the record figures of the year. Senior Analyst Anshika Jain, speaking to the media after the research report was made public, said, “India’s smartwatch market grew 171 per cent (year-over-year) in Q3 2022 to become the biggest market in the world. The main factor behind the record quarter was India’s festive season. Indian brands expanding their product portfolios at affordable price points and emphasis on local manufacturing also contributed to the growth,”

As for the brands, Apple registered a 48 per cent growth in the third quarter of the year, thanks to the successful run Apple Watch 8 Series is enjoying.

Another brand that displayed tremendous growth in the smartwatch category is Noise. The brand registered a growth of 218 per cent year over year to reclaim its top position in the Indian market segment. The brand that paid the price of this extraordinary growth was Fire-Boltt. The brand slipped to the second position in smartwatch sales in the country, losing the maximum chunk of its sales to Noise.

Samsung too had a good third quarter with a growth of 62 per cent quarter over quarter. The growth in Samsung’s numbers was primarily influenced by the well-received new Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 series, the report highlighted.

Biggest Smartwatch Market

Research Analyst Woojin Son, while speaking about the research report, said, “Among the types of smartwatches, the basic smartwatch, with relatively lighter versions of operating systems (OSs) and more affordable prices, has been the key driver in sharply boosting the global market recently. While HLOS smartwatch shipments grew 23 per cent (year-over-year) in Q3 2022, basic smartwatch shipments more than doubled (year-over-year), accounting for 35 per cent of the total market.”

The North American smartwatch market, on the other hand, showed a growth of 21 per cent in the third quarter of the year. Now at the second position in terms of sales globally, it was the largest market from quarter four of 2020 to quarter two of 2022. However, India’s ineffable upward trend in the third quarter outplaced North America from the top spot with ease.

Meanwhile, Counterpoint Research also released a separate report titled “Southeast Asia Monthly Smartphone Channel Share Tracker” a few weeks back. The report highlighted a 29 per cent year over year growth registered by the premium smartphone category in the key Southeast Asian markets in the third quarter of 2022. However, the report also said that the total smartphone shipments in the Southeast Asian region showed a 10% year over year dropped in the same quarter.

iPhone Storage Space

iPhones can be a little tough nut to crack to make optimum storage for your media and apps. Additionally, maybe all iOS users are unfortunately not aware of the exact art to tailor their iPhones according to their needs. If you are still wondering what is taking up all the storage of your iPhone then you should consider the stack of photos, elaborated chats, fun GIFs, music, and games your phone’s arch nemesis. The recent iOS flagships namely iPhone 13 and iPhone 14 series have arrived with increased storage space to 128 GB but users still can not find enough to save all that they have on their iPhones.

The best and most approachable options are always to save the data by investing in cloud storage, such as Google Drive, Apple’s iCloud, and Dropbox. Before using these options and ending up investing a great deal in Apple’s iCloud users can make some changes in the settings to optimize the given storage space. With iOS 16 and its new versions coming in, where the system can detect duplicate images can be the go-to feature to organize your photo library.

Before moving on to different ways of filtering the storage space, it can be helpful to know what aspect is exactly creating the ruckus in the storage system. For that go to ‘settings’, then select ‘General’ in the list. After that, scroll down until you find ‘iPhone storage’, tap it and you will witness different data and files holding on to the storage.

Other ways to free up iPhone Storage space

Optimize Photo storage and Use Cloud storage to save the images and videos

Saving memories at the expense of using up storage space doesn’t seem like a coherent idea when one can optimize photo storage by simply going to the ‘Settings’ of your iPhone, and then selecting the ‘Photos’ option. After that, toggle up the ‘Optimize iPhone Storage’ Options.

iPhone Storage Space

The next best option to free up storage space is saving the images and videos to third-party cloud storage services. Before taking up the tedious task of deleting the lengthy media, make sure the desired photos and videos are saved in the Cloud storage, which includes Google Drive, Apple’s iCloud, Dropbox, and so many more.

Delete the unwanted apps and offload the least used apps

Delete those apps that you vehemently hate but are sitting there in your app list for no reason. For that, Go to ‘iPhone Storage’ there you will get an idea about the apps you haven’t used for ages. Uninstall those apps.

iPhone Storage Space

If you are still not ready to delete the app, the iPhone also has the feature to offload the app. For that, Go to settings, select the ‘App Store’ option, and Toggle on the ‘Offload Unused Apps’ option. This will free up some more space in your iPhone.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Review Roundup: Here’s What Critics Are Saying About the New Pokemon Game

0
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Review

The reviews for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, the two new role-playing video games released on 18 November 2022 as a part of the popular Pokemon franchise, are now out with respectable scores from critics. What more or less appear similar, the two parts of the game series do have some distinct and exclusive Pokemons each.

The Pokemon franchise is one of the oldest gaming series and its popularity has only increased with every new release. The response of the gaming community after the release of the game, however, has been mixed with some praise and some criticism. Let’s first get to everything we know about the game then look at the critics’ comments on the newly released games for a better understanding of the gaming community’s response.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet – Everything We Know

Developed by Game Freak and published by The Pokémon Company and Nintendo for the Nintendo Switch, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet were first announced early this year (February 2022). These two parts are the first instalments of the Pokémon video game series ninth generation.

The game series continues with its basic premise of collecting as many wild animals as possible, either through trading or catching. The game sports an open world scenario where both urban surroundings and wilderness are at play. Players will have three progression routes such as Victory Road, Path of Legends, and Starfall Street with different storylines. Gamers will also be introduced to Terastal, a new phenomenon that transforms the Pokemon into a gem-like look.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Review Roundup

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Review

Jake Dekker, a Reviewer from Gamespot had more positive things to say about the newly released games. His score of 8 out of 10 gave the game a much needed boost on the review scores. In his review, Dekker mentioned, “While undercooked presentation and visual issues hold the games back, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are still the best mainline Pokemon games in years. They build off Pokemon Legends: Arceus’s open-ended design in some thoughtful and surprising ways, and retain that same level of depth that the mainline series is known for.”

Reviewer, Kenneth Shepard from Polygon, on the other hand, wasn’t that positive in their response to the game. Shepard said, “I do leave Scarlet and Violet with a lot of excitement for the future, but even still: It’s a strange phenomenon to watch a series enter a new generation while still grappling with its identity as a whole.”

He further added, “Pokémon Legends: Arceus, for all of its strengths, was a piece of sand in the microchip of Pokémon’s near-annual machine. But it showed so much promise in its fluid exploration, intuitive capturing, and unified systems. To see Scarlet and Violet fall behind, 10 months later, is more than a little disappointing.”

IGN’s Reviewer, Rebekah Valentine scored the two parts of the game a not-so-encouraging 6 out of 10. In her comments, she said, “I truly believe that the bold new ideas of Scarlet and Violet are fantastic, if unrefined – a belief I also held about Pokémon Legends: Arceus. But in both cases, so many of the pillars holding up those shining concepts – visual quality, open-world details, customization, and technical soundness – are seemingly unfinished or actively crumbling. It is completely impossible to play Scarlet and Violet and not notice at least some of its performance issues.”

10 features for Android users that will keep you safe from hackers and viruses!

0
MagSafe

A 2022 report suggests that Android phones are targeted by hackers more than Apple’s iPhone, but that doesn’t mean that the iPhone is safer. The new iOS 11.1 was also hacked by security researchers just a day after it was released. It doesn’t matter if you are using an Android or iPhone, or how new and advanced the new update is; hackers will find a way to crack into it and compromise your personal details. It’s better to be safe than sorry, as the old adage goes. Here are 10 features for Android users that will keep you safe from hackers, viruses, and more.

Find my device

The feature will help you in case you lose your phone or someone grabs or snatches it from you. You can use this feature on the web itself; you’ll be able to locate the current position if your phone is nearby, or if the current location is not available, you’ll be able to see the last known location. You can wipe data from your device remotely, and you can also lock it. In order to use this feature, you’ll have to set it up beforehand. This is how you set it up: Go to Settings > Security > Find My Device. Turn on the toggle on the “Find My Device” page.

Permission manager

Every app nowadays requires permission to make calls, send SMS, or take photos from your phone. Calculator, for example, would request the same. Sometimes, the rules and regulations are so vast that you do not have the time to read them properly and you keep clicking on “yes.” You apparently gave the app permission to sell your data to a third-party organization. How do you tackle this situation when it arrives? Permission manager is the solution. Android devices come with a permission manager that will help you see all the apps that require permissions. You can manually check and toggle the permission list.

Google play protect

Suppose you want to download an app from the Play Store, and you believe that the app is legit and won’t harm your device at all. You download it, and it turns out you have installed a harmful virus on your device. That’s where Google Play Protect will help you; it will run the app before you install it and warn you if it’s harmful for your device. Apart from that, Google Play Protect keeps running security checks on all the apps that are installed on your device and makes sure that none of them causes any harm.

Lock screen options

As stated earlier, Find My Device will help you lock your device remotely, but there are certain ways to make sure your device is locked and no one apart from you will be able to access it. Usually, users will have only one security measure for their phones, such as the grid or a passcode. You can definitely have that, but you should also do a fingerprint scan and a face scan. You can also set a lock delay timer in Android’s lock screen settings so that you can immediately lock your phone after you finish using it.

Features for Android users

Google security checkup

This is predominantly a Google feature, but nonetheless, this feature will make sure that your device is safe and secure. Using this feature will show you all the security issues that are detected and will tell you how you can make your device secure. Go to Settings, Google Manage Google, Account Security tab, click on the Security Issues Detected option, and then tap the Secure Account button to run a Google security check on your phone.

Emergency Contacts

This feature is more for your safety than for your phone. This feature will save your emergency contacts and your medical information, so if by any chance you are in need of any medical assistance and people around you don’t know what to do, they’ll be able to look at your phone and see all the details, and this information will be reflected even if your phone is in lock mode.

Smart Lock

This Android feature works the way you want it to work. The smart lock will focus on three verticals: on-body detection, trusted devices, and trusted places. Which simply means that your phone will unlock if you make a motion, and once your phone is placed on a stagnant area, it will lock itself. Similarly, if you connect your phone to a trusted device like a Bluetooth headset, it will unlock itself. Lastly, if you are in a trusted place like your home, then your phone will unlock itself. It is obvious that you’ll have to save trusted devices and places beforehand, but this feature works like a charm.

Password Manager

If you use Google Chrome for browsing the Internet, then you must know that the browser comes with a security feature known as Password Manager. This feature will help you check all the passwords that have been leaked or compromised. So check it out and update all of your passwords.

Better App permission

To provide users more control over their programmes, Google upgraded the app permission option. Users can direct apps to only use specific permissions when the app is open. This makes sure that apps aren’t secretly gathering info from the device.

App Pinning

The app pinning feature enables users to lock one app or process on the phone, after which they must unlock the phone once more to access any other apps or processes. You’ll find this feature helpful when you give your phone to someone you do not and they want to use your phone.

Moto G82 Review: Motorola Goes Above and Beyond with Billion- Colour Display

Moto G82 Review

Motorola with its G Series appears to be in a constant expansion mode beyond the 20K smartphone price segment. The Moto G82, a mid-range smartphone that debuted a few months ago in the international market, is the brand’s attempt to capture the segment. The highlights in the specifications section of Moto G82 remain its 6.6-inch OLED 120Hz display and a 50 MP primary camera, stereo speakers, and an IP52 rating.

While the market is flooded with options in this smartphone segment, does Moto G82 stands a chance to make it through the shopping cart? Let’s get into our in-depth Moto G82 review to understand whether this device is something you should be considering while planning your next smartphone upgrade.

Moto G82 Review – Design

Moto G82, when it comes to design, evidently took a lot of inspiration from some of the previous Motorola smartphones. The design cues from Moto G52 and Moto G62 are visible along with some finishes Motorola Edge 30 thrown in between. All four smartphones have a relatively similar setup. And similar to Edge 30, the brand has claimed that G82 5G is also the lightest and slimmest smartphone available in the market in the segment. With a flattened plastic frame, G82 has curved body edges that make it easier to hold and perfect for single-hand usage.

The 6.6-inch pOLED display panel ensures that the display is thinner and it also is why the \the bezel size is down. For the selfie camera, G82 5G back has a hole-punch cutout. There is a side-mounted fingerprint scanner along with sound control buttons on the right side.

The IP52 rating should make the smartphone splash-resistant, however, many early critic reviews appointed out that the device easily catches fingerprints on the body. Constantly cleaning may be needed to get rid of the fingerprints. Moreover, to tackle this issue, Motorola also added a clear case in the package.

Moto G82 Review – Specifications and Features

Moto G82 Review

Powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 octa-core SoC, Moto G82 has two RAM variants even though the storage of 128 GB is similar for both variants. It comes with a hybrid SIM slot, which means that to be able to expand the storage of the device, users will have to let go of the second SIM slot. The device, otherwise, is loaded with features that make it worthy in the segment it is targeting. It has stereo speakers, Dolby Atmos support

Moto G82 is 13 5G bands support along with connectivity support of Bluetooth 5.1, dual-band Wi-Fi, and dual-4G VoLTE connectivity. Furthermore, the smartphone sports a 6.6-inch full high definition plus resolution display that promises 100% DCI-P3 gamut coverage. It has a 360Hz touch sampling rate and a 120Hz refresh rate for faster and smoother screen fluidity.

The brand claims that the 10-bit borderless display provides 64 times better colour experience. It can transform into more than a billion colour shades in order to provide true-to-life colour on the screen. Users would be thrilled to experience infinite contrast of deeper blacks and much richer darks on the screen with this device. Moto G82 could be a decent device for entertainment and streaming purposes with its 25 per cent extra colours that only enhance the cinematic standards and colour accuracy.

For battery support, the smartphone is packed with an ultimate 5,000 mAh battery. The battery is further capable of 30W fast charging. To increase the power efficiency of the device, Motorola has also added a 33W TurboPower charger in the device packaging box.

Moto G82 5G – Camera

The camera of Moto G82 5G is impressive and checks the most significant boxes that can turn the photography experience with this smartphone pleasant. It is a triple camera setup, which by now should be regarded as the standard. It has a 50-megapixel primary camera, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera, and a 2-megapixel macro camera. The primary camera is coupled with optical stabilisation (OIS) for optimum performance.

Netflix December 2022 Releases

Netflix India is all set to have a December full of entertainment. The streaming platform has scheduled four originals for the month (excluding the one little birdie noticed on the Netflix international listing even though the India platform hasn’t confirmed its arrival yet). Let’s see what all to expect from the streaming service this December.

The month will kick start with a pre-Independence psychological drama, Qala starring Triptii Dimri, Swastika Mukherjee, and Babil Khan in pivotal roles. Schedule to be released on December 1, 2022, The show focuses on the life of a rising playback singer in the Indian film industry and they cope with the part and parcel of success. The official Netflix synopsis reads, “Haunted by her past, a talented singer with a rising career copes with the pressure of success, a mother’s disdain and the voices of doubt within her.”

Another anticipated release in the month of December on Netflix would be the Randeep Hooda starrer series CAT. Hooda is essaying the role of a former police informant who somehow finds himself thrown “back into the world of drugs and investigations” in CAT. The thrilling Netflix original series is scheduled to release on December 9. Apart from Hooda, the series will also have Suvinder Vicky and Hasleen Kaur in primary roles. CAT is directed by filmmaker Balwinder Singh Janjua who previously directed “Saand Ki Aankh.”

However, even before CAT hits your devices, Netflix is releasing a bunch of exciting content. Some of the most anticipated shows to come out before December 9, 2022 include Kartiki Gonsalves’ short nature documentary The Elephant Whisperers. This surrounds “a south Indian couple who devote their lives to caring for an orphaned baby elephant.” To be out on December 8 on Netflix, The Elephant Whisperers isn’t the only documentary that we are excited about.

Another Indian documentary, that avid Netflix subscribers must be waiting for, Indian Predator is also returning to the streaming platform with its fourth edition. Beast of Bangalore: Indian Predator is scheduled to release on December 16, 2022.

With so much content to choose from, let’s not forget about the biggest International Netflix originals that are scheduled for a December 2022 release. Yes, its time to brace yourself for Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, which will mark the return of Daniel Craig as detective Benoit Blanc. To be released on December 23 on Netflix, Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery is written and directed by Rian Johnson. Benoit Blanc is heading to Greece this time to solve another thrilling murder mystery.

Moreover, who can forget Emily Cooper? No one, really.

Arguably one of the most anticipated international Netflix series to make a comeback on the streaming platform in December is Emily in Paris. The series is coming for its third season and will hit the screens on December 21, 2022. Apart from everything that there is to be excited about Emily in Paris, Lily Collins’ getting bangs is probably at the top.
